The developer's goal is to reach $350k on the funding platform in order to complete <em>Wings: Director's Cut</em>, which would include new missions and story elements not seen in the original game.<br /><br />Per its <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/850516062/wings-directors-cut">Kickstarter</a> page for the project, the game is in development for PC and both Android and iOS mobile platforms. Additionally, the company noted its excitement for the Ouya console (which finished its own crowd-funding campaign at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/09/ouya-kickstarter-end/">$8.5 million</a> this past week), saying it "became official supporters of the Ouya campaign on Kickstarter, and are in line to receive a development kit." Ouya support is in the works for <em>Wings: Director's Cut</em> since Cinemaware has to use that development kit for <em>something</em>, after all.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/12/cinemaware-is-back-at-it-with-a-kickstarter-campaign-for-wings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cinemaware is back at it with a Kickstarter campaign for Wings: Director's Cut</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/12/cinemaware-is-back-at-it-with-a-kickstarter-campaign-for-wings/">Cinemaware is back at it with a Kickstarter campaign for Wings: Director's Cut</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 12 Aug 2012 12:00:00 EST. For those of us of a ... certain age, the name Cinemaware summons up images of some of the most stunning graphics of the mid-to-late-80s, whether that be in <em><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxU78lSvjMc">Rocket Ranger</a> </em>or <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3bN2Is-Yko"><em>It Came From the Desert!</em></a>. Now, the futuristic citizens of 2011 can experience the company's most popular release, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvW6okgy4wA"><em>Defender of the Crown</em></a>, with a $2.99 iPhone port of the Amiga version, just released by Cinemaware.<br />
<br />
Our hope is that the youth of today won't too harshly what we once thought to be the bleeding edge of graphical fidelity. Remember: Judge not, lest ye be judged by the snot-nosed, hologrid-loving kids of 2025.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/12/cinemaware-doing-iphone-games-defender-of-the-crown-now-availab/">Cinemaware doing iPhone games, Defender of the Crown now available</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Aug 2011 16:30:00 EST. Nobody's going to bother to reacquire the publishing rights to the likenesses of a comedy act of (sadly) decreasing relevance, just for the purpose of reselling an awful game for five dollars. <br /><br />That's what we <em>thought</em>, before we remembered that <em>The Three Stooges</em>, originally an Amiga game, had actually been resold recently on both the Game Boy Advance and the PlayStation, and even <a href="http://www.cinemaware.com/3stoogesremaster_main.asp">remade</a> for the PC. Who knows? Maybe there <em>is</em> a market for antiquated licenses!<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/virtually-overlooked-the-three-stooges/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Virtually Overlooked: The Three Stooges</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/virtually-overlooked-the-three-stooges/">Virtually Overlooked: The Three Stooges</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Apr 2008 22:00:00 EST. Storm enemy castles! Win jousting contests! Make out with princesses! And now, experience all these things which would never be possible for most geeks (especially that making-out part) in glorious modern graphics that look even better than the original Amiga version (but only barely). This game is so old, you can legally get it drunk!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/04/defender-of-the-crown-is-back-and-ready-for-more-jousting/">Defender of the Crown is back, and ready for more jousting</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Apr 2007 02:01:00 EST.
