Removing enemy limbs with accurate sniping was originally a feature of the sequel, but developer/publisher City Interactive told us <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Sniper-Ghost-Warrior-2/">last summer</a> it was removed to avoid the game being banned in Germany, given the country's strict censorship laws. The plan then was to introduce the content via free DLC for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.<br /><br />However, a City Interactive representative tells <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/sniper_ghost_warrior_2/news/sniper_ghost_warrior_2s_dismemberment_dlc_has_been_cancelled.html">VideoGamer</a> the Polish studio isn't releasing the DLC. The site notes no reasons were specified, leaving us wondering what's prompted the turnaround and why it's only surfaced now.<br /><br /><em>Ghost Warrior 2</em> survived a number of big delays (almost completely intact) to shoot onto North American retail shelves last week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/21/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-dismemberment-dlc-canceled/">Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 'dismemberment' DLC canceled</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Mar 2013 16:30:00 EST. Curiouser, not one of the developers and publishers named on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/20/heres-everyone-working-on-a-ps4-game/">previous list</a> makes an appearance on the new roll call. A spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe confirmed to us the first list, sent out last week, was erroneous, and this new one is correct. There are no revisions for any other regions.<br /><br />The new list removes a number of significant names, including Mojang (<em>Minecraft</em>), Rovio (<em>Angry Birds</em>), Frozenbyte, Criterion Games, and City Interactive. In their stead are some new noteworthy studios, such as CD Projekt, who've <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/the-witcher-3-confirmed-for-ps4/">confirmed</a> <em>The Witcher 3</em> as a PS4 game. Also included are Bohemia Interactive, Deep Silver, Ninja Theory, IO Interactive, Codemasters, 2K Games, and Sumo Digital. The full list can be found after the break.<br /><br />We've reached out to a number of studios for comment. Mojang's Daniel Kaplan reiterated to us the comments he gave to <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/187080/Which_indies_are_working_on_PS4_games_and_why.php#.USs_QaWeOuJ">Gamasutra</a>, saying his studio hasn't decided anything yet, and that the error is "confusion from Sony's side." Gamasutra's article also confirms <em>Super Crate Box</em> developer Vlambeer and <em>Skulls of the Shogun</em> creator 17-Bit, both included in the original list, as not currently working on anything for the PS4.<br /><br />A spokesperson for <em>Monsters (probably) Stole My Princess</em> developer Mediatonic, included in the original list but not in the corrected one, told us he couldn't make any comment on his studio and PS4 development. Meanwhile, Sumo Digital's inclusion adds weight to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/07/rumor-littlebigplanet-3-is-in-development-at-sonic-all-stars-de/">rumor</a> the British studio is working on <em>LittleBigPlanet 3</em>, but for the PS4. When approached previously about <em>LBP3, </em>a studio representative told Joystiq, "No comment."<br /><br /><div> <strong>Update 1</strong>: A spokesperson for 505 Games tells us the Italian company is "definitely" planning to publish games on the PS4. 505 Games was in the original list of European/PAL PS4 developers and publishers, but not the revised list. The spokesperson noted the company's logo appears in the <a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/02/live0618.jpg">image</a> showcasing PS4 partners, as shown during last week's event, as do many of the names in the revised list.<br /> <br /> <strong>Update 2</strong>: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe informs us the list of European PS4 studios has been further revised. Two more studios are now present in the form of Criterion Games and Ghost Games (an EA studio) - both were in the original list of 53. That takes the tally of confirmed European studios up to 30.</div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/sony-completely-revises-list-of-ps4-eu-studios-down-from-53-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sony completely revises list of PS4 EU studios, down from 53 to 30 [updates]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/sony-completely-revises-list-of-ps4-eu-studios-down-from-53-to/">Sony completely revises list of PS4 EU studios, down from 53 to 30 [updates]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2013 08:15:00 EST. Black left after his vision for <em>Enemy Front</em> proved to be "different from" City Interactive's. <em>Enemy Front</em> was announced in November 2011 as a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/18/enemy-front-is-a-wwii-shooter-by-stuart-black-arriving-in-2012/">World War II first-person-shooter</a>, but since Black's departure it has changed directions.<br /><br />"Following the first game shows, press releases, we decided to take into account the media attention and now we have made a number of quite significant changes in the game storyline and assumptions, including the main character," Tyminski says.<br /><br />City Interactive is now working with cinematic director Mark Bristol in the US and on an "extensive" multiplayer mode, handled by a team in Romania.<br /><br />Black's <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=58896060&amp;authType=NAME_SEARCH&amp;authToken=qoFq&amp;locale=en_US&amp;srchid=e95ed42f-091f-4acc-b3db-4b3cd7ab94c3-0&amp;srchindex=10&amp;srchtotal=93&amp;goback=%2Efps_PBCK_*1_Stuart_Black_*1_*1_*1_*1_*2_*1_Y_*1_*1_*1_false_1_R_*1_*51_*1_*51_true_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2&amp;pvs=ps&amp;trk=pp_profile_name_link">LinkedIn</a> now lists his occupation as "indie developer."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/11/stuart-black-abandons-enemy-front-city-interactive/">Stuart Black abandons Enemy Front, City Interactive</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 11 Oct 2012 18:30:00 EST. Now, it appears the timing still isn't right, as the game will now be released on October 9, Namco has informed <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-06-sniper-ghost-warrior-2-now-set-for-october">Eurogamer</a>.<br /><br />Namco is distributing the game in Europe, but GameStop and Amazon page now list the North American release for October 9 as well. We've contacted publisher City Interactive for confirmation.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/take-a-deep-breath-sniper-ghost-warrior-2-delayed/">Take a deep breath, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 delayed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 10:40:00 EST. Sroczynski referred to the additional content as "DLC" and not an update; however, he did promise it would launch free for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The intention is to release the content in all regions - save for Germany - as soon as the game launches later this year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/06/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-dismemberment-feature-coming-as-launch/">Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 'dismemberment' feature coming as launch DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Jun 2012 18:00:00 EST. Is it about aliens who are, themselves, afraid? Maybe it's about a new emotion that arrives from outer space? We don't know, but we'll find out in <em>Alien Fear</em>, a new Unreal Engine-based shooter coming to PSN (for PS3) and XBLA.<br /><br /><em>Alien Fear</em> is a downloadable FPS in which players control a "highly trained elite commando on a mission of sabotage," in single-player or co-op, with gameplay designed as a "sustained burst of arcade aggression." Stuart Black's "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/stuart-black-now-at-city-interactive-working-on-a-story-driven/">exciting new story-driven WWII shooter</a>" will be called <em>Enemy Front</em>, publisher City Interactive announced today. The game will be powered by CryEngine 3 and will launch on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC with an expected 2012 release date.<br />
<br />
Hopefully, <em>Enemy Front</em> ends up having a happier legacy than Black's previous two high-profile projects: <em>Black</em> and <em>Bodycount</em>. Criterion Games kept on driving with car games after <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/codemasters-working-on-new-fps-from-creator-of-black/">Black left the studio</a> following <em>Black</em>'s cool reception. And then there's <em>Bodycount</em>, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/19/stuart-black-to-leave-codemasters-this-october-bodycount-still/">Black bailed on before production ended</a>, and had a bodycount that included the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/02/bodycount-review/#review">game's reviews</a> and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/codemasters-shutting-down-bodycount-developer/">studio itself</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/18/enemy-front-is-a-wwii-shooter-by-stuart-black-arriving-in-2012/">Enemy Front is a WWII shooter by Stuart Black, arriving in 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Nov 2011 11:19:00 EST. Do you like wings? Well, what about ghosts? How about those things with additional adjectives or nouns? We hope you fall in there somewhere, and so does City Interactive, who announced release dates for both <em>Combat Wings: The Great Battles of World War II</em> and <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2</em> on Wednesday.<br />
<br />
No, we don't mean they're coming out on Wednesday. In fact, <em>Combat Wings</em> will grace you with its aerial, er, grace, next February -- on the 7th for the United States, and the 10th for Europe. Meanwhile, <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2</em>, the followup to last year's critically something-or-othered release, will be available on March 16th in Europe and the 20th in the States.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/20/city-interactive-announces-sniper-and-combat-wings-release-dates/">City Interactive announces Sniper and Combat Wings release dates</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Oct 2011 06:30:00 EST. Sure, you've had to wait to play <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sniper-ghost-warrior"><em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em></a> on your PS3 -- past the mid-2010 release on Xbox 360 and PC, and past the missed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/sniper-ghost-warrior-sets-sights-on-ps3-in-q1-2011/">Q1 release date</a> on PS3 -- but City Interactive's all-noun FPS is coming to the platform June 28, and it'll be available in an extra fancy version when it arrives.<br />
<br />
The<em> Sniper: Ghost Warrior </em>One Shot - One Kill Limited Edition, available only at GameStop for $50, packs the "One Shot-One Kill" DLC, a mode that allows players in single-player mode ten-second intervals of super-sniper powers. You'll be able to shoot through solid objects, do more damage, and hold your rifle extra still.<br />
<br />
The pack also includes a "Sniper Stories" book, a dog tag, a poster, and "production artwork postcards.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/31/one-shot-one-kill-one-sniper-ghost-warrior-ps3-limited-editio/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>One shot, one kill, one Sniper: Ghost Warrior PS3 limited edition</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/31/one-shot-one-kill-one-sniper-ghost-warrior-ps3-limited-editio/">One shot, one kill, one Sniper: Ghost Warrior PS3 limited edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 31 May 2011 18:30:00 EST. City Interactive has confirmed that its upcoming, CryEngine 3-powered sequel to <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em> will finally see the light of day at the developer's booth during E3 2011. The game was one of two titles listed to be shown off in <a href="http://worthplaying.com/article/2011/5/12/news/81343/">an E3 press invitation</a> -- the other being the (possibly CryEngine 3-infused) flight combat sim, <em>Combat Wings: Great Battles of WWII</em>.<br />
<br />
Few details about <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sniper-ghost-warrior-2">Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2</a></em> were revealed in the invitation -- only that the game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and will allow players to "once again step into the ghillie suit of a special ops sniper to take down the enemy." We're obviously psyched about this development, because there are few words on this planet more fun to say than ghillie. Ghillie. <em>Ghillllieeeee</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/12/city-interactive-showing-off-sniper-ghost-warrior-2-at-e3-2011/">City Interactive showing off Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 at E3 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 12 May 2011 23:15:00 EST. City Interactive has announced that the combined PC and Xbox 360 sales of <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sniper-ghost-warrior">Sniper: Ghost Warrior</a></em> have crested a million units. The feat took seven months to accomplish, though the numbers certainly aren't shabby considering <em>Sniper</em> is City Interactive's first Xbox 360 title. A PlayStation 3 version is slated to arrive <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/sniper-ghost-warrior-sets-sights-on-ps3-in-q1-2011/">later this year</a>.<br />
<br />
A sequel, being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/11/city-interactive-working-on-cryengine-3-based-sniper-ghost-warr/">built on CryEngine 3</a>, was announced in January. City Interactive plans to bring the title to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/sniper-ghost-warrior-scopes-out-a-million-sales/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior scopes out a million sales</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/16/sniper-ghost-warrior-scopes-out-a-million-sales/">Sniper: Ghost Warrior scopes out a million sales</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Feb 2011 23:00:00 EST. We say "second" because the developer announced last month that it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/stuart-black-now-at-city-interactive-working-on-a-story-driven/">working with Stuart Black</a> to create an "exciting new story-driven WWII shooter," which doesn't sound like the more modern, stealthy <em>Ghost Warrior</em>. At that time, it also said it had licensed CryEngine 3 for two games.<br />
<br />
Producer Michal Sroczynski revealed the plans for <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2</em> in an interview with <a href="http://www.eurogamer.se/articles/2011-01-11-exklusivt-sniper-2-ar-under-utveckling">Eurogamer.se</a>. He didn't have much else to say about it, except that it will be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. We're kind of hoping for more nouns in the title -- we like the ring of "Sniper: Ghost Warrior Cowboy Boxer Cop Wolfman," ourselves.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/11/city-interactive-working-on-cryengine-3-based-sniper-ghost-warr/">City Interactive working on CryEngine 3-based Sniper: Ghost Warrior sequel</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Jan 2011 13:40:00 EST. We're noticing a trend here. Stuart Black <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/15/codemasters-working-on-new-fps-from-creator-of-black/">comes to a studio</a>, helps to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/04/interview-bodycount-creative-director-stuart-black/">get a shooter off the ground</a>, then <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/19/stuart-black-to-leave-codemasters-this-october-bodycount-still/">silently vanishes into the night</a> as he heads off to help the next studio in need -- at least, that's what we'd like to imagine happens, as the prominent designer of Criterion's <em>Black</em> now has a new gig at City Interactive working on yet another shooter. Evidence points to a game running CryEngine 3, as the company <a href="http://news.bigdownload.com/2010/10/28/city-interactive-to-license-cryengine-3-for-two-upcoming-fps-gam/">recently licensed the engine</a> for two first-person shooters it's currently developing. <br />
<br />
According to <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/31775/Black_Designer_Stuart_Black_Hired_At_City_Interactive_For_New_WWII_Shooter.php">Gamasutra</a>, Black will head up a studio in London and work on what he calls an "exciting new story-driven WWII shooter" that will "emphasize high adventure in a genre that's become bogged down in reverence and historical accuracy." Hey, you're totally preaching to the choir, bud! Why, if we had a nickel for how many times <em>the facts</em> got in the way, we'd be millionaires right now and not -- uh, well, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_TxAg-1ML0#t=8s"><em>Dollar Menunaires</em></a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/stuart-black-now-at-city-interactive-working-on-a-story-driven/">Stuart Black now at City Interactive, working on a 'story-driven WWII shooter'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Nov 2010 23:00:00 EST. It looks like the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/13/sniper-ghost-warrior-shipments-upped-following-success/">surprising success</a> of <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em> on Xbox 360 has led developer City Interactive to port it to PS3. The game will arrive on Sony's console early next year, during the first quarter.<br />
<br />
This <em>newest</em> version of the game will include all of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/10/hold-your-breath-for-sniper-ghost-warrior-patch/">updates</a> (and presumably <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/15/sniper-ghost-warrior-dlc-zooms-in-on-pc-xbox/">DLC</a>) released for the PC and Xbox versions, plus several additions. Notably, <em>Sniper</em> for PS3 will sport improved graphics, more single-player missions, extra multiplayer modes and maps, two new sniper rifles and a new single-player challenge mission.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/sniper-ghost-warrior-sets-sights-on-ps3-in-q1-2011/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior sets sights on PS3 in Q1 2011</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/05/sniper-ghost-warrior-sets-sights-on-ps3-in-q1-2011/">Sniper: Ghost Warrior sets sights on PS3 in Q1 2011</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 05 Nov 2010 13:30:00 EST. The upcoming <em>Shutter Island</em> game for Nintendo DS didn't get announced with a press release and a bunch of hoopla. It just calmly strolled onto the <a href="http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=29688">Entertainment Software Ratings Board website</a> (and Australia's <a href="http://www.classification.gov.au/www/cob/find.nsf/d853f429dd038ae1ca25759b0003557c/5e197cbf937a9cf0ca25777a005d6995!OpenDocument">OFLC</a> as well), just like our man Leo strolled off that boat in the film upon which the game is based. While the Aussie board description only reveals that the game is being published by City Interactive, the ESRB description details it as a "seek-and-find puzzle" (read: hidden object) game. <br />
<br />
Players will take on the role of US Marshals exploring the movie's Shutter Island location where the "Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane" is housed. Aside from finding "clues/items among scenes of jumbled objects," players will interview hospital personnel and uncover patient files -- one of which is said to have a story about "the scalping of relatives for use as hats." So, not for kids then?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/16/shutter-island-game-adaptation-for-ds-rated-by-esrb-oflc/">Shutter Island game adaptation for DS rated by ESRB, OFLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Aug 2010 20:30:00 EST. City Interactive is increasing shipments of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sniper-ghost-warrior"><em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em></a> following the game's unexpected success in the UK. The game premiered two weeks ago at fifth place on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/chart-track">Chart-Track</a>'s Xbox 360 chart and tenth on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/05/lego-harry-potter-casts-petrificus-totalus-on-uk-chart-toppers/">All Formats chart</a>, dipping four spots last week. Not bad for the developer's first major title. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/39968/City-celebrates-Sniper-success">MCV</a> reports that City Interactive CEO Marek Tyminski stated, "We are extremely pleased with the reception <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em> has received." Tyminski is likely talking about the game's financial success and not its critical reception. The game currently has a <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sb=0&amp;tfs=all&amp;ts=sniper+ghost+warrior&amp;ty=0&amp;x=0&amp;y=0">Metacritic</a> score of 55 and 45 on the PC and Xbox 360, respectively.<br />

City Interactive has announced that a patch is headed to its recently released sneaky shooter, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sniper-ghost-warrior"><em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em></a>. The patch is set to fix some GUI problems -- including multiplayer stats -- and will also fix some multiplayer bugs, like the ability to run outside the map. Multiplayer will also see the "Increased ability" for a player to hold his breath. Perhaps most importantly, the patch will fix a crashing issue on the PC version.<br />
<br />
The patch is expected to arrive for both the Xbox and PC version of <em>Sniper </em>within the next two weeks. See the patch notes after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/10/hold-your-breath-for-sniper-ghost-warrior-patch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hold your breath for Sniper: Ghost Warrior patch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/10/hold-your-breath-for-sniper-ghost-warrior-patch/">Hold your breath for Sniper: Ghost Warrior patch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 10 Jul 2010 03:15:00 EST. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/sniper-ghost-warrior">Sniper: Ghost Warrior</a></em> is the first Xbox 360 game to be published by City Interactive. It's a first-person military shooter being released on a platform absolutely inundated with similar games. At first glance, it would be easy to discount the title and assume it's nothing more than an attempt to capitalize on a very popular genre. Thankfully, the game does a few things to set it apart from the <em>Modern Warfares</em> and the <em>Battlefields</em>, namely an emphasis on stealth and sniping finesse.<br />

We're not a hard blog to please. Send us some screens and some video, perhaps a trailer that has a badass guitar solo screeching throughout, and you've won us over. That's exactly what's going on in the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/08/sniper-ghost-warrior-aiming-for-xbox-360-and-pc-in-q2-2010/">Sniper: Ghost Warrior</a> </em>multiplayer trailer above. <br />
<br />
Sure, there's a whole bunch of sniping to check out but, <em>man</em>, those licks! We just hope that music doesn't play in-game, because we probably won't be able to kill anyone while we're busy headbanging with our leather bracelet and denim vest on.<br />

First of all, no, there isn't a better title for an FPS than "Sniper: Ghost Warrior." That's just a fact. Second of all, the game's coming from the makers of such gaming classics as <em>Chicken Riot</em> and <em>I Love Beauty: Hollywood Makeover</em>, so we expect nothing but the best from the just-announced title. <em>Sniper: Ghost Warrior</em> is the first Xbox 360 venture from Poland-based devs City Interactive, an idea the company says was born out of some recent television programming. <br />
<br />
"With all-new programming airing nationally on the History Channel and the Military Channel regarding the training of snipers and their missions, interest in the art of sniping has never been greater," VP of sales Lisa Rivera explains. The game is said to be centered around the assistance of rebels who are trying to overthrow "an aggressive and hostile military command" that has taken over the once-democratic (and fictional) nation of Isla Trueno. A handful of screens were released with the game's announcement this morning (which we've dropped into a gallery below), and if those tickle you pink then it'll interest you to know that the game's got a "Q2 2010" release window.<br />
