@beano311 Dude, stop being so pedantic. "High profile" is relative, and whatever you think of Double Fine in the overall gaming industry (personally I consider high profile), for Kickstarter it was indeed a high profile entry - sort of like, medium fish in a small pond.

While the stats are interesting, looking at the big picture nothing actaully new happened. Think of kickstarter as a re-seller of products (like amazon) and double fine as a high profile creator of products who decided to take advantage of the service (kinda like EA putting their games on GOG.com) - this attracts more customers to the service, and those customers in turn start using it more by "buying" other products, and of course most other products will be in the same category as the one that attracted them originally.

Still, it's a good service, and it's great to see it getting more exposure.

Well that kinda makes sense within the context of the game. However, I still don't understand why the online features couldn't be optional as it were. I would've liked to have the option to just mess around with my city(ies) in a completely single-player environment, I know online-integration/social features are hot right now but presenting an option to not use them wouldn't have taken away from that. And then if I wanted I could go online and start building cities there.

Games like Sim City work extremely well as nice distractions during flights, or maybe on a rainy evening in the cottage or something. Making online a feature is one thing, but making it mandatory is a detriment.

Did I forget how crappy GTA3 looks or something? 'Cause as I was watching this I was thinking to myself "okay, so wait, what's the mod exactly, looks like shots of standard GTA3".

@Painfull Hero Kill cams were in the game from the very start! They just added more of them. You can't just now go and every time they add something be all like "oh well that should've been there from the start". Skyrim has a huge world, I mean freaking huge, it's not realistic to expect them to do absolutely everything they wanted with it right from the start - this stuff takes time to implement and they had a game to release.

TBH, considering the amount of content Skyrim has and the standard price of the game, every piece of content they add now, however insignificant should be looked at as pure cherry on top. Stop being so entitled.

Baldur's Gate enhanced edition, Double Fine's project, Wasteland 2, XCOM (not the FPS one, but the other, proper one) and even to some extent a proper sequel to Deus Ex from last year - I don't think I have the words for how freaking awesome all this is!

If I hear about Sierra doing an enhanced edition of King's Quest, Space Quest and Gabriel Knight series, and Ken Levin doing System Shock 3, I'm seriously going to just explode.

@Najaf There is also air unit stacking.

@Daverator I hope in addition to non-combat land units (which I agree is the most likely change they're talking about), they extend it to naval units as well. I always thought it should be possible to stack transport vessels with combat ones.
