Metareview: Clubhouse Games

@ Jonathan Harford - Yes, that list looks correct for the N.American version as well.

This game shines on games likes Darts, bowling, balance, and anything you can play against a friend via local WiFi, or anytime you can get to a wireless access point.

This is a must buy game for a number of DS owners out there. I bought two already, one for me and one for my wife.

What do you consider mediocre? Metacritic has StarFox Command at an 82 at the time of this post, which puts it in the top 20 best DS games of all time, (subject to change as more reviews are submitted). Gamerankings.com has StarFox Command at an 81%.

In my book I consider buying any game that has a 75 or higher on aggregate score sites. I made an exception for Big Brain Academy which got a 74 if I recall, but it was only $19.99. =D

Games below that mark I'll just rent or borrow.

Hey Leo,

StarFox Command is loads of fun and it fits on the DS quite nicely. Try it out b4 you buy it if possible as the touch-only controls have turned a small number of my friends away from this title. As for me, the learning curve was there, but by the end of the tutorials and the first mission, I was hooked! Plus you can record your own voice as the Animal Crossing-esque jibberish speak during cutscenes. =D

I would recommend Age of Empires DS for most any fan of AWDS who is looking for more. It's a great game, holds true to the AoE franchise although it has been criticized for it's camera angle.

If you like the concept behind AoE, (historical battles), and like turn based strategy on the DS, I'd recommend it. Plus you should be able to find a used copy by now.

I've been playing StarFox Command for a few days now and it is a must buy game!!!

It is second only to Advance Wars DS IMO, and I have well over 15 DS games in my collection, including Trauma Center, Mario Kart, New SMB, Both Brain games, Kirby, and Age of Empires.

One could argue that the technology in the Ford Festiva is not so different than the technology found in a luxury car.
