For the uninitiated, <em>Fuel of War </em>is a team-based combat game on a grand scale, filled with multiple classes, vehicles, and weapons (you may want to check out Joystiq's hands-on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/07/joystiq-hands-on-frontlines-fuel-of-war-360-pc-ps3/">impressions</a> of the game from earlier this year). Sound like fun? Too bad, because <em>Fuel of War</em> won't be coming out until 2008. The reason? THQ didn't want to be part of the already full Holiday 2007 lineup. In other words, going up against monsters like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GTAIV/"><em>GTAIV</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo3/"><em>Halo 3</em></a> didn't sound like a good business decision. Probably a good call, really.<br /><br />Was anyone out there looking forward to <em>Frontlines: Fuel of War</em>?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/11/frontlines-fuel-of-war-pushed-to-2008/">Frontlines: Fuel of War pushed to 2008</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 May 2007 11:30:00 EST. And today's new screenshots come from one of those war games. Make the jump and check out the five new <a href="http://www.frontlineswar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=3652">screenshots</a> for upcoming Xbox 360 game <em>Frontlines: Fuel of War</em>. Yup, they sure are pretty, but are they pretty enough to grab your attention? With games like <em>CoD 3</em> and upcoming game <em>GRAW 2</em>, we question whether <em>Frontlines</em> can compete in the war genre.<br /><br />[Thanks, Bobbo]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/03/get-down-new-frontlines-fuel-of-war-screens/">Get down! Matches over Xbox Live will be limited to 32 players. The PC version, however, should support 64 players online. Too bad, though 32 is nothing to sneeze at.<br /><br />The latest issue of Game Informer has a spread on <em>Frontlines: Fuel of War</em>, developed by <a href="http://www.kaosstudios.com/">Kaos Studios</a>. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/04/24/fuel-of-war-is-about-war-for-fuel/">Announced</a> last April, <em>Frontlines: Fuel of War</em> is a military FPS featuring vehicular combat and advanced weaponry. The biggest tidbit of information, however, is revealed in the game's description. Should you walk by a copy of Game Informer in your local grocery store, flip to page 72 and focus your eyes directly under the title: "Up to 64-player via Xbox Live." You may be compelled to rub your eyes and unleash a hearty "whaa?" It's understandable. So there you go, from some of the same people that brought you <em>Battlefield 2</em> comes 64 player madness.<br /><br />Anyone looking forward to this now?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/19/frontlines-brings-64-person-multiplayer/">Frontlines brings 64 person multiplayer [update 1]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Jan 2007 12:05:00 EST.
