An enhanced Wii U version of Rebellion's sniping sim, <i><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Sniper-Elite-V2/">Sniper Elite V2</a>, </i>is headed to retailers tomorrow, offering up a collection of platform-exclusive tactical options.<br />
<br />
Announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/sniper-elite-v2-takes-aim-at-the-wii-u-for-a-spring-release/">back in February</a>, the Wii U edition of <i>Sniper Elite V2</i> uses the console's GamePad by giving players an in-game map and quicker access to weapons and equipment. Players can additionally use the GamePad to tag and track enemies, mark traps, and predict the blast radius of planted explosives.<br />
<br />
The Wii U port also features off-TV GamePad mirroring, in case the rest of your family doesn't want to watch you shatter skulls.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-wii-u/">Sniper Elite v2 (Wii U)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-wii-u/#5894334"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/sev2wiiu02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-wii-u/#5894335"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/sev2wiiu03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/sniper-elite-v2-scopes-out-wii-u-tomorrow/">Sniper Elite V2 scopes out Wii U tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 20 May 2013 21:00:00 EST. <br />
Snoop Dogg's rhythm/fighting game <em>Way of the Dogg </em>is <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Way-of-the-Dogg/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258411291">now available</a> on XBLA for 800 MS Points, which is far less than the cost of changing your name and becoming a reggae artist - believe us, we looked into it. The <em>Elite Beat Agents</em>-esque game is also "coming soon" to PlayStation Network, iOS and Android, according to publisher 505 Games.<br />
<br />
In other Snoop Dogg related news, we recently found a horrible bootleg hip-hop mixtape that we bought nine years ago at a thrift store for like $0.48. Early reports indicate that it is still <em>completely awesome</em>.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/">Way of the Dogg (5/3/13)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857148"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857149"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857150"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857151"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/way-of-the-dogg-5-3-13/#5857152"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/05/maygameplayannouncementxbla5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/way-of-the-dogg-out-now-on-xbla-psn-and-mobile-soon/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Way of the Dogg out now on XBLA, PSN and mobile 'soon'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/way-of-the-dogg-out-now-on-xbla-psn-and-mobile-soon/">Way of the Dogg out now on XBLA, PSN and mobile 'soon'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 14:00:00 EST. The company picked up nearly all the assets in the auction, including Titan Quest, Supreme Commander, Frontlines, Stuntman, Juiced, Full Spectrum Warrior, Destroy All Humans and much more.<br /> <br /> "First and foremost we are very happy about this deal which also turns over a new leaf for the entire Nordic Games Group. In the long term, we either want to cooperate with the original creators or best possible developers in order to work on sequels or additional content for these titles," said Nordic Games CEO Lars Wingefors. "A very important point for us is not to dash into several self-financed multi-million dollar projects right away, but rather to continue our in-depth analysis of all titles and carefully selecting different financing models for developing new instalments of acquired IPs."<br /> <br /> The other reveal is 505 Games grabbed the rights to Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter for $300K.<br /> <br /> The news follows this afternoon's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/22/homeworld-gearbox-ip-purchase/">unexpected acquisition of the Homeworld franchise by Gearbox Software</a>. We now know the price tag for Gearbox to re-release the original games on digital distribution networks and take a swing at its own spin on the real-time strategy franchise was $1.35 million.<br /> <br /> We've listed the winning bids in greater detail after the break.</div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/22/thq-auction-darksiders-red-faction-homeworld/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>THQ auction results: Nordic Games takes Darksiders, Red Faction; 505 Games is Drawn to Life</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/22/thq-auction-darksiders-red-faction-homeworld/">THQ auction results: Nordic Games takes Darksiders, Red Faction; 505 Games is Drawn to Life</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Apr 2013 18:04:00 EST. That's according to a financial press release released in January by the parent company of 505 Games, the Milan-based Digital Bros. We asked 505 Games why everyone missed the fanfare for its new shooter.<br /><br />"We were hoping the news would remain quiet within the Italian financial community until we could formally announce the game which we plan to do soon," a company representative told Joystiq. <em>Sniper Elite 3</em> is "expected in 2014" from independent developer Rebellion, which owns the Sniper Elite franchise.<br /><br />According to the original financial release [<a href="http://www.digital-bros.net/en/pressroom/comunicati/01102013-PRDigitalBros-505GamesAnnouncesSniperElite3.pdf">PDF</a>], <em>Sniper Elite 3</em> "will have an impact on the Group's revenues for FY 2013-2013 of 28.6 million Euros (approximately $37M USD)." The release states that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Sniper-Elite-V2/">Sniper Elite V2</a></em> - which launched in 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 - "gained worldwide success around 1.1 million copies and 28.6 million revenues sold since the April 2012 launch to the end of December."<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> 505 Games has confirmed to Joystiq that <em>Sniper Elite 3</em> is also in development for PC.<br /><br /><div> <small><em>[Sniper Elite V2 pictured]</em></small></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/13/sniper-elite-3-expected-in-2014-on-ps3-xbox-and-next-gen-plat/">Sniper Elite 3 'expected in 2014' on PS3, Xbox and next-gen platforms</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Mar 2013 21:30:00 EST. According to a new fact sheet released today, Overkill's latest is due out this summer as a downloadable game on Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, and the PC via Steam.<br /><br />The first game only offered a few different "heists" to play, but the sequel features CRIMENET, a "contract database" offering dozens of different jobs to take, which can take place across multiple stages and change according to certain equipment purchases (like a faster escape car or an inside man). Additionally, each level has a new amount of dynamic content, including random layouts or rare events, and finishing each job rewards loot like new masks, weapons, or other accessories.<br /><br />Players also get to choose a profession of Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost or Technician, each with its own skills and equipment to use, and can work their way up from the lowest thug on the totem pole to high-end heisters as they play. That summer release is coming up quick, so we should see more of the game very soon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/payday-2-will-feature-a-contract-database-coming-this-summer/">Payday 2 will feature a 'contract database,' coming this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Mar 2013 12:45:00 EST. Technically, that's true, as 505's new game <em>Way of the Dogg</em> stars Snoop <em>Lion</em>. Even though it's "Way of the Dogg." We <em>know</em>.<br /><br />The game is a rhythm-action brawler in which you match beats to Snoop Dogg's music in order to beat up enemies, with each level designed around a different Snoop track. Developed by Engine Software and published 505 Games, the console version of <em>Terraria</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/02/terraria-trailer-teases-new-console-content/">features fresh content</a>, including a new big bad dubbed Ocram as well as additional enemies, weapons, pets and inventory items, and is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/25/terraria-comes-to-consoles-in-february-dusts-off-this-new-conte/">scheduled to arrive</a> at "the end of February or early March," according to 505 Games community manager Logan Rosenstein.<br /><br />The console version's biggest addition, however, is the ability to play <em>Terraria</em> with a controller. It's initially hard to picture playing <em>Terraria </em>without the combination of a mouse and keyboard. The basic movement controls are simple enough, but inventory management, mining, and construction are all governed by a pointer-based interface that is best left for a mouse to handle. The gamepad controls developed for the port aim to offer the best of both worlds.<br /><br />"The biggest challenge [the dev team faced] was the controls," Rosenstein said of the porting process. "The PC version is so heavily reliant on the keyboard and mouse, so the dev team spent a lot of time and a lot of effort working on the controls. They did several different layouts and several different practice runs."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/">Terraria (02/06/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622431"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622432"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622433"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622434"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622435"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/molding-and-shaping-terrarias-world-with-twin-sticks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Molding and shaping Terraria's world with twin sticks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/molding-and-shaping-terrarias-world-with-twin-sticks/">Molding and shaping Terraria's world with twin sticks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Feb 2013 20:30:00 EST. That's the official global release date for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/naughty-bear-panic-in-paradise"><em>Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise</em></a>, publisher 505 Games revealed today.<br /><br />The threat of Naughty Bear won't subside after launch, as 505 has already announced plans to support the downloadable game with 12 DLC updates containing new weapons, costumes, and "ultra kills." Imagine explaining to someone who doesn't play video games that our hobby gives you the option of playing as a mass-murdering teddy bear dressed as Batman, but only if you pay extra.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/28/naughty-bear-brings-panic-to-paradise-october-10/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Naughty Bear brings Panic to Paradise October 10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/28/naughty-bear-brings-panic-to-paradise-october-10/">Naughty Bear brings Panic to Paradise October 10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Sep 2012 09:35:00 EST. It's not surprising it couldn't specifically show off every game headed to the Wii U during its launch window, November 18 - March 31. Two of these games, <em>Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper</em> and <em>Funky Barn</em>, are notable after the fact because of their assets - one for having a full trailer and gallery, and the other for featuring chubby piggies.<br /><br />Tecmo Koei's <em>Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper</em> will incorporate the WiiPad in local two-player co-op, hacking and slashing across two screens, the above video shows. It includes characters from other Tecmo Koei franchises, and includes a duel mode, which is new for the Wii U.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/">Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper (Wii U)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/#5284130"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/wo3h01eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/#5284131"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/wo3hbattle00eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/#5284132"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/wo3hbattle01eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/#5284133"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/wo3hbattle02eng_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/warriors-orochi-3-hyper-wii-u/#5284134"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/09/wo3hbattle03-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/13/two-wii-u-games-you-didnt-hear-about-today-warriors-orochi-3-h/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Two Wii U games you didn't hear about today: Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, Funky Barn</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/13/two-wii-u-games-you-didnt-hear-about-today-warriors-orochi-3-h/">Two Wii U games you didn't hear about today: Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, Funky Barn</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Sep 2012 19:30:00 EST. The titular bear is once again angry at his peers - this time for not inviting him on vacation to Paradise Island - so he decides to kill them all again.<br /><br />Look, Bear, we don't want to tell you how to live your life, but maybe if you didn't kill everyone so much, you'd get invited on more vacations? The <em>Adidas MiCoach</em> fitness game will be completed by UK developer Chromativity for Xbox 360 and PS3, and will launch this summer.<br /><br />Adidas <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/06/thq-facing-10-6-million-lawsuit-from-adidas/">sued publisher THQ for $10.6 million</a> back in March over the publisher's breach of contract to deliver <em>MiCoach 24/7</em> by January. The case was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/28/thq-and-adidas-settle-micoach-lawsuit/">settled</a> later in the month, when THQ announced it would not publish the game and that a "third party" would reimburse THQ for certain development costs and work with Adidas to bring the game to market. The demo will be made available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, though "the final date is not yet scheduled," the publisher told us.<br /><br />A PC version of <em>Sniper Elite V2</em> is also in the works, which will be self-published by Rebellion. Reps for the game tell Joystiq a demo for the PC is also planned for "sometime next month."<br /><br />There's no telling what the demo will include, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/29/targeting-the-axis-powers-in-sniper-elite-v2/">Joystiq's recent preview</a> should give you a good idea of what's in store. Our guess is Rebellion will give everyone a shot at the world's most hated man at some point -- it's just a question of cost.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/">Sniper Elite V2: Single-Player (03/23/2012)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927379"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/russiansniped_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927380"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/scoped_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927382"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2031_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2034_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sniper-elite-v2-single-player-03-23-2012/#4927384"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/03/sev2035_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/30/sniper-elite-v2-demo-coming-next-month/">Sniper Elite V2 demo coming next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 Mar 2012 14:45:00 EST. The Entertainment Software Association's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/03/esa-stands-behind-proposed-sopa-legislation-issues-statement/">support</a> of the "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/sopa">Stop Online Piracy Act</a>" has led us to ask every member of the video game industry's lobbying and political group to publicly declare its stance on the bill. The ESA's continued support means every member, by proxy, is a supporter of the bill.<br />
		<br />
		Some companies have <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/30/nintendo-ea-and-sony-also-rescind-sopa-support/">pulled their logos</a> from supporting SOPA documentation to dodge ire, while others are hiding behind rhetoric, as you'll see below. Joystiq contacted every member of the ESA and requested a declarative statement on SOPA. After the break we've listed the responses we've received, along with others we found. We continue to seek clarity on this issue from every member of the ESA.<br />
		<br />
		This will become the page we update as we receive responses and clear declarative statements, so feel free to bookmark.<br />

	<small>That's right. <i>Grease 2.</i> That's how we roll.</small></center>
<br />
We love making game recommendations to our friends and family, but we've been struggling recently. Specifically, we've been utterly stumped whenever someone tells us they don't know which Kinect or PlayStation Move game to buy for the worst person they know.<br />
<br />
"I have to buy them a gift, Joystiq," they'll plead, "but they're literally just the most vile creature. They smell like cat food and their favorite movie is <em>Ghost of Girlfriends Past</em> and when I ask their favorite actor, they say 'Borat.' I just hate them."<br />
<br />
So, in a way, we owe a debt to 505 Games, which is releasing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/grease"><em>Grease</em></a>, a singing and dancing game for Kinect and PlayStation Move, on November 4. Finally, we know the perfect video game gift for <em>anybody</em> on your shopping list, even someone you hate with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Grease coming to Kinect and Move</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/grease-coming-to-kinect-and-move/">Grease coming to Kinect and Move</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 16:00:00 EST. Don't be down in the dumps, everyone. There is reason to rejoice, as your appetite for high-octane rugby competition can now be sated through your favorite video game system! Xbox 360 users worldwide can <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Rugby-World-Cup-2011-Demo/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802464f87f3">download the demo</a> right now, and it'll be available on PS3 tomorrow in PAL territories.<br />
<br />
The demo features a playable match between England and South Africa. Remember, the actual, <em>very</em> physical Rugby World Cup 2011 is set to kick off on September 9 in New Zealand. It's the video game that's launching in Europe on August 26 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/rugby-world-cup-2011-demo-now-on-xbox-live-tomorrow-on-euro-psn/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rugby World Cup 2011 demo now on Xbox Live, tomorrow on Euro PSN</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/02/rugby-world-cup-2011-demo-now-on-xbox-live-tomorrow-on-euro-psn/">Rugby World Cup 2011 demo now on Xbox Live, tomorrow on Euro PSN</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 02 Aug 2011 21:30:00 EST. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/supremacy-mma">Supremacy MMA</a></em> is all but guaranteed to be the supreme MMA game on at least one platform at launch: the PlayStation Vita. In addition to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, out September 20, publisher 505 Games announced a PlayStation Vita version, due "holiday 2011," thus putting it somewhere within the hardware's launch window.<br />
<br />
The Vita version packs exclusive stuff not seen in the console versions, including fighters, venues and undefined "features" exclusive to the handheld version. Sometimes you just need a quick shot of brutal hand-to-hand combat while you're out of the house. At least 505 hopes so.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/supremacy-mma-pummeling-playstation-vita-holiday-2011/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Supremacy MMA pummeling PlayStation Vita holiday 2011</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/28/supremacy-mma-pummeling-playstation-vita-holiday-2011/">Supremacy MMA pummeling PlayStation Vita holiday 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 28 Jul 2011 15:00:00 EST. It seems that 505 Games' <em>Zumba Fitness</em> motion game is destined to occupy every living room in the UK, as it was the UK's highest selling title last week -- even after 31 weeks of availability. Regaining a place in the top five, Rockstar's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/la-noire"><em>LA Noire</em></a> took second place, though it saw a 15 percent dip in sales.<br />
<br />
Here's where things get really depressing: Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/shadows-of-the-damned-review/">excellent</a> <em>Shadows of the Damned</em> debuted on the charts at number 31, beaten not only by the likes of recently released <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/10/duke-nukem-forever-review-fail-to-the-king-baby/">stinkfest</a> <em>Duke Nukem Forever</em>, but even older titles like <em>Art Academy</em> and <em>EA Sports Active 2</em>. <em>FEAR 3</em> faced a starkly different reception, landing the number three spot just below LA Noire. We're not mad, UK readers and EA marketers -- just, ya know, <em>disappointed</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/zumba-fitness-stays-atop-uk-charts-for-fifth-week-la-noire-brin/">Zumba Fitness stays atop UK charts for fifth week, LA Noire brings up second place</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Jun 2011 08:45:00 EST. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blacklight-tango-down">Blacklight: Tango Down</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blacklight-retribution">Blacklight: Retribution</a></em> developer Zombie Studios continues its series of shooters with the word "black" in the title with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/blackwater"><em>Blackwater</em></a>, a First Person eXperience (no, really ... that's what it says) shipping for Kinect this fall.<br />
<br />
Named after the controversial private security company, <em>Blackwater</em> gives players the option of ditching the controller in favor of a hands-free experience. The game was developed "in conjunction with former members of the Blackwater team" to make sure all the moves and gestures are authentic. If using a controller feels more authentic to you (hey, Joystiq reader!) then you'll be glad to learn that the game is "also playable with a standard controller." We'll track it down at E3 this week to get our hands (and not hands) on it.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/blackwater-is-zombies-latest-shooter-your-choice-of-kinect-or/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Blackwater is Zombie's latest shooter, your choice of Kinect or controller</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/06/blackwater-is-zombies-latest-shooter-your-choice-of-kinect-or/">Blackwater is Zombie's latest shooter, your choice of Kinect or controller</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Jun 2011 18:45:00 EST. You love Tom Cruise. We get it, he's dreamy. You want to own everything even tangentially related to him, but there's a conundrum now that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/days-of-thunder-nascar-edition"><em>Days of Thunder</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/top-gun"><em>Top Gun</em></a> are now both movies <em>and</em> games. Frankly, that's confusing. What's a Cruise fan to do?<br />
<br />
The answer is simple, as 505 Games will soon be releasing <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Top-Gun-Hybrid-Movie-Playstation-3/dp/B00478OT0S/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1307046264&amp;sr=1-1"><em>Top Gun</em></a> and <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Days-Thunder-Game-Movie-Playstation-3/dp/B00478OSWW/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1307046264&amp;sr=1-2"><em>Days of Thunder</em> hybrid Blu-ray discs</a>. Each disc will include a copy of the movie and its respective game. Plus, it adds a physical case to the download-only games, so you can finally display them in your shrine! According to Amazon, the wonder-discs will be released on June 7 at $30 each.<br />
<br />

NaturalMotion officially unveiled what it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/12/naturalmotion-teases-new-backbreaker-game/">teasing</a> earlier this week, and ... it's kind of confusing. <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance</em> uses the same subtitle as the company's recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/backbreaker-2-vengeance">iOS football game</a>, but it is not the same game.<br />
<br />
The new <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance</em> (who are these football players seeking vengeance against?) is an XBLA-exclusive, arcade-style game that "takes inspiration" from the first Backbreaker's "Tackle Alley" mode. That means one runner attempting to cross the field against various arrangements of pre-placed defenders.<br />
<br />
Check out a trailer after the break -- especially if you're fond of body-crunching sounds. Actually, that advice also works in regards to buying the game this summer.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/14/backbreaker-vengeance-tackles-xbla-this-summer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Backbreaker: Vengeance tackles XBLA this summer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/14/backbreaker-vengeance-tackles-xbla-this-summer/">Backbreaker: Vengeance tackles XBLA this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 14 Apr 2011 11:25:00 EST. UK-based developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rebellion">Rebellion</a> is on target to release a sequel to its 2005 sharpshooting sim <em>Sniper Elite</em>, teaming with 505 Games to publish the title. Like the original, <em>Sniper Elite V2</em> will put players in the combat boots of a skilled marksman during World War II, as seen in the concept art above. If you've seen <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0215750/"><em>Enemy at the Gates</em></a>, you have a good idea of what's in store ... only with (much) less Jude Law, we suspect.<br />
<br />
Waiting patiently is something snipers know a <em>lot</em> about, and it's something you'll have to do for this game -- it's pegged for release in 2012.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/06/rebellion-giving-sniper-elite-sequel-a-shot-next-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rebellion giving Sniper Elite sequel a shot next year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/06/rebellion-giving-sniper-elite-sequel-a-shot-next-year/">Rebellion giving Sniper Elite sequel a shot next year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Apr 2011 15:00:00 EST. No, it's not a game about Charlie Sheen's inevitable murder spree on all of those who questioned his ability to win -- though we imagine at least one game like that is already in the works. <em>Wrecked: Revenge Revisited</em> is the sequel to 2004's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashed">Mashed</a>, a car-combat game for the PC, Xbox and PS2 from UK-based developer Supersonic Software. The developer will strap itself into the driver seat once more for <em>Wrecked</em>, which is currently slated to launch in the spring.<br />
<br />
<em>Wrecked</em> will once again focus on vehicular carnage, giving players access to various customization options for their rides -- oh, and the titular revenge mechanic, which allows vanquished enemies to retaliate through aerial strike maneuvers. A single-player Championship mode will feature 24 different challenges across four racing disciplines; online and local multiplayer supports up to four players at a time.<br />

It's not easy to take down <em>UFC</em> as the reigning champ of MMA games. So, what is 505 Games and developer Kung Fu Factory adding to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/mma-supremacy"><em>Supremacy</em></a> to make it unique? The female touch.<br />
<br />
Two female fighters have been confirmed in the <em>Supremacy</em> roster: Felice "Lil Dog" Herrig and Michele "Diablita" Gutierrez. Peter Matiss, VP of Marketing at 505 Games, hopes that this will convince gamers that <em>Supremacy</em> is "totally unique" -- but will it be enough to dissuade <em>UFC</em> loyalists?<br />
