Beyond Good & Evil 2 bound for Revo?

Mar 20th 2006 7:47AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I loved Beyond Good & Evil, I bought it the day it came out and couldn't put it down.

Quark changes logo

Personally I like it. But only the relief version. I find the 2 colour really lacking. I guess you can only come up with so
many truly inspirational ideas but this new logo really needs the 3D work to make it look its best.

New Super Mario Bros. info emerges

Mar 20th 2006 7:39AM (Joystiq)
I'm not all up-ons about how much faster the processor in the DS is compared to the GBA. I had the GBA version of Worms, but it
was pretty much unplayable. The computer took rediculous amounts of time to calculate it's move, and it was never a good or
smart shot... Hopefully that'll be fixed with the newer console.

NES Zapper Mouse for PC Duck Hunt fun

Mar 20th 2006 7:37AM (Engadget)
The idea is novel. I mean, it would be almost cool to play duck hunt with like he does. And if he figured out movement, maybe
foot pedals or something in FPS’s and the gyro mouse being just camera movement, then that could be cool.
But yeah, the hack is like it says “very easy”. And of course “hack” anymore means anything that does something at all it
wasn’t originally designed for.

Is TiVo dying?

Mar 6th 2006 7:44AM (PVR Wire)
Ya know, this reminds me alot of the "Don't buy a Mac -- Apple is going out of business any day now" thing that I've been hearing for, oh, a decade or so. Sure, Tivo could go under, but they are in business right now, and they seem to have the best and most well-liked product of it's kind. What would keep Tivo in business longer? If more people bought the best and most well-liked product of it's kind.
But even if Tivo does go under, they have a large and loyal fanbase of geeks, whom i bet would have an opensource program guide available to keep the machines running in about, oh, 10 minutes.
That said, I think the total disappearance of Tivo is highly unlikely... if anything I imagine they'll end up getting bought or doing a merger or something like that. Such a well-known and well-liked brand won't just disappear entirely. Tivo is just like Converse.... somewhere out there is their Nike-in-shining-armor, just waiting for the right moment to swoop in and take over.

Thanks for the link! I was able to enter a contest I didn't know about through the site to win one of 25 trips to WDW!

Is TiVo dying?

Feb 28th 2006 9:25AM (PVR Wire)
As long as television as-we-know-it-today is still around, your TiVo will still work. The guide data, on the other hand, that says what time and station shows are on, and descriptions, etc., would probably not be available if TiVo went out of business entirely. That is to say, the most useful features of the TiVo (set it and forget it) would be lost. You'd have to manually configure it to record at certain dates and times, like a VCR.
