The <em>Adidas MiCoach</em> fitness game will be completed by UK developer Chromativity for Xbox 360 and PS3, and will launch this summer.<br /><br />Adidas <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/06/thq-facing-10-6-million-lawsuit-from-adidas/">sued publisher THQ for $10.6 million</a> back in March over the publisher's breach of contract to deliver <em>MiCoach 24/7</em> by January. The case was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/28/thq-and-adidas-settle-micoach-lawsuit/">settled</a> later in the month, when THQ announced it would not publish the game and that a "third party" would reimburse THQ for certain development costs and work with Adidas to bring the game to market. Turns out 505 Games was Adidas' mystery date.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/30/adidas-micoach-now-published-by-505-games-following-thq-kerfuffl/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Adidas MiCoach now published by 505 Games following THQ kerfuffle</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/30/adidas-micoach-now-published-by-505-games-following-thq-kerfuffl/">Adidas MiCoach now published by 505 Games following THQ kerfuffle</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Apr 2012 16:00:00 EST. The demo will be made available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though "the final date is not yet scheduled," the publisher told us.<br /><br />A PC version of <em>Sniper Elite V2</em> is also in the works, which will be self-published by Rebellion. Reps for the game tell Joystiq a demo for the PC is also planned for "sometime next month."<br /><br />There's no telling what the demo will include, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/targeting-the-axis-powers-in-sniper-elite-v2/">Joystiq's recent preview</a> should give you a good idea of what's in store. Sniper Elite V2 -- and its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/28/good-guy-sniper-kills-hitler-in-sniper-elite-v2-pre-order-bonus/">Kill Hitler</a> pre-order bonus -- launches on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on May 4.<br /><br />When asked if the bonus would be made available as premium DLC in the future, a rep told Joystiq the developer has yet to determine the content's fate following launch. Our guess is Rebellion will give everyone a shot at the world's most hated man at some point -- it's just a question of cost.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/">Sniper Elite V2: Single-Player (03/23/2012)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927379"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/russiansniped_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927380"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/scoped_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927382"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2031_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2034_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927384"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2035_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/30/sniper-elite-v2-demo-coming-next-month/">Sniper Elite V2 demo coming next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 Mar 2012 14:45:00 EST. As I enter, I spot a television well into a demo -- a bullet ejects from a Springfield rifle, time slows following it to an enemy, and cuts through a Nazi soldier like a chainsaw through a stick of butter.<br /><br />Reps from developer Rebellion and publisher 505 Games are huddled over the monitors, showing off <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sniper-Elite-V2/">Sniper Elite V2</a></em>, a reboot of Rebellion's 2005 <em>Sniper Elite</em> for PC, PS2, Wii, and Xbox. The demo, I'm told, had only just started. "We get right into the action," a PR spokesperson tells me. The Entertainment Software Association's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/03/esa-stands-behind-proposed-sopa-legislation-issues-statement/">support</a> of the "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/sopa">Stop Online Piracy Act</a>" has led us to ask every member of the video game industry's lobbying and political group to publicly declare its stance on the bill. The ESA's continued support means every member, by proxy, is a supporter of the bill.<br />
		<br />
		Some companies have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/nintendo-ea-and-sony-also-rescind-sopa-support/">pulled their logos</a> from supporting SOPA documentation to dodge ire, while others are hiding behind rhetoric, as you'll see below. Joystiq contacted every member of the ESA and requested a declarative statement on SOPA. After the break we've listed the responses we've received, along with others we found. We continue to seek clarity on this issue from every member of the ESA.<br />
		<br />
		This will become the page we update as we receive responses and clear declarative statements, so feel free to bookmark.<br />

	<small>That's right. <i>Grease 2.</i> That's how we roll.</small></center>
<br />
We love making game recommendations to our friends and family, but we've been struggling recently. Specifically, we've been utterly stumped whenever someone tells us they don't know which Kinect or PlayStation Move game to buy for the worst person they know.<br />
<br />
"I have to buy them a gift, Joystiq," they'll plead, "but they're literally just the most vile creature. They smell like cat food and their favorite movie is <em>Ghost of Girlfriends Past</em> and when I ask their favorite actor, they say 'Borat.' I just hate them."<br />
<br />
So, in a way, we owe a debt to 505 Games, which is releasing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/grease"><em>Grease</em></a>, a singing and dancing game for Kinect and PlayStation Move, on November 4. Finally, we know the perfect video game gift for <em>anybody</em> on your shopping list, even someone you hate with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grease coming to Kinect and Move</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/">Grease coming to Kinect and Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 16:00:00 EST. Don't be down in the dumps, everyone. There is reason to rejoice, as your appetite for high-octane rugby competition can now be sated through your favorite video game system! Xbox 360 users worldwide can <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Rugby-World-Cup-2011-Demo/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802464f87f3">download the demo</a> right now, and it'll be available on PS3 tomorrow in PAL territories.<br />
<br />
The demo features a playable match between England and South Africa. Remember, the actual, <em>very</em> physical Rugby World Cup 2011 is set to kick off on September 9 in New Zealand. It's the video game that's launching in Europe on August 26 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/rugby-world-cup-2011-demo-now-on-xbox-live-tomorrow-on-euro-psn/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rugby World Cup 2011 demo now on Xbox Live, tomorrow on Euro PSN</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/rugby-world-cup-2011-demo-now-on-xbox-live-tomorrow-on-euro-psn/">Rugby World Cup 2011 demo now on Xbox Live, tomorrow on Euro PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Aug 2011 21:30:00 EST. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/supremacy-mma">Supremacy MMA</a></em> is all but guaranteed to be the supreme MMA game on at least one platform at launch: the PlayStation Vita. In addition to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, out September 20, publisher 505 Games announced a PlayStation Vita version, due "holiday 2011," thus putting it somewhere within the hardware's launch window.<br />
<br />
The Vita version packs exclusive stuff not seen in the console versions, including fighters, venues and undefined "features" exclusive to the handheld version. Sometimes you just need a quick shot of brutal hand-to-hand combat while you're out of the house. At least 505 hopes so.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/supremacy-mma-pummeling-playstation-vita-holiday-2011/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Supremacy MMA pummeling PlayStation Vita holiday 2011</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/supremacy-mma-pummeling-playstation-vita-holiday-2011/">Supremacy MMA pummeling PlayStation Vita holiday 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 15:00:00 EST. It seems that 505 Games' <em>Zumba Fitness</em> motion game is destined to occupy every living room in the UK, as it was the UK's highest selling title last week -- even after 31 weeks of availability. Regaining a place in the top five, Rockstar's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/la-noire"><em>LA Noire</em></a> took second place, though it saw a 15 percent dip in sales.<br />
<br />
Here's where things get really depressing: Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/shadows-of-the-damned-review/">excellent</a> <em>Shadows of the Damned</em> debuted on the charts at number 31, beaten not only by the likes of recently released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/10/duke-nukem-forever-review-fail-to-the-king-baby/">stinkfest</a> <em>Duke Nukem Forever</em>, but even older titles like <em>Art Academy</em> and <em>EA Sports Active 2</em>. <em>FEAR 3</em> faced a starkly different reception, landing the number three spot just below LA Noire. We're not mad, UK readers and EA marketers -- just, ya know, <em>disappointed</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/zumba-fitness-stays-atop-uk-charts-for-fifth-week-la-noire-brin/">Zumba Fitness stays atop UK charts for fifth week, LA Noire brings up second place</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 08:45:00 EST. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blacklight-tango-down">Blacklight: Tango Down</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blacklight-retribution">Blacklight: Retribution</a></em> developer Zombie Studios continues its series of shooters with the word "black" in the title with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blackwater"><em>Blackwater</em></a>, a First Person eXperience (no, really ... that's what it says) shipping for Kinect this fall.<br />
<br />
Named after the controversial private security company, <em>Blackwater</em> gives players the option of ditching the controller in favor of a hands-free experience. The game was developed "in conjunction with former members of the Blackwater team" to make sure all the moves and gestures are authentic. If using a controller feels more authentic to you (hey, Joystiq reader!) then you'll be glad to learn that the game is "also playable with a standard controller." We'll track it down at E3 this week to get our hands (and not hands) on it.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/blackwater-is-zombies-latest-shooter-your-choice-of-kinect-or/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blackwater is Zombie's latest shooter, your choice of Kinect or controller</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/blackwater-is-zombies-latest-shooter-your-choice-of-kinect-or/">Blackwater is Zombie's latest shooter, your choice of Kinect or controller</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Jun 2011 18:45:00 EST. You love Tom Cruise. We get it, he's dreamy. You want to own everything even tangentially related to him, but there's a conundrum now that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/days-of-thunder-nascar-edition"><em>Days of Thunder</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/top-gun"><em>Top Gun</em></a> are now both movies <em>and</em> games. Frankly, that's confusing. What's a Cruise fan to do?<br />

The answer is simple, as 505 Games will soon be releasing <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Top-Gun-Hybrid-Movie-Playstation-3/dp/B00478OT0S/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1307046264&amp;sr=1-1"><em>Top Gun</em></a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Days-Thunder-Game-Movie-Playstation-3/dp/B00478OSWW/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1307046264&amp;sr=1-2"><em>Days of Thunder</em> hybrid Blu-ray discs</a>. Each disc will include a copy of the movie and its respective game. Plus, it adds a physical case to the download-only games, so you can finally display them in your shrine! According to Amazon, the wonder-discs will be released on June 7 at $30 each.<br />

NaturalMotion officially unveiled what it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/12/naturalmotion-teases-new-backbreaker-game/">teasing</a> earlier this week, and ... it's kind of confusing. <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance</em> uses the same subtitle as the company's recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/backbreaker-2-vengeance">iOS football game</a>, but it is not the same game.<br />
<br />
The new <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance</em> (who are these football players seeking vengeance against?) is an XBLA-exclusive, arcade-style game that "takes inspiration" from the first Backbreaker's "Tackle Alley" mode. That means one runner attempting to cross the field against various arrangements of pre-placed defenders.<br />
<br />
Check out a trailer after the break -- especially if you're fond of body-crunching sounds. Actually, that advice also works in regards to buying the game this summer.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/14/backbreaker-vengeance-tackles-xbla-this-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance tackles XBLA this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/14/backbreaker-vengeance-tackles-xbla-this-summer/">Backbreaker: Vengeance tackles XBLA this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Apr 2011 11:25:00 EST. UK-based developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rebellion">Rebellion</a> is on target to release a sequel to its 2005 sharpshooting sim <em>Sniper Elite</em>, teaming with 505 Games to publish the title. Like the original, <em>Sniper Elite V2</em> will put players in the combat boots of a skilled marksman during World War II, as seen in the concept art above. If you've seen <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0215750/"><em>Enemy at the Gates</em></a>, you have a good idea of what's in store ... only with (much) less Jude Law, we suspect.<br />
<br />
Waiting patiently is something snipers know a <em>lot</em> about, and it's something you'll have to do for this game -- it's pegged for release in 2012.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/06/rebellion-giving-sniper-elite-sequel-a-shot-next-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rebellion giving Sniper Elite sequel a shot next year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/06/rebellion-giving-sniper-elite-sequel-a-shot-next-year/">Rebellion giving Sniper Elite sequel a shot next year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Apr 2011 15:00:00 EST. No, it's not a game about Charlie Sheen's inevitable murder spree on all of those who questioned his ability to win -- though we imagine at least one game like that is already in the works. <em>Wrecked: Revenge Revisited</em> is the sequel to 2004's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashed">Mashed</a>, a car-combat game for the PC, Xbox and PS2 from UK-based developer Supersonic Software. The developer will strap itself into the driver seat once more for <em>Wrecked</em>, which is currently slated to launch in the spring.<br />
<br />
<em>Wrecked</em> will once again focus on vehicular carnage, giving players access to various customization options for their rides -- oh, and the titular revenge mechanic, which allows vanquished enemies to retaliate through aerial strike maneuvers. A single-player Championship mode will feature 24 different challenges across four racing disciplines; online and local multiplayer supports up to four players at a time.<br />

It's not easy to take down <em>UFC</em> as the reigning champ of MMA games. So, what is 505 Games and developer Kung Fu Factory adding to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mma-supremacy"><em>Supremacy</em></a> to make it unique? The female touch.<br />
<br />
Two female fighters have been confirmed in the <em>Supremacy</em> roster: Felice "Lil Dog" Herrig and Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez. Peter Matiss, VP of Marketing at 505 Games, hopes that this will convince gamers that <em>Supremacy</em> is "totally unique" -- but will it be enough to dissuade <em>UFC</em> loyalists?<br />

Much to the dismay of ingrained anti-evolution campaigners, 16-time Olympic medalist and super swimmer Michael Phelps is now a video game. 505 Games has announced <em>Michael Phelps - Push The Limit</em>, "a competitive sports journey" that sees you slipping into a speedo and diving into "one of the most realistic and intense sports simulations ever created." No, it really <em>sees</em> you -- you'll be doing this in front of a Kinect.<br />
<br />
The claims of realism are obviously suspect -- you need some ropes and pulleys for this to really work, and you probably keep those in the bedroom -- but <em>Push The Limit</em> seems like it'll be split into different swimming stages, with digi-Phelps helping you manage your adrenaline on the starting block, time your finish to perfection and shop for size 14 shoes (probably). With enough practice and frantic air swatting, you could emerge closer to "the hope of taking down Michael Phelps." (Protip: It's easiest if you play as the keen-nosed photographer.)<br />

"This definitely isn't your typical video game," says Phelps, perhaps unaware that evolution isn't all it's cracked up to be these days. Come this June, he's in danger of being beaten by a shirtless fat kid jiggling in front of a camera.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/">Michael Phelps: Push the Limit</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/#3840893"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/phelpsposterjt300dpi-bc_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/#3840894"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/fraser-stadium-dive-mp-ptl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/#3840895"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/apex-dive-2-mp-ptl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/#3840898"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/apex-dive-1-mp-ptl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/michael-phelps-push-the-limit/#3840900"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/02/lotus-turn-mp-ptl_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/02/michael-phelps-push-the-limit-kinect/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Michael Phelps pushes the limit for Kinect this June</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/02/michael-phelps-push-the-limit-kinect/">Michael Phelps pushes the limit for Kinect this June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Feb 2011 12:35:00 EST. Better set your alarm -- <a href="http://dof.reverieworld.com/index.php">505 Games has announced</a> a title called <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dawn-of-fantasy"><em>Dawn of Fantasy</em></a>, developed by Reverie World Studios, to be available on the PC this June. As you can see in the trailer after the break, <a href="http://dof.reverieworld.com/about.php">the game is an MMORTS</a>, combining single-player kingdom building and strategy warfare modes with a persistent online multiplayer experience. The title will have three different races available to players -- elves, men and orcs -- and, in addition to multiplayer skirmishes and a scenario editor, the game's economy will continue trading and growing even as you log off.<br />
<br />
Check the screenshots below for a better look at what could be a really interesting title.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/">Dawn of Fantasy (1/19/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/#3801983"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/12-1295478793_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/#3801984"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/1-1295478794_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/#3801985"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/2-1295478796_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/#3801986"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/dawn-of-fantasy/#3801987"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/20/dawn-of-fantasy-combines-mmo-with-rts-on-pc-this-june/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dawn of Fantasy combines MMO with RTS on PC this June</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/20/dawn-of-fantasy-combines-mmo-with-rts-on-pc-this-june/">Dawn of Fantasy combines MMO with RTS on PC this June</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Jan 2011 03:00:00 EST. And, uh, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fighters-uncaged">Fighters Uncaged</a></em>, we suppose. 505 Games hasn't talked much about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/14/505-games-enters-the-ring-with-mma-supremacy/">Supremacy MMA</a></em> since E3, but now it's showing of the new fighter for PS3 and Xbox 360 and has announced a scheduled summer release of the game. Find a trailer after the break, full of glorious slow-motion violence.<br />
<br />
According to 505, S<em>upremacy MMA</em> differentiates itself from its competition with the inclusion of lightweight champion Jens Pulver, who has the best fighter name ever. Pulver's image and backstory will feature in the game, and he is working as a "combat and story consultant," as well.<br />
<br />
The other big difference: <em>Supremacy MMA</em> is "taking things back old school," as Pulver puts it. Supremacy is all about underground, unsanctioned fights between amateurs -- getting away from all the showbiz and money in professional fighting, to focus on what it's really all about: Two men beating the crap out of each other in a cage, for no reason.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/">Supremacy MMA (PS3/Xbox 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/#3779207"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/supremacy11201_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/#3779208"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/supremacy11202_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/#3779209"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/supremacy11203_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/#3779210"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/supremacy11204_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/supremacy-mma-ps3-xbox-360/#3779211"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/supremacy11205_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/12/supremacy-mma-gets-old-school-this-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Supremacy MMA gets 'old school' this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/12/supremacy-mma-gets-old-school-this-summer/">Supremacy MMA gets 'old school' this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Jan 2011 14:30:00 EST. Redundant question: Want free stuff? Of course you do! That's why we'd like to inform you that the iPhone port of <strike>A2M</strike> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/08/artificial-mind-and-movement-rebrands-re-introducing-behaviour/">Behaviour Interactive</a>'s game about a cuddly curmudgeon, <em>Naughty Bear</em>, is free today. Head on over to <a href="http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/naughty-bear/id392990481?mt=8">the App Store</a> and give it a download -- you know, if you want. You know how it goes -- they always offer the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/naughty-bear-gets-free-level-8-dlc-today/">first fix</a> for free. And then, when you <em>need</em> more, you have to pay up. A2M and 505 Games have employed this classic strategy for the release of a new piece of <em>Naughty Bear </em>DLC, dubbed "Chapter 9." The add-on is out today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, but unlike the previous DLC release, it'll cost you: 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99, respectively.<br />
<br />
Chapter 9 introduces the Island of Perfection, replete with "exclusive hidden treasures, deadly weapons and brutal buccaneers," and two boss bears for the cuddly curmudgeon to conquer: Admiral Giggles and The Great Bear Beard. The DLC also includes four new challenges. For avast look (see what we did there?) check out the trailer past the break and the images below.<br />

This news is something <em>Naughty Bear</em>'s title star can finally be happy about. A2M and 505 Games is releasing DLC for the stuffed animal murder simulator today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. In the new "Episode 8," Naughty Bear receives an invite to a cake tasting party. But is it a trap? (Spoiler: It most certainly is!)<br />
<br />
In the episode, you'll have to fight against X-Bears, a "gang of superhero bears led by Danger Bear." You'll be able to unlock additional costumes, hats, weapons and challenges in an "originally themed environment" -- something the original game was sorely lacking. With a rather attractive cost of entry ($0), the DLC is certainly worth checking out, provided you can bear to play any more.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/naughty-bear-gets-free-level-8-dlc-today/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Naughty Bear gets free 'Episode 8' DLC today</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/10/naughty-bear-gets-free-level-8-dlc-today/">Naughty Bear gets free 'Episode 8' DLC today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Aug 2010 19:45:00 EST. 505 Games has announced a new update for its Euphoria-powered footballer, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/backbreaker"><em>Backbreaker</em></a>. Dubbed "Greathouse," this new update -- which should be available sometime in "early August" -- adds a host of features the community have apparently clamored for, such as an "improved Quarterback camera view and passing game" and 100 new plays, including nine new formations to use. Greathouse also tweaks gameplay on the other side of the ball, introducing a new "user catch system" and "full control" over interceptions.<br />
<br />
For the full patch notes, head past the break.<br />
<br />
<strong>Update: </strong>We mislabeled the launch window for the "Greathouse" update as "next month," when in fact we meant to say "early August." We apologize for the confusion. <p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/03/backbreaker-update-greathouse-getting-ready-to-huddle-up-next/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Backbreaker update 'Greathouse' getting ready to huddle up in 'early August'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/03/backbreaker-update-greathouse-getting-ready-to-huddle-up-next/">Backbreaker update 'Greathouse' getting ready to huddle up in 'early August'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Aug 2010 06:00:00 EST. Most of the action in <em>Deep Black</em> takes place underwater, with players navigating the depths with "specialized underwater jet packs with integrated harpoons, mini submersibles and other high tech equipment." But it's not all swimmin' and shootin' -- 505 promises a storyline with "complex science-fiction mystery, espionage, and bio-terror."<br />
<br />
<em>Deep Black</em> is expected to surface in Q1 2011, joining <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/naughty-bear">Naughty Bear</a></em> and <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/backbreaker">Backbreaker</a></em> as part of 505 Games's growing PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 lineup. Biart Studio is no stranger to games set underwater, having recently released the PSP mini, <em><a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/04/30/new-to-psn-store-reef-aquarium-for-psp/">Reef Aquarium</a>. </em>

Sure, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/naughty-bear"><em>Naughty Bear</em></a> is a little rough around the edges. The controls are too stiff, and the framerate is a bit sluggish. There isn't much content to play with, but as a $10 downloadable game, <em>Naughty Bear</em> makes for an interesting diversion.<br />
<br />
Wait ... this is a retail game? And you have to pay $50 for it? Unfortunately, in spite of a few good ideas, <em>Naughty Bear</em> is too sloppily executed, and too shallow to recommend -- especially as a "full" retail experience.<br />

If you're wondering what it would take to best Rockstar's dust-em-up, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/red-dead-redemption">Red Dead Redemption</a>,</em> in a battle for UK chart supremacy, it would seem it only takes a wizard -- a blocky, mute interpretation of the nation's own Harry Potter. It only makes sense that <em>Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4</em> would debut at the top spot. Isn't he like the UK's Prime Minister now?<br />

The boy with a scarred forehead has pushed nearly everyone down a spot <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/21/red-dead-redemption-and-mario-galaxy-2-in-uk-sales-chart-standof/">from last week</a>: <em>Red Dead Redemption</em> has fallen to second, while <em>Super Mario Galaxy 2</em> now takes up third. Also of note are strong UK debuts of several games, including <em>Naughty Bear, Demon's Souls </em>and <em>Transformers: War for Cybertron</em>. It's being developed by Kung Fu Factory, a relatively unknown team that credits itself with working on the <em>Mortal Kombat</em> franchise.<br />

Considering both THQ and EA Sports are fiercely competing in this space, <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=250556">CVG</a> questioned creative director Ricci Rukavina on what <em>Supremacy</em> could add to the franchise. "We're taking a more cinematic approach visually as opposed to a television broadcast simulation," Rukavina said. "Our approach to gameplay is concentrating on skills over statistics which should reinforce fast, fun and intuitive play."<br />

In many ways, these are many of the same buzzwords used by NaturalMotion when promoting their Euphoria-powered football game -- one which featured many novel ideas, but didn't exactly win <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/backbreaker">critics</a> over. It'll be interesting to see if <em>Supremacy</em> can outperform its gridiron predecessor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/14/505-games-enters-the-ring-with-mma-supremacy/">505 Games enters the ring with MMA Supremacy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 14 Jun 2010 12:30:00 EST. We've got another <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/naughty-bear">Naughty Bear</a> </em>video now, which highlights how our cotton-filled curmudgeon likes to handle would-be boaters. It's odd, because this is perhaps the tamest video we've seen for A2M's game yet. If you're going to kill a guy on a boat, wouldn't you get a bit more creative? You've got a rotor and rope to work with -- heck, you could even blow the whole thing up and watch your prey <em>burn to death</em>.<br />
<br />
You know what? We should probably stop posting so many <em>Naughty Bear </em>videos. You've used your Wii Balance Board to exercise, ski, hula hoop and snowboard. Soon, you'll have the opportunity to use the peripheral in the manner God intended: To do the <em>Hand Jive Hop</em>. According to a press release from publisher 505 Games, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grease"><em>Grease: The Game</em></a> will allow two teams of four players to fight for "musical domination" using two USB microphones and the Balance Board. Oh, man. We've got chills, and we'll be entirely damned if they're not<em> multiplying</em>.<br />
<br />
The board will be used for <em>Grease</em>'s many minigames, which include T-Bird racing, carnival games, and singing to the title's 16-song soundtrack. Not mentioned in the presser is the minigame where you take a nice, sweet-natured young girl and transform her into a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyUWkQj0Q_U">spandex-clad hussy</a>. We'll find out if that one made the cut when the game launches on Wii and DS in September.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/27/grease-the-game-to-utilize-microphones-and-balance-board/">Grease: The Game to utilize microphones and balance board</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 May 2010 10:45:00 EST. Having educated us in the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/11/backbreakers-running-game-looks-for-the-gap/">ways of offense</a>, 505 Games has released a new video to acquaint digital linesmen with <em>Backbreaker</em>'s defensive game. Much like the offense game, playing D in <em>Backbreaker</em> uses flicks of the right analog stick to perform various actions, whether they be flying tackles, bull rushes or sneaky evasive spins.<br />

A demo for the Euphoria-powered, tackle-infused <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/backbreaker"><em>Backbreaker</em></a> is now available on Xbox Live. The demo clocks in at 415MB and allows players to try out the training mode, an exhibition game and the "Tackle Alley" mode. Tackle Alley is an arcade-style game that has you running the ball up the field against a pre-placed set of defenders. Using <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/11/backbreakers-running-game-looks-for-the-gap/"><em>Backbreaker</em>'s offensive options</a>, it's your job to shake the defense and get the ball to the end zone.<br />
<br />
<em>Backbreaker</em> also has another innovative feature: being one of the only football games that <em>isn't Madden</em>. Unfortunately, the team editor isn't available in the demo, so you'll have to wait for the retail release in order to create your <em>totally fictional team that doesn't use any NFL names or trademarks</em>.<br />

The parodies keep coming for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/naughty-bear"><em>Naughty Bear</em></a>, as this latest trailer takes a bite out of Steven Spielberg's horror hit, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt_JTkUVL6I"><em>Jaws</em></a>. While we definitely enjoy the spirited homage, we <em>do</em> have one issue: it's straight-up cannibalism. We don't care if these bears are full of fluffy cotton -- seeing one bear consume another is <em>terrifying</em>. <br />
<br />
You can get in on our own personal nightmare by clicking the play button after the break. Just don't say we didn't warn you.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/15/naughty-bears-cannibalistic-jaws-inspired-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Naughty Bear's cannibalistic, Jaws-inspired trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/15/naughty-bears-cannibalistic-jaws-inspired-trailer/">Naughty Bear's cannibalistic, Jaws-inspired trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 15 May 2010 11:30:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/backbreaker"><em>Backbreaker</em></a> continues to promise <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/05/backbreaker-game-preview/">a little innovation in the football genre</a>, even as it tries to take on the mighty <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/madden"><em>Madden</em></a> juggernaut. In this new Training Camp video, you can check out the running game and how it works. In theory, it sounds great -- just use the right stick in an intuitive way to bump, stiff arm, and hurdle your opponents in the constant drive towards the end zone. In practice, though, it's tough to see how well the game will determine the gestures, like comparing a simple hurdle (pushing the right stick up quickly) versus an all-out leap (pushing the right stick up <em>for a while</em>).<br />
<br />
Still, even though <em>Backbreaker</em> is starting out deep in its own territory against the long-lived, well-funded and officially-licensed <em>Madden</em> series, if there's anywhere a plucky young underdog with a big, physics-based heart can win, it's in the sports genre. The game will set, hut, <em>hike</em> on June 1 for a discount price of $49.99.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/11/backbreakers-running-game-looks-for-the-gap/">Backbreaker's running game looks for the gap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 May 2010 03:30:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/26/get-a-physics-lesson-with-this-euphoria-tech-demo/">Euphoria</a>-powered football game, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/backbreaker">Backbreaker</a>, </em>shows off team customization tools in its latest trailer. Sure, you <em>could</em> use the robust editing suite to manufacture a pretty sweet team logo and end zone design ... but we know most people won't. <br />
<br />
When it launches on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/backbreaker-ad-packs-in-the-tackles-release-pushed-to-june-1/">June 1st</a>, could you at least promise us to keep your creations clean and devoid of objectionable genitalia for, like, the first day? How about you be a bit more mature and go with something like the Sioux City Slammers or, dare we suggest, the Jasper Joystiqs? No no, not the Joy Sticks. What is <em>wrong</em> with you people?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/05/backbreaker-video-shows-off-team-customization-options/">Backbreaker video shows off team customization options</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 May 2010 10:45:00 EST. Raw fish and honey are still mainstays of their diet, for example. As you can see in the trailer above, they also remain susceptible to the bear trap. Apparently, when it comes to objects that look like <em>gigantic metal shark mouths</em>, these bears just tune 'em out. <br />
<br />
Oh well, we're sure the bear corpses piling up will force an evolutionary adaptation eventually. Just not today, it seems.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/29/dont-fall-for-this-naughty-bear-trailers-trap/">Don't fall for this Naughty Bear trailer's trap</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 29 Apr 2010 20:30:00 EST. It seems like there's some additional touch that could really sell the idea of becoming a revenge-obsessed villain preying on the worst fears of those around you.<br />
<br />
Like, perhaps, a Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees outfit.<br />
<br />
Publisher 505 Games announced that you'll get precisely that (well, almost precisely: it's a "Kruebear" costume or a "Slasher Bear" outfit) when you pre-order<em> Naughty Bear </em>from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&amp;field-keywords=%22naughty+bear%22&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">Amazon</a> or <a href="http://www.gamestop.com/browse/search.aspx?N=0&amp;Ntk=TitleKeyword&amp;Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&amp;Ntt=naughty%20bear">GameStop</a>, respectively. The Kruebear offer isn't reflected on the Amazon page yet -- but expect to be offered the chance to tear stuffing out of bears' bodies with some knife-gloves soon. See the "Slasher Bear" costume after the break.<br />

You saw that there was a new <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/backbreaker"><em>Backbreaker</em></a> video and you came to watch some dudes get tackled. That's fine, and we understand. So, really, you don't have to read this just to make us feel like we're earning our keep. Besides, we've already seen the video, and you should totally watch it. Like, seriously, <em>so many dudes get tackled</em>.<br />
<br />
Actually, there is one thing you should read: The <em>Backbreaker</em> release date has been pushed back a week to June 1. Okay, <em>now</em> you can watch.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/backbreaker-ad-packs-in-the-tackles-release-pushed-to-june-1/">Backbreaker ad packs in the tackles, release pushed to June 1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Apr 2010 23:30:00 EST. The standout of the three trailers is probably the <em>Blair Witch </em>parody we've embedded above. While the homage to the movie is appreciated, it's a little low on bear-on-bear violence for our taste. The other two trailers, thankfully, fall a bit closer to the mark. The second is actually a snippet from the third level of the game, which tasks Naughty Bear with destroying cameras mounted on birds (no, really). Finally, the third trailer gives us the violence we crave, as the demented fiend pushes a poor, defenseless comrade into a giant cake mixer.<br />
<br />
If that's not good, clean fun, we don't know what is.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/16/a-trio-of-twisted-naughty-bear-trailers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A trio of twisted Naughty Bear trailers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/16/a-trio-of-twisted-naughty-bear-trailers/">A trio of twisted Naughty Bear trailers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Apr 2010 01:30:00 EST.
