Sparse The Last of Us story details emerge

Dec 12th 2011 12:37AM (Joystiq)
This would look so much more interesting without any kind of "infected" people.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on PC replaced by Ghost Recon Online

Nov 25th 2011 5:49PM (Joystiq)
Come on PC people, just get a console. If a game you want to play ends up only on consoles, get it and enjoy it. Play the rest on PC. I prefer console gaming for a variety of reasons, but enjoy RTS games on PC. So even though my mac laptop meets all of my computing needs, I keep a PC desktop so I can play RTS games. I don't miss out on anything I want to play. It's that simple. You didn't invent the PC, and have no good reason to take so much pride in it. Same with xbox/PS3 people, or PC/Mac people. Get over it and enjoy all the games you want.

Halo Helljumper is a fanmade series that looks like a Hollywood hit

Nov 21st 2011 6:11AM (Joystiq)
The better the visuals of these fan made projects, the more the acting stands out. What these guys are doing is great from a technical standpoint, and impressive for an independent production. But, I really wish people could find better actors for stuff like this. This doesn't feel like a Hollywood film, because those movies (the good ones) have better actors.

I've been involved in a number of independent projects. A few have had great scripts and great equipment and a crew that knows how to use it, but finding good actors is the most difficult part.

Monday Morning Discussion: Would 'TRON: Legacy' Have Worked Better as a Remake?

Dec 20th 2010 10:58AM (Moviefone Blog)
Maybe if the people in charge of making it were different, a remake would have worked, but in that case, a sequel might have worked better too. Sequel or reboot, it just needed to be better.

When I go to the movies, no matter what the movie is, I have the same expectation. I'm not going to lower the bar for a "fun" movie. I have fun when a movie has nice looking visuals and great action AND a good story. They aren't mutually exclusive. Just because the plot can be followed doesn't mean the filmmakers have done a good job. I didn't hate the experience of watching it, I was just let down and a little frustrated at what could have been.

Tron Legacy comes close. It touches on a number of interesting ideas, but fails to really develop or be about any of them.

'The Office' Season 7, Episode 11 Recap

Dec 10th 2010 5:14AM (AOL TV)
Yeah the snowball thing was funny. It made perfect sense that he would take it too seriously and go too far with it like he always does. I was just surprised he "won" this time.

'The Walking Dead' Walks Away from the Entire Writing Staff

Dec 1st 2010 4:45PM (AOL TV)
This sounds good to me. Walking Dead is the most overrated show In recent history. Zombies are completely free of any mystery or intrigue so the show has to rely completely on interpersonal situations, which up until now were just OK at best. Hope this can increase the quality of the show.

Chelsea Handler, Joan Rivers and Joel McHale? Yes, Please!

Nov 30th 2010 1:30AM (AOL TV)
It's also a bit of a stretch to call her a comic.

'Ghostbusters 3' Rumors: Bill Hader and Will Forte May Join Cast?

Nov 24th 2010 1:24PM (Moviefone Blog)
Oh come on. Ghostbusters 2 is great. Sure, it's not as good as the first, but no film is.

'Halo' Adaptation: Should it be a Movie or a TV Series?

Nov 24th 2010 10:44AM (Moviefone Blog)
I think either one has potential to be great. I just hope they strive for quality whichever way they go. On one hand I wouldn't want to miss out on the potential spectacle of a human/covenant war on the big screen. On the other hand, the established mythology and history within the Halo universe could benefit from a serialized format. I just hope it doesn't look cheap. 343 does seem to care about the property, but I hope things turn out much, much better than 85% of Halo Legends did.

Wolverine Won't Be In 'X-Men: First Class' -- Is That a Mistake?

Nov 5th 2010 11:25AM (Moviefone Blog)
This is great news to me. I think Wolverine has been overexposed in every medium for years. There have been some great Wolverine stories and all, but I'm glad to see him take a back seat (or no seat in this case) to other X-Characters.
