Yeah, the iPhone coverage is getting annoying now. I was excited about the phone when it was announced, but lately its been overkill - especially on places like Digg :
"iPhone has a browser!" "iPhone comes in a white box! wow!" "iphone has a charging lead! exclusive photos!" "review of iPhone in Farmers Weekly!" "I was just looking through the Bible and saw the words I and Phone on the same line! OMG how freaky is that!"
OK, maybe not the last one ;) But its getting that extreme. Its a phone. A good phone, with a nice form and brilliant OS. But ultimately, its just a phone. From the coverage, you think Steve Jobs had just invented the cellphone. Erm... I dunno about the US, but in the UK we've had cellphones for like 20 years. Its a nice phone. I'll buy one. But come on...
I'll step back a bit from the arguing and say this: OSX86 project was cobbling together intel/universal versions of software way before the intelMacs hit the stores. You know the first place I visited after I bought my iMac? OSX86. Its the only place you could find news and stuff about the platform. Of course, now universal software is everywhere, but that site performed a service to Mac users and I applaud them for it.
Mac users should welcome them into the fold, instead of blindly alienating them. As Mr Mash said, a large portion of their users are real MAC users anyhow. And clever, intelligent ones at that. I've learned more about the inner workings of OSX over there then on any other website. And I don't even run OSX on a PC...
Well, this update fixes the issue of Photoshop and Creative Suite installers freezing on Intel Macs. That could be the "small" issue they're talking about ;)
Now all we need is for iTunes to start playing/ripping AAC+ format... you can betcha that most cellphone users use that format, but you have to use alternative software (Nokia etc) in order to rip them. It would be nice to keep everything: iPod, Lossless, AAC+ etc inside iTunes for ease of use. Come on Apple, stop dragging your feet (notice that AAC+ wasn't included in the recent 7.1 update either)
I agree with Tom. No rush to bring out CS3 if you can use the Windows version on your Mac. If lots of companies follow suit, then its making OSX almost irrelevant - people will buy a Mac, install XP on it, and thats it. Apple will turn into Alienware or something. I say - do everything in your power to keep Windows OFF the Apple platform. Either that, or level the playing field and release OSX for PCs. Its a slippery slope otherwise
I bought an iPod, filled it with music, then threw it in my bag and its been there ever since (erm... I mean, I get it out to listen to it etc). As long as you don't throw your keys in on top of it, no problem. It's there to play music, not to wear on your belt as a fashion accessory. I see these people walking round, with their noses cocked up and their gleaming iPods on display, as if they're the only person in the world who has one. Gimme a break. Twenty years ago it was the Walkman. Ten years ago it was the cell phone - now its the iPod. and the iPod, like the cell phone, like the walkman, is just a tool. As long as it works, who cares what it looks like? Scratches? Comes with the territory. Although, considering how much they cost, you think they'd be a bit tougher. ;)
I've got 3 PCs lying around, why would I want to run XP on my Macbook too? Nice, if you need it, but pretty pointless. I'm more interested in getting OSX running on my PCs ;) (oops... sorry Steve)
Enough with the iPhone already

I'd love a new iPod, but its senseless paying out an extra £200 for something my phone can do already.
(phones are coming with 8 gig hard-drives...)
