What does the author mean when they said "Hideo Kojima's playful, odd and utterly Byzantine stealth saga. (Well, most of it)"

What do they mean by Byzantine? Wikipedia didn't help me understand how the Byzantine Empire is relevant to MGS, perhaps it's only in the author's mind....

My earliest stupid gamble would be the time I traded my SNES for a huge box of Magic cards that was supposed to be worth hundreds (I was like 11, gimme a break). Well I went to sell the cards and could only get $2 for ONE of the cards! Well I told my mom and she fixed it all for me.

Turns out that later I found out that card was the cornerstone of his deck. Karma's a bitch.

I find it hilarious that you people keep beating the fact that VF5 is not online. The really hilarious fact is that if the casual fighting game/graphics hounds crowd got the online feature that's so important to them, they would just get pwned constantly. So much in fact most of them wouldn't even bother learning, much like the Halo n00bs and the Counter-strike n00bs (and soon to be Gears n00bs).

It's not like I wouldn't love to pummel a seasoned Halo player into the ground from a thousand miles away. But it really doesn't matter either way cause the lag would make it a totally diffrent game. Let's leave online to fighting games like DOA and Mortal Kombat, i.e. the games n00bs play. =)

It would be awesome if I won, because my little sister is really sick and all the wordes she can muster out of her tiny little voice are "I really wish I could play Wario Ware before I die". My family just doesn't have the money for another Wii game (we only have 6).

OH, COME ON!! Doesn't anyone miss the days when Squaresoft had more creativity then marketing strategy. They've barely been trying to make truly great games lately.

Doesn't anyone realise what's happening here? You people ask:

- "Why isn't there a new Crono Trigger game?"
- "Why arn't they remaking FFVII?"
- "Why are the directors of the Mana series going off on such random tangents?"
- "Why won't they make a new Vagrent Story?"

You know why? It's because we keep buying the half-baked crap they release instead. They are a business and they have longevity in mind. They know excatly the things we really want. Square is sitting on at least a dozen "aces in the hole", and you can bet we won't be seeing any of them. Not until we stop buying the games they release while they're holding a royal flush.

Oh man, worst screens of a game I've ever seen! Anyone who's played Prime 2 would know to expect more from Prime 3 than these shots. That game has fantastic graphics that really pushed the Gamecube. I can't even tell what some stuff is in these shots.

What's with Nintendo's marketing as of late? Everyone's on vacation till Christmas and I guess the drinking bird fell over. I'll never trust a countdown again...

I don't understand why everyone cares about a PS3 price cut. I live in Canada and even if Sony dropped the price point down to the level of the 360 Elite it would still cost me $560 plus tax. Add in VF5 ($69.99), an extra controller ($69.99) and some Tekken:DR love ($24.99), I'm either way going to be dropping a grand.

Does a $75 (optimistic) price cut really throw people over the fence to buy a PS3? And if so why? In the end it's not the price of the PS3 that matters, current gen is gonna cost a pretty penny either way. It's games, games and more games that should be pushing people over the 360/PS3 fence, not a marginal price cut. These people should be glad they have no interest in PC gaming, then they would see how much keeping up with current gen really costs.

"Triple A" titles? Come on. These games hardly deserve that, these are just the games we get till 2008.

Killzone 2, GTAIV, MGS4, GT5, VF5. Those are triple A titles.

Sony's "Gamer's Day" just reminded me how far off 2008 really is.
