In the west as in Japan, they'll be bundled together on PS3 on a disc, and sold separately on Vita.<br /><br />Both versions of <em>Final Fantasy X HD Remaster</em> and <em>Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster</em> are due for release in 2013. There will be a trailer on Monday. No, we don't know why Square didn't release the trailer today along with the news.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/">Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/#5755936"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/10454ff10hd01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/#5755937"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/10455ff10hd02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/#5755938"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/10456ff10hd03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/#5755939"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/10457ff10hd04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/final-fantasy-x-and-x-2-hd/#5755940"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/10458ff10hd07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/22/final-fantasy-x-and-x2-hd-remaster-coming-to-the-west-in-2013/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Final Fantasy X and X2 HD Remaster coming to the west in 2013</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/22/final-fantasy-x-and-x2-hd-remaster-coming-to-the-west-in-2013/">Final Fantasy X and X2 HD Remaster coming to the west in 2013</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Mar 2013 10:11:00 EST. Though each will supposedly be sold on a single PS3 disc, the latest issue of Japanese mag Shonen Jump says they'll be separately available on Vita.<br /><br />The remaster of <em>Final Fantasy X</em> was first announced back in late 2011, only for Square Enix to go silent for almost the next two years. The HD version resurfaced last month, when Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto gave us a brief glimpse at the game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/18/final-fantasy-x-remaster-resurfaces-announcement-coming-soon/">running on PS Vita</a>. Square Enix has said an announcement with further details regarding the <em>Final Fantasy X</em> remaster is coming "soon."<br /><br />[Thanks, Draco.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/19/rumor-final-fantasy-x-hd-includes-ffx-2-hd-ps-vita-versions-se/">Rumor: Final Fantasy X HD includes FFX-2 HD, PS Vita versions separate downloads</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Mar 2013 20:15:00 EST. After <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/square-enix-announces-final-fantasy-10-remake-for-ps-vita-and/">its announcement</a> nearly 18 months ago, we've heard very little about the spruced-up re-release, which is coming to both PS3 and Vita. However, in this morning's broadcast series producer Shinji Hashimoto assured fans the game is still in development, and that an announcement of further details in coming "soon."<br /><br />The broadcast offered some very brief first footage of the remaster, which only showcased characters Tidus, Yuna, and two of the aeons, all in their in-battle animations. As if to prove it all wasn't an elaborate ruse, Hashimoto then held up a Vita with the game running on it (see below the break), which you can see for yourself by watching a replay of the Sony broadcast <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/cp/2013spring_psvita/index.html">here</a> (head to the 32m30s mark for the <em>FFX</em> footage). <p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/18/final-fantasy-x-remaster-resurfaces-announcement-coming-soon/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Final Fantasy X remaster resurfaces, announcement coming 'soon'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/18/final-fantasy-x-remaster-resurfaces-announcement-coming-soon/">Final Fantasy X remaster resurfaces, announcement coming 'soon'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Feb 2013 09:30:00 EST. One such question directed at Hashimoto wondered if the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Vita re-rerelease of <em>Final Fantasy X</em> would be a "remake" (like the recent re-release of <em>Halo: Combat Evolved</em>) or a "remaster" (like last fall's <em>Ico/Shadow of the Colossus</em> collection).<br /><br />Hashimoto left little space for interpretation of his answer, directly stating it is a "remaster." He also pointed out that "the screen is much prettier than the original," though we're unable to corroborate that just yet as the game hasn't even been mentioned since <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/square-enix-announces-final-fantasy-10-remake-for-ps-vita-and/">its announcement last fall</a> at Tokyo Game Show 2011, let alone shown.<br /><br />We've followed up with Square's US reps to see when we might hear more about the upcoming Vita and PS3 remaster, but aren't holding our breath for new info.<br /><br />[Image credit: <a href="http://gnn.gamer.com.tw/8/62178.html">GNN.Gamer.tw</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/06/dont-call-it-a-remake-final-fantasy-x-is-a-remaster-to-be-c/">Don't call it a remake: Final Fantasy X is a 'remaster,' to be clear</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 06 Feb 2012 10:30:00 EST. The title says it all. As one of the few well-received bits of news during this morning's Sony TGS press conference, Square Enix announced that it will bring the PS2 hit, <em>Final Fantasy X</em>, to the Vita and its big brother in remastered form. Details on exactly what this means were scarce, but we imagine it'll look prettier and prettier-er on the Vita and PS3, respectively.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/14/square-enix-announces-final-fantasy-10-remake-for-ps-vita-and/">Square Enix announces Final Fantasy 10 remake for PS Vita - and PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Sep 2011 01:03:00 EST.
