Too Human demo now available

Jul 14th 2008 4:43PM (Joystiq)
I got through about 35 minutes of the demo before I quit. I even skipped one of the cut scenes because it was just...bad. The graphics are decent, the animations are bad, environment is uninteresting (It's a BIG METAL CAVE THING and this goes on FOREVER, cool right?) The combat sucks. I like the idea of using the right thumbstick, unfortunately, they didn't nail the execution. It would be nice if you swung your sword where you moved the right stick, unfortunately, it doesn't. They made it complex by having you hold it in a direction, or tap it, or rotate it, but it does not work right and you end up constantly attacking enemies you didn't want to, most of the time ones you didn't even SEE.

This looks like another "Good concept poor execution" kind of game. I actually bought Dark Sector because I LIKED THE CONCEPT, and for once I didn't want to trust reviews, I ended up getting the sub-par game I was warned about. It looks like I'll get more of the same if I buy this. Good idea, but terrible demo, lets hope they fix this.

Totem Talk: Why cloth and leather?

Jul 10th 2008 6:19PM (WoW)
My main is a hunter, so I like mail, but I'm all for stats, so if there are better stats on a leather belt over a mail one, I don't see the armor difference as being terribly important, it's all about agility!

New DS Lite colors found in the wild

WHAAT?

I've ALWAYS wanted a lime-green system, ever since my gameboy color.

Must have taken forever...I wish they filmed how many takes it took, must have been like that Christmas special for Mythbusters...

Rumor: Three new colors for Europe

Mar 30th 2008 4:41PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I have a white DS lite...and it is great! But...I've always wanted a red portable. I've had a gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy pocket, gameboy sp, gameboy advance, DS phat, ds lite...but NONE were red. That is why when I get a PSP (yes, I'm thinking of getting one for the few exclusive games they have :O) I'd get that new red one, just looks nice.

These Game Boy plushies smile back at you

I hope you're happy DS Fanboy, you just activated my "impulse buy" sensors, and now 2 minutes later I have a confirmation email from paypal saying I paid $16 total for a light green gameboy color plushie. O.O Still, I got the last one, that was neat.

Miyamoto: 'DS was designed with mothers and school in mind'

Eh, I don't like the C button thing, because some games could use 4 little buttons next to each other sometimes...plus doing OoT on Wii with it is...interesting. I know that's not really backing up my argument since the controller was meant for gamecube games but....ack! Shoulder buttons.

DS Daily: Lost

Jan 29th 2008 6:52PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Ever since you guys mentioned the C.A.G cart case, I haven't lost one! Not that I did before, mind you, I keep my games in my DS, the case my DS is always in, or their game cases. It's my BROTHER who leaves his ds carts lying around...heck, he doesn't use his DS anymore, really. D:

Promotional Consideration: Quote-based strategy

Jan 13th 2008 10:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
It never got stale, really. But I guess they meant that if the next game was exactly the same, it would be bad.
