2K Games continues to emphasize that the console-centric <em>Civilization Revolution</em> is a totally different branch from the PC's <em>Civilization</em> franchise by telling <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/03/14/take-two-new-civilization-will-never-come-to-pc/">MTV's Multiplayer</a> that <em>Revolution</em> will "never" come to PC. It's a similar thing to what we were told at E3 last year when we got our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/12/joystiq-impressions-civilization-revolution/">first chance to see <em>Revolution</em></a>.<br /><br />Jason Bergman, a producer for 2K Games, tells MTV that the game was designed from the ground up to be played with a gamepad. Since the game was announced, many PS3 owners have asked if the game will support a mouse and keyboard. Bergman says, "The answer is no ... The game has not been designed for that [controller]." He highlights again that <em>Revolution</em> is not a port, but an entirely new game. We kinda feel bad for the guy, it sounds like he's been repeating the same defense for the title over and over again since last July.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/18/civilization-revolution-never-coming-to-pc/">Civilization Revolution 'never' coming to PC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Mar 2008 10:30:00 EST. According to<a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3164283"> 1UP's Quartermann</a>'s Nostradamian prediction you might be able to get your <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Bioshock/">BioShock</a></em> fix soon. In the latest rotation of EGM's rumor mill, the exclusivity of the underseas fiasco has been brought into question, and PS3 owners could find themselves frolicking through Rapture sometime in 2008. However, this report contradicts the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/24/levine-confirms-no-ps3-bioshock-and-does-mea-culpa-on-pc-issues/">statement</a> of <em>BioShock's</em> lead designer Ken Levine that the game is not PS3 bound. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/2KGames/">2K Games</a>, <em>would you kindly confirm or deny this rumor?</em><br /><br />Quartermann also has great news for the feverish fans of FOXHOUND who were upset by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/31/metal-gear-solid-4-delayed-until-q2-2008/">recent <em>MGS4</em></a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/01/metal-gear-solid-4-delay-causes-konami-stock-price-to-fall/">delay</a> - a new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Metal%20Gear">Metal Gear</a><em> </em>game for the PSP is on it's way, ready to heal those wounds. Reportedly, Kojima Productions is working on the title right now, which will "take Snake back to the early days of his career." Not his career as a master of espionage, mind you, but his first career as a pastry chef in a small Rhode Island bistro.<br /><br />Also rumored: Sega isn't letting the lukewarm reception of their two first next-gen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sonic/">Sonic</a> games break their stride, as they're apparently hard at work on a new, "real" Sonic game. We don't know whether "real" means a return to the game's classic platforming roots, or if we can expect more creepy <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=mPcGGHtKqyQ">interspecies make-out sessions.</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/10/rumor-bioshock-on-ps3-new-metal-gear-on-psp/">Rumor: BioShock on PS3, new Metal Gear on PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 10 Nov 2007 12:25:00 EST. Contrary to an <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/sid-meiers-civilization-revolution-coming-to-psp/">earlier report</a>, the new <em>Civilization Revolution</em> is not coming out on PSP. The original <a href="http://ir.take2games.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=251368">press release</a> mentioned the game's release on handheld systems -- it appears that 2K Games actually meant handheld system, singular.<br /><br />A recent <a href="http://home.businesswire.com/portal/site/google/index.jsp?ndmViewId=news_view&amp;newsId=20070710005616&amp;newsLang=en">E3 press release</a> shows the title arriving on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS. However, no PSP version was mentioned. When we conatcted a 2K Games representative, they simply said that a PSP version is not announced. Considering how the game's E3 debut will avoid PSP, we believe that the title will never appear on the system. Hopefully, we're wrong.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/10/sid-meiers-civilization-never-announced-for-psp/">Sid Meier's Civilization never announced for PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2007 15:30:00 EST. We're proud to announce the winners of our Xbox 360/PS3 Fanboy <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TheDarkness/">The Darkness</a></em> giveaway. Although Xbox 360 Fanboy dominated with a mountain of entries, we're still glad that the <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com">PS3</a> community stood by this excellent FPS. Here are the winners for Xbox 360 and PS3:<br /><br /><strong>Xbox 360</strong><br />Chris Brown<br />Dion Harris<br />James Parnham<br /><br /><strong>PS3</strong><br />Mike Whitfield<br />Matt Trujillo<br /><br />Congratulations to all the winners!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/10/fanboys-fight-for-the-darkness-winners-revealed/">Fanboys fight for The Darkness winners revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2007 14:15:00 EST. <br />Turns out that the Wii wasn't <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/29/no-civilization-revolution-for-the-wii/">forgotten</a> when Firaxis decided to roll out <em>Civilization Revolution</em> -- we're just getting the game a few months later than the other guys. Is it too much to hope that the delay means we're getting online multiplayer, and it takes a little more time to work out the kinks with Nintendo's new system? Maybe we'll find out at <a href="http://nintendowiifanboy.com/tag/e307">E3</a>, but we wouldn't bet on an answer coming that quickly. However, since 2K Games will be discussing the game with (and demonstrating for?) lucky attendees, at least a few juicy details are likely. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/">Civilization Revolution</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/#305840"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/civ_revolutions_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/#305839"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/civ_revolutions_06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/#305838"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/civ_revolutions_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/#305837"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/civ_revolutions_05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/civilization-revolution-1/#305836"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/nintendo.joystiq.com/media/2007/07/civ_revolutions_07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/10/2k-games-bio-shocking-e3-2007-lineup/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/10/civ-revolution-headed-wii-ward-after-all/">Civ Revolution headed Wii-ward after all</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2007 13:20:00 EST. Up on the Marketplace are six <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/07/09/mlb-2k7-in-game-content.aspx">new stadiums</a> to download for MLB 2K7 offered up in four convenient packages. The six stadiums (Sportsman's Park, Forbes Field, Griffith Stadium, Shibe Park, Polo Grounds and Crosley Field) can be purchased bundled together for 800 Microsoft points or in three seperate "two packs" for 300 Microsoft points each. So, if purchased together you'd save 100 Microsoft points making each stadium roughly 133 points. In "two packs" it works out to be 150 points a stadium. Get that? If you have the extra cash and really think paying a few bucks for a stadium is worth it, then go baseball fan go and spend away.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/09/new-mlb-2k7-stadiums-will-cost-you/">New MLB 2K7 stadiums will cost you</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2007 10:30:00 EST. This latest trailer introduces gamers to some of the legendary players that will be available in the upcoming game. The video shows off Joe Montana, Dick Butkus, Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, and William "The Refrigerator" Perry. According to the video, the final game will boast over 240 legendary players, which we're assuming means there will be <em>less</em> than 250. We have to admit, at this point, we're really digging the presentation of <em>All-Pro</em> quite a bit.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/02/video-the-legends-of-all-pro-football-2k8/">Video: the legends of All-Pro Football 2K8</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 02 Jul 2007 09:30:00 EST. Not to be left out of the <em>Civ </em>lovin', the PSP is getting a <em>Civ </em>fix in the form of the brand new rendition, <em>Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution</em>. The official <a href="http://ir.take2games.com/ReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=251368">press release</a> is a bit loose on exactly <em>which </em>handhelds will be getting this<em> </em>title, saying only that <em>Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution</em> will be coming to "next gen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/02/sid-meier-keeping-eye-on-civilization-for-consoles/">consoles</a> and handhelds." We think we can safely assume a Nintendo DS version will be dropping in tune with the Sony PSP's release but hey, why get the Nintendo version? (wink, wink). The game is said to have "extensive multiplayer capabilities" with "integrated video and voice chat." Voice chat on the PSP? Maybe not, but at least having "extensive multiplayer capabilities" and "downloadable content" should prove a worthwhile venture on the PSP, especially for <em>Civ </em>gamers on the go. 16 civilizations are making the grade here, with Sid Meier himself in the hotseat as lead designer. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/sid-meiers-civilization-revolution-coming-to-new-gen-consoles-a/"><em>Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution</em></a> is set for a Spring 2008 release, so we imagine it won't be much longer before we can share some screen shots. Stay tuned.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/sid-meiers-civilization-revolution-coming-to-new-gen-consoles-a/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/sid-meiers-civilization-revolution-coming-to-psp/">Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution coming to PSP</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jun 2007 16:00:00 EST. As of yet, no announced plans for a PC release. That's because consoles rule and PC's drool. (/Humor) In all seriousness, this endeavor should pose quite a challenge, as the console audience is vastly different in control and appeal (especially considering the plethora of trigger-happy preteens from FPS overload). <br /><br />This marks the first time <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/02/sid-meier-keeping-eye-on-civilization-for-consoles/">Sid Meier</a> actually has a hand in producing a <em>Civilization </em>console release, which we hope will bear significance on its quality and polish. Sixteen civilizations will be available for player control with real-time interaction with leaders and advisors, packed with "extensive multiplayer capabilities" featuring "integrated video and voice chat." No screenshots as of yet, but that should change as the sands of time bear down on us. <br /><br />According to Sid Meier, "<em>Civilization Revolution</em> is the game I've always wanted to make! We are excited to take advantage of the power of next generation consoles and the ingenuity of handhelds, to create a great and unique strategy game for newcomers to the series, as well as the millions of fans around the world who enjoy <em>Civilization</em> on the PC." We guess he wasn't kidding when he <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/sid-meier-loves-his-playstation-3-so-much-hes-going-to-develop/">professed his love</a> for Sony. Title <em>Civilization Revolution</em>, the game is reportedly the game that Sid Meier has always wanted to make. We're inclined to agree with him, since <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_%28computer_game%29">he's already made it four times</a>. Joking aside, <em>Civilization Revolution</em> looks to bring a console level of "action-packed" goodness to the series, which has traditionally been a relatively slow affair on PCs. The new console iteration promises to streamline the experience, giving console gamers the instant gratification to which they've become accustomed. <em>Civilization Revolution</em> will also include multiplayer with integrated video and voice chat. Of course, the big question on everyone's mind is whether or not the game can appeal to both console gamers and a loyal PC following.<br /> <br /> We'll find out when the game releases in Spring 2008.<br /> <br /> [Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/sid-meiers-civilization-revolution-coming-to-new-gen-consoles-a/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/28/civilization-revolution-to-revolutionize-360/">Civilization Revolution to revolutionize 360</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jun 2007 13:00:00 EST. Today is your last day to enter our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/fanswag-fanboys-fight-for-the-darkness/">Fanboys Fight for <em>The Darkness</em></a> giveaway. Not to be cocky, but we currently have just over twice as many entries as <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/giveaway-fanboys-fight-for-the-darkness/">PS3 Fanboy</a>. If you don't already know, whichever site gets more entries gets an extra copy of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TheDarkness/">The Darkness</a></em> to give away. So far, it's looking pretty good for us to have that third copy. If you'd like your shot at <em>The Darkness</em>, head over to the official contest page and enter. If you don't, then the Darkness will possess you and give you cool superpowers. Wait ... no ... if you don't, then the Darkness <em>won't</em> possess you and give you cool superpowers*, so hurry up and enter already.<br /><br /><em>*Regardless of whether or not you enter this contest, you more than likely will not be possessed by anything other than jealousy of the winners, or elation, should you turn out to be one those winners.</em><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/26/final-reminder-win-the-darkness-from-x3f/">Final reminder: win The Darkness from X3F</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 26 Jun 2007 16:30:00 EST. The Entertainment Software Rating Board is looking to rate gameplay trailers, according to information obtained by Gamasutra. <br /><br />Footage for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/D3Publisher/">D3 Publisher's</a> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/DarkSector/">Dark Sector</a> </em>was requested to be pulled because it contained "excessive or offensive content," even though it was behind an age gate. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/2KGames/">2K Games</a> told Gamasutra that they had to receive a separate rating for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TheDarkness/">The Darkness</a></em> trailer and that "game publishers that do not comply with the age gate requirement are subject to enforcement actions by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ESRB/">ESRB</a>," though what those actions entail is not made clear.<br /><br />If the ESRB is indeed moving to rate trailers, many questions are left unanswered. Our biggest concern would be with user-created footage and machinima. Would the ESRB see that as falling under their sphere of influence? Much like the <em>Oblivion</em> "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/12/esrbs-censorship-wound-re-opened-user-made-content-to-break-th/">skin-cident</a>", could publishers be punished for content made by the community? And does the organization have the manpower to enforce such a policy change?<br /><br /><strong>Update: </strong>Game Politics has provided some <a href="http://gamepolitics.com/2007/06/26/esrbs-spanking-of-dark-sector-darkness-trailers-is-nothing-new/">historical context</a> to this news, noting that the ESRB's actions are not without precedent.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/esrb-seeks-to-rate-game-trailers/">ESRB seeks to rate game trailers [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 19:28:00 EST. We've seen all the Darkness powers put to good use. Kill all the lights, yadda, yadda, yadda. What we haven't seen much, however, is multiplayer. Lucky for us, GameTrailers has posted a <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/20903.html">video</a> showing off exactly that. While the multiplayer appears to offer the same run and gun action as the campaign, it also offers up a new shape-shifting twist. Players are allowed to turn into Darklings (the little goblin/imp things) at any time. As noted by the video, Darklings are small and agile, whereas humans have superior firepower. Honestly, it's a pretty neat little twist, one we're looking forward to trying. Check out the video after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/watch-darkness-shape-shifting-multiplayer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Watch Darkness shape-shifting multiplayer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/25/watch-darkness-shape-shifting-multiplayer/">Watch Darkness shape-shifting multiplayer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Jun 2007 18:30:00 EST. We're having a little competition with <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com">PS3 Fanboy</a>, you see. Whichever site gets more entries also gets a third copy of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TheDarkness/">The Darkness</a></em> to give away, leaving the losing site with a paltry two.<br /><br />It's super easy to enter. All you have to do is go to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/fanswag-fanboys-fight-for-the-darkness/">official contest post</a> and leave a comment that finishes this sentence: <br /><br />"The 360 version of The Darkness is better than the PS3 version because ... "<br /><br />See? Easy, right? Head over to the contest page and get commenting. We're accepting entries until 11:59 EDT tomorrow. In celebration of this glorious gloom, 2K Games decided to give us 5 copies of the game. The only problem is, they didn't bother to tell us <em>which</em> version. As such, we have decided to collaborate with the heathens over at PS3 Fanboy. We came up with a cordial little contest, and we need your help to settle it. How will you do that? With a good old-fashioned flamewar, of course! All you have to do is:<br />
<ol>
    <li>Finish this sentence: "The 360 version of <em>The Darkness</em> is better than the PS3 version because ... "</li>
    <li>Submit your idea to our comments section.</li>
</ol>
Two winners will be chosen from Xbox 360 Fanboy. Here's the kicker: if Xbox 360 Fanboy receives more entries than <a href="http://playstation.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/giveaway-fanboys-fight-for-the-darkness/">PS3 Fanboy</a>, we'll also give away a third copy to another lucky winner. As an added bonus, all winners will receive a prize package from 2K Games including both the game and a special <em>The Darkness</em> comic. We'll accept entries until June 26, 2007, so get cracking. Please note that this giveaway is limited to U.S. residents only, ages 18 and older (it's an M rated game after all). On the first try, it's played as a straight up FPS with guns blazing (hint: this won't get you very far). The second time through, the player uses forethought and all the Plasmid skills available. The third time, he takes on the Big Daddy. Unfortunately, the battle with the Big Daddy is cut short, so we don't get to witness the whole thing (you may recall that it takes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/05/video-bioshock-big-daddy-big-game/"><em>a lot</em> of firepower</a> to bring these guys down).<br /><br />Also, we noticed what appear to be enemy health bars in the video too. Hopefully that's a feature that can be turned off. Kind of ruins the suspense, you know?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/22/video-bioshock-open-ended-gameplay/">Video: BioShock open-ended gameplay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Jun 2007 10:30:00 EST. Oh, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/14/video-the-darkness-more-teh-hawtness-1/">we have</a>? Well, sorry, but it does. We just happened to get a boat load of <em>The Darkness</em> images, and we'd be total jerks if we bogarted them all to ourselves. As such, we've dumped them all into a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-darkness-1/">massive gallery</a>. Truly, it is a gallery so massive, that is in danger of collapsing into itself, thus forming a neutron star. You'd best take a look at it before its darkness consumes us all. Oh, and we just might have some very spiffy <em>The Darkness</em> related news soon, so keep your eyes peeled.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/21/feast-your-eyes-on-the-darkness-huge-gallery/">Feast your eyes on The Darkness, huge gallery</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jun 2007 15:45:00 EST. We've seen our share of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/08/1up-details-first-few-hours-of-bioshock/"><em>BioShock</em> previews</a>, but this one really focuses on the actual gameplay experience. In particular, the preview highlights the borderline survival horror aspect of the game, noting the literally insane AI of your enemies. If you've been wanting to get a feel for the things you will actually be doing in <em>BioShock</em>, it's a pretty good read. Be warned though, there are some minor spoilers contained in the preview, though there is nothing drastic.<br /><br />If you've dismissed <em>BioShock</em> as "just another shooter," you should definitely check out the preview. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/01/time-to-get-wet-bioshock-gets-official-release-date/">August</a> can't come soon enough.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31749">Evil Avatar</a>]<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/21/bioshock-preview-reveals-tasty-gameplay-info/">BioShock preview reveals tasty gameplay info</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Jun 2007 13:45:00 EST. After being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/manhunt-2-rejected-in-uk/">rejected</a> by the BBFC in the UK, Rockstar's <em>Manhunt 2</em> is seemingly getting banned in America as well. According to <a href="http://gamepolitics.com/2007/06/19/breaking-manhunt-2-rated-adults-only-by-esrb/">Game Politics</a>, the "murder simulator" is getting an AO (Adults Only) rating, which effectively bans it from all major video game retailers.<br /><br />Take Two games will certainly fight this decision as fiercely as possible in the coming days. Remember, the game's release is supposed to be only a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NIJ35C/002-5813720-7043256?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=prey0f&amp;linkCode=xm2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creativeASIN=B000NIJ35C">few weeks</a> away ...<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/retail-murder-esrb-rates-manhunt-2-adults-only/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/20/manhunt-2-gets-ao-rating-from-esrb/">Manhunt 2 gets AO rating from ESRB</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jun 2007 09:15:00 EST. Of course, if you're going to talk about <em>BioShock</em>, you might as well talk about the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/finalized-big-daddy-figure-is-oh-so-lovable/">Big Daddy</a>. It seems that he (it?) has wormed his way into every bit of <em>BioShock</em> promotional material out there, and this video is no different. Specifically, the video deals with the relationship between the Big Daddy character and the Little Sister. The two are always together and will work together when confronting threats. It's really an interesting look at how the pair interacts with each other. It's almost heartwarming to see the Big Daddy affectionately pat the Little Sister on the head, though the feeling is somewhat sullied knowing that he most likely <em>drilled someone into a wall</em> only moments before. Watch the video and tell us what you think.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/video-bioshock-developer-diary/">Video: BioShock developer diary</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Jun 2007 15:00:00 EST. Next week, PS3 gamers are finally going to get (shock!) a <em>real</em> game. 2K Games is releasing <em>The Darkness</em> to the Americas next week. We've received a batch of new screenshots from the game, showcasing some of its brutal, gory gameplay. We're working with 2K Games right now to have something real special for you ... Stay tuned for more details.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/19/get-ready-for-the-darkness/">Get ready for The Darkness</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Jun 2007 11:00:00 EST. The Big Daddy figure, which will be included in the <em>BioShock</em> limited edition, stands six inches tall, is a sculpted wonder, and is beautifully painted. So beautifully painted that you can even see the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine-1/277440/">blood splatter</a> on his drill! And to be perfectly honest, we were expecting a tiny two inch tall Big Daddy mini-fig in the limited edition. But this six inch beast is more along the lines of total awesomeness. Pictures of the finalized Big Daddy figure have been lovingly placed in the gallery below for your viewing pleasure. So, is the extra $10 for the limited edition becoming well worth it?<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/15/finalized-big-daddy-figure-is-oh-so-lovable/">Finalized Big Daddy figure is oh so lovable</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 15 Jun 2007 14:00:00 EST. It's got a nice narrative by the Darkness itself. It shows off aspects of the game not yet seen, in a more underworld-type setting. It's making the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/27/the-darkness-gets-a-june-birth-date/">25th of June</a> all the more painful a wait. Which is somewhat of a good thing, as the anticipation only makes us more excited. Are you going to devour some hearts later this month?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/14/video-the-darkness-more-teh-hawtness-1/">Video: The Darkness? We loves <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BioShock/">BioShock</a></em>. <em>Loves it</em>. With the impending release only months away, we were pleased to see a mountain of video coverage on <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com">GameTrailers</a>. We had meant to post it earlier, but we were distracted by <a href="http://www.icanhascheezburger.com/">lolcats</a>. The series of videos covers the many plasmids available in <em>BioShock</em>. Some are fairly simple, like the Winter Blast plasmid, which freezes your enemies. Others are a little more complicated, like the Security Bullseye plasmid, which automatically makes your enemy the target of nearby security bots. All in all, the plasmids look to add a considerable degree of strategy and fun to <em>BioShock</em>. Check out the videos after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/13/video-bioshock-plasmids-aplenty/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: BioShock plasmids aplenty</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/13/video-bioshock-plasmids-aplenty/">Video: BioShock plasmids aplenty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Jun 2007 15:45:00 EST. GameTrailers has posted the <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?type=wmv&amp;id=20414">debut trailer</a> of <em>All-Pro Football 2K8</em>. The trailer is heavy on the hip-hop, which is to be expected based on the game's previously <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/06/all-pro-football-cover-art-and-mad-beats/">announced</a> soundtrack (not to mention other <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/24/the-automator-lays-it-down-for-nba-2k7/">2K sports soundtracks</a>). The <em>All-Pro</em> engine looks nice, with plenty of jukes, spins, and tackles on which to feast your eyes. We have to wonder though, can <em>any</em> non-licensed football title stand up next to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ElectronicArts/">Electronic Arts</a> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Madden/">Madden</a></em> juggernaut? Thus, it comes as no surprise that the first official trailer of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/09/liam-neeson-to-provide-voice-for-fallout-3/"><em>Fallout 3</em></a> has caused undo stress on the Intertubes and rushing streams of data to burst from the weakened joints. The trailer reveals nothing in the way of gameplay, but it does show off some very pretty in-engine footage. If you've been salivating for some post-apocalyptic goodness, look no further. Oh, and in case the headline didn't tip you off, the game is expected to drop in the Fall of 2008. For the completely obsessed, you may now <a href="http://fallout.bethsoft.com/">download the trailer</a> and play it repeatedly for the next year and a half.<br /><br />Also, for the record, we'd like to add that Ron Perlman needs to do more video game work. That guy is like butter, makes anything better.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/05/fallout-3-set-for-fall-2008-release/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/05/fallout-3-will-fall-in-fall-2008/">Fallout 3 will fall in Fall (2008)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Jun 2007 14:45:00 EST. Dante described the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Divine_Comedy#The_Circles_of_Hell">9th circle</a> of Hell as a frozen wasteland, made so by the chilling wind created by the Devil's wings. Meanwhile, Hell as depicted in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_%26_Ted%27s_Bogus_Journey"><em>Bill &amp; Ted's Bogus Journey</em></a> (truly a masterwork of the 20th century) gives its inhabitants a wide array of personalized punishments from which a sinner must choose. In <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/TheDarkness/">The Darkness</a></em>, it seems, Hell and its appearance are completely at the whim of the Devil. In the video above it is depicted as a war zone (reminiscent of WWII) with a blackened sky and withered landscape. We have to admit, listening to the Devil say "this is my dream of you" is pretty damned creepy. The video preview discusses the many aspects of <em>BioShock</em>, from its cinematic qualities to its accurate simulations of environmental effects. Irrational's Ken Levine notes that it was important for <em>BioShock</em> to perform according to a gamer's expectations. For instance, an enemy who is caught on fire should seek water to put it out. Similarly, shocking a pool of water with electricity should electrocute any enemies standing in the pool. Other topics discussed include <em>BioShock</em>'s viability as an FPS, enemy AI, and the game's overall structure. We're not going to lie. In keeping with our not-lying policy, we're reporting on a report stemming from OPM UK. They say that <em>Bioshock</em> is indeed in development for the PlayStation 3. They don't even say it once. They say multiple times that the game, thought to be exclusive to 360, is in development for Sony's platform. Propaganda spread by the Official PlayStation Magazine, or truth?<br /><br />It's a half-truth. The magazine claims the title isn't an exclusive, but a timed exclusive. If those who really want to play the game can wait the extra year, they'll get their <em>Bioshock</em> on the PS3. 2K Games will bring the title to all other consoles after a while on the 360. Are we excited? Sure. We aren't quite sure how long the exclusive will last on the 360, but estimating from other titles, it can be anywhere from a few months to an entire year. We'll keep you posted on the validity of these reports as they turn up.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]<br /><br />[<em>Update: 2K Games has decided this rumor just ain't true, folks. For now. We've still got hope for an eventual port, however.</em>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/01/rumor-shocking-revelations-bioshock-coming-to-ps3-eventually/">Rumor: Shocking revelations -- Bioshock coming to PS3 eventually [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 01 Jun 2007 17:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/elderscrolls4oblivion?q=oblivion">PS3 version</a> of <em>Oblivion</em> is a shining example of what is possible when you bother to learn the PS3's complex architecture. A lazy port, this was not. Mr. Lafferty is senior producer for the PS3 <em>Oblivion</em> and says the PS3's guaranteed hard drive was extremely helpful in "optimizing things like load times." He also advises that the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/27/no-more-oblivion-after-shivering-isles/"><em>Shivering Isles</em></a> expansion is "being worked on," but could provide no details on "when or how" they'll get that into our eagerly awaiting hands. The interview is a bit modest in its comparisons to the earlier Xbox 360 version, but after reading numerous glowing reviews, we all know <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/08/ign-says-oblivion-looks-better-on-ps3/">graphical differences abound</a>. Unfortunately, no news about <em>Oblivion</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/27/will-oblivion-ever-come-out/">for the PSP</a>. Mr. Lafferty would only advise, "nothing new to report on that at this time." Well, no news is good news, right? (gulp) <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://digg.com/playstation_3/Geek_com_interviews_Oblivion_creators">digg</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/31/oblivion-producer-speaks-warmly-about-the-ps3-version/">Oblivion producer speaks warmly about his PS3 version</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 May 2007 12:45:00 EST. Indeed, that Big Daddy figurine has sweetness written all over it. Though, we have to be sure to remember that the paint job and scale of the figurine aren't finalized just yet, but The Cult of Rapture promises to show off the final version before the game ships. Go ahead, take a look at the picture gallery below and admire the Big Daddy figurine in all its glory. You'll be glad you did.<br /><br />
<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/29/first-look-at-the-bioshock-le-big-daddy-figurine/">First look at the Bioshock LE Big Daddy figurine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2007 15:15:00 EST. These little "girls" run around the underwater world of Rapture collecting something called Adam from the dead (note the large syringe in the image at right. The player can decide to save these "children" or to harvest them, as the Adam they carry is useful to the player. In the latest <em>BioShock</em> <a href="http://blogs.ign.com/Irrational_Games/2007/05/23/55572/">podcast</a>, Ken Levine, creative director of Irrational Games, discusses the moral conflict that the developers have created in the Little Sister character.<br /><br />The whole podcast is just shy of 20 minutes, and is exclusively about the Little Sister. Given the appearance and demeanor of the Little Sister character, the moral choice presented by her is likely to become a touchy subject, and the podcast attempts to clear the air about it. Levine discusses the challenges of creating such a character (originally designed as an insect) and forcing the player to make a moral choice about it. Among the juicier bits of info revealed in the podcast is the fact that players cannot physically harm the Little Sister. Little Sisters can be "harvested," but cannot be harmed by weapons or powers that the player possesses. It is made clear that harvesting will result in the death of a Little Sister, though Levine doesn't discuss specific details. The podcast is definitely worth a listen. If you've got the time to spare, we suggest you check it out.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/24/a-closer-look-at-bioshocks-little-sisters/">A closer look at BioShock's Little Sisters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 May 2007 16:00:00 EST. Impressed by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/18/bioshock-cover-art-contest-winners/">winning entry</a> in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/2kgames">2K Games'</a> <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock">BioShock</a> Limited Edition</span> cover art contest, we had a chat via online messenger with the winning artist Adam Meyer about his design and the process he took to get there, as well as a bit on his background.<br /><br /><strong>First of all, thanks again for doing those. Tell us a little bit about yourself.</strong><br /><br />Well, I'm 27 I think, I live in the Orlando area with my beautiful wife. And I own my own freelance design business called <a href="http://crystalclearart.com/">Crystal Clear Art</a>.<br /><br /><strong>How did you get involved with graphic design?<br /></strong><br />I've always been interested in art. And once I graduated high school it became clear that if I wanted to make a career out of art, it was best to get into graphic design over the more traditional stuff. I went to community college but dropped out in favor of just getting right into the field. I got my first design job doing layout work for a small little print company and basically learned what I could from it and the left. I kept repeating this pattern for about 8 years. I'd work someplace, learn everything I could, then quit and find someplace that could teach me new things.<br /><br />After I worked my way up to art director at a local design company I decided it was time to get out on my own. And here I am.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-making-of-the-le-cover-art/">BioShock: Making of the LE Cover Art</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-making-of-the-le-cover-art/#249206"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bioshock-cover-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-making-of-the-le-cover-art/#249207"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bioshock-cover-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-making-of-the-le-cover-art/#249208"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bioshock-cover-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-making-of-the-le-cover-art/#249209"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bioshock-cover-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br /><strong><br /></strong><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/22/joystiq-interviews-bioshock-le-cover-artist-adam-meyer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Joystiq interviews BioShock LE cover artist Adam Meyer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/22/joystiq-interviews-bioshock-le-cover-artist-adam-meyer/">Joystiq interviews BioShock LE cover artist Adam Meyer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 May 2007 08:00:00 EST. A hearty congratulations to Adam Meyer, winner of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/2KGames/">2K Games'</a> <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock">BioShock</a> </em>cover art contest. His entry, shown above, will be used for the cover of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/24/whos-your-big-daddy-bioshock-limited-edition-deets/">limited edition</a> release. In addition, Meyer will receive and "all-expense paid trip to the <em>BioShock</em> Launch Party in August" as well as a copy of <em>BioShock LE </em>for both Xbox 360 and PC.<br /><br />We're impressed by all the entries 2K has revealed (12 in all), possibly more so than the previous <em>BioShock </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/07/bioshock-contest-picks-coolest-t-shirt-in-rapture/">t-shirt contest</a>. You can get your own physical copy of Meyer's design <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/01/bioshock-slips-past-june-dated-august-21/">in August</a> for the Limited Edition standard of $70.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/">BioShock LE cover art contest</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/#247015"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/6_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/#247014"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bioshock1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/#247013"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/#247006"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/9_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-le-cover-art-contest/#247002"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/11_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/05/18/bioshock-le-cover-art-design-announced/">Xbox 360 Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/18/bioshock-cover-art-contest-winners/">BioShock cover art contest winners</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 May 2007 19:27:00 EST. And out of over 150 entries, Adam Meyer's design (as seen to the right) came out victorious and will be etched onto the <em>Bioshock</em> LE metal cover for all to see. Adam will also cash in on the sweet reward, getting not only free copies of <em>Bioshock, </em>but also receiving an all expense paid trip to <em>Bioshock</em>'s launch party. Congrats to you Adam, but about you choosing a friend to take with you on your trip. You know how to contact us, we're available anytime in August ... just give us a date.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamingbits.com/content/view/2134/2/">Gaming Bits</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/18/bioshock-le-cover-art-design-announced/">Bioshock LE cover art design announced</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 May 2007 14:15:00 EST. And what more can we say? <em>Bioshock</em> is fresh, unique, and one tempting Summer purchase. Hell, the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/01/bioshocks-water-is-b-e-a-utiful/">water effects</a> are worth the price of admission and we're not embarrassed to say that the electro-bolt plasmid makes us get all teary-eyed. Actually, our only reservation about the game is that there is no online co-op or multiplayer to speak of, but we're not sure if that really matters in the grand scheme of things. So, where does <em>Bioshock</em> fit on your video game purchase list?<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.digg.com/gaming_news/New_X_Play_Bioshock_Preview_Video">Digg</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/10/new-bioshock-footage-makes-us-happy/">New Bioshock footage makes us happy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 May 2007 09:00:00 EST.
