Ce-Oh no he didn't!: Larry Ellison likens HP board to 'idiots' at Apple

Aug 10th 2010 9:41AM (Engadget)
@tu madre It may not be "nothing" however when you are the CEO of a company, you have a solid track record and you are managing millions of dollars, I don't think 20k over two years is a lot of money.

That said, they paid me 40 million dollars in severance which is a lot more than 20k.

Apple launching new Mac Pros, speedbumped iMac, new Cinema Display and maybe the Magic Trackpad tomorrow?

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has been rooted, all is right with the world

Jul 11th 2010 6:43AM (Engadget)
@huh You're an idiot if you truly believe that. Since manufactures are taking a premade OS that they know litte about and shoving it devices as fast as they can, I predict there will never be an end to "rooting" on production android phones.

Furthermore, linux has kexec now which lets you reboot the phone into a new environment (for example a custom rom) if you have "root"

@mrqs Other than samsung, everyone is support two OSes that they didn't write. MeeGo and Symbian are both written by nokia, so it would make more sense to just move the devs over to MeeGo

@bogglez

Thanks, I'll get one of these and connect the firewire port on it to my two HD-DVR to record shows.

I also like how the PS3 is a whole computer with linux and everything.

How would you change Sony Ericsson's Xperia X10?

Needs a dock port for expandability, a mean of detecting a case /holster like blackberries have, needs a software update and needs more physical buttons.

iPhone vulnerability leaves your data wide open, even when using a PIN

Wait a second, I'm not up on the iPhone scene anymore but I remember back in the days (around the iPhone 3G days) I built a custom ramdisk with SSH server that allowed me to login to the phone and reset the password (or read/write data) regardless of its lock status.

As far as I know, that still works doesn't it?

@DoctarPeppar If you are willing to pay 300 for an android netbook, then buy a regular netbook and run android on it.
