The massive catalog of adventure games from Activision - which once upon a time were known as the Sierra adventure games - is 50 percent off on <a href="http://www.gog.com/promo/activision_weekend_promo_310513">GOG</a> until Monday, June 3.<br />
<br />
The sale includes the Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, Zork, Space Quest, Police Quest, Gabriel Knight series and many, many more. They are all either $2.99 or $4.99. The entire portfolio can be yours for $121.<br />
<br />
Also, there's no shame in looking up the answer to the Rumpelstiltskin riddle in <em>King's Quest</em> when you get stuck. We've all done it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/31/activision-sierra-adventure-games-50-off-on-gog-this-weekend/">Activision (Sierra) adventure games 50% off on GOG this weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 May 2013 11:00:00 EST. GOG has added 10 more jams to its ever-growing list of OSX-compatible games, almost all of which have never been available on an Apple platform previously.<br />
<br />
Mac folk running OSX 10.6.8 or newer can now partake in <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/syndicate_wars"><em>Syndicate Wars</em></a>, <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/rise_of_the_triad__dark_war"><em>Rise of the Triad: Dark War</em></a>, <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/blake_stone_planet_strike"><em>Blade Stone: Planet Strike</em></a>, <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/strike_commander"><em>Strike Commander</em></a>, <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/slipstream_5000"><em>Slipstream 5000</em></a>, <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/darklands"><em>Darklands</em></a> and <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/litil_divil"><em>Litil Divil</em></a>. Anyone with OSX 10.7 or newer can also pick up <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/evil_genius"><em>Evil Genius</em></a>, the phenomenal <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/guilty_gear_x2_reload"><em>Guilty Gear X2 #Reload</em></a> and the experimental (for better or worse) <a href="http://www.gog.com/gamecard/guilty_gear_isuka"><em>Guilty Gear Isuka</em></a>. As is typically the case at GOG, most of these games also include bonus goodies, ranging from digital manuals, to wallpapers and complete soundtracks.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/11/gog-adds-10-games-for-osx-guilty-gear-rise-of-the-triad-and-mo/">GOG adds 10 games for OSX: Guilty Gear, Rise of the Triad and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 11 May 2013 19:30:00 EST. <br />
If you've decided 2013 just isn't your thing, and you'd rather be playing games of yore for the entire rest of the year, then <a href="http://www.gog.com/promo/ea_weekend_promo_030513">GOG.com</a> has you covered for no more than $68.52. That's how much the online retailer is selling a collective of 28 discounted EA classics, with the likes of the Ultima, Wing Commander, Populous and Dungeon Keeper series all at 60 percent off.<br />
<br />
Of course, you don't have to be disillusioned with the calendar year to take advantage of these deals, nor do you have to buy the whole lot. Each individual game is priced $2.39, and they include <em>Sim City 2000 Special Edition</em>, <em>Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri</em>, and Bullfrog's brilliant medical sim <em>Theme Hospital - </em>you still can't beat a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eb_sS2rEvE">Bullfrog intro video</a>.<br />
<br />
The offer ends at 9PM PT on Monday, May 6 (midnight ET).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/03/gog-lines-up-classic-ea-convoy-28-games-at-60-percent-off/">GOG lines up 'Classic EA Convoy,' 28 games at 60 percent off</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 03 May 2013 11:30:00 EST. PSN and PS Vita, Mac, iOS, Linux and Ouya ports are all in various stages of development and planning, Fish has said. In little over a year, <em>Fez</em> has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/13/fez-sold-200-000-copies-on-xbla-to-date/">sold more than 200,000 copies</a> on Xbox Live Arcade.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/22/psa-fez-dons-its-pre-order-cap-today-on-steam-gog/">PSA: Fez dons its pre-order cap today on Steam, GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 22 Apr 2013 14:00:00 EST. The digital distributor is rolling out ten classic D&amp;D-based PC RPGs, including <em>Planescape: Torment</em> and entries from Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, for just $21.10. The $10 pack includes the first five Larry jams, the oldest of which (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leisure_Suit_Larry_in_the_Land_of_the_Lounge_Lizards"><em>Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards</em></a>) comes in both Original and VGA flavors.<br /><br />The release of this collection marks the first time that Larry's adventures have swung both ways, by which we mean "been both PC and Mac OSX compatible," <em>obviously</em>. The collection also includes the 1981 text-based DOS/Apple II game <em>Softporn Adventure</em>, which despite how it sounds, is mostly about navigating a bar and reading newspapers. Not that we've played it or anything.<br /><br />Since this collection's screenshots and trailer are borderline not safe for work, we've decided to err on the side of caution and refrain from hosting them on our family friendly internet blog-o-site. Clicking all up on the source link below will take you where you want to go, if you're into that sort of thing. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/19/leisure-suit-larry-greatest-hits-and-misses-collection-now-on/">Leisure Suit Larry 'Greatest Hits and Misses' collection now on GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 19 Jan 2013 18:00:00 EST. With rotating daily deals of up to 75% off and discounts up to 50% off on everything in GOG's catalogue, the platform is truly making a case for the season of giving to one's self.<br /><br />The sale lasts until January 3. Today's daily deals include <em>The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings</em> for $12 and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-longest-journey"><em>The Longest Journey</em></a> for $5, among other quality offerings. As for general standouts during the promotion, we'd have to say <em>Syndicate</em> for $3 is a nice deal, and so is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/27/legend-of-grimrock-review/"><em>Legend of Grimrock</em></a> for $3.74. Mac gamers aren't left out in the full-priced cold either, with deals on <em>SimCity 2000</em> for $3, <em>Fallout</em> for $5 and <em>Descent</em> and <em>Descent 2</em> for $5 to consider.<br /><br />For the full list of 475 games on sale during GOG's promotion, follow the source link below.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/14/gogs-holiday-sale-discounts-475-games-until-jan-3/">GOG's holiday sale discounts 475 games until Jan. 3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 14 Dec 2012 17:00:00 EST. The digital distribution service stated 431 games (out of 486 available on the service) have been "fixed, tested, and reported" to work on Windows 8.<br /><br />"Note that most of these have not had the master builds updated, so you shouldn't need to redownload the installer or anything," GOG's announcement noted. "Some of the titles, our build ninjas performed their usual magic on, and they'll work now in Windows 8 - and we're even adding Windows 7 support to a few. We'll also be adding more Windows 8 games as time goes by and we've got time to apply some fixes to more of the classic games in the catalog."<br /><br />We reached out to GOG for an official list of the 431 compatible games, but they told us it's easier to list the games that aren't Windows 8 compatible. We've dropped that list after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/26/gog-adds-windows-8-support-431-games-compatible/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GOG adds Windows 8 support, 431 games compatible</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/26/gog-adds-windows-8-support-431-games-compatible/">GOG adds Windows 8 support, 431 games compatible</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Nov 2012 16:30:00 EST. It's offering six of Telltales' episodes-bundled games at 80 percent off, while the site's entire Interplay catalog's going at half-price.<br /><br />The Telltale offer covers <em>Sam &amp; Max: Season</em> <i>One</i>, <i>Two</i>, and <i>Three</i>,<i> Wallace &amp; Gromit's Grand Adventures, Back to the Future: The Game, </i>and <em>Tales of Monkey Island. </em>Each game can be bought separately at 80 percent off, but for the record they total in at a measly $34.94. The offer's good until the clock strikes midnight ET on November 13.<br /><br />Whereas you've got an extra three days for the other offer, which slashes 50 percent off all 32 Interplay games in the site's catalog. They include Fallout <em>1</em>, <em>2</em>, and <em>Tactics</em>, both MDK games, and the once-controversial <em>Kingpin: Life of Crime. </em>Incidentally<em>, </em>hip hop superstars Cypress Hill supplied the soundtrack for <em>Kingpin</em>. For six bucks, fisticuffs enthusiasts receive the game, its soundtrack, 24 avatars and 41 pieces of related artwork.<br /><br />Since this is a straight port of the Windows version of the game from the late 90s, anyone plugging a PS3 or Xbox arcade stick into their USB port and hoping for built-in compatibility will be disappointed. Regardless, if PC is your fighting platform of choice and you, like many others, pine for the simpler days of the Alpha era, here you go.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/09/street-fighter-alpha-2-on-gog-for-6/">Street Fighter Alpha 2 on GOG for $6</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 09 Nov 2012 01:00:00 EST. Developer Black Forest Games has released the world-shifting platformer on PC through <a href="http://www.gog.com/news/release_giana_sisters_twisted_dreams">GOG</a>, <a href="http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-GSTD/giana-sisters-twisted-dreams">Gamersgate</a>, and <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/223220">Steam</a> - where it is only the <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight?appid=765&amp;browsesort=accepted&amp;browsefilter=accepted&amp;p=1">second Greenlight pick ever</a> to make it to release.<br /><br />Through October 30, all three retailers are offering 10 percent off the $14.99 purchase price, so there's an incentive to check it out soon even if you didn't already buy into it via Kickstarter.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/23/psa-giana-sisters-twisted-dreams-now-available-is-greenlights/">PSA: Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams now available, is Greenlight's second release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Oct 2012 12:30:00 EST. Any price entered will purchase the basic bundle of eight Interplay games, which includes <em>Conquest of the New World</em> and <em>Evolva</em>, among other things. Paying more than the average price ($11.50 as of press time) unlocks 12 more games, and dropping down $35.00 or more brings the bundle's total up to 32 games.<br /><br />The $35 bundle also includes 21 different soundtracks, 37 wallpapers, 410 pieces of artwork, a 205-page "Fallout Bible" and "much more." Right now GOG has 50 games available for Mac, 28 of which are only on GOG. Games include: <em>Syndicate</em>, the Ultima and Wing Commander franchises, <em>The Witcher 2</em> (all out for the first time on Mac today), <em>Machinarium, FTL, Syndicate, Sim City 2000, Dungeon Keeper, Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers</em> and <em>Crusader: No Remorse</em>. Find the complete list of Mac games on GOG <a href="http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue/?system=osx">here</a>.<br /><br />GOG is hosting a Mac sale today, which includes <em>The Witcher Enhanced Edition, Crusader: No Remorse, Theme Hospital, Little Big Adventure, Postal Classic and Uncut</em>, and <em>Simcity 2000</em> for half off.<br /><br />All GOG games are hybrid, meaning both Mac and PC versions come for one price: Buy it for PC, own it for Mac and vice versa. GOG hosts a native OS X downloader app as well. There are eight free games available for Mac users to test out the system, including <em>Beneath a Steel Sky</em>, <em>Tyrian 2000</em>, <em>Ultima 4</em> and <em>Warsaw</em>.<br /><br />Thanks for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/18/witcher-2-on-mac-via-steam-right-now-reports-say-gog-coming-too/">not making liars out of us</a>, GOG.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/18/gog-launches-mac-support-50-games-available-now/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GOG launches Mac support, 50 games available now</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/18/gog-launches-mac-support-50-games-available-now/">GOG launches Mac support, 50 games available now</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Oct 2012 14:35:00 EST. Not only is it selling new indies (and Witcher games), now the retailer has announced its first <a href="http://www.gog.com/divinity/">pay-what-you-want bundle</a>.<br /><br />The bundle, available until October 18, provides <em>Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity</em>, and <em>Divinity 2 Developer's Cut</em> for as much as you feel like paying. Provided it's at least $21 - early access to the Developer's Cut comes only at that level, and Beyond Divinity is similarly withheld for below-average payments.<br /><br />"This year Larian celebrates the 10th anniversary of our Divinity RPG series, and we're happy to partner up with GOG.com in order to put the whole collection at the mercy of our community," Larian CEO Swen Vincke said. "We've always been thankful for the unceasing support that our players have provided over the years and we'll gladly welcome any and all newcomers!"<br /><br />If you already love Divinity games and feel like paying a set price, Larian has also announced a <a href="http://www.divinityanthology.com/">Divinity Anthology box</a>, with the same games and lots of extras.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/10/pay-what-you-want-for-divinity-games-on-gog/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/10/pay-what-you-want-for-divinity-games-on-gog/">Pay what you want for Divinity games on GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Oct 2012 14:00:00 EST. Tomorrow a livestream press conference will reveal a new RPG with a futuristic setting, evidenced by Rayban Charles up there.<br /><br />He's some concept art that CD Projekt Red released to tease tomorrow's stream, which you can catch over on Facebook or at <a href="http://www.thewitcher.com">thewitcher.com</a>. And with the stream taking place over on the latter, that blip about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/witcher-rise-of-the-white-wolf-spotted-on-retail-sites-for-xbox/"><em>The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf</em></a> from earlier today seems like another candidate for an announcement tomorrow. The plot <em>thickens</em>.<br /><br />The livestream takes place tomorrow at 1pm ET. To see the rest of Rayban's centerfold, you'll need to grab the hoverboard and cruise past the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/cd-projekt-red-teases-futuristic-rpg-for-tomorrows-livestream/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>CD Projekt Red teases futuristic RPG for tomorrow's livestream</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/29/cd-projekt-red-teases-futuristic-rpg-for-tomorrows-livestream/">CD Projekt Red teases futuristic RPG for tomorrow's livestream</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 29 May 2012 22:30:00 EST. Okay, we may have made that last one up.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/12/alan-wake-games-1c-classics-on-sale-this-weekend-on-gog/">Alan Wake games, 1C classics on sale this weekend on GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 12 May 2012 02:00:00 EST. Since you're on the internet, you may be doing that already, so feel free to stand up and subsequently sit down again. Ready? Good. It's been a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/22/activision-wont-publish-sierra-legacy-titles/">long</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/07/23/space-quest-and-kings-quest-collections-join-steam-with-other/">long</a> road, but Sierra's classic Quest for Glory series is finally <a href="http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/quest_for_glory">available on Good Old Games</a>.<br /><br />You can snag all five Quest for Glory games in a single package for just ten bucks. Best of all, the pack seems to be based on the CD-ROM collection, meaning you'll get both the original and VGA enhanced versions of <em>Quest for Glory 1, </em>and the sweet, velvety voice of John Rhys-Davies all up in your <em>Quest for Glory 4</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/10/entire-quest-for-glory-series-now-available-on-gog/">Entire Quest for Glory series now available on GOG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 May 2012 21:00:00 EST. The only means of escape lies in unrestrained pickpocketing, merciless guard-clubbing and at least one jaunt through a place so scary, you'll Alt-Tab out of the game and look for reprieve on Reddit.<br /><br />Oh, and two more: You may now possess Ubisoft's, Tom Clancy's, Clint Hocking's <em><a href="http://www.gog.com/news/release_tom_clancys_splinter_cell">Splinter Cell</a>;</em> and <a href="http://www.gog.com/news/release_anomaly_warzone_earth"><em>Anomaly: Warzone Earth</em></a>, the reverse tower defense game that was most recently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/04/10/anomaly-warzone-earth-review/">ported to Xbox Live Arcade</a>.<br /><br />All three games are available for $9.99 each.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/04/gog-com-nabs-thief-deadly-shadows-splinter-cell-and-anomaly-w/">GOG.com nabs Thief: Deadly Shadows, Splinter Cell and Anomaly: Warzone Earth</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 04 May 2012 03:45:00 EST.
