Rumor: NGP developers encouraged to go cross-platform
Feb 4th 2011 4:42PM (Joystiq)What they meant to say is, "There has to be a good reason for someone to buy both, the PS3 copy of the game and find enough bonuses in the NGP version to warrant a purchase of that one as well."

Hands-on with the new Xbox 360 controller with transforming D-pad
Sep 3rd 2010 10:33AM (Joystiq)I agree. From what I see both raised and lowered d-pads work on the same swivel mechanism. The shape of the d-pad was never a problem, its the pseudo analog like swivel base design. I always hated this design starting from all those crappy 3rd party controllers I used to buy for PS1 and PS2.
New Xbox 360 controller with twist-up D-pad coming Nov. 9, bundled with charge kit for $65
Aug 31st 2010 12:55PM (Joystiq)The raised d-pad will feel like a cheap MadCatz d-pad. Still does not compare to Sonys design for fighters. The whole point is to have each direction button be its OWN button on the surface of the controller. Makes for a lot easier input. This new d-pad is raised way too high. The whole problem is the swivel mechanism they use. Redesign that first. Its a d-pad not another analog stick.

May 12th 2009 11:07AM (Joystiq)They don't want to satisfy gamers like me who are getting tired of playing online competitive modes. I'm not 16 anymore and don't need to show how macho I am by having a 2.71 KDR. I just want to sit back with a few friends, grab a beer, play coop and relax.

Oct 13th 2008 3:51PM (Joystiq Playstation)They are slowly trying to make everyone happy to progressively let more and more people enjoy the system. Not everyone needs ingame chat. Why would people that just want better video support for example have to wait a whole year until the full update is released, just because ingame chat is holding it back.
