Shame on the reviewers, if it was any other game without the word 'Final Fantasy' on the cover they would have given that borefest 5/10. They blew away all my goodwill for Square with 13.

I was a tester on TDU, for the 360. I knew it was a fantastic game at the time, and it was a pleasure working with it. Too bad it was foreshadowed by the gloomy prospects of the parent company Atari. I'm glad they decided to keep this IP. I'm also glad the game has been recognised by so many gamers, judging by the comments.

Never buying another FF game again. FF is always a compulsory buy for me. Not anymore. If only I read the Wired review before picking this up.

I've played through about 3 hours, and I really really hate it. It's one track fest after another. The story is so dumb (WTF is a fal'Cie???) and no explanation for all the made up words.

Also, I realise I really hate Japanese games now. WTF is with the stupid cringe inducing cliche moments? "Heroes don't run from fights" "Heroes don't need plans" "Mums are tough" (spoken by a woman that looks like a school girl with grey hair) OMG I WANTED TO CHUCK THE TV OUT THE WINDOW WITH SUCH LAME DIALOGUE

I seriously hope the game gets better soon, or else it's going the same way as MGS4 went. Seriously, these Japanese developers should up their game soon, or they will go the way of the dinosaurs.

@Michael - I think you need to go educate yourself. The moment black people or asian people or feminists or jews or gays or lesbians or disabled people (insert minority), the moment any of them start lynching others and control the power structure of the country, that's the moment when you can make that retarded argument of yours.

You mention SUCCESSFULLY, which leads me to conclude you already know that the Saturn came before the Playstation. But wouldn't you say the greatest contributor to the desmise of the Saturn was the original Playstation? The Playstation didn't beat out the Saturn because it was a superior console. It won out through 3rd party support and Sony's deeper pockets.

That's quite a lot of assumptions being made there. Although I could rebut everything, i will only say that the Saturn would have been Nintendo's direct competitor, and who knows who would have won if that was the case.

The decision to release the XBox came before the PS2 was even released. Or are you talking about the PS1?

I have given credit where credit is due, and I always didn't rate Sony very highly ever since they entered the console race, purely on the gaming side of things. In terms of business side and marketing side they do deserve plaudits.

I have no problem with Sony entering the console race. More competition is better for the consumer. What i do have a problem with is are the Sony fanboys who think Sony contributed much to the gaming industry. They have in the business and marketing sense, but on gaming and innovation level they deserve very little credit.

You are deluding yourself. If PS2 wasn't there those developers would have been developing on another system; Dreamcast or Xbox or GC, or perhaps another console manufacturer coming in to fill the void.

Don't talk as if gamers owe Sony anything, they have done nothing for the gaming industry in terms of innovation. The only thing we can credit them for their hip marketing efforts. We don't owe Sony anything other than that.
