The case for an Apple stock split redux

Mar 17th 2010 12:17PM (Engadget)PDA-NET isn't free or official. It's a market add-on, and it's a paid one at that. The free version, post trial period, blocks access to HTTPS sites. $25 isn't a bad, but it's a bad when you can tether for free on iPhone (unless you're an AT&T user, at which point you have bigger problems anyways).
Fring, in my experience is nowhere near as reliable as Skype. This is a typical argument though, and sounds a little like "Why do you care about Photoshop? You could use The Gimp!".
"Non-moron". This is called irony.

Mar 16th 2010 9:44PM (Engadget)It'd be a winning bet to wager that more than half of those people will return the N1 within a few weeks.
The promise of Android and the present reality of Android, sadly, are not one in the same.
Fewer, generally lower quality apps (no Skype, SlingPlayer and these days Plants vs. Zombies are especially damning for me), no official tethering support, no Audible playback (complete deal breaker) and no decent media player for music and an overall inconsistent implementation of multi-touch and design patterns are just a few issues - but they really can't be overlooked for me.
Dont' get me wrong - Android has some high points (Google Listen is fantastic) and at some point it may very well be the superior platform...
But right now, Android is true to it's lineage... it's like Linux. "Nerds" love it, despite it's massive flaws, mostly because it's not Windows (or iPhone OS, in this case).

Mar 16th 2010 9:23PM (Engadget)You can also have them ship it to Canada for use on Rogers Wireless, Bell Canada, and Telus Mobility (all of which run on 850/1900 mhz UMTS).
AT&T is only involved in the sense that they exist and have a network that is compatible with this device.

Mar 12th 2010 4:24PM (Engadget)Somewhat sad how badly the US has fallen behind pretty much the entire planet in wireless technology.

Sony.... are you TRYING to let Microsoft dismantle you this generation? I want to believe, but everything you do shakes my confidence a little more.
Only Killzone 2 can save you now... :)
