I've barely had enough time to play the story because I've been so wrapped up in playing co-op Horde.
So far that I have played though, I agree the story is shallow and the characters are lacking in depth. I think they could have really done a better job of delving into the characters in the first gears so that people would maybe feel a bit more involved. Instead we got a new game that is improved, but is pretty much a new version of the first one.
I think regardless of those pitfalls the game looks a heck of a lot better, the environmental destruction is a nice addition and overall it's much more polished.
Anyway, like the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
I haul ass over there GTA style, do a barrel-role through the front door, dodge the neckbeard browsing the stack of discounted Family Guy DVD's, cartwheel past the lady pushing the stroller filled to the brim with screaming human spawn, stealth my way through the washers and dryers to the games section, snatch up my necessary item(s) and then sprint down the isle to the cash register where I inevitably hit the soda fridge for a Mountain Dew and then head back home.
My record is 18 minutes. My last attempt would have set a new record had I not been forced to wade through an isle full of mouth breathing fanboys arguing over 360/PS3 uberness.
Huh... well I guess I'll be the first to say I liked Undertow. It's especially awesome if you have an HDTV. The effects are pretty fantastic. The co-op is fun too.
I do feel the classes are pretty unbalanced though. The larger ships and such are neat but have a very slow firing rate and consequently the regular diver class can just swim around them and take them out instantly.
Anyway... aside from talking about the game itself, 200ms points is probably worth it to me. I don't think I'll pay the $5.00 though if this little "glitch" or what-have-you falls through.
This is a whoooooooooole nother can of worms here, and I won't stray too far off topic, but I have to agree. I'm an advocate of the right to bare arms, but I do feel there needs to be line drawn somewhere. If you have serious mental problems, or if you're on some kind of psychotics medication, that should be a BIG RED FLAG that that person probably shouldn't be able to just scoop up a gun on a Saturday afternoon as though he's out for a slurpie.
As per usual, we all need to find someone or something else to blame.
I'm sure the dude being on psycho-meds and then cutting them off had NOTHING to do with this. I'm sure the fact that he had mental problems was not the problem. Clearly, video games did this. Clearly.
What's wrong with you people. Why can't you see this it's so obvious!1!!5
(my eyes are rolling out of my f*cking head right now)
What I'd like to see changed if anything is your player pulling the pin when throwing an opponent's grenade back. The pin has already been pulled, so why do they waste time animating it again? it cuts down on realism and also makes throwing a primed grenade back pretty difficult, (and not in a good way).
