DS Daily: The lost Color

May 11th 2007 10:09AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I still have an original flavor GBA and a big "phat" white Gameboy.

I actually used my original gameboy recently to play Castlevania Adventure 1 and 2.

Also I've got a Gameboy Camera to toy around with.

As for favorite classics, Link's Awakening is certainly up there as is Tetris.

Motocross Challenge loses publisher, passes savings onto you

I hate that the GBA format is dying. The DS is well capable of playing GBA carts.

They use less battery power (I've played DS games witht he red light on only to switch to a GBA game with full green).

Not every game needs useless touch screen features.

It's perfect for more NES and SNES ports.

Contra on the NES is just so fun and infinitely replayable.

Just Askin': Does Second Life Have a Shelf Life?

Mar 14th 2007 9:48AM (Second Life Insider)
I agree wholey that it has a shelf life, generally a pretty short one at that. You want more rpoof, look at the sky rocketing total residents numbersvsthe more or less stable "Currently active" residents. How many people play once then never return?

Anyway, I fall into the category of "don't use SL much". I just don't have the time really. People talk about SL being the "future of the internet" but who wants to waste time walking around and researching information in a 3D processor hog world when they can open google in a text/image browser and find out the same information in seconds.

Hold ametting in 3D space? Isn't itmuch less awkward and easier to use video teleconfrencing?

SL is essentially a huge gimmick. And it gets old pretty quick.

DS Daily: Are we going too far?

Hey now, Wall Street Kid was a lot fo fun. Seriously!

Poll: Is the Game Boy dead?

Mar 9th 2007 10:17AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The DS can play GBA games, I don't see why the GBA games have to stop comming. Not ever game needs touch or dual screen ability and I would imagine GBA games are cheaper to develop. I've probably bought more GBA games than I have DS games since my Ds was first purchased, and I allready owned a regular GBA.

My daughters have I think one Batz pony. I swear it looks like My Little Pony's snooty friend.

I like pi!

I ought to find a place to start selling my Pi T-shirts again to commemorate this event.

DS Daily: Headphones?

Feb 6th 2007 9:50AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I play mostly with the sound turned down. I probably have games in my DS Library I wouldn't even recognize the opening theme music from if I heard it.

AOL Gets It

Exploration certainly is the key. The best "Corporate run" sim I've been on so far was the Nissan one where they gave away free Sentras. I spent several entire log in sessions just exploring the area (I log in for fairly short periods) from flying up in the vending machine to driving various vehicles on the road course (including the sentras I picked up).
