Netflix is coming to the PS3 [update]
Oct 26th 2009 3:10AM (Joystiq)That, or you're solely looking for recent blockbusters or something.
I consider myself sort of a picky bastard when it comes to movie quality and I still have over 300 movies, documentaries, and TV series in my queue.
Here are a few to start you off:
The Host
Zach Galifianakis: Live
Born into Brothels
"The Human Face" series
King of Kong
Primer
Doctor Who Series
Oldboy
Visioneers
Dexter (Series)
The Orphanage
That's just the top of my list.
Not to mention all of the awesome crap I wouldn't have even discovered if I hadn't had instant play.
I'm absolutely convinced people who can't find anything good on Netflix instant play are either not looking hard enough or looked at the library once a year ago and just haven't looked back since.

Oct 26th 2009 2:39AM (Joystiq)The library is absolutely great considering all of the restrictions the companies probably put on them when it comes to streaming. I mean it'd be awesome if they could get their whole library up in instant play, but I think that's being unrealistic.

Jun 17th 2009 5:34PM (Joystiq)Some of the best stuff graphically that we've seen this generation has come out of the PS3 (think Killzone, think MGS4).
These lacking graphics aren't about the power of the system, it's the inability of the developers (or just not wanting to put the work into it) that is causing these inferior ports to come over.

Jan 12th 2009 5:21PM (Joystiq Playstation)I'm an Ubuntu user myself, I just get pissed at how many Linux users are completely and utterly stuck on themselves. Instead of writing something helpful, all the guy gets is a sarcastic and blunt "try linux". This is why people think that we're all douchebags.

Jan 12th 2009 3:31PM (Joystiq Playstation)Don't get me wrong, I love Linux and dual-boot with it on my main box, but that's a stupid suggestion.

Jan 12th 2009 3:29PM (Joystiq Playstation)I wouldn't have had a problem with that extra program running to get my PS3 controller working with Vista, but it literally shut down every other USB device connected to my computer for some reason. I had to plug in an old PS2 mouse and keyboard to uninstall it and get everything working again.
This is a single all-in-one driver that you install. It's nice and simple.

Jan 6th 2009 2:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)I understand that there are two separate teams working on both versions, but if you think they're going to be totally independent from each other, you're crazy. They have to consult with each other at some point, and that takes more valuable time out of the creation and polishing of the game.
If they don't start 360 development until after the PS3 version is complete (like I've heard is happening elsewhere), then why the hell aren't we getting the game earlier?
I'm definitely not upset about FF coming to the 360. As long as Sony still has the ability to keep on pumping out games on the PS3, I don't matter if it's rabidly successful or not.
What I DO care about, are the inherent problems involved with making a multiplatform game. It scares me a bit that Final Fantasy XIII won't be exactly what it was meant to be or that we're not getting it on time due to the decision to go multiplatform.
Either way, I still love the franchise. Can't wait to play it.
