Here's a "no" vote for the linkblog. I like the way nothing new has been posted here in a while. Keep it in the emails -- they're great!

One of the major problems with the DVR argument is that you simply don't have any where near the selection available online. With the internet, I can go online with the task of finding a program and have the program on my hard drive in under an hour. With a DVR, I have to wait until that program is broadcast. If, for example, I am doing this searching from the office before heading home for the day, with the desire to watch the program that evening, the DVR is a no-go.

How can a photo be live? Photos are always snapshots of a moment from the past.

How many times have you typed a search into Google only to see Wikipedia as one of the first few results. Wikipedia would be a huge win for a company going after Google's core sites in this type of scenario.

@Gregory: College is not pointless. I don't see that ever happening. Education will always be valuable. Sure, there are those who don't find the need for a formalized education, but even the case you mentioned was an educated person--he simply chose to educate himself in a non-institutionalized way.

Doesn't work on my 8125 either.

I read a blog posting over the weekend that claimed the iPhone actually stood up rather well to some drop testing. I'd love to find out whether this is true...without killing an iPhone of my own. Anyone have any video?

Did you really think he could stay away for over 2 months? ;-)
