And, honestly, you probably never will. It's not a particularly difficult concept, and if you're struggling with understanding it, I don't know what to tell you.

Is it hard to understand why people might want to form a community around their raiders, instead of just having everyone coming together once a week, or whatever?

It's the difference between being friends with benefits and having a relationship. Both can get messy, but with one you at least have somewhat similar expectations and don't have to worry (as much) about mixed signals.

I'm amused by the people who are outraged that this poster's opinion is that they should learn to do the spec that does the most damage.

You know what, I'm outraged by the fact that all these raids expect me to spec resto to heal! I WANT TO SPEC FERAL! RAWR! I DON'T WANT TO LEARN HOW TO USE THESE SNAZZY WILD GROWTH AND SWIFTMEND SPELLS! IF REJUVENATION, LIFEBLOOM, AND REGROWTH AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU, STOP TAKING SO MUCH DAMAGE. SILLY RAID.

I wonder how many of the 438 (at writing) comments here are by people who actually would use the book.

I vaguely realized there was a mechanic here when the bag came with extra items. I didn't actually figure it out until we killed him the 4th time. Yay for being overgeared?

Heh, yesterday during a H VH random, I was healing. One of those JC quest items drop, the ones that sell for a few hundred gold. Everyone rolled greed, except for mister tank who seems to think he's something special. I asked him "What the hell?" and he answers, "I'm a jc." So I glance over his gear, notice he doesn't have a single dragon's eye, and pull him up in WoW-heroes. Nope. He lied, he's not even maxed in either of his professions, and neither of them is JC.

So, I say in party "There are two things I don't like. Ninjas, and liars. Peace." and drop group, right on the boss. Dick move? So is ninja'ing. And I'm pretty sure the rest of the group were all friends.

I'm the guy that's too loyal for his own good. You know, the guy who joined a casual raiding guild after hitting 80, and now has outprogressed them. I mean, I really want them to succeed. I've turned down definite easy gear raids for chances to help them progress, only to watch them wipe and wipe. I've got the gear, skill, and reputation (as well as the class and spec) to be in a real raiding guild... but I really like my guildies and would feel way too guilty if I left them.
