Call of Duty: World at War producer on why it's not 'CoD 5'

Oh, and if you wish to refer to me in the future, it is "megaStryke", lowercase 'm', capital 'S'. I am extremely anal about that and can't keep letting people butcher it.

Since everyone knows that I'm still floating about, I'll respond by saying that from here on out if you want to have an actual game discussion, you'd do best to email me at megaStryke@gmail.com.

But to get this out of the way, Super Contra is the second Contra game. It has no "two" attached to it, but the following game in the series was called Contra III. Just saying.

Sony CEO: PlayStation profitability is top priority

Well, after the mess that was the PS3 launch and the subsequent months, Sony's game division should be doing sexual favors in order to actually make some money again.

http://gamerinvestments.com/video-game-stocks/2008/05/30/playstation-2-may-have-won-last-generations-sales-battle-but-it-lost-the-console-war/

During the PS2 era (2000 up to the launch of the PS3), Sony made $3.046 billion. In the short year and few months of the PS3's life, Sony has lost about $3.192 billion. All the money made over all those years were blown away just like that.

Spector: 100-hour games are out

I'm certain he's referring to single-player games or single-player campaigns in games with robust multiplayer features. With the exception of Gears of War, those games you listed are from popular and respected franchises and would sell no matter what. Gears of War, if you've forgotten, had a really short campaign. Multiplayer is a completely different discussion.

I guess burning and copying games is pretty hardcore too. So hardcore that Sega lost profits from games. Hardcore, indeed.

How many companies can honestly toss about $100 million on a single game? Even if they had the money, how would they be assured of success and profit? GTA4 succeeded because it is GRAND THEFT AUTO. Only the biggest franchises from the biggest companies could feasibly pull something like that off. Need I remind you of Shenmue and it's $70-million budget? That tanked HARD.

How come you guys killed the Dreamcast? You killed the most hardcore console around. Was it TOO hardcore?

First Call of Duty: World at War trailer to roll onto XBL

That's not proof of anything. The title of the article even says: "Possible CoD5 box arts." So obviously the site considers the game CoD5. Give me a quote from Activision themselves.

Tell you what... you find me the proof. Show me the article where Activision states that this game is NOT Call of Duty 5 and I will bow to your superior industry knowledge.
