One can only assume Bioware made a deal with MS which they deemed better for them than the potential sales net by releasing it for the PS3 (plus not having to port the code for the PS3). Why do you think exclusive titles exist? Fanboyism?

I think it's more that the current version of the API over-simplifies things: playing music is easy, but it doesn't have a way for the devs to access the individual files themselves (cause in most cases just playing the music would suffice).

College residence halls get confusing and annoying when trying to get multiple students online, on a LAN, and authenticated with the college network. Also the campus network seems to have some security or firewall which makes seeing other players on the network difficult to impossible. The solution has always been to play with just a switch.

Although the phone tethering is an idea I hadn't thought of before.

This still makes it difficult, because 90% of the time I play on a LAN we are in a place with no internet connection, just a hub or a switch and some CAT5 cables...

Not anymore. No, this is not an overreaction -- LAN play is that important to me in RTS games.
