Review: Monster Hunter Tri

Apr 28th 2010 10:18PM (Joystiq)
This game looks great, but I don't have a Wii. I sold it after the realization that it had no games for me. I guess one does come along like, what, every year?

Sony offers PS3 hard drive upgrade service in Japan

Apr 28th 2010 10:16PM (Joystiq Playstation)
This seems pretty dumb. I haven't replaced a PS3's hard drive myself, but I have done so plenty of times with my computer. It is really easy to change hard drives. People just need to get over it. It's not like they have to solder components or something trickier. I guess Sony is happy about this new source of revenue though.

JoyStats: Reaching Rank 50 in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 takes about 282 hours

Apr 28th 2010 10:13PM (Joystiq)
Bad Company 2 was good, but not without it's flaws. The knifing on pc is just plain awful. You will make contact, hear the clunk and see blood spurts, but deal no damage. Then of course they kill you. I'm not sure if it is the netcode or what, but it is incredibly obnoxious. I also would like to see 64 player maps like Battlefield 2. I do however, like the lack of prone and the lack of jets. Prone diving was annoying, so getting rid of prone totally eliminates that. Jets were the most annoying thing in BF2. You had no chance of killing them on the ground, and they were just free to kill you. Good pilots put up absurd ratios.

Madden 11 videos chant new 'Simpler, Quicker, Deeper' design mantra

Apr 27th 2010 3:34PM (Joystiq)
I have to say, I think Madden is a game that has barely changed since it went 3d. I stopped buying it a few years ago due to the lack of difference between the various iterations. They would generally just introduce some new element (hit stick, the "playmaker" tool, truck stick etc) and some small changes that don't affect gameplay much. Even though its been a long time since the last time I've played Madden, I'm sure I'll pick it up and it will feel stale very quickly.

Second Just Cause 2 DLC pack coming May 25 [update]

Apr 27th 2010 3:25PM (Joystiq)
Nice to see some DLC for reasonable prices. It seems like it's becoming the industry standard to try and screw customers out of content by pricing small amounts of content higher than they need to be. Nice to see a DLC that doesn't make me want to throw things.

ASUS Eee PC T101MT review

Apr 27th 2010 3:21PM (Engadget)
This netbook looks really interesting but judging for the assessment, it lacked in a lot of key areas. I'm also wary about blowing 500 bucks on something that is just supposed to be a netbook. I think $300 if more the sweet spot, and in all honestly I could care less about the touch technology. Maybe when it eventually gets cheaper, I'll consider it.
