A man was stabbed in front of a queue of people waiting to buy the latest edition of a computer game.
Up to 100 people witnessed the knife attack outside the Gamestation store in Croydon, ahead of Monday's midnight release of Grand Theft Auto IV.
Police said the 23-year-old victim was walking past the queue when he was stabbed several times by a hooded man who appeared to be waiting in line.

Metal Gear Online beta delayed

Apr 21st 2008 3:37AM (Joystiq)
Its a shambles. Shame on you Konami and Sony, you really couldnt put any capacity planning in place to foresee this?
Rockstar, I hope you're watching this and seeing how not to implement online play.

Some Metal Gear Online beta codes invalid, downloads impossible

Apr 18th 2008 5:03AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Maybe Konami will extend the beta given all the teething problems , in the same way the Halo3 beta was extended.

Their website performance is a joke, obviously no proper thought has gone into capacity planning for this event. Shame on you Konami..

A harp made from frickin' laser beams

Feb 15th 2008 6:32AM (Engadget)
Hmm, how about Engadget have a bio page for each contributor, it would help me decide whether or not to rag on the author of this article for reporting something thats 20 years old as news ("hey cut the guy some slack, he wasnt born when the laser-harp maestro was doing his stuff" etc etc)
If the bio page listed kit owned, interests etc, it might even help cut down the calls of 'fanboy' when they write a neutral article about the new Apple/Microsoft/Lebedev kit, if we know what they have a particular interest in.
