What's your favorite <em>Fable</em> game? Lionhead is seeking the (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/">obvious</a>) answer in a <a href="http://lionhead.com/Fable/FableIII/Survey.aspx">community survey</a> that's also intended to rank the franchise's thirteen core features, as listed by the developer, in order of importance. <em>Fable</em> players are asked to evaluate design elements like accessibility, British <em>humour</em>, co-op and the Dog, assigning each its rightful, subjective rank. (And what about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/12/fable-2-bugs-squashed-with-title-update/">the</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/02/fable-3-fixes-incoming-lionhead-asking-for-bug-submissions/">bugs</a>, you're wondering? Those are actually dealt with in a <a href="http://lionhead.com/fable/fableIII/issuereport.aspx">separate survey</a>.)<br />
<br />
"Sure we could try and digest 1,000,000 forum posts and come up with the data that way," Lionhead community manager Sam Van Tilburgh wrote in a <a href="http://lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2011/02/09/community-call-what-is-your-fable.aspx">community call</a> to take the survey, "but it would take way too long and so it isn't very efficient."<br />
<br />
"Lionhead has a long relationship with a large and passionate community," Van Tilburgh added in a comment on the post, "so it's just a continuation of what we've been doing for many years now" -- and, presumably, for many years to come. Head of the pride Peter Molyneux has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/29/molyneux-talks-three-new-fables-and-a-secret-project/">previously</a> said his studio has plans for at least a <em>Fable 4</em> and <em>5</em>, which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/24/fable-franchise-expected-to-incorporate-milo-technology/">could include</a> Kinect integration (not mentioned in the survey).<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fable-iii/"><em>Fable 3</em></a> debuted last October and went on to become the #7 bestselling release of 2010 on Xbox 360, according to NPD data published by <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/32873/Exclusive_NPD_Reveals_2010_US_New_Game_Charts_Per_Platform_.php">Gamasutra</a>. The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-3,@pc">PC version</a> is still unreleased.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/10/lionhead-survey-seeks-feedback-on-fable-franchise/">Lionhead survey seeks feedback on Fable franchise</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Feb 2011 16:35:00 EST. "I think we're taking a poorly implemented feature in <em>Fable 2</em> and really making it shine in <em>Fable 3.</em>" Peter Molyneux's enthusiasm, equally infamous and infectious, doesn't necessarily extend into the past. The creative director of Microsoft Game Studios Europe guided us through <em>Fable 3</em><em>'s</em> improved co-op design during a Friday morning <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tgs-2010">TGS</a> session, eagerly contrasting new features with some earnest recollection of the previous game's shortcomings.<br />
<br />
"Well, to be honest, the problem we had -- it was a bizarre problem -- is that every time you do something different, and this will sound horribly mechanical but it comes down to this at all times ... When you create a different version, then that needs a complete test pass," Molyneux explained. "So we had in <em>Fable 2,</em> because co-op came in quite late, couch co-op and we had [Xbox] Live co-op. We hadn't really planned for the fact that we were going to have to do a test pass. An entire test pass for the single player; an entire test pass for the couch co-op; an entire test pass for the Live co-op."<br />
<br />
Intent on adding online co-op to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fable-ii"><em>Fable 2</em></a> within a limited time frame, Lionhead Studios essentially went for a prudent two-for-one deal: take the working couch co-op online. "We could save a whole test pass if we made Live and couch co-op almost identical in <em>Fable 2,</em> and we were kind of running low on time so we had to do that," said Molyneux. Since the game essentially believed it was running on one screen, both players had to relinquish control of the camera -- and one had to settle for playing as a generic impostor in place of a true hero.<br />
<br />
In <em>Fable 3,</em> you're allowed to take your hero into someone else's game, along with your upgradeable weapons, abilities and fluffy, canine companions. You can marry your co-op partner, divorce them, go into a business partnership and even play pat-a-cake with them. And -- finally -- both players have a fully controllable camera. This is how the best internet romances start.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/17/fable-2-co-op-shortcomings-as-explained-by-peter-molyneux/">Fable 2's co-op shortcomings as explained by Molyneux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Sep 2010 13:30:00 EST. Just after <a href="http://www.engadget.com/show#player">Engadget Show</a> host Josh Topolsky finished grilling Peter Molyneux on stage this past Wednesday, we wrangled Molyneux for <em>another</em> interview. First and foremost, we had to clear up what happened to the promise of Kinect in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fable-iii">Fable 3</a></em> -- and we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/05/molyneux-fable-3-kinect-features-needed-more-development-time/">already told you</a> his answer to that -- but we also wanted to venture into more general discussion. <br />
<br />
Molyneux spoke openly to us about the potential of Kinect, his personal struggle with promising game mechanics that may or may not end up in the final release, and how the success of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/fable-ii">Fable 2</a></em>'s episodic release will influence his studio's future.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/06/interview-peter-molyneux-talks-kinect-milo-and-fable-3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Interview: Peter Molyneux talks Kinect, Milo, and Fable 3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/06/interview-peter-molyneux-talks-kinect-milo-and-fable-3/">Interview: Peter Molyneux talks Kinect, Milo, and Fable 3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Aug 2010 09:55:00 EST. You've been able to download <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> through Xbox Live episodically until now, but who has time for all that thumb stick manipulation, button pressing and dashboard navigation? <em>Zeroes</em>, that's who. Starting today, you can buy the game like a sane person: In one big chunk for $20 from Games on Demand. Additionally, <em>Kung Fu Panda</em> is now available for purchase through Games on Demand for $30.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/04/06/games-on-demand-fable-ii-and-fallout-3.aspx">Major Nelson also announced</a> that <a href="http://fallout-3"><em>Fallout 3</em></a> is now available on demand in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, leaving India and Japan as the sole holdout territories that can't experience the joy of <em>nuclear devastation </em>with a single button press. Soon, guys. Soon.<br />

At the tail end of our GDC interview with Lionhead's Peter Molyneux, we remembered one more question we simply had to know: How well did <em>Fable 2's</em> episodic experiment go? We'll refresh your memory: Last August, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/fable-ii-episodic-adventures-revealed-starts-sept-29/ ">Molyneux announced plans</a> to release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2/"><em>Fable 2</em></a> as a series of five downloadable "episodes," with the first one given away and the subsequent four priced at $10 each.<br />
<br />
Molyneux's response: "That was hugely successful. There were something like over half a million. I think it was 600,000 downloads of the first episode, which was very, very cool." Of course, the first episode was free so how was the conversion rate? "It was a much higher than a normal conversion rate," Molyneux smiled. "Massively, massively successful, and I really love this relationship, which is much more sliced into episodes with consumers."<br />
<br />
Of course, knowing where we were going with this particular line of questioning, Molyneux preemptively offered an answer."But we're not announcing whether that's coming out in this release," he said, tossing a smile towards the attentive PR people behind me.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/13/fable-2-episodic-experiment-deemed-massively-successful-by-mol/">Fable 2 episodic experiment deemed 'massively successful' by Molyneux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 13 Mar 2010 13:00:00 EST. Hey, you remember the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/into-the-pixel">Into the Pixel</a> exhibit at last year's E3, right? Oh, no, that's right, they don't allow <em>the plebes</em> in. Had you been lucky enough to grace it with your stares, you'd have found a "jury-curated exhibition of video game art created by published video and computer game artists." And now that very same art can be found gracing the pages of eBay, as the Academy of Interactive Arts &amp; Sciences has opened up bidding on a smattering of pieces (starting yesterday and running through February 20). <br />
<br />
Featuring art from games like <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/flower">Flower</a></em> and <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2">Fable 2</a></em>, the proceeds will help to fund the AIAS' scholarship programs. The bidding has most certainly begun, though most pieces remain at their initial $100 opening bid as of publishing. If there's one thing we could've used in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2">Fable 2</a>,</em> it was a more fleshed-out co-op system. Sure, we could see our friends' orbs floating about Albion and we could even invite them to play as a one-off character in our world, but it was one unable to collect experience or have any lasting impact on our game. As you might image, Lionhead's head lion Peter Molyneux is ready to deliver just that in <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-3">Fable 3</a></em>. Molyneux told the <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3176640">4Guys 1UP podcast</a>: "I heard you all about co-op. You want to have your own hero come into the world. Okay, fine, you can have that definitely."<br />
<br />
Detailing the system further, he admitted that the player's dog and weapons will also be available in co-op. "When you come into my world, you come in as your hero, with your dog, with all your unique weapons, self-crafted weapons. I heard you -- you don't wanna be tied to my camera, you wanna go off and do your own thing in my world. Fine, fair enough." <br />
<br />
That said, he warned about "consequences" from bringing in said friends to your own version of Albion. "It means careful who you invite in, 'cause they can screw the whole thing up, man!" And then, when the possibility of using the new "touch" functionality came up, things took a turn for the weird. "Yes you can use touch with your co-op partner. Yes you can walk down the street hand-in-hand. Yes you can drag your co-op partner to your dungeon and see what happens. Absolutely." Keep in mind, folks -- what happens in the dungeon <em>stays</em> in the dungeon. Rawr!<br />

Just in time for Valentine's Day, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=br_lf_m_1000480581_pglink_prev?ie=UTF8&amp;plgroup=1&amp;docId=1000480581&amp;plpage=1">Amazon</a> is now offering a special buy two, get one free deal on Xbox 360 Platinum Hits titles. The deal is fairly straightforward: just pop three Platinum Hits games into your cart and the cheapest of the three will be knocked down to the wallet-friendly price of <em>zero dollars</em>. It's really the perfect excuse to pick up some great games you might have missed, especially considering many of them have sequels out this year -- notably <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fable-3"><em>Fable II</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/halo-reach"><em>Halo 3</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-new-vegas"><em>Fallout 3</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect-2"><em>Mass Effect</em></a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock</em></a> and <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/dead-rising-2"><em>Dead Rising</em></a>. You'd better do it quick though, as the offer is only valid through February 13 and only while supplies last.<br />

<a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/halo-wars-and-fable-ii-now-classics">Eurogamer</a> reports that two new games have been added to the Xbox 360 Classics budget line in EU territories. The two games are <em>Fable II</em> and <em>Halo Wars</em>. If you need a refresher, <em>Fable II</em> is Lionhead's brilliant, charming adventure that we <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/">kind of liked back in 2008</a>. <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/halo-wars"><em>Halo Wars</em></a> on the other hand, serves as both the first <em>Halo </em>RTS spin-off and the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/29/ensemble-co-founder-says-goodbye-as-studio-closes/">swan song of Ensemble Studios</a>. The games can now be had for the tempting price of &pound;19.99 ($31) apiece. Both are worth picking up -- just be sure to watch out for those Warthog rushes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/05/halo-wars-fable-2-join-europes-xbox-360-classics/">Halo Wars, Fable 2 join Europe's Xbox 360 Classics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 05 Feb 2010 22:15:00 EST. <a href="http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/platinumhits/">Xbox.com</a> has listed several new games as <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/platinum-hits">Platinum Hits</a>, including <em>Fable II </em>(aka <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/fable-2-game-of-the-year-edition-confirmed/">Game of the Year Edition</a>), <em>Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead, The Orange Box, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts &amp; Bolts, Ninja Gaiden II, Kung-Fu Panda, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, </em><em>Sonic The Hedgehog</em>, and <em>Sonic Unleashed</em>. <br />
<br />
A Microsoft PR agent couldn't confirm the full list of new Platinum Hits (are we missing any above?), but said that if a game is listed as such on Xbox.com, it's a Platinum Hits title. The changes seem to have taken effect on major retailer sites, as GameStop and Amazon now reflect the discounted Platinum prices (if not always the the Platinum Hits branding), which range from $20-30.<br />
<br />
With <em>Orange Box</em> requiring only one Jackson ($20), it's now <em>literally a</em> <em>crime</em> to not own it. Conversely, if you're dead-set on committing a crime, buy someone <em>Sonic The Hedgehog</em> or <em>Sonic Unleashed </em>at $20 each.<br />
<br />

<br />
The Vodafone Casa TV service not only lets you watch on-demand TV through your Xbox 360, but also grants Portuguese patrons the ability to access content from their set-top boxes and set times for their set-top box to record live television. While users won't be able to directly record content to their Xbox 360, they can still access certain functions of the console while streaming content, including private chat and accepting game invites. <br />
<br />
Existing Vodafone Casa TV subscribers with an Xbox 360 can snag the software for a mere &euro;9.90.<br />

This has to be the most endearing display of cross-developer love we've seen during our games writing careers. Capcom's Shawn Baxter (a.k.a. "Snow,") <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2009/12/05/my_hand_made_fable_fortunes_tower_set">recently posted on the company's community blog</a> about his latest D.I.Y. project -- a real-life version of <em>Fortune's Tower</em>, one of the pub games featured in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable II</em></a>. Oh, and in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2-pub-games"><em>Fable II Pub Games</em></a>, though you probably didn't need us to tell you that.<br />
<br />
Words can't really describe this two-month, $400 project as well as pictures, so hop on over to <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2009/12/05/my_hand_made_fable_fortunes_tower_set">Capcom's blog</a> and check out the <em>delectable</em> fruits of Baxter's labor. If you're of a crafty ilk, the post also contains a few blueprints you can follow to make your own <em>Fortune's Tower</em> set. We probably won't post about yours, though. This is a one-time thing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/06/capcom-employee-recreates-fable-iis-fortunes-tower-pub-game/">Capcom employee recreates Fable II's Fortune's Tower pub game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 06 Dec 2009 15:00:00 EST. Here's a little reminder that there are three, count 'em <em>three</em>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/deal-of-the-week,@xbox">Xbox Live Deals of the Week</a> this week, just in time for Thanksgiving. <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/11/23/deal-of-the-week-3-of-em.aspx">Up for grabs</a> are the <em>Fable II</em> "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/see-the-future">See the Future</a>" DLC, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/peggle"><em>Peggle</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/death-tank"><em>Death Tank</em></a>. <em>Peggle</em> is now half price at 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />, "See the Future" drops from 560<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($7) to 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5), while <em>Death Tank</em> takes a precipitous tumble from 1200<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($15) to 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10).<br />
<br />
We'll also take this time to remind everyone that this week is the perfect time to snag both <em>Peggle</em> and the recently released <em>Peggle Nights</em> expansion all for 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10). Trust us, <em>Peggle</em> is the perfect thing to calm the inevitable family arguments over the holidays. Just don't let grandma anywhere near it, because she will <em>not</em> give it back.<br />

Heading into the Thanksgiving weekend and the beginning of the holiday season, Microsoft has <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2009/11/19/kd830.aspx">revealed</a> the upcoming additions to Games on Demand and Deals of the Week. On November 23, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/games-on-demand,xbox-live">Games on Demand</a> will see three new entries, <em>Saints Row 2</em>, <em>LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/battlefield-bad-company"><em>Battlefield: Bad Company</em></a>.<br />
<br />
The same week, there will actually be three Deals of the Week. The <em>Fable II </em>DLC "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/see-the-future">See the Future</a>," normally 560<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($7) will be knocked down to 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5). Meanwhile, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/death-tank"><em>Death Tank</em></a>, usually 1200<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($15), will be reduced to 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10). As The best deal, however, will be the excellent puzzler <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/peggle"><em>Peggle</em></a>, which will shoot from 800<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($10) to 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5). Pair that with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/peggle-nights-may-arrive-for-xbla-this-week/">recently released </a><em>Peggle Nights</em> expansion (400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />), and you've got a <em>lot</em> of sweet, sweet <em>Peggle</em> for only $10.<br />
<br />
As<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/19/sonic-2-soon-to-be-xbox-live-deal-of-the-week/"> revealed earlier</a>, <em>Sonic the Hedgehog 2</em> will the Deal of the Week starting November 30. It will be reduced from 400<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($5) to 240<img alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($3).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/19/ms-announces-incoming-games-on-demand-deals-of-the-week/">MS announces incoming Games on Demand, Deals of the Week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 19 Nov 2009 19:15:00 EST. Microsoft Game Studios' corporate vice president, Phil Spencer, doesn't seem like the easily startled type. In fact, on the list of things that wouldn't catch him off guard, the incorporation of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/project-natal">Project Natal</a> into a high-profile, Xbox 360-exclusive franchise probably doesn't sit very high. Perhaps a few spots below lots of people buying a new <em>Halo</em> game.<br /><br />During a Tokyo Game Show interview (look for the full transcript soon), Spencer told Joystiq that the innovation fostered inside Lionhead Studios made it a good match for Microsoft's forthcoming motion control system. "You know, Lionhead's been a real innovation studio for us," he said. "We have the release of Fable 2 episodic this week, where they're taking Fable 2 and breaking it up into chunks, allowing people to buy the content at their pace. Fable 2, I thought, was a great release, with the orbs they added with Live, adding new functionality to the franchise. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Natal found its way into future iterations of Fable."<br /><br />Whether or not motion functionality will show up in 2010's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-3"><em>Fable 3</em></a> is a matter of speculation, though your role as king in that game would certainly lend itself to some interesting ... regal maneuvers. <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/special-edition-gears-2-fable-ii-on-the-way">Eurogamer</a> reports that <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2009/08/17/fable-ii-game-of-the-year-edition-spotted/"><em>Fable II: Game of the Year Edition</em></a> has been confirmed by Microsoft. Furthermore, the site notes that the title will release in Europe on September 18 for &euro;64.99/&pound;39.99. Doing a little digging of our own, we uncovered the box art for the game (pictured above), which gives us some idea of what to expect in the package. According to the box, purchasers will receive: "More Quests! More Locations! More Choices!"<br /> <br /> If previous retail listings for the title are to be believed, all that "more" will be comprised of both the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/14/joystiq-review-fable-2s-knothole-island-dlc/">Knothole Island</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joystiq-review-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/">See the Future</a> DLC packs. So far, the <em>Game of the Year Edition</em> has only been confirmed for Europe, but we've contacted Microsoft for confirmation and details regarding a North American release.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/28/fable-2-game-of-the-year-edition-confirmed/">Fable 2: Game of the Year Edition confirmed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 28 Aug 2009 12:20:00 EST. Hot off the announcement this morning of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/molyneux-announces-fable-iii-at-gamescom/"><em>Fable 3</em> coming to Xbox 360 in 2010</a>, Microsoft Game Studios of Europe head <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/peter-molyneux">Peter Molyneux</a> sat down to discuss the franchise a bit with <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/peter-molyneux-part-two_4?page=1">GamesIndustry.biz</a>. Though the acutely over-promising developer kept tight-lipped about details on the upcoming sequel, he did let slip that <em>Fable 3</em> will question "some of the foundations that <em>Fable</em> [the franchise] is built on." <br /><br />We're not sure <em>exactly</em> what that means, but we already know that the gesture system has been given a major facelift. The moral choice aims to be a lot deeper than in <em>Fable 2</em> as well, with Molyneux saying promises you make in your rise to power will affect your position as the people's ruler. We'll be sure to remember these promises when the game releases next year (that's three promises so far, Molyneux!). <br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/">Fable 3</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/#2218330"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/fable3logo1024_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/#2702187"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/fable_iii_screenshot_bowerstone_industrial_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/#2702188"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/fable_iii_screenshot_cave_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/#2702189"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/fable_iii_screenshot_dragging_beggar_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-iii/#2218328"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/fable3art1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/fable-3-will-question-the-foundations-on-which-fable-is-built-s/">Fable 3 will question the foundations on which Fable is built, says Molyneux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Aug 2009 15:57:00 EST. Peter Molyneux announced, during the Lionhead press conference at GamesCom, that <em>Fable II </em>episodic adventures are on the way. The first chapter is free. Once players get to the ending they can opt to buy the next chapter or buy the rest of the game. The purchase takes place in-game and there are five episodes.<br /><br />The first episode will release on September 29 and no prices have been revealed. The game is fully compatible with <em>Knothole Island</em> and <em>See the Future</em>. We'll keep working on getting more information.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Microsoft has clarified that this is not an extension of <em>Fable II</em>, but rather the retail game broken up into serialized chapters formally titled <em>Fable II: Game Episodes</em>. Xbox Live users will be able to download the initial episode, which serves as a "shell" for the rest of the game, on September 29. <br /><br />The original game disc is not required to play, and those who grab part one will have the option to purchase subsequent pieces or the entirety of <em>Fable II </em>(think of it like an XBLA trial). If you've downloaded any of the game episodes and decide to spring for the retail disc, your saves will carry over. No per-episode pricing has been announced but we're chasing more details.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/19/fable-ii-episodic-adventures-revealed-starts-sept-29/">Fable II 'Episodic' revealed, pay-as-you-play starts Sept. 29 [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Aug 2009 04:35:00 EST. The listing appears on both <a href="http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/4-/11404639/Fable-II-Game-Of-The-Year-Edition/Product.html">Play.com</a> and ShopTo.net, and mentions exactly the kind of goodies you'd expect in a GOTY package. With a suggested retail price of &pound;39.99 (~$65), the package includes both the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/14/joystiq-review-fable-2s-knothole-island-dlc/">Knothole Island</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joystiq-review-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/">See the Future</a> DLC, which normally cost 800<span class="album_title"><img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> </span> ($10) and 560<span class="album_title"><img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> </span> ($7), respectively. So, essentially, the package offers the original game and both pieces of DLC for standard retail price. Not a bad deal for those that have yet to set a next-gen foot in the world of Albion.<br />
<br />
This might be what the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/lionhead-studios-website-overthrown-by-che-guevara/">"revolutionary" countdown</a> on Lionhead.com is all about -- though that seems unlikely. Either way, as the countdown isn't set to expire for another two days, we've asked both Microsoft and Lionhead to confirm if the listing is real, and also to clarify any plans for a North American release. We'll update this post with any new information.<br />

<strong><span style="float: right; margin-bottom: 16px; margin-left: 4px;"><script> digg_url = 'http://digg.com/xbox/Lionhead_Studios_website_overthrown_by_Che_Guevara'; </script><script src="http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js"></script></span>Update:</strong> It would appear as though <a href="http://www.lionhead.com/">Lionhead Studios' website</a> has been overthrown by not one revolutionary but a series of them, as the site has updated today with a numeral five (countdown!) and an image of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilien_Robespierre">Maximilien Robespierre</a>. Oh, you don't know who he is? He's one of those <em>copycat</em> French revolutionaries. A famous one, we promise. Now we're just hoping that at the end of the countdown, Lionhead doesn't overthrow the Internet.<br /><br />Don't you just hate it when your website gets overthrown by a long-dead South American revolutionary? Happens all the time! Well, okay, we're embellishing a bit, but it seems as though that's happened to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> developer <a href="http://www.lionhead.com">Lionhead Studios' website</a>. As you can see in the image above, Che Guevara's questioning gaze posits, "At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love," accompanied by a massive six. <br /><br />Sure, that could be six years or six celestial bodies orbiting around Lionhead prez Peter Molyneux's head at any given time, but we're thinking it pertains to a "special announcement" at next week's Euro convention, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamescom">Gamescom</a>, by the (in)famous developer. The email from Microsoft says, "Peter Molyneux, visionary developer and Creative Director of MGS Europe, will make a special announcement, so be sure to join us for this reveal." In the meantime, we'll be busily clicking between the thumbs up or down choice below Che's silhouette, watching as the sidebars change. <br /><br />It's called moral choice, folks. It's kind of popular.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/lionhead-studios-website-overthrown-by-che-guevara/">Lionhead Studios website overthrown by Che Guevara [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 10:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/features/575/Heard-About-Fable-II">Develop</a> has posted an interesting feature about the creation of the soundtrack to <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/features/575/Heard-About-Fable-II"><em>Fable II</em></a>. The article tells the story behind the score through the words of its composer, Russell Shaw. Shaw says that he wanted the music "to convey the world of Albion but also enhance the story," noting that each region has its own particular sound. The music of Bowerstone, according to Shaw, is based on the keywords "Celtic, Scottish, folk and gentle," for example. Shaw also discusses the combat music, which flows and changes based on the size of the fight and on the actions taken by the player.<br /><br />On the state of music in the game industry, Shaw says, "This is a brilliant time to be in game music," noting that the barriers between game and movie composers have "pretty much eroded completely." If you've ever found yourself humming a <span style="font-style: italic;">Fable II</span> tune -- if you've played the game, you probably have -- you should definitely give the article a read.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/07/the-origin-of-fable-iis-soundtrack/">The origin of Fable II's soundtrack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Aug 2009 16:15:00 EST. OK, so, as you'd know if you <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joystiq-review-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/">read our review</a>, there's not a whole lot of future seeing to be done here. But, nomenclature issues aside, there <em>are</em> some beefy new <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> missions in the "See the Future" DLC which, just a reminder, is now available on Xbox Live. <br /><br />If you're unwilling to part with the 560 MS Points ($7), there's still a chance you could <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joyswag-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/">win a free copy</a>. But, as we're talking about Joystiq's 2008 Game of the Year, we think you owe it to Lionhead to <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d5307f1/">pony up the cash</a>. You can't really trust that Murgo guy. A trader by profession and a swindler by nature, Murgo returns to Bowerstone Market in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a>'s "See the Future" add-on to sell you some odds, some ends and a few more plot devices. Seemingly unaware of the true nature of his own wares, the smooth-talking salesman offers several cursed items to you, each with a very low cost of entry. It's <span style="font-style: italic;">getting out</span> that's tricky.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/">Fable II: See the Future</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/#2006999"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/bloodhound_1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/#2007000"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/bloodhound_2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/#2007008"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/husky_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/#2007009"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/husky_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/fable-ii-see-the-future/#2007004"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/05/dalmation_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joystiq-review-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Joystiq review: Fable 2: See the Future (DLC)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/11/joystiq-review-fable-2-see-the-future-dlc/">Joystiq review: Fable 2: See the Future (DLC)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 11 May 2009 09:00:00 EST. Bringing the game's grand total up to 1350 points, the full list of Achievements for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a>'s upcoming DLC, "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/see-the-future/">See the Future</a>," has been unveiled by the <a href="http://community.lionhead.com/blogs/fable_2_development/archive/2009/04/23/3330503.aspx">Lionhead Community blog</a>. Since it includes such classy Achievements as "The Paramour: Make love 25 times" and "The Nutcracker: Score 25 groin shots," we're quite certain those venturing back into Albion will find no shortage of buffoonery to engage in.<br /><br />We're still not quite certain what day in the next month the second add-on will arrive, but we do know it's fetching 560<img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" /> ($7). Considering we're rounding the end of April any minute now, though, we imagine <em>Fable 2</em> developer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/lionhead">Lionhead Studios</a> will see fit to announce a release date soon. Today, Microsoft revealed a new Xbox 360 Elite bundle headed to store shelves this May. The Xbox 360 Game of the Year bundle includes the little-known online shooter called <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo-3/">Halo 3</a></em> and Joystiq's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/">2008 game of the year</a> pick, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2/">Fable II</a></em>. The M-rated bundle is priced at $399, making the two million-plus unit selling pack-in titles free of charge.<br /><br />Those of you keeping score at home will remember rumors of an elite bundle, which was set to include the two Microsoft Game Studios powerhouse titles, had been floating around the web <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/rumor-400-xbox-360-elite-bundle-features-halo-3-and-fable-2/">earlier this month</a>. Microsoft, continuing a long history of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/sources-xbox-360-price-cut-week-of-sept-7-60gb-299-elite-3/"><em>totally</em> being able to keep a secret</a>, confirmed the bundle today via <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/04/20/announcing-the-xbox-360-game-of-the-year-bundle.aspx">Major Nelson's blog</a>.<br /><br /><em>Update:</em> Major Nelson has clarified this bundle will be available in all regions where Xbox 360 is sold, except those in Europe.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/20/shock-ms-reveals-new-xbox-elite-bundle-with-halo-3-fable-ii/">Shock! $400 will get you a lot these days. You can buy yourself any of the existing major consoles on the market, or you soon <em>might</em> be able to buy Microsoft's newer and more improved <a href="http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/04/exclusive-400-360-elite-bundle-with-halo-3-and-fable-2.ars">Elite console bundle</a>. Word is that Microsoft will be jam-packing its existing Elite bundles with copies of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a>, you know, <em>just for fun</em>. The best part is, the console won't be increasing in price. The bad news is that you're now furious if you already bought an Elite console.<br /><br />Ars Technica says that we'll have confirmation on this rumor by the end of next week, so that leaves us little time for the confirmation/debunking party. Who's on chips and dip duty?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/10/rumor-400-xbox-360-elite-bundle-features-halo-3-and-fable-2/">Rumor: $400 Xbox 360 Elite bundle features Halo 3 and Fable 2</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Apr 2009 14:35:00 EST. The <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fable-2">Fable 2</a></em> community site has posted a vertically enhanced collage of the many forms the RPG's (anti-)hero can take. It's quite impressive and, after looking through the list, we realize our once-generic avatar can take on more traits than we ever expected. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2">Fable II</a></em>'s canine companion was introduced as a means to connect gamers to the world of Albion, and although players could interact with the four-legged friend at the touch of a button, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Lionhead/">Lionhead</a> initially tested microphone interaction as well.<br /> <br /> In an interview with <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/03/31/fable-2-developers-tested-microphone-control-for-games-dog/">MTV Multiplayer</a>, Peter Molyneux said the team behind <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/01/joystiqs-top-10-of-2008-fable-2/">Joystiq's GOTY</a> tested voice commands in the game but ultimately found them to be too gimmicky. Had the feature been included in the game, players would be able to whistle into their headsets to call on their loyal pet -- a concept <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Peter-Molyneux/">Molyneux</a> didn't criticize, but felt wouldn't add to <em>Fable II</em>'s overall gameplay experience. Besides, wasn't including the dog <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2007/03/08/revolutionary-fable-2-feature-is-a-dog/">revolutionary enough</a> for you?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/31/fable-ii-tried-gimmicky-voice-controls/">Fable II tried 'gimmicky' voice controls</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 31 Mar 2009 19:15:00 EST. <div align="left">The answer? <em>A lot</em>.<br /><br />...Oh, you were hoping for something a bit more concrete? Well, as we just learned in a GDC session, the talky action-RPG included some 370,000 words, totaling 38 hours of speech. No, really, you can read it for yourself just above. And that, friends, is why <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable-2"><em>Fable 2</em></a> was our 2008 Game of the Year: All those words.</div>

Jamie Durrant has been working for Lionhead Studios, stomping ground of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/peter-molyneux">Peter Molyneux</a> and developer of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fable"><em>Fable</em></a> franchise, for 11 years. In his time, he's worked on the <em>Black &amp; White</em> series as well as both of the <em>Fable</em> games. As of last August though, Mr. Durrant has been out of work "sick" on half-pay, claiming sexual discrimination on the part of Microsoft. "I have been signed off sick since August with anxiety and depression," Durrant told us this morning. <br /><br />The Surrey, UK resident is suing his employer, Microsoft (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/06/microsofts-lionhead-acquisition-official/">owner of Lionhead Studios</a>), for &pound;45,000/$66,000, money which will make up for "lost earnings and injury to feelings," according to the report on <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/technology/microsoft/5042225/Xbox-designer-accuses-Microsoft-of-homophobia.html">Telegraph.co.uk</a>. A variety of names, laden with derogatory terms, were purportedly circulated in Durrant's tenure with the company as of late, referencing his sexual orientation: "'I'm Jim and I'm Gay," "Me and My Favourite Men," and "Ladies Are Bad," among others. <br /><br />According to Durrant, when these abuses were reported to the Microsoft human resources department, the company did little to help him, apparently telling him they would circulate an email reminding employees of the company policy -- but they never followed through. When he inquired as to why it hadn't been sent a few weeks later, he was supposedly told that Microsoft would have to draft policy on the matter first. He told the Telegraph, "I was very surprised that Microsoft did not have any policies relating to this sexual orientation harassment." Less than a month ago we found out that the Microsoft Xbox Live team also have little-to-no policy written regarding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/26/consumerist-self-identified-lesbian-banned-from-xbox-live/">sexual orientation discrimination</a>.<br /><br />When asked for more information, both Microsoft and Mr. Durrant have said they cannot comment on the still pending litigation. We'll have to wait until the London South Employment Tribunal hears his case "later this year" for more info.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/24/lionhead-studios-graphic-designer-sues-microsoft-for-harassment/">Lionhead Studios graphic designer sues Microsoft for harassment</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 24 Mar 2009 21:20:00 EST. The developer with the buttery British voice tells <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/news/33566/Molyneux-We-destroyed-the-Fable-1-team">Develop</a> that the first <em>Fable</em> "just burnt people's lives" and "destroyed the team." He says the excessively long work hours ruined marriages, and that the studio just can't do that anymore.<br /><br />Molyneux is happy to report that <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fable-2">Fable II</a></em> wasn't such a demon -- well, not until the "very, very end," when it consumed weekends (which is pretty standard). He states that, for the most part, the studio was empty on Sundays. We'd ask how he knows that, but we feel the answer involves him sadly sitting alone in the office over the weekends. Poor, poor Peter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/17/molyneux-fable-destroyed-developers-lives-fable-ii-not-so-muc/">Molyneux: Fable destroyed developer lives, Fable II not so much</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 17 Mar 2009 19:00:00 EST. Before Peter Molyneux and Co. captured our GOTY hearts with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Fable-2">Fable II</a></em>, Lionhead introduced the world to Albion in <em>Fable</em> -- on the original Xbox. Next week -- billed as the <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/press/archive/2009/03/13/562938.aspx">figurative pot of gold</a> for St. Paddy's Day -- the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Xbox-Originals/">Xbox Originals</a> release of <em>Fable</em> will be discounted to 800<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($10) on March 16, down one third the standard (Read: Overpriced) tag of 1200<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" />.<br /> <br /> March 23's Deal of the Week isn't nearly exciting, discounting the<em> Iowa Mission Pack</em> for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Battlestations-Midway/">Battlestations Midway</a></em> by 20%. Finally, to put an Irish kiss on the end of the month, the Deal of the Week beginning March 30 will be the XBLA title <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Alien-Hominod">Alien </a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Alien-Hominid">Hominid</a></em><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Alien-Hominod"> HD</a></em>, discounted by 50% to 400<img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.xbox360fanboy.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" alt="" /> ($5). Those are some quality price drops... Irish I had some more MS Points.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/13/fable-alien-hominid-hd-get-slashed-for-march-deals-of-the-week/">Fable, Alien Hominid HD get slashed for March Deals of the Week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 13 Mar 2009 17:41:00 EST.
