Wow, ya pests cleaned up here. Time to go home, nothing left to see.

Wii know, wii feel the same way

"but anyone who is going to make a decision on what console to buy based on its NAME is an idiot."

And even though they're idiots, they're still people that might have bought the console, and put money in Nintendo's pockets, and now aren't. I love all the fanboys acting like they are the majority- the people who were going to buy it anyway, no matter what it's marketed like.

Even if you don't agree with them, some people's decisions do come down to image, lifestyle, and branding. Sorry this ain't your utopia, where we all jack with our Wiis all day and say "it doesn't matter what it's called, and if you buy it based on the name or not you're an idiot"

"If you're not going to buy a console because it has a "ghey" name, or because you think your super-macho-xbox mates willmake fun of you, nintendo doesn't care"

Well they should. And some of us are in marketing- sorry that we should have an opinion on something that, while you may not think important, is a huge part of America and, yes, Nintendo: branding.

Gary Shapiro and the CEA take a stand

The black market feeds itself, and if you honestly believe cutting out the person on the bottom doesn't mean the pushers will simply find another buyer, you're as delusional as the people who lock kids up for smoking weed.

You can't lock up enough at the bottom to keep the top stagnant. There's never going to be a time when someone with thousands of dollars of Illegal Whatever (Heroin, Music) sits on it just cause there aren't enough buyers.

Nintendo Wii -- the Revolution gets a real name

This will break the console- and before you say it's just a name- it's not, it's a perception, and saying Nintendo WEE makes me sick.

Pioneer Innos out in April for $400

There are no repeaters at an Army base- of course you're not getting a decent signal. These things are all about repeaters. You're right- if you're completely dependent on the sky sometimes you'll have trouble getting a signal. That's why you should research a product before buying it. And if it didn't work for you, take it back.

The size of these stupid things means I could never use them on my laptop, even if I wanted to- unless I unplugged every other cord from my laptop. Stupid, stupid idea- and even if it works on your computer, can you be sure the one you're taking it to also has a free slot, with several inches on either side to accomodate that stupid, stupid extra heft? Decent idea- AWFUL form factor.

Samsung's Helix portable XM DAP available for preorder

It's too bad that these things have to debut markedly overpriced to make cost. These devices are really nice, to be sure, as was the MyFi, but really only at the $250 range, in my opinion.

Thanks, TUAW, for reminding me that these guys didn't send me the Best Buy certificate they promised for doing their research thing. Anyone get theirs?
