After failing miserably trying to create a Pikmin (ended up diverting to this instead) and before trying to produce a facsimile of Futurama's Nibbler, I decided to play God with the Final Fantasy staple Moogle (a Japanese portmanteau of "mole-bat").
Although they have small-to-nonexistant mouths when visualized, in Spore you're not given the option to go without a mouth, so instead of trying to hide it somewhere else on the body, I decided to make the least obtrusive mouth possible.
Though the name pretty much speaks for itself, this is a mash-up of Grimace and an octopus. Unfortunately, the six extra legs could not help him to catch up to the Hamburglarsaurus, who stomped off with his Big Mac.
Note: If you download this character, you might notice some awkwardness with its animation. That elated exterior is unexpectedly elastic.
This originally started out as an attempt to create a question mark as a creature, then Big Bird (epic fail, couldn't afford the feathers), then some horrible mix of the two. The totem pole was supposed to have three heads, but Spore deemed that too complex.
