Pointing out the obvious regarding the MacBook and gaming

Jun 5th 2006 1:44PM (Joystiq)
Generally, Apple does a lousy job when it comes to appealing to gamers...and I'm typing this on my PowerBook. You don't even want to know what a decent GPU costs in a Power Mac.

That said, this article (and the complaint) is unnecessary. So the MacBook has intergrated graphics...and? So do many other Windows-based laptops and desktops (as somebody else already mentioned). Big deal. It's not like they claimed it was the uber-gaming device of the century.

Have you guys considered the fact that she's a human being? Why are you so vicious towards a person you've never met and who's worst crimes are apparently a lack of intelligence, starring in a leaked sex tape, and making a video game that you won't buy?

Am I the only one who noticed this?

“I almost bailed on the whole demo and cancelled the thing, becuase I don't like being told "they want to see DNF in order to secure a cover for Prey", by a publisher, but I did it anyway.”

Reminds me of what Dan Hsu wrote about not long ago.

Mom & Pop plot to screw you out of a PS3... and put food on their table

There is nothing unethical or immoral about selling anything at a price the market demands. In fact, it’s the best thing one could do. Profit is what makes your precious economy go around, didn’t you know? And don’t start talking about being greedy. Honest, decent business people all over the world make their living by maximizing profit on goods and services.

I’m not familiar with US laws, but generally retailers can’t be forced to sell a product at any price by anybody (at least in Canada).

The whole 360 launch was ridiculous. I can only think that the reason Microsoft didn’t price the system higher was purely for marketing reasons (i.e. not wanting to imprint a high price into the minds of consumers).

What really sucks is what the 360 shortage did to the entire industry! Next-gen arrived, nobody could have it, and the current-gen stuff wouldn’t sell anymore. Game publishers are offering games for hardware that barely has any users.

Dear Sony,

Please wait on the PS3 launch until you have a reasonable amount of units to sell.

Oh, who am I kidding.

Very tasteless. That's a pretty strange idea of entertainment.

This could be the first time that a bad guy dies of malnutrition before the protagonist can get to him/her.

If this were an Olympic sport I might actually care about the Olympics.

The song is "Danger Zone" AKA "The Top Gun song" by Kenny Loggins BTW.
