Kirby: Mass Attack review: Pink, puffy and preposterous

Sep 21st 2011 7:04PM (Joystiq)
I've been playing this game since I got it yesterday and as much fun as I've been having, I couldn't help but feel deja vu... Pikmin. It's so similar to a 2D, simplified version of Pikmin. Swarming enemies with my guys, flinging the Kirbys at the enemies, using them to destroy stuff... I feel like Olimar and these Kirbys are my Pikmin. Not a bad thing, per se...

Oh, and the mini-games are AMAZING. I'm not much for mini-games usually, but these are awesome and rather deep for mini-games.

Europe's Sonic Generations CE prevents your death with inclusion of a gold ring

So if we buy 50 of these (therefore obtaining 50 rings), I take it we get to go to the Special Zone. That or just inescapable debt.

Quantum Conundrum preview: Inter-dimensional charm

With Kim Swift in charge of this, I have no worries about the quality of this game. It will clearly be worth the purchase.

Though honestly, I would love to be able to try to use two dimensions at once. Even if it implodes the universe a little. Seems like a fair trade-off. You know, for science.

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures compared visually

@Aguiluz

Doubt it. I don't know your reason for asking, but if it's that you don't want to purchase the toys, I believe it will come with at least one toy. Think of it as a much newer version of Nintendo's R.O.B. Essentially, it's a part of the game that's extended into an accessory. And in this case it's also a memory card.

Portal live-action film is pretty much the best live-action film

@mrlewis

I agree. Completely destroyed the atmosphere. I wanted to mention that but forgot... didn't seem much like Portal, but I suppose they needed some antagonist(s) and, since they didn't include GLaDOS, they threw in guards or whatever?

Maybe I'll get downvoted for this but I don't care, I'm just gonna say it.

Truly disappointing. Because it didn't have GLaDOS, it didn't have Wheatley, it didn't have Cave Johnson, it didn't even have that random male prerecorded voice at the beginning of Portal 2... not even a turret! I mean, the special effects were nice, yes, but... really, if it wasn't for the Portal gun I would not have realized it was Portal. GLaDOS made the game what it was. This... anyways, I digress. Kudos for the special effects.

This would make a great trailer though... and yet, still, one line, a single line from GLaDOS at the end would make it the perfect trailer to an amazing movie.

Don't worry. You are. But at least you let us all know that you had to.

Trine slashed to $5 on Steam

Actually, last E3, Atlus announced they would be developing an XBLA version of Trine. So it is more than wishful thinking.

Ironically, asking not to get downvoted did not protect you from the inevitable result. And neither did attempting to be humorous in describing the link. At least I hope you were attempting to be humorous, because if that's how you really talk, I shudder to imagine what conversing with you would be like.
