<br />
Turbine Entertainment has released two more Champion spotlights for its upcoming DC Universe MOBA <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/infinite-crisis"><em>Infinite Crisis</em></a>, this time showcasing the abilities (and tactical capabilities) of Gaslight Catwoman and Poison Ivy.<br />
<br />
Gaslight Catwoman fills the "glass cannon" archetype by outputting ridiculous amounts of damage, at the heavy cost of having virtually no defensive utility. Keeping with that theme, her play style seems built for stealthy ambushes rather than full-frontal assaults. Poison Ivy, whose profile can be seen <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/04/new-infinite-crisis-trailers-profile-gaslight-catwoman-poison-i/#continued">after the break</a>, is a ranged character capable of performing both support and offensive duties, thanks to a mix of healing, shielding and AOE damage techniques.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/04/new-infinite-crisis-trailers-profile-gaslight-catwoman-poison-i/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New Infinite Crisis trailers profile Gaslight Catwoman, Poison Ivy</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/04/new-infinite-crisis-trailers-profile-gaslight-catwoman-poison-i/">New Infinite Crisis trailers profile Gaslight Catwoman, Poison Ivy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 04 May 2013 16:30:00 EST. According to <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/25/next-scribblenauts-is-a-dc-superheroes-game">IGN</a> sources, the game is currently mired in redesign and may even lose the <em>Scribblenauts Unmasked</em> moniker altogether, though the game is assuredly focused on the DC Comics license.<br /><br />The original design called for a game where Max would embark on adventures to help out DC super heroes, but that may not be indicative of the final product. One scenario detailed includes Max trying to bypass a hungry Killer Croc to infiltrate Wayne Manor through the sewers below. Another anecdote provided presents Max with two seemingly identical police officers, yet one is the villain Clayface and must be discovered.<br /><br />IGN's sources say the game announcement is due at this year's E3, with PC, Wii U and 3DS being listed as supported platforms.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/25/rumor-scribblenauts-dc-comics-game-in-development/">Rumor: Scribblenauts DC comics game in development</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Apr 2013 23:00:00 EST. Twelve different figures are coming in the first run, available only in pre-determined two-packs for $29.95 each.<br /><br />Each figure stands 3.75 inches and has over 20 points of articulation. On May 31, the first two packs will ship: Wonder Woman vs Solomon Grundy and Green Arrow vs Deathstroke. The other packs - Superman vs Nightwing, Flash vs Raven, Aquaman vs Black Adam and Cyborg vs Harley Quinn - will have staggered releases, available this summer on through September.<br /><br />With Batman conspicuously missing from the list of figures, we're left wondering if he's the action figure we want, but not the one we deserve.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/25/dc-promises-injustice-action-figures-among-us-this-summer/">DC promises Injustice action figures among us this summer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Apr 2013 05:30:00 EST. "Obviously the extreme version is it would spawn a lot more things, but I know for sure we are making an <em>Injustice</em> comic." Boon hopes that DC fans will accept the new Injustice universe as they have the Arkham Asylum/City canon.<br /><br />You guys remember back in the 90s, when they made a Street Fighter movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme and then later made <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV6TfJ3rvRI"><em>Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game</em></a>? Well, this is like that, but here's hoping that <em>Comic Books: The Video Game: The Comic Book</em> works out a lot better.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/06/injustice-gods-among-us-comic-book-currently-underway/">Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book currently underway</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Oct 2012 12:00:00 EST. Nightwing and Cyborg have joined the fight in Netherrealm's gritty fighting game. Nightwing (aka Dick Grayson, the original Robin) is a nimble staff-wielding fighter, and Cyborg is a heavy hitter, with strong close attacks backed up with laser shots and missile strikes.<br /><br />We'll get a chance to play both of these heroes tomorrow on the show floor, and we'll let you know how the game is looking these days. Comic-Con runs through the weekend, so stay tuned for lots more four-color-based news from San Diego.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/nightwing-and-cyborg-coming-to-injustice-gods-among-us/">Nightwing and Cyborg coming to Injustice: Gods Among Us</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 21:45:00 EST. There's a lot going on in the DC Universe these days, what with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_52">radically controversial reboot</a> of all its franchises and the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_of_Steel_(film)">new Superman movie</a> that's currently in production, so of course now is the perfect time to announce an iOS Superman title has nothing to do with any of that stuff.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://wireless.ign.com/articles/119/1199960p1.html">IGN reports</a> that veteran iOS publisher <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/chillingo">Chillingo</a> and <em>Denki Blocks!</em> developer Tiger Games (No, not <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Electronics"><em>that</em> Tiger</a>) will bring the last son of Krypton to Apple's mobile operating system, heat-vision and arch-nemesis Lex Luthor in tow. Each level will pit Supes against various sets of challenges, with metals awarded at the completion of each level, ala <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/angry-birds"><em>Angry Birds</em></a>. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dc-universe-online"><em>DC Universe Online</em></a>'s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150327256808472&amp;set=a.105888978471.95098.99160148471&amp;type=1">official Facebook account</a> has teased the fifth update for the popular console and PC MMO, hinting at new features and new characters to play with. The "Fate of the Fortress" update will include a new difficulty mode for the Hive Alert zone (with new loot to match), a duel feature for fighting friends, the ability to fight in the Batcave as yourself (rather than as the premade Iconic characters), and appearances from both Jor-El, Superman's dad, and the evil General Zod. We're not sure how that last one will be used, but best guess is that you'll have to <em>/kneel</em> before him.<br />
<br />
That's just a little MMO humor for you there (very little). <em>DCUO</em> is scheduled to <a href="http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/09/19/massively-exclusive-soes-john-smedley-reveals-f2p-model-for-dc/">go free-to-play by the end of this month</a>, and so presumably the update will drop sometime right around then. In fact, the official account comments on the Facebook page that "Update 5 is soon, F2P is Late October," so we may even see this new content out sooner than the changeover.<br />
<br />

At a recent press event in LA, Sony Online Entertainment revealed a November release window for PlayStation 3 and PC MMO <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dc-universe-online">DC Universe Online</a></em> (the company declined to comment on the possible effects of bridging our universe with DC's). When we pressed for a more solid release date, an SOE rep kept mum, but reiterated that both PS3 and PC iterations of the title would arrive at retail simultaneously later this year. <br />
<br />
With a release window finalized -- falling right in line with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/24/gdc09-the-agency-and-dc-universe-online-coming-2010/">Sony's promised timeframe</a>, might we add -- Sony will assuredly trot out the title in a more open fashion come E3 (read: we'll see more than just Metropolis, <em>we hope</em>). As for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-agency">The Agency</a></em>? Apparently <em>that</em> PS3/PC MMO from SOE is still hiding in the shadows for now.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/02/dc-universe-online-enters-this-universe-in-november/">DC Universe Online enters this universe in November</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 02 Jun 2010 11:25:00 EST. The original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/batman-arkham-asylum"><em>Batman: Arkham Asylum</em>'s</a> large cast of antagonists was awfully daunting for any detective to face off against -- even if that detective has pointy ears and is equipped with exploding Vaseline. Two reports have begun to circulate about the first pair of villains we'll be buffeting with all manner of bat-shaped weaponry in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/batman-arkham-asylum-2"><em>Arkham Asylum 2</em></a>: Talia al Ghul (daughter of immortal mastermind Ra's al Ghul), and everyone's favorite horrible pun-smith, Mr. Freeze.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=11285">According to Gaming Target</a>, Talia's appearance was <a href="http://twitter.com/stana_katic">confirmed on Twitter</a> by her apparent voice actor, "Castle" star Stana Katic -- though any Tweets to that effect have since been pulled. Freeze was similarly confirmed by voice actor Maurice LaMarche (who voiced the latter half of "Pinky and the Brain") in an interview with the <a href="http://www.geekcastradio.com/pod/tooncast/TC_INT-3.mp3">GeekCast Radio Network</a>. These certainly seem like reasonable choices for the next game's cast -- however, we're going to pray that if Mr. Freeze is actually included in the game (in a capacity greater than his cameo in the first <em>Arkham Asylum</em>), his dialogue won't <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRH-Ywpz1_I">sound anything like, well, <em>you know</em></a>.<br />
<br />

While DC's upcoming <em>Mass Effect 2</em> <a href="http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?cat=JUST+ANNOUNCED">figure series</a> includes decent likenesses of Thane, Grunt and Tali, the company is <em>way off</em> on its version of Shepard. In DC's defense, however, the company has no idea what <em>your</em> Shepard looks like, so it was stuck with a mold for Default Shepard instead of the <em>real</em> Shepard -- who everyone knows is vaguely Asian <em>and</em> female.<br />
<br />
According to the scans of DC's solicitation book, posted by <a href="http://www.gamervision.com/gamer/00_19/news/article/first_look_at_dc_39_s_mass_effect_2_action_figures">Gamervision</a>, the figures are still pending approval, but are due for release August 25 of this year. By then, you may be done with <em>Mass Effect 2</em>, so you can use these action figures to stage your own adventures on Planet Your Shelf.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/07/mass-effect-2-figures-feature-shepard-if-not-your-shepard/">Mass Effect 2 figures feature Shepard, if not your Shepard</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 07 Jan 2010 14:30:00 EST. You might have heard the news yesterday that Warner Bros. has shaken up DC to better do battle with the now Disney-owned Marvel. Part of that strategy, according to the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-ct-warner10-2009sep10,0,1779787.story">L.A. Times</a>, is making better use of its IP in licensed properties like video games.<br /> <br /> While the move is definitely Marvel-inspired, we have to imagine part of the impetus comes from the success of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/batman-arkham-asylum"><em>Batman: Arkham Asylum</em></a>, which, according to the article, moved almost <em>2 million</em> units in its first month. Taking games more seriously is a smart move on DC's part ... lets just hope they leave the things that <em>are</em> working alone.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/10/arkham-sells-2m-warner-gets-serious-about-dc-licensing/">Arkham sells 2M, Warner gets serious about DC licensing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Sep 2009 09:15:00 EST. Hyperbole can be venomous to a review's credibility. Any insightful merit which a video game critique may possess seemingly goes out the window as soon as the reviewer starts dropping bombs like "best game ever" or "literally mindblowing" or "it will birth you anew in its magnificence." Perhaps it is because we've all heard these phrases -- save for that last one -- so many times that they've lost their currency with us.<br />
<br />
Rest assured, I'm not being hyperbolic when I say that <span style="font-style: italic;">Batman: Arkham Asylum</span> is unquestionably the best licensed game I've ever played. At the end of the day, however, that's a fairly low hurdle to clear -- it better reflects the game's quality to say it's one of the best stealth-action games ever made, and easily the best video game 2009 has had to offer thus far.<br />

<a href="http://comics.ign.com/articles/100/1003469p1.html">IGN</a> is reporting that DC/Wildstorm Comics and Sony are teaming up to chronicle the events of Kratos in a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/god-of-war"><em>God of War</em></a> comic series. Spanning six issues, this new comic will hit stands this October and is being written by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marv_Wolfman">Marv Wolfman</a> who, among being a notable dude in the comics biz, is also a big fan of the games. <br /><br />The series, which will run up until the release of <em>God of War III,</em> focuses on the sordid tales of Kratos' past, detailing his enrollment in the Spartan army at the age of seven, as well as events that occur between the first two games. What we're wondering is how the comic will include the QTE sex scene. You can't have <em>God of War</em> without that!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/15/dc-comics-to-offer-god-of-war-mini-series-this-october/">DC Comics to offer God of War mini-series this October</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009 16:00:00 EST. Hot on the heels of the news that Warner Bros. has picked <a href="http://www.cinematical.com/2009/07/10/breaking-ryan-reynolds-is-the-green-lantern/">Ryan Reynolds to play the Green Lantern</a> in an upcoming film, the company has announced that it will work with Double Helix (the studio behind <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/silent-hill-homecoming">Silent Hill: Homecoming</a> </em>and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gi-joe"><em>G.I. <br />
<a href="http://games.venturebeat.com/2009/07/13/warner-bros-to-greenlight-green-lantern-superhero-game/">VentureBeat</a> got the scoop on the Xbox 360/PS3 game, which it believes is connected to the film coming June 17, 2011. ... Wait, is this the <em>first</em> Green Lantern game? That can't be right, can it?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/13/double-helix-creating-green-lantern-game-with-sheer-will/">Double Helix creating Green Lantern game with sheer will</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 13 Jul 2009 17:55:00 EST. There's not a comic book <strike>nerd</strike> aficionado alive who doesn't have a profound appreciation for The Joker's right-hand gal, Harley Quinn. The <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/48061.html?r=1&amp;type=wmv">most recent trailer</a> for Rocksteady and Eidos' surprisingly appealing <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Batman%3A%20Arkham%20Asylum">Batman: Arkham Asylum</a></em> (posted after the jump) shows a clear explanation of why this is -- she's <em>out of her flippin' mind</em>. Also, sometimes, she's just flippin'.<br /><br />If you're not familiar with the prowess of Ms. Quinn, the trailer details her sole, villainous super ability: "Total disregard for human life." However, considering the footage we just saw, we think her skill set is a bit more diverse than that. For instance, she shows real promise in the "kicking costumed millionaires in their big, ugly faces" department.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/17/harley-quinn-flips-out-in-latest-batman-arkham-asylum-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Harley Quinn flips out in latest Batman: Arkham Asylum trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/17/harley-quinn-flips-out-in-latest-batman-arkham-asylum-trailer/">Harley Quinn flips out in latest Batman: Arkham Asylum trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Apr 2009 12:15:00 EST. <div align="left">DC Comics toy line, DC Direct, is adding a familiar (but non-DC) property its upcoming action figure lineup: <em>Ratchet &amp; Clank</em>. Consummate comics blog <a href="http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?aid=26747">Newsarama</a> managed to snag a first glimpse of the line, which DC unveiled at today's <a href="http://www.comicspro.org/meet09.html">ComicsPRO 2009 industry event</a>.<br /><br />Prototypes of three series headliners -- Ratchet, Doctor Nefarious and Captain Quark -- have been shown thus far. What? Oh yes, Clank is a headliner, too. He's also one of three sidekick figures which we, er, <em>figure </em>will come packaged with their respective partners. DC Direct hasn't priced or dated the line as of yet, but you can see a <a href="http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album_view.php?gid=914&amp;page=1">high-res photo</a> of its first (and possibly only) wave at the source link.<br /></div>

Apparently, there isn't enough star power allocated to the team that's building <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dc-universe-online"><em>DC Universe Online</em></a>. While comic book industry heavyweights <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Lee">Jim Lee</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoff_Johns">Geoff Johns</a> are already overseeing the production of this SOE-published MMO, there is still one legendary name yet to be revealed. The mysterious person will be unmasked on Saturday, February 7 during the East Coast's largest comics convention, the <a href="http://www.nycomiccon.com/App/homepage.cfm?moduleid=2577&amp;appname=100453">New York Comic Con</a>.<br /><br />Expect to see him (or her) at the <em>DC Universe Online</em> panel, joining both Lee and Johns on a discussion of their latest creation. With Lee directing artistic design and Johns weaving up the storyline, it's a wonder what this other talent will be in charge of. Interested parties can stop by the NYCC at 4:15pm, when the panel starts, and find out. Show attendees can also try out a new <em>DCUO</em> demo on the show floor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/comics-legend-to-join-dc-universe-online-team-announcement-at/">Comics 'legend' to join DC Universe Online team, announcement at NYCC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Jan 2009 10:58:00 EST. Sad news DC and <em>Mortal Kombat</em> fans, Midway's quest for a Teen ESRB rating has taken its first victims. Some of the content in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe"><span style="font-style: italic;">Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe</span></a>, you see, has been scaled back in order to keep the dreaded 'M' rating off of the box. According to <a href="http://kotaku.com/5068657/mk-vs-dc-the-jokers-fatality-gets-t+rated">Kotaku</a>, who spoke with Midway's Ed Boon, <em>Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe</em> has been submitted to the ESRB three times, making minor changes each time in order to move the game from a Mature rating to Teen. The most painful fatality in this process (pun intented), is that the Joker's awesome, <em>awesome</em> "bang" fatality (see it after the break) has been changed, as the final headshot is now performed offscreen.<br /><br />So, in a nutshell, the series that <em>spawned</em> the ESRB is now bound to it. Midway needs its money though, and a T rating will sell more copies, which explains why the company is <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQHfoz9Be7U"><em>so serious</em></a> about it.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/26/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-toned-down-to-keep-t-rating/">Joystiq</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/27/mk-vs-dc-universe-softened-for-teen-rating/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>MK vs DC Universe softened for Teen rating</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/27/mk-vs-dc-universe-softened-for-teen-rating/">MK vs DC Universe softened for Teen rating</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 Oct 2008 11:00:00 EST. Midway has <a href="http://www.businesswire.com/portal/site/home/permalink/?ndmViewId=news_view&amp;newsId=20081014006648&amp;newsLang=en">announced</a> that its crossover brawler <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe"><em>Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe</em></a> will hit stores in November 16 in the US and on November 21 in Europe. In just one month, you'll be able to pit the likes of Wonder Woman and Sonya Blade in a battle to the death. Well, the near death if you happen to be playing as a hero. Who will you choose? Who will come out on top? DC? Mortal Kombatants? The answer is neither. When you pit these two forces together, the one who wins is simple: Midway.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/14/mk-vs-dc-universe-decapitates-retail-november-16/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/15/mk-vs-dc-universe-brutalizes-stores-november-16/">MK vs DC Universe brutalizes stores November 16</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Oct 2008 15:15:00 EST. Maybe it was sitting back and seeing the competition (Marvel) clean house in the games industry but DC Comics has really jumped onto videogames lately. From <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mk-vs-dc">Mortal Kombat vs DC</a></em> to the game based on <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/watch-as-oldman-spills-the-dark-knight-game-details/">The Dark Knight</a></em> we all know is coming, DC is jumping in the gaming pool with both feet. Another example of DC going for a profit swim is the <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/capcom-comics-teaming-up-with-dc-comics-on-resident-evil-and-devil-may-cry-spin-offs">announcement</a> that DC Comics and Capcom plan to bring <em>Resident Evil</em> and <em>Devil May Cry</em> to the comic world.<br /> <br /> The agreement with Capcom isn't the only gaming deal DC has struck lately as the comic giant is also working with EA to release a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/dc-producing-mirrors-edge-prequel-comic/">six-part comic prequel</a> based on the upcoming Mirror's Edge and with Microsoft to publish a series based on Gears of War set to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/dc-set-to-publish-gears-of-war-comic-in-oct/">arrive in October</a>.<br /> <br /> No other details were given about the two Capcom projects but hope that DC's <em>Devil May Cry</em> comic series turns out well, otherwise <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamwave_Productions">they could end up filing for bankruptcy</a> like the last team who tried.<br /><br />[via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/dc-capcom-partner-for-resident-evil-devil-may-cry-comics/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/31/dc-capcom-partner-to-bring-resident-evil-and-devil-may-cry-to-t/">DC, Capcom partner to bring Resident Evil and Devil May Cry to the funny pages</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 31 Jul 2008 16:15:00 EST. Whether it's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mk-vs-dc/">a fist in Batman's gullet</a> or the opportunity for cosplayers to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dc-universe-online/">suit up</a> without ever putting needle to thread, it's become increasingly clear that DC Comics has a thing for video games. The latest example of this comes from a deal between DC and Capcom, which will see a pair of new comic book series created based on <em>Resident Evil</em> and <em>Devil May Cry</em>.<br /><br />The agreement is DC's second in as many weeks following <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/mirrors-edge-comic-coming-from-dc/">last week's deal</a> with EA for a six-part comic book series based on <em>Mirror's Edge</em>, and like that series, both <em>Resident Evil</em> and <em>Devil May Cry</em> adaptations will be released under DC's Wildstorm umbrella. However, with so little to go on, and a creative team and launch month left unspecified until a later date, we doubt we'll be adding either title to our monthly pull lists just yet.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/30/dc-capcom-partner-for-resident-evil-devil-may-cry-comics/">DC, Capcom partner for Resident Evil, Devil May Cry comics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jul 2008 02:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/electronic-arts">Electronic Arts</a> has announced a partnership with DC Comics to produce a six part comic series based on the upcoming run-em-up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mirrors-edge"><em>Mirror's Edge</em></a>. The comic will take place before the events of the game and chronicle the back-story of its main character, Faith, promising that "Frame by frame, page by page, [readers will] learn more about the events that shaped both her and the city." The comic will be penned by Rhianna Pratchet -- who is also the writer of the game itself -- and drawn by artist Matthew Dow Smith. The first issue will be available at the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/comic-con">San Diego Comic-Con</a> this weekend. Everyone likes to prepare for big video games in different ways. Some like to watch <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/23/watch-the-direct-feed-mirrors-edge-demo/">video walkthroughs</a> or even <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/14/mirrors-edge-e3-trailer/">trailers</a>, both of which are very normal. But some people, get this, like to <em>read</em>. And not even normal internet reading like you or me, but reading from <em>paper</em>. Rather than scold this deviant subset, EA is actually encouraging their perversion with a six-part comic book series based on upcoming <em>Mirror's Edge</em>, on DC's Wildstorm imprint. <br /><br />Here's the weird thing: After fans pick up the first issue at their local shop or at San Diego Comic Con, if they get bored while reading it, do you think they can just poke a different part of the page to read something else? No. No, they can't. They have to literally put the comic down and <em>pick up something else to do</em>. C'mon people, live in the now!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/24/mirrors-edge-comic-coming-from-dc/">Mirror's Edge comic coming from DC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Jul 2008 14:16:00 EST. Even cynics like us have to admit at least a passing curiosity with the nerd orgasm that is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/"><em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em></a> and its cross-universe roster. Earlier today we approached the game's production coordinator, Hector Sanchez, and while he would not let us in on the game's complete lineup, he admitted that the team is looking to feature between 20 to 25 characters, "split up evenly half and half, and then split up again between heroes and villains."<br /><br />Additionally, while talking about possible alternate costumes or other unlockables, Sanchez told us that the team is "planning to support downloadable content," before stopping short and saying he "was going to say something" but couldn't. Downloadable characters seems the obvious source of his pursed lips, making us continue wondering what comic book icons will be further ground beneath the heel of Midway's floundering franchise.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/16/mk-vs-dc-to-have-20-characters-download-support/">MK vs. DC to have 20+ characters, download support</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 16 Jul 2008 22:30:00 EST. Not exactly the wisest move, as most of these West Coast-bound bloggers will be spending most of their weekend deciding if it would be a fashion <em>faux pas</em> to <a href="http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/8/27/">bring a fanny pack to the convention</a>, in order to house their digital cameras, iPhones, audio recorders, handheld gaming devices, and their precious <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRuNxHqwazs">energy</a> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-3qncy5Qfk">drinks</a>.<br /><br />With our staunch anti-fanny pack mentality already set in stone, we're able to skip said deliberation and show you these trailers -- the first of which being <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36134.html">the gameplay debut for <em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em></a>. While our mind still boggles at the logistics of how Superman can even <em>feel</em> our measly human punches, the game looks gorgeous, and the mid-air combat between arena tiers looks badass. Hopefully, Midway's E3 booth will give us a chance to get our hands on <em>MK vs. DC</em>, and, as a result, murder some of our favorite childhood heroes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/12/first-mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-gameplay-trailer-is-toasty/">First Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe gameplay trailer is toasty</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 12 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST. When Ed Boon explained that the upcoming <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Mortal%20Kombat%20vs.%20DC%20Universe">Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</a></em> would explore <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/ed-boon-clarifies-mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-fatalities/">the <em>softer side</em> of the series</a> with Teen-rated acts of pugilistic carnage, many fans were upset, as it seemed their thirst for evisceration would go unslaked. <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/07/05/mk-vs-dc-new-screens-plus-brutalities/">The latest salvo of screenshots for the brawler from Midway</a> might confirm or ease your fears of a censored <em>MK</em> title -- no, there's no evidence of any <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-HzJjfH50w">impromptu spine-removal procedures</a>, but there's pummeling and arm-breaking aplenty. Does the latest entry in the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTyIKnRQdx0&amp;NR=1"><em>toasty</em></a> franchise look gruesome enough for your sinister bloodlust?<br />

While the main of that question is still up in the air, one small part of it has <a href="http://www.worldscollide.com/">now been answered</a> (for those few who really care). See, the very first episode of the MKast went up recently and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/mk-vs-dc-includes-modified-fatalities/">promised again</a> to its followers that the game would in fact feature the series' signature Fatalities. <br /><br />Bu- bu- bu- but Batman doesn't kill! Indeed. To rectify this, the DC characters will have what are known as Brutalities instead. Just like a Fatality, except, y'know, not fatal. So far, they've committed to releasing episodes of <em>Batman: The Animated Series</em>, <em>Batman Beyond</em>, <em>Superman: The Fleischer Cartoons</em>, <em>Super Friends</em>, <em>The Adventures of Batman </em>and <em>Aquaman </em>as well as DC based 360 theme and gamer picture downloads. Exciting stuff, especially when you've had nothing but <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/"><em>Dark Knight</em></a> on the mind for the past few months.<br /><br />[Thanks, <a href="http://jarvisslacks.wordpress.com">Jarvis Slacks</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/30/dc-comics-swoops-in-and-saves-the-xblm/">DC Comics swoops in and saves the XBLM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 30 Jun 2008 16:45:00 EST. Breaking a new title into the MMO market is difficult, as any game developer whose name isn't <a href="http://www.blizzard.com/us/splash.html">synonymous with an overabundance of frosty precipitation</a> will attest -- especially when your title fits into a particular niche already explored by another developer. For instance, NCSoft's <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=City%20of%20Heroes">City of Heroes</a></em> cornered the super hero MMO market when it debuted in 2004, creating an intimidating hurdle that other online vigilante simulators have yet to attempt to vault.<br /><br />The latest issue of Edge magazine features an interview with Jim Lee, creative director for Sony's upcoming <em>DC Universe Online</em>, <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/06/27/sony-mmo-dc-universe-online-first-details/">who reveals the steps Sony is taking</a> to set their title apart from NCSoft's. With their inclusion of a number of recognizable faces from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DC_Comics_characters">DC's voluminous roster</a>, and their focus on making the title a "kick-ass hybrid between a traditional MMO and a first-person action console game", the apparent differences between the two games are clear. As long as there's a rich, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquaman">intricate fish-controlling engine</a>, we'll give it a shot.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/28/first-super-details-on-sonys-dc-universe-online/">First super details on Sony's DC Universe Online</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 28 Jun 2008 13:00:00 EST. In a brief interview with <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mortalkombat/news.html?sid=6192868">Gamespot</a>, Midway's Ed Boon has (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/08/midway-modifying-fatalities-for-mk-vs-dc/">once again</a>) discussed the return of fatalities in upcoming cross-brand brawler, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mk-vs-dc"><em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em></a>. The infamous finishing moves will be performed by all Mortal Kombatants and DC Comics villains, but not by any of DC's untarnished heroes. You know, the ones "who don't kill that often." Instead, nicer folks like The Flash will have "brutalities," moves which inflict pain upon the recipients without totally murdering them.<br /><br />Of course, don't expect the levels of violence and depravity to be quite up there (down there?) with previous <em>Mortal Kombat</em> games, as Ed Boon mentions that this Unreal-powered showdown is still pushing a slightly Tamer boundary. "Certain animations, blood effects, and sound effects that we have in the game are really pushing the T-rating envelope," he said. We're sure gore hounds will find this worthy of debate, but we're more concerned about everything that happens <em>before</em> the fatality. <br /><br />Let's hope E3 grants us the opportunity to beat the snot out of that smug Superman.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/">Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/#1075734"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/mkvsdc.ps3box_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/#1075729"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/mkvsdc.360box_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/#1056839"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/09/mk-vs-dc25_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/#1056838"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/09/mk-vs-dc24_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe/#1056837"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/09/mk-vs-dc21_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/24/ed-boon-clarifies-mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-fatalities/">Ed Boon clarifies Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe fatalities</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Jun 2008 17:00:00 EST. Hot off the heels of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/05/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-podcast/">announcing a new podcast</a> related to the development of the upcoming fighter, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mortal-kombat-vs-dc">Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</a></em>, a potential list of special edition extras was teased today. Gamers on Midway's mailing list for more info on <em>MK vs. DC</em> were treated with a survey earlier today that asked which extra they would be interested in if a "Kollector's Edition" was made available.<br /><br />Possible extras include:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Comic Book</li>
    <li>Art Book</li>
    <li>Soundtrack</li>
    <li>T-shirt</li>
    <li>Animation Cell</li>
    <li>Exclusive DC video</li>
    <li>Making of MK vs DC video </li>
</ul>
To be honest we'd like something a bit cooler that deserves the extra few dollars. Not that an art book isn't nice, but how about a statue of Batman punching the lights out of Sub-Zero? Or you know, Kryptonite. In case Superman loses it and someone needs to take him out. Think we'd still prefer the statue, actually.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/06/mk-vs-dc-survey-asks-what-you-want-in-a-potential-kollectors-e/">MK vs DC survey asks what you want in a potential 'Kollector's Edition'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jun 2008 20:00:00 EST. <p>When <em>Frogger 2</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/frogger-2-is-scheduled-for-a-leap-onto-the-xbla/">was revealed</a> (courtesy of the ESRB) to be coming to XBLA, there was some speculation as to which version of the game would end up being ported over. There was <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frogger_II">the original</a> and then the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frogger_2:_Swampy%27s_Revenge">later update</a>, the latter of which was the game with the most content and most recent release, but the Live Arcade has seen older games show up too. Now that the <a href="http://www.360sync.com/2008/05/19/frogger-2-feature">achievements</a> have been revealed, we can see from their details that they definitely refer to things that the later game had, but the earlier didn't. Given that this will be a port, let's hope that the netcode is that of the PC version, because XBLA <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/02/x3f-tv-mr-driller-live-multiplayer-is-a-laggy-mess/">hasn't had</a> the best of luck with the online portion of Dreamcast ports.<br /></p>

When we heard about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-crossing-over-in-fall-08/"><em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em></a>, the first thing we asked ourselves was, "Why?" The second thing we asked ourselves was, "No really, <em>why</em>?" Then we started to wonder, though, why this game wasn't heading to the Wii. It's not that we're going to miss it (although we're sure some of you might, and that's completely fine). It's just that the decision to snub the Wii doesn't seem to make any business sense. The Wii does have a <em>pretty large</em> userbase, after all, and according to the <em>Mortal Kombat</em> series' co-creator and executive producer, Ed Boon, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/01/totally-visceral-presentation-of-mortal-kombat-fatalities/"><em>Armageddon</em></a> did well on the Wii. In <em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em>, were graphics really going to be <em>that</em> much of an issue?<br /><br />As it turns out, the issue is the Unreal Engine. Since the newest version of the engine <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/23/unreal-engine-3-being-adapted-for-wii/">doesn't <em>officially</em> exist</a> for the Wii, the developers thought it would be too challenging to bring the game to Nintendo's console. Yet, according to Boone, they're not against the idea. If they're waiting for Epic to support the Unreal Engine on the Wii, though, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/21/an-epic-diss/">they better not hold their breath</a>. Whether or not Midway will one day use the unofficial engine and port the game to the Wii remains to be seen.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://gonintendo.com/?p=40721">GoNintendo</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/21/no-wii-mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-due-to-unreal-engine/">No Wii Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe due to Unreal Engine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Apr 2008 14:15:00 EST. We were a little skeptical when the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/mko-next-mortal-kombat-pits-mk-against-dc/">first promotional poster for <em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em></a> leaked out this morning, but now that GamesRadar has posted up the <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/xbox-360/news/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-first-trailer/a-200804189373994062/g-20060321132945404017">first trailer for the game</a> our reaction has gone from skepticism to amazement. As in, we're amazed that <a href="http://worldscollide.com/">this thing actually exists</a>.<br /><br />The high impact, mid-air fight between Sub-Zero and Batman (shown below the break) seems a little out of character for the Dark Knight, who's always been more about calculation and strategy than all out hand-to-hand Kombat. We're also a little worried about how the DC heroes' long-standing <a href="http://www.comixtreme.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-23394.html">prohibition against killing</a> is going to match up with the <em>Mortal Kombat</em> series' famously fatal, er, fatalities. But these kinds of academic nerd-concerns are hard to maintain when watching the concentrated 360- and PS3-fueled awesomeness on display in this video.<br /><br /> [Update: Gamespot has an <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/video/943567/6189499/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-video-interview-1">interview with Project Lead Ed Boon</a> that discusses the game's story and the balancing between the variously super-powered characters. The interview also confirm Superman's and Scorpion's somewhat obvious inclusion in the game. <a href="http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/mortalkombat/news.html?page=1&amp;sid=6189513">Gamespot's preview</a> has more details]<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-gets-confirmation-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe gets confirmation, trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/mortal-kombat-vs-dc-universe-gets-confirmation-trailer/">Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe gets confirmation, trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 14:11:00 EST. According to Mortal Kombat Online, we don't have to wait for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/17/noob-coms-big-reveal-happens-tomorrow/">big Noob.com reveal</a> as they say a Midway source has confirmed to them that the next game in the series would be <em>Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe</em>, a game originally rumored <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/28/rumor-next-mortal-kombat-game-versus-dc/">back in September</a>.<br /><br />Normally we'd be skeptical without a press release from Midway in our inbox, but MKO also nabbed the above image which we have to admit looks pretty darn authentic. Hopefully we'll get some more details later in the day about character rosters, but for now, you may be permitted to rabidly fantasize: What's your dream crossover battle? <br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/18/mko-next-mortal-kombat-pits-mk-against-dc/">MKO: Next Mortal Kombat pits MK against DC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Apr 2008 07:30:00 EST. While it is confirmed that there will be another game in the series, the specifics are tightly under wraps for the moment, and Midway plans to release them relatively soon. Some of the outlets that have gotten (or will get) access to the info already have teasers up for the thing, and those in and of themselves may have been more of a giveaway than intended. <br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/xbox-360/news/massive-video-exclusive-coming-tomorrow/a-20080416164726951046/g-20060321132945404017?setRegion=uk">GamesRadar</a> posted a teaser image with promise of an exclusive video tomorrow, but they should have looked much more closely <a href="http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2008/04/MKDC/MKDC%20blog--article_image.jpg">at the filename</a>. The image is named "MKDC blog--article_image" which basically gives away the big secret. Not to mention the blatantly obvious Superman silhouette in the picture itself. It looks as though Midway might have an answer of their own to Marvel VS Capcom and X-Men VS Street Fighter. Too bad they're about 10 years too late.<br /> <br /> [Note: Since this post's original writing, <a href="http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2008/04/MKDC/MKDC%20blog--article_image.jpg">the picture</a> has been removed from <a href="http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/xbox-360/news/massive-video-exclusive-coming-tomorrow/a-20080416164726951046/g-20060321132945404017?setRegion=uk">GamesRadar's post</a>, so interpret what that means for yourself.
