InstantAction screenshot tour
The home page of InstantAction.com - the large black abyss to the left runs a rotating series of video previews.
Once you login, you'll be prompted to install an ActiveX control.
Click "Install". It's a painless installation, taking less than 15 seconds.
The InstantAction lobby - you've got game "boxes" in the upper left, Friends just below that, messages, your current party, and party chat - all on one screen.
The Games drawer - the "Stat a Game" tab lets you do just that, in one of the four available games. The "Join a Game" tab lets you view a list of ongoing multiplayer games and jump in.
The "Join a Game" tab listing available multiplayer games.
The InstantAction Inbox, lets you send and receive messages from other players, as well as receive info directly from InstantAction.
The Friends drawer - you can view your friends list, add friends using an email address, or search for players using their InstantAction username.
The Friends List. Note the "Party Address" at the bottom of the screen. You're able to drop that link into a chat or email and have friends instantly join your party.
An InstantAction profile. You can see friends, send an invite, join their party, or send a message.
Editing your own profile. You can add a tagline, your location, but not much else.
The regrettably limited avatar offerings. A rooster? A phone?
The Cyclomite home screen.
The "Mode Select" screen. Note the navigation tree up just above the game's logo, making it simple to backtrack.
Each game requires a one-time download. Cyclomite took less than a minute to load.
The helpful instructions screen preps you before playing. Like the rest of InstantAction, this interface is consistent across the games on the service, making for a unified, console-like experience.
And we're gaming!
Marble Blast Online realtime multiplayer. Very yes.
Note the map selection on the left; you'll be able to purchase additional maps in the future.
ThinkTanks screen. Note the drop-down buffering window. "Buffering occurs in the background and will not interrupt normal navigation." A brief reminder you're playing a web-based game.
But hey! It's 3D!
