Rock Band Weekly: Soundgarden

If there's one good thing with Guitar Hero dying out, this is it - Rock Band is free to deal with Soundgarden again. Thank god.

Safari used to hijack MacBook Pro at Pwn2Own 2011

Mar 10th 2011 12:35PM (TUAW.com)
People don't show up at pwn2own and, on the spot, try to find a hack. They work on hacks beforehand, show up, and execute them. So the reason no one showed up to hack Chrome is that no one had a hack ready.

So it's not that "no one tried", it's "no one could claim they could hack chrome."

Zombies!!! for XBLA shambling in Spring 2011

Nov 12th 2010 8:37PM (Joystiq)
When I first got into board games 2-3 years ago, I was all over this game. Then I realised how completely devoid of strategy it was.

All "special action" cards can be used at any time, and the goal of the game is to reach the helicopter square before the other players. So it all boils down to waiting for the other players to get close to it, and throw some crappy card their way to move them in the wrong direction, or respawn at the starting square, or spawn a million zombies around them.

It's fun for a couple of games, but there's no depth, no strategy, too much luck involved when fighting zombies (think Risk)...

With the amount of good board games on XBLA, I wouldn't bother with this one.

My two cents!

You will not escape Dungeon Twister on XBLA

Feb 11th 2009 8:00AM (Joystiq)
Well, it's really nothing like Hero Quest, it's more like an overly complex, fantasy themed chess game. Probably not the best comparison, but it's more strategy game than "RPG-lite" like Hero Quest.

@Gewurz: There is a Computer version of Hero Quest made by Gremlin, there was even an unreleased NES (or is it SNES?) port of it, but trust me, avoid it. It's horrible.

Are you really doubting Tim Schafer's ability to write dialogue?

I'd say keep faith until we get trailers with more content.

World Tour set to offer Oasis album as DLC

Oct 17th 2008 9:36PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I'm not a fan of Oasis at any length, but from what I know of them, even from people who appreciate their music, it's a bore to play in music games.

Karaoke games, fine, Rock Band and it's bastard little brother? bleh. I'll take the whole Texas Flood album for Rock Band before the end of the year instead.
