Your stubborn reluctance to purchase any of Capcom's digital releases is about to pay off. The publisher is collecting eight of its XBLA games for a $40 disc dubbed "Capcom Digital Collection," out next spring. It's exclusive to Xbox 360.<br />
<br />
The set includes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/1942-joint-strike"><em>1942: Joint Strike</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2"><em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</em></a> (not 1 ...), the two-game <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/final-fight-double-impact">Final Fight: Double Impact</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/flock">Flock!</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rocketmen-axis-of-evil">Rocketmen: Axis of Evil </a></em>with "It Came from Uranus" DLC, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-puzzle-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix"><em>Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/super-street-fighter-ii-turbo-hd-remix"><em>Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix</em></a>, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/wolf-of-the-battlefield-commando-3"><em>Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3</em></a>.<br />
<br />
That's an overwhelming windfall of games to receive at once -- and it would be $100 if you bought it all digitally. If you want more than a couple of these games (and especially if you're light on hard drive space), it's a pretty appealing deal.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/">Capcom Digital Collection (Xbox 360)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/#4679776"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/capcomdigital001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/#4679777"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/capcomdigital002bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/#4679778"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/capcomdigital004bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/#4679779"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/capcomdigital005bmpjpgcopy_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/capcom-digital-collection-xbox-360/#4679780"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/12/capcomdigital10.226.4.116-image2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/14/capcom-collects-ssf2-turbo-hd-remix-seven-other-xbla-games-on-d/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Capcom collects SSF2 Turbo HD Remix, seven other XBLA games on disc</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/14/capcom-collects-ssf2-turbo-hd-remix-seven-other-xbla-games-on-d/">Capcom collects SSF2 Turbo HD Remix, seven other XBLA games on disc</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Dec 2011 13:45:00 EST. GamerBytes <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33621/InDepth_Xbox_Live_Arcade_Sales_Analysis_February_2011.php">did a little number-crunching</a> on the Xbox Live Arcade leaderboards for last month, and while we don't have exact numbers on Xbox Live titles (other than Major Nelson's <a href="http://majornelson.com/2011/02/16/live-activity-for-week-of-february-7/">usual list of most-played and purchased games</a>), these are usually a rough indication of what business was like on Microsoft's network last month.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2"><em>Bionic Commando: Re-armed 2</em></a> was the biggest disappointment, picking up fewer than 10,000 players on the leaderboards, compared to over 130K first-week sales for the first title. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/hard-corps-uprising">Hard Corps: Uprising</a>, </em>the first game to come out under Microsoft's "House Party" banner, brought in a few more players, at around 27K, and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bejeweled-blitz-live"><em>Bejeweled Blitz Live</em></a> did pretty well (for a game that's on nearly every platform known to man in its basic form) with over 14K new players in the single week of February it was out.<br />
<br />
Sales were big drivers -- <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/hydrophobia"><em>Hydrophobia</em></a> picked up over 10,000 new players <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/20/hydrophobia-dance-central-deals-in-upcoming-xbox-live-marketpla/">thanks to a sale</a>, and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/geometry-wars-2"><em>Geometry Wars 2</em></a> saw a huge bump as well. Outside of the new titles, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/pinball-fx-2"><em>Pinball FX 2</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/trials-hd"><em>Trials HD </em></a>continue to grow their leaderboards.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/23/xbox-live-leaderboard-data-shows-how-house-party-promotion-fared/">Xbox Live leaderboard data shows how House Party promotion fared</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Mar 2011 14:00:00 EST. When Capcom <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/23/capcom-apologizes-for-unannounced-final-fight-double-impact-drm/">apologized</a> for including <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/final-fight-double-impact-psn-requirement-is-anti-sharing-drm/">anti-sharing DRM</a> in its PSN release of <em>Final Fight: Double Impact</em>, it wasn't because it had a change of heart on the technology - which required players to be signed into PlayStation Network to play the game - but rather because it failed to alert users to its presence. <br />
<br />
With yesterday's release of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</a></em> on PSN, the Big C made sure to remedy that shortcoming with the follow notice on the game's listing: "NOTE: You must log-in to the PlayStation Network each time to play the game." While <em>Final Fight: Double Impact</em> could at least boast an online cooperative element (in both its <em>Final Fight</em> and <em>Magic Sword</em> offerings!), <em>Rearmed 2's</em> co-op is an adamantly offline-only affair, like its predecessor. If you've got a religious objection to digital rights management (or a shaky internet connection!) consider yourself warned. <br />
<br />

This week's PSN update adds <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/16/the-undergarden-review/#review"><em>The UnderGarden</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/01/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-review/"><em>Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2</em>,</a> two titles that didn't review all too well on our little corner of the internet. Although, not all is lost, if you somehow missed out on playing one of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2009-assassins-creed-2/">best games of 2009</a>, <em>Assassin's Creed 2</em> is available for $30. The "Deluxe Edition" includes the core game along with all the DLC.<br />
<br />
Check out the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/31/fight-night-champion-knocks-out-new-trailer-demo-available-tomo/"><em>Fight Night Champion</em> demo</a> if you're looking to play something punchy. The full PSN update can be found after the break... and please try to ignore the crickets hanging out in the PSP section.<br />

It might be tempting to believe that the unprecedented addition of a jump button is the defining feature of <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</em>. Having completed the game, I can assure you that jumping neither makes nor breaks <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2"><em>Rearmed 2</em></a> at all. In fact, given all the hoopla surrounding Nathan "Rad" Spencer's newfound ability to spring himself up through muscular effort, it's ironic that <em>Rearmed 2</em> consistently falls short of its predecessor.<br />

As one of its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ces-2011">CES</a> announcements, Capcom has revealed that <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</a></em>, the downloadable sequel that <em>also</em> adds a jaunty moustache, will be released for PSN on Tuesday, February 1 for $15, with the XBLA version following a day later for the same price (1200 Microsoft Points).<br />
<br />
Check out our gallery for new gameplay shots, plus a look at some new Challenge Rooms and the moustachetic box art. Nathan "Rad" Spencer looks pretty thrilled about his game, at least!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (1/6/11)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/#3750823"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/bcr161101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/#3750824"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/bcr161102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/#3750825"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/bcr161103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/#3750826"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/bcr161104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-1-6-11/#3750827"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/01/bcr161105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/06/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-will-make-you-jump-jump-feb-1/">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 will make you jump, jump Feb. 1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Jan 2011 14:30:00 EST. Well, it's convenient until the jets turn on, anyway. Check out video footage after the break.<br />

Capcom also officially announced the "retro" difficulty for Fatshark's side-scrolling sequel (first revealed earlier this week by <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2010/10/07/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-jumping/">MTV</a>), which removes the new, and controversial, jumping ability. That should satisfy <em>Bionic Commando</em> purists: not only can you play through the game without jumping -- you can play through it without even the temptation to do so.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (11/11/10)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/#3562436"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/bcr2111101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/#3562438"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/bcr2111102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/#3562439"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/bcr2111103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/#3562440"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/bcr2111104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-11-11-10/#3562441"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/11/bcr2111105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/11/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-introduces-retro-mode-and-megacopter/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 introduces 'Retro' mode and Megacopter</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/11/bionic-commando-rearmed-2-introduces-retro-mode-and-megacopter/">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 introduces 'Retro' mode and Megacopter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Nov 2010 15:40:00 EST. With <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/tgs-2010">TGS</a> humming along, Capcom has released some brand new media for Fatshark's <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2"><em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</em></a>. We've got two new gameplay videos along with a handful of screenshots, all featuring the newly mustachioed Nathan Spencer at his swinging best. So far, I'm not really sure I like <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</em>. Some context: I'm a <em>huge</em> fan of both the original <em>Bionic Commando</em> and its 2008 remake, <em>Bionic Commando Rearmed</em>. They're two of the cleverest, most challenging games around, a real treat for someone that's been playing games for nigh on twenty years.<br />
<br />
So why am I unsure of <em>Rearmed 2?</em> Because Fatshark had the audacity to <em>change</em> things -- and if you're a cranky old codger like me, you might be resistant. The rest of you, however, will probably welcome the game with open (bionic) arms.<br />

You can jump in<em> <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/bionic-commando-rearmed-2">Bionic Commando Rearmed 2</a></em>. We know: <em>Weird</em>. You want to know why? With little more than a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/16/mightanddelight-reassembles-grins-bionic-commando-rearmed-team/">cursory announcement</a> a few weeks back of Might&amp;Delight's existence, the ex-<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/grin">GRIN</a> staffers making up M&amp;D's numbers haven't been vocal about what they're working on next. And according to art director Jakob Tuchten, that's (at least partially) because the future is still somewhat unknown for the fledgling studio. "We have had some really nervous and positive meetings with publishers, and we&acute;re sketching up some promising ideas."<br />
<br />
M&amp;D has said, however, that it aims to "continue doing what we started with <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">[</a><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">Bionic Commando</a></em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">] </a><em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">Rearmed</a></em> ... small, fresh games with strong old school flavor." So when we asked about working on more licensed properties, it wasn't surprising that Tuchten teased, "We have a tasty list with publishers and their old titles that we would love to remake." That said, he added that M&amp;D probably won't head in that direction. Hit the break to find out more about the studio's plans for the future, as well as everything else that Tuchten had to tell us.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/07/interview-mightanddelights-jakob-tuchten/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Interview: Might&amp;Delight's Jakob Tuchten</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/07/interview-mightanddelights-jakob-tuchten/">Interview: Might&amp;Delight's Jakob Tuchten</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 May 2010 14:30:00 EST. The game is slated to once again hit Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in Q1 2011 -- no PC version has been announced. While fans might have hoped development would be helmed by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/16/mightanddelight-reassembles-grins-bionic-commando-rearmed-team/">Might &amp; Delight</a>, the studio formed by the ex-Grin staffers responsible for the original <em>Rearmed, </em>the task's been handed to Fatshark, the studio behind <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/lead-and-gold"><em>Lead &amp; Gold</em></a>.<br />
<br />
The sequel sees Nathan Spencer return, this time fighting the presumably evil General Sabio, "a new technologically sophisticated foe," who is "on the brink of launching a deadly missile attack." <em>Rearmed 2</em> also promises new weapons, two-player co-op (no word if it's online this time) and new tunes from the same composers who created the brilliant soundtrack for the original <em>Rearmed</em>.<br />
<br />
Of course, none of that is important because, as the debut trailer makes quite clear, <em>Nathan has learned how to jump</em>.<br />

<strong>Update:</strong> Capcom has officially announced both <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-3">Marvel vs. Capcom 3</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed-2">Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2</a></em>. Additionally, a Capcom representative clarified some details about the <em>MvC3</em> character roster for Joystiq: "We're not necessarily hyping the number of characters with <em>MvC3</em>, we're hyping quality. These aren't just sprites you can plug into the game. This is a full, disc-based release with gorgeous 3D models powered by the latest version of MT Framework. At this point, there are roughly 30 characters in the game, but that number will increase. You can rest assured that Niitsuma-san and his team will be working hard to include as many characters as possible before the game hits next year."<br />

<strong><br />
Original Story:</strong> There have been rumors swirling around about a sequel to Capcom's superhero-flavored fighter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-vs-capcom-2">Marvel vs Capcom 2</a></em> pretty much since the game arrived 10 years ago. And given Capcom's recent success with a <em>Street Fighter</em> revival -- not to mention the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/05/marvel-vs-capcom-2-tops-psn-sales-for-february/">sales</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/23/marvel-vs-capcom-2-defeated-hd-remix-in-sales-battle/">rampage</a> of <em>MvC2</em> on XBLA and PSN -- the sequel rumor mill has once again begun turning furiously. This week's press-only Captivate event in Hawaii, held yearly by the Japanese publisher, is said to have showcased just such a sequel in <em>Marvel vs Capcom 3</em> for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, claims <a href="http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_10306/Marvel_vs_Capcom_3_is_Coming_to_Xbox_360_from_Capcom">PlanetXbox360</a>. At the same event, a sequel to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bionic-commando-rearmed">Bionic Commando: Rearmed</a></em> is alleged to have been announced, though no details were provided in the post.<br />
<br />
According to the report, <em>MvC3</em> will receive a retail release "later this year or early 2011" and will run in "full 1080p." Allegedly, while the full character list is unknown, some have been confirmed. "Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm, and a few others will be back; but the team behind <em>MvC3</em> have said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes," alleges PlanetXbox360. The rumored sequel is said to be a nontraditional 2D fighter, which suggests that it could feature 3D elements, as seen in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/street-fighter-iv">Street Fighter IV</a></em>. PlanetXbox360 claims we'll hear more about the title next week and that the game will be playable at E3 this June. When reached for comment, Capcom told Joystiq, "We don't comment on speculation and rumors."<br />
