Er, we mean, it's called <em>Munchies</em>. Cheng showed us a brief demo of <em>Munchies </em>on the iPad, and it looks appropriately adorable for the next Eets game, starring the classic bunny-like main character and clean cartoon graphics, in line with the screen from the first <em>Eets </em>shown above.<br /><br /><em>Eets: Munchies</em> is coming to the iPad for sure, but Cheng has yet to reveal other platforms. He said the title is far from being complete.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/07/eets-munchies-is-kleis-new-title-man/">Eets: Munchies is Klei's new title, man</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 07 Mar 2012 17:00:00 EST. Cheng presented at the Failure Workshop, showing off the many iterations and doomed decisions of <em>Eets: Sugar Rush</em>, a title Klei worked on for four years before it was canceled for good.<br /><br />Cheng said Klei was burnt out on <em>Sugar Rush</em> (later renamed <em>Scrappers</em>), so the new Eets title will probably have more to do with healthful eating habits and complete objects than anything else. We'll have more details on the failures of Klei, Supergiant Games, Enemy Airship and Northway Games in a separate story later today.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/06/klei-entertainment-chowing-down-on-new-eets-title/">Klei Entertainment chowing down on new Eets title</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 06 Mar 2012 15:30:00 EST. The latest Indie Royale bundle has more than enough holiday cheer to warm the deepest, darkest cockles of your heart-meat. The "<a href="http://www.indieroyale.com/">Xmas Bundle</a>" nets its purchasers six games for the price of ... well, a street vendor hot dog -- there's the remastered <em>Blackwell Trilogy</em> (which is technically three games, right?), the Source-powered <em>Dino D-Day</em>, the topical sim <em>The Oil Blue</em> and the effortlessly delightful <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/eets"><em>Eets</em></a>.<br />
<br />
The whole bundle's currently available (at the time of this writing) for $3.80 -- a price which will increase as time goes on, but decrease if purchasers pay more than the minimum amount. Act fast! Or, for our sakes, act charitable.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/12/indie-royale-xmas-bundle-has-eets-dino-d-day-and-more/">Indie Royale Xmas Bundle has Eets, Dino D-Day and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 12 Dec 2011 22:00:00 EST. Klei Entertainment's <em>Eets</em>, a puzzle/platformer hybrid reminiscent of <em>Lemmings</em>, finally has a Mac version --- and it's available <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/6100/">via Steam</a>. In fact, it's being discounted 75 percent in a launch promotion, meaning you can snag a copy for a paltry $2.50. It's a SteamPlay release, so you get both the Mac and PC version in one purchase.<br />
<br />
It's a fun, totally charming game that we'd never have guessed would be the precursor to Klei's most recent release: the blood-soaked, hardcore action title <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/shank">Shank</a></em>. They're ... what's the term? ... oh yeah, polar opposites.<br type="_moz" /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/eets-unleashed-on-mac-75-off-via-steam/">Eets unleashed on Mac, 75% off via Steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 09 Dec 2010 01:00:00 EST. Footage from an early build of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Eets/">Eets</a></em> developer <a href="http://au.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/982/982032p1.html">Klei Entertainment's next project</a> has been circulating the nets recently. The stylish brawler/platformer, titled <em>Shank</em> (monosyllabic titles seem to be Klei's specialty), has been wowing viewers with it's brutal gameplay and stylish, <em>Venture Bros</em>-esque visuals -- though many are wondering what the release platform of the title will be. An Xbox control scheme shown at the beginning of the video led many to assume the title would be coming to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/XBLA/">XBLA</a> -- however, this isn't exactly confirmed.<br /><br />In an email, Klei Entertainment's Jamie Cheng explained, "The platform is currently not set in stone, but I suppose you could make an educated guess based on past experience. Even I honestly don't know 100%." Our guess, which is <em>alarmingly</em> educated, is that it will land on both XBLA and PC. While we wait to find out, we highly suggest checking out the aforementioned <em>Shank</em> footage, which we've posted after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamerbytes.com/2009/05/shank_coming_to_xbla.php">GamerBytes</a>]<br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/eets-developer-working-on-shank-possibly-a-new-xbla-title/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Eets developer working on Shank, possibly a new XBLA title</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/13/eets-developer-working-on-shank-possibly-a-new-xbla-title/">Eets developer working on Shank, possibly a new XBLA title</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 May 2009 16:30:00 EST. For only 200 Microsoft points <em>Eets: Chowdown</em> owners can purchase <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/29/marketplace-roundup-for-august-29-2007.aspx">Puzzle Pack 1</a> off the XBLM and enjoy "more explosive items" and over "20 new levels to explore". Sounds enthralling. We're sure this Puzzle Pack 1 purchase will be one of those things where you end up buying the new content simply because you already own <em>Eets</em> and because 200 points isn't that big of commitment. But that doesn't make it bad now does it? Put on your spiffy new bib, it's time to chowdown.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/30/eets-can-chowdown-on-new-dlc/">Eets can chowdown on new DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 30 Aug 2007 12:15:00 EST. There's only one problem you see: you can't have a double header without <em>two</em> games. Upon booting up the trusty Xbox this morning, <em>Eets</em> was nowhere to be seen. <em>Pinball FX</em> was there (and it's pretty decent, by the way), but <em>Eets: Chowdown</em> was a no show. According to <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/04/25/arcade-eets-chowdown.aspx#2">comments</a> on <a href="http://www.majornelson.com">MajorNelson.com</a>, the game was briefly available but failed to launch once downloaded. It looks like the game was pulled as a result. It's unfortunate because we were particularly looking forward to <em>Eets</em>. Now all we have is pinball. 360 fanboys am cry. We've asked for an official explanation from Microsoft, and we'll spread the word when we get a response.<br /><br /><font color="#ff0000">Update 1:</font> It looks like <em>Eets</em> is <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/04/25/arcade-eets-chowdown.aspx#91">back up</a> and ready to download (or re-download). So go ahead and take a quick peek and what you'll be shooting for in the puzzle game. We're kinda craving a <strong>Double Marshoburger</strong> ourself. That being said we're kind of curious <br />why "Smoreland" is worth 0 Gamerscore. Another double dose of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbla">XBLA</a> hotness this week! Following up last weeks delirium inducing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/16/this-wednesday-xbla-brings-gyruss-minigolf-adventures-end-of/">release</a> of both <em>MiniGolf Adventures</em> and <em>Gyruss</em>, Microsoft will be <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2007/04/23/EETsPinballFX.aspx">bringing</a> <em>Eets: Chowdown</em> and <em>Pinball FX</em> this Wednesday for <a href="http://www.mspconverter.com/results.php?MSP=800&amp;conversion=Convert">800 Microsoft Points</a> each.<br /><br />Klei Entertainment, who is also behind <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/29/indie-darling-n-bound-for-xbox-live-arcade/"><em>N+</em></a> for XBLA, is responsible for <em>Eets: Chowdown</em> which combines the spirit of <em>Lemmings</em> with the chemically unbalanced nature of Princess Peach. <em>Pinball FX</em>, on the other hand, has us slightly less thrilled with three fictional boards to choose from, online play and optional support for the Vision Camera to control the flippers. Yay on the online play and nay on the arm flailing flippers, thanks.<br /><br />Whether you're excited for these two or not, you have to admit -- two titles a week is a huge improvement over barely hitting two titles a month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/23/eets-chowdown-and-pinball-fx-to-xbla-this-wednesday/">Eets: Chowdown and Pinball FX to XBLA this Wednesday</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Apr 2007 13:38:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.xblarcade.com/node/335">first</a> is that <a href="http://www.kleientertainment.com/">Klei</a>'s <em>Eets</em> is headed to Xbox Live Arcade. According to an <a href="http://www.usk.de/64_Pruefdatenbank.htm?id=64&amp;s=search&amp;title=eets&amp;publisher=&amp;genre=0&amp;system=Microsoft+XBOX+360&amp;freigabe=0&amp;s.x=52&amp;s.y=8&amp;s=search">entry</a> from the USK (essentially the German version of the ESRB), a 360 game called <em>EETs Chowdown</em> (in the "Arcade" genre) has been rated appropriate for all ages. Naturally, the speculation here is that <em>Eets</em> must exist in order to be rated. Not ironclad proof that the game is headed for the Arcade, but it's a significant marker to be sure. You can check out an <em>Eets</em> demo <a href="http://www.ninjabee.com/eets/index.html">here</a>.<br /><br />The <a href="http://www.xblarcade.com/node/334">second</a> rumor is that MumboJumbo's <em>Luxor 2</em> is also headed to the arcade. <em>Luxor 2</em> (play the demo <a href="http://www.mumbojumbo.com/game/game/44">here</a>) is something like a combination between <em>Breakout</em> and <em>Zuma</em>, in which players match different colored balls as they come tumbling toward the bottom of the screen. The rumor stems from a rating found on the <a href="http://www.esrb.org">ESRB</a> website. To see it yourself, search for <em>Luxor 2</em> and restrict the platforms to the Xbox 360. Granted, we have no confirmation on either of these titles, but with review code out there somewhere, signs definitely point to yes. Good news, especially for those of us crying for some non-action Arcade titles.<br /><br /><font color="red">Update</font>: Klei is responsible for <em>Eets</em>. NinjaBee is only a distributor.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/17/rumor-xbla-to-get-eets-and-luxor-2/">Rumor: XBLA to get Eets and Luxor 2 [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Jan 2007 13:45:00 EST.
