Feb 11th 2012 8:15PM (Joystiq)To be honest, personally I rarely care about graphics any more, only when they're particularly bad (like performance issues despite not being all that advanced, or bugs like pop-in textures, etc.) or when they're particularly good but even then (when they're good) it's actually more a matter of great art direction than actual technical achievement. In other words I find that even games that don't push 2 million polygons per scene and dozens of shaders and what not, can still look beautiful and even stunning (DX:HR comes to mind), while all the mega-textures and polygons in the world can't help you if your art department can't come up with a beautiful world (Rage comes to mind).
