For die-hard fans of Ubisoft's major franchises, the company offers a new way to own physical totems of those fandoms. It just launched a line of exclusive "UbiCollectibles" available exclusively through its online shop (and, at the moment, exclusively in Europe).

For those of us outside of Europe who get redirected out of that region's online shop, Ubiworkshop posted images of two of the first offerings: an Assassin's Creed Brotherhood "Ezio's Fury" statue, limited to 2,000 units, that depicts Ezio furiously skipping on some broken columns, and a statue of Might & Magic Heroes VI's Archangel Michael, limited to 500. The shop will also sell Ghost Recon "Production Team" t-shirts, as seen on ... the Ghost Recon production team at E3.

Gallery: Ubicollectibles

'UbiCollectibles' shop offers exclusive Assassin's Creed, Might & Magic swag originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 01 Jul 2011 16:00:00 EST. If you're looking to spend your long weekend in a quiet, relaxing way, you could do worse than to check out NightSky, the meditative rolling-ball platformer by Knytt creator Nifflas. And now's a good day for it, because Steam has reduced the price to five bucks through 1PM tomorrow.

If you're in the mood for less tranquility and more Tom Clancity, the ongoing Ubisoft sale continues today, with 66% discounts on pretty much every Tom Clancy game ever, including various Splinter Cells, Ghost Recons, Rainbow Sixes, and HAWX ... es.
Steam discounts NightSky, Tom Clancy games originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 29 May 2011 22:30:00 EST. Perhaps all that "playing" of your favorite Ubisoft games was getting tiresome? The French game publisher's film arm, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, told Variety this week that it's working to adapt three of Ubisoft's biggest properties -- Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon -- into "3D features," confirming speculative plans that appeared in a consumer survey last month. UMP head Jean-Julien Baronnet explained that his division "has been working with the games' producers and Ubisoft's marketing team to identify the DNA of each game and come up with storylines that are consistent." He also noted that the group's plans have garnered plenty of interest "from US studios and screenwriters."

Further, senior VP of international marketing and distribution Jean de Rivieres promises a script for at least one of the projects "by the end of the year." He and two other UMP execs will be taking a trip to Los Angeles next month in order to broker deals with studios and agents, Rivieres added.

In addition to the trio of feature projects, the studio is reportedly developing a 3D, CGI animated series based on the Rabbids property and named after the Raving Rabbids game series. It's said to comprise 78 episodes, at seven minutes apiece, and negotiations are apparently underway to distribute the series in France and the US.
Have you ever noticed how firearms in Red Storm's Ghost Recon games don't look and sound like tiny little baby cap guns? There's a reason for that -- the team has its own "authenticity program," which is the subject of this recent University of North Carolina news report.
Continue reading Ghost Recon dev's 'authenticity program' explained

Ghost Recon dev's 'authenticity program' explained originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 01 Apr 2011 05:00:00 EST. While they are responsible for monitoring and apprehending malicious spirits that threaten the United States, the Ghost Recon soldiers are frequently tasked with shooting a bunch of bad guys in politically unstable circumstances. You'll be able to accompany them to Sri Lanka in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator for PSP, and to Norway and Moscow in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: No Subtitle for Wii. According to Ubisoft, both games are due this November.

Both promise a "true Ghost Recon experience," which implies technologically advanced weaponry, squad-based combat and probably a suitcase that is also a bomb. Ghost Recon Predator (that's the PSP game) will offer customizable squad mates and three-player ad-hoc multiplayer, while the more action-oriented Wii title promises two-player co-op with drop-in play (Ubisoft describes it more interestingly as "Co-op Hot Join").

The Wii's Ghost Recon seems to be quite a departure from other Tom Clancy games, though Ubisoft stresses that you'll still get "high intensity combat, tactical infiltration and WOW moments." That's probably referring to the exclamation, not the loot spilling out of a terrorist's dead body.
If you like playing games for money, but don't like Ghost Recon, there's good news for you too: Ubisoft North America president Laurent Detoc said, "We have an exciting lineup of multiplayer titles this year that we believe will be a perfect fit for gamers to play and compete against each other in a tournament setting." This is how it all starts, folks. In today's Ubisoft investor's briefing, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has been pushed from its initial Holiday 2010 launch window. "Due to a very competitive environment, we decided to move the game out of the Christmas quarter, and into the March quarter," Guillemot explained. "It will also provide additional time to our development teams to realize their vision," he added.

We don't know about you guys, but we're flashing back to last year, when every release in November and December was pushed back a few months for those very reasons. If you're hoping to check out Future Soldier in the foreseeable future, you better make your way to E3 2010, where the game will be showcased to the public for the very first time.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier delayed into 'March quarter' 2011 originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 18 May 2010 13:20:00 EST. In a recent interview with Dutch gaming news site Control Online (that is to say, the site itself is Dutch -- it doesn't exclusively cover the booming Dutch video game industry), Ubisoft's Tom Clancy brand manager Michel Verheijdt explained "at this moment I'm working on two Tom Clancy games which have just gone in development." He remained tight lipped about the identities of the two franchises, warning that if he exposes any more info, he'll "have to send Sam Fisher after you."

Fortunately, Joystiq was able to get the scoop on these two games, and you'll never believe what they are. For the first time in ... hold on a second. Someone's at the door. Hello? Who are you, and -- hey, why are you grabbing our neck? This doesn't seem very safe, begoggled, gruff-voiced stranger.

By now you've likely seen the impressive live-action teaser trailer through which Ubisoft announced its latest Ghost Recon title, Future Soldier. If you haven't, well, have a look before reading any further. It's important since, last week at Ubisoft's offices, I saw the actual game in action -- and just about everything from that trailer is an actual gameplay mechanic. And then some.

I got a look at the makings of a future soldier and how their abilities -- gear, weapons and additional battlefield hardware -- will evolve the series, plus how Ubisoft and Red Storm just might have come up with a way for teams to play more like, well, teams in online matches.
First it brought us Assassin's Creed: Lineage, now we have a live-action trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The trailer, directed by Ben Mor, pretty much has anything you could want. Rather than spoil the action, we'll just give a brief rundown of some of the things included:

Minigun-packing robot drones

Personal cloaking devices

Explosions

Shoulder mounted anti-tank missiles

Yeah, you should probably watch it right now. And don't forget a full short film is still slated to be released later this year.
Ghost Recon live-action trailer has cloaking devices, explosions originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 26 Mar 2010 11:30:00 EST.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ubisoft will release a short film ahead of the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The film will be helmed by Francois Alaux and Herve de Crecy, the duo that just won an Academy Award for their short film Logorama. We're assuming the Ghost Recon film won't be quite as cheeky. The short, which will serve as a prequel to Future Soldier, will be a 20-minute live-action film, reportedly with a budget between $8-10 million. It's being written by Tim Sexton, co-writer of Children of Men.

The project is in line with Ubisoft's ongoing strategy to expand its scope of media to include more than just video games. Last year, the company released the Assassin's Creed: Lineage short film series to promote Assassin's Creed II. Later in the year, Ubisoft Montreal's Yannis Mallat envisioned a future where Ubisoft crafts films and games using the same assets, which is precisely what it did with Lineage. Given the talent and financial backing behind the Future Soldier film, it looks like Mallat's future could be a bright one.
The previously Xbox Live-exclusive Ghost Recon: Future Soldier trailer has found its way onto the YouTubes. As expected, it's a lot of CG and absolutely no gameplay -- with a final title screen promising release in "Fall 2010." One item in the teaser, however, did manage to excite us: Invisibility. It looks like every future soldier gets one of those special Harry Potter blankets. Neat!

Head past the break for the teaser.
Continue reading Get a taste of the future: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier teaser

Get a taste of the future: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier teaser originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 18:30:00 EST. Ubisoft's current focus to iterate its "major franchises" seems to expose its key brands to franchise fatigue and, with it, dwindling sales -- just look what happened to sales of Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk when Activision implemented a similar strategy. However, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot remains unconcerned about so-called franchise fatigue, as he emphasized today that the publisher's goal is to "increase and come out more often" with games.

Speaking during a financial earnings call for investors, Guillemot expressed his belief that Ubisoft has taken plenty of time to develop the next installments in the Driver, Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell franchises -- development time that will ultimately result in more iterations in less time, in turn improving brand visibility and training consumers to expect these franchises more often, and plan their gaming budgets accordingly. He also pointed out that sales of these upcoming titles should boost sales of their franchises' legacy games.

Of course, with that said, Guillemot re-emphasized that quality is still important and that the company has invested (and continues to invest) in building game engines and tools that can be used for the next 10 years. The CEO noted that Ubisoft development teams our given enough time to ensure very high quality work, adding that Ubisoft "takes those elements into consideration."
Ubisoft's Guillemot not trippin' about franchise fatigue originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 17:35:00 EST. Among the handful of Ubiscoops about 2010's releases coming out of today's investor call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot brought up the tactical Tom Clancy franchise Ghost Recon. Beyond the already revealed platforms for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Guillemot detailed the franchise's further ubiquity, saying the next Ghost Recon game will "be on all platforms: 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, [and] DS." He noted that the Wii version of Ghost Recon will "be done by a different team" with a "different approach ... created for that Wii population." Presumably, the game will involve standing on the balance board to approximate a sniper's breathing -- and it'll also be made up entirely of mini-games. Whoa, whoa -- calm down there killer. We're just joshin' ya!

He also confirmed something we've been mentioning for months now: "There will be more competition in the first eight months than in the last four." Get your calculators and spreadsheets out, folks -- early 2010 is gonna be a bruiser like we've never seen before (on our bank accounts, that is).
Ghost Recon also headed to Wii, PSP, and DS; Wii version developed by a different team originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 14:00:00 EST. Or, it'll be a Holiday 2010 present, depending on how heavily you drop those hints and how desirable you find Ghost Recon: Future Soldier's "cutting-edge technology, prototype high-tech weaponry, and state-of-the-art single-player and multiplayer modes." Developed by the GRAW veterans at Ubisoft Paris, Future Soldier promises to "go beyond the core Ghost Recon franchise and deliver a fresh gameplay experience, with an unparalleled level of quality that will excite long-time fans and newcomers alike." Yes, this is definitely from a press release.

A multiplayer beta is scheduled to start in Summer 2010, with invitations tied to another of Ubisoft's freshened franchises, Splinter Cell: Conviction (which is but a stone's throw away from release). The offer is currently extended only to the Xbox 360 version of Conviction -- and aside from Microsoft's system, no platforms have been explicitly mentioned in Future Soldier's announcement. He's from the future, so Facebook is a likely candidate.

Update: According to one of Ubisoft's Twitter accounts, the "same experience, same development team and same release date" will be coming to PlayStation 3. Ubisoft's Kimi Matsuzaki also noted that PC details would come "later."
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier to be present Holiday 2010 originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 09 Feb 2010 06:50:00 EST. Since Ubisoft formally announced Ghost Recon 4 back in April, news on the game -- or anything Ghost Recon-related, for that matter -- has been pretty scant. If a trademark discovered by Superannuation recently is any indication of where the series is going, however, then it seems "the Ghosts" are going into the future. Just this week, Ubisoft trademarked "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier" with the usual "game software and electronic game programs" descriptor for video game trademarks.

In fairness, the Ghost Recon games have always been set a bit into the future, with Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 taking place in the not-so-distant 2014. Will the French game publisher take the next step and bring the series into the somewhat-more-distant future? 2015, perhaps? We've heard that, by then, you won't need roads. Think of that!
Ubisoft's tentatively titled Ghost Recon 4 may just be "Ghost Recon: Predator" -- that is, if this OFLC classification is any indication. The classification itself is pretty barren, save for the title of the game, the fact that it's multiplatform and it's rated MA 15+. Still, given the title, it's a pretty safe bet that this will be a Ghost Recon game more in line with the roots of the series and not another Advanced Warfighter -- mostly because it doesn't have "Advanced Warfighter" in the title.

Hopefully, Ubisoft will confirm sooner rather than later. We definitely encourage the company to do so, especially if it still hopes to get the game on shelves by March 2010.
Grab your night-vision goggles and strap on your Kevlar, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Splinter Cell: Double Agent have been added to Xbox Live's Games on Demand service. While GRAW is available in nearly all Xbox Live regions, Splinter Cell: Double Agent is only available to (most) European Xbox Live users. Prices vary by region, but we're confident in saying that no matter where you live, the asking price is probably too high for games that launched in 2006.
GRAW and Splinter Cell: Double Agent infiltrate Games on Demand originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 03 Sep 2009 10:39:00 EST. Ubisoft announced today that it's working on a new Ghost Recon, currently titled Ghost Recon 4. Some of our more observant readers likely remember this game coming up in a previous Ubisoft financial report. Sadly, it's still a ways off, with Ubisoft crossing its fingers for a release sometime before April 2010. Doubly sad is the lack of more information at this time, so we don't know if this "flagship title" is more in line with the original Ghost Recon games, or the more recent Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series. We'll keep you posted!

Source - Ubisoft's full year 2008-2009 sales (Warning: PDF link)
Ubisoft announces 'Ghost Recon 4' originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 29 Apr 2009 14:15:00 EST. The fine purveyors of DRM-free classics at GoG.com have announced an agreement with Ubisoft, which sees good old(ish) games like Beyond Good & Evil and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time added to the downloadable lineup. Joining action journalist Jade and the time-swindling prince are ... the aeroplanes of IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946! We guess they weren't really going for much of a theme outside of all three costing $9.99 each.

Other Ubisoft titles slated to hit the PC service "in the coming weeks" include Heroes of Might and Magic, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Not Tom Clancy's Far Cry.
Beyond Good & Evil, PoP: Sands of Time added to GOG's lineup originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 26 Mar 2009 21:25:00 EST. Sony is bulking up its Greatest Hits collection for the PSP, dropping the price on 10 select titles starting April 5. Available for the lowered price of $19.99, the majority of the new batch of Greatest Hits games are third party, though there are still some delicious first-party nuggets included, such as Chains of Olympus. Here's your next wave of Greatest Hits:
In a recently released Ubisoft sales report, the company revealed its plans for its upcoming fiscal year 2009, which begins in April and ends in March 2010. Seven franchises are to be launched, including the sequel to Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell Conviction, Anno and a new entry in the Ghost Recon series. Four licensed games are in the works, including James Cameron's Avatar. Finally, the company expects to launch three new brands and expand its casual games library.

Of the seven franchise titles, only the four above are explicitly named, leaving the rest a mystery. We're going to hope, along with Joystiq, that one of those is Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Ubisoft: Assassins Creed 2, new Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon by March 2010 originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 16:00:00 EST. Ubisoft's third quarter earnings report has finally officially confirmed that the sequel to 2007's best selling assassinate-em-up, Assassin's Creed, will be available before the end of March 2010. While technically impressive, Assassin's Creed was a bit lacking in the gameplay department, we felt. A great proof-of-concept, but without enough fresh content to keep from getting stale after a while. Something we're hoping to see improved in the sequel. Ready for another year of seeing Jade Raymond wherever you turn?

The report also mentions that there will be seven franchise titles being released during the fiscal year starting this April, including Splinter Cell Conviction (which we can assume is still 360 exclusive), Ghost Recon and, as we've already mentioned, Assassin's Creed 2. There will also be three new IPs, including I Am Alive. No other games in these categories were mentioned, so no doubt Ubisoft has a few more surprises up its sleeve.
Assassin's Creed 2 officially confirmed, with us by March 2010 originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 15:00:00 EST. Straight out of Ubisoft's Q308 earnings call comes news that Assassin's Creed 2 - the not-so-secret sequel to the 6 million plus selling megahit - will be silently leaping onto consoles "by March 2010" according to <strike>the Twitter feed of gaming gournalist Geoff Keighley</strike> Ubisoft's third quarter earnings report.

Ubi's forecasting for its 2009 fiscal year - running from April 2009 through March 2010 - takes "into account ... 7 franchise titles" including Assassin's Creed 2, the mysterious (still Xbox exclusive?) Splinter Cell Conviction, and Ghost Recon. Some quick finger-based math tells us that leaves four unannounced "franchise titles." Beyond Good and Evil 2, maybe? <strike>Red Steel 2, perhaps?</strike> Throw us a bone here!

Update: Ubi's CEO Yves Guillemot "mentioned a game that [he] wasn't supposed to mention" during today's conference call. Sources close to CVG have said that Ubisoft is poised to announce new installments of its popular Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchises later this year. According to the source Ubisoft, which released Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in March 2008 and has had Ghost Recon on the shelf since mid 2007, could have both titles ready for the 2009 holiday rush. Unfortunately details for either title are scarce but the general school of thought is both franchises would see a reboot away from current story lines and settings. So, the rumor is Ubi is hitting up new a Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six? In other news the sky is blue and the sun is hot.
Rumor: Ubi readies new Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 07 Jan 2009 15:45:00 EST. Tom Clancy might be this generation's Nostradamus. What's this? More rumors about another Halo? The latest Gamespot Rumor Control has a source that claims the next Halo title will be tactical, "a cross between Ghost Recon and Gears of War" and will be announced sometime this year (maybe tomorrow?). According to the source, the "darker, grittier" iteration is more akin to Neil Blomkamp's shorts. Oh yeah, and that Master Chief guy is nowhere to be found.

In terms of gameplay, you can reportedly play as an entire squad (huh?) in the entire campaign, and there will be online co-op. The mention of Ghost Recon is particularly interesting, as a former creative director from G.R.A.W. developer Red Storm joined Bungie in August 2007. Gamespot seems confident with their source, and that would make for quite a big E3 announcement.
Rumor: Next Halo is 'darker, grittier,' tactical and without Master Chief originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 13 Jul 2008 23:30:00 EST. Stay tuned until we get a confirmation on what exactly is happening.

Update 2: The timer now states the countdown will end at 5:50PM EST.

Update: Apparently the decrypter on the Ghost Recon site went on a lunch break. The new countdown, set to expire at 1:50PM, has just added an additional 2 hours. The new countdown now ends at 3:50PM EST.

Last week we reported an interesting development occurring across all of Ubisoft's Tom Clancy branded websites. First, a flash overlay of a smoking dossier (or black box) appeared over the official Ghost Recon website that provided users with no functions or information. The next morning a menu appeared allowing site visitors to click into an alternate reality game called MACSAT7 Recovery which expanded the flash window and revealed five audio and video files in the early stages of decoding. Soon reports flew in that other overlays, with what appeared to be wreckage from a downed helicopter, began appearing on the official sites for Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and the upcoming End War that all pointed to the original Ghost Recon site.

After carefully conducting mathematics we realized that each of the five files were counting down to the date and time they would be decrypted, and thus available to analyze for information, but we also noticed an overall timer that was counting down to around noon on April 2. Moments ago the ARG came to an end and we were surprised to see a new countdown has emerged for <strike>1:50PM</strike> 3:50PM EST.

Could this be the rumored Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3, which is said to end the trilogy's stay in Mexico, or the highly expected Firehawk? Only time will tell.

One of our eagle-eyed readers tipped us off to an interesting development on the official Ghost Recon site. Users are treated to a large smoking file flash overlay when the site is loaded up. It appears that some information still marks the burning folder but as it stands the entire thing is a mystery. With the recent release of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, the ownership agreement with Tom Clancy and the continued domination of Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Xbox Live (proving gamers want more than just Halo 3) is it possible this new smoking file could contain a gun? A gun called Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 3?

This new Legacy Edition will feature all of the previously released GRAW2 downloadable content adding an additional 32 multiplayer maps, new game modes and new weapons to the classic (see: older) GRAW2 experience. Ubi didn't mention anything about pricing for the Legacy Edition, so one should expect it to fall in line with pricing for new releases. That said, is there really a point to releasing this Legacy Edition seeing that most of the die hard military shooter fanboys already moved on from GRAW2 to the oh so popular CoD4? Update: The GRAW 2 Co-Op Collection 2 downloadable content is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace for 400MS Points weighing in at 976MB.

Original Story: Time for your confusing story of the day kids. Today, Ubisoft's London office sent out a media alert letting the press know that the second anticipated GRAW 2 Co-op Collection pack has been released onto Xbox LIVE for 400 MS Points.

The only thing is, it hasn't. Scouring Xbox Live Markeplace, at the time of this article, there is no sign of any downloadable co-op pack for the Tom Clancy-based hit -- other than the original co-op collection package. Loyal X3F Army soldiers will remember this isn't the first time Ubisoft's UK office jumped the gun on a GRAW 2 announcement.

It looks like the release was premature, but it does answer some of the questions we had regarding the latest DLC for the critically acclaimed title. After releasing the first co-op collection for the hefty asking price of 800MS Points, Ubisoft throws out the latest expansion installment for half-price but doesn't skimp on the content. Adding five co-op missions that continue the story of the original DLC, 9 adversarial maps -- 7 remade from other games in the series and 2 new creations, and 8 brand new achievements to pad your gamerscore.

We're waiting anxiously in the wings for Ubisoft to remind us that the shooter-war isn't just a two pony race. As soon as we learn the content has hit LIVE we'll let you know.
GRAW 2 co-op pack numero dos hits LIVE, doesn't [Update] originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 04 Mar 2008 14:30:00 EST.
Just like the Co-op Collection before it, this second set of DLC will feature five new missions (Bridges, Stronghold, Depot, Riverbed and Ghost Town), nine new adversarial maps (Bridges, Stronghold, Depot, Riverbed, Ghost Town, Roadblock, Island, Treatment Plant and Mining Camp) as well as eight additional achievements worth 125 Gamerscore. TeamXbox posted a pretty solid video preview of the Co-op Collection 2 which also tells us that the DLC can be downloaded right now off the XBLM. But after doing a quick XBLM look, no Co-op Collection 2 could be found. So, we'll just say release date and pricing are "pending".
GRAW2 Co-op Collection 2 gets fully revealed originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 03 Mar 2008 15:15:00 EST. Funny thing about that is can't unlock them yet.

The list of eight new achievements come straight from the bowels of Xbox.com and correspond to various GRAW2 co-op mission completions as well as killing tasks on any "GRAW 2: CC map". But know that these achievements are not the same ones released with last year's GRAW2 Co-Op Collection DLC, these are freshly new and totally unannounced co-op missions. So, that means only one thing to us: more DLC. We expect these new achievements to correspond to another round of paid (or free) GRAW2 DLC that will be making its way to the XBLM soon'ish. You are on alert.

Still playing that Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 game? Do you feel like you need something new? Maybe you saw the fancy, newfangled Co-op Collection content pack that was released yesterday, and maybe you found yourself wondering if it was worth 800 MS Points. You thought to yourself, "that's a lot of scratch," perhaps. Well, as usual, we're here to help. Ubisoft released a little teaser video that shows off all the levels available in the new content pack. The co-op campaign is comprised of 5 missions from previous Ghost Recon titles (3 from Ghost Recon, 2 from Ghost Recon: Island Thunder). The pack also includes four new adversarial maps, two of which are remakes of old favorites (Castle and Prison). Check out the video and see if it's worth opening your wallet.
Video: GRAW 2 co-op DLC originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 30 Jan 2008 13:00:00 EST. It appears that Ubisoft's going to be ringing in Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday shopping season with a cornucopia (pilgrims FTW!) of content for tactical shooter Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Sometime in late November, fans will be able to add five new missions that continue the story line and nine new multiplayer maps, seven of which are rehashed from old Ghost Recon games. Oh, and those who get the pack through Xbox Live will also have 125 more Gamerscore points available.

The one big question that we don't have an answer for yet is price. But Ubisoft is supposed to put some new details out today, so we'll likely soon know if this Thanksgiving treat is the equivalent of delicious pumpkin pie or ... Jello salad.
Big GRAW 2 pack coming next month originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 17 Oct 2007 10:58:00 EST. The GRAW 2 Co-Op Collection expansion includes five new campaign missions and nine new multiplayer maps while adding an additional 125 Gamerscore to the mix with nine achievements. Complete details on all the new campaign missions, maps and achievements can be viewed over at IGN, but after giving the expansion content a look over we still have one question on our mind. We wonder if the Co-Op Collection is going to be enough to draw us away from our current FPS gaming rotation and bring us back to GRAW 2.
GRAW 2 getting Co-Op Collection expansion originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 17 Oct 2007 10:15:00 EST. If you haven't loaded up Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 in a while, we think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you dig the disc out. Last week, the first "Throwback Pack" (originally 800 points in May) went free on the Marketplace. Today, there's a brand new throwback pack, the appropriately titled "Throwback Pack 2", that's absolutely free.

The main draws here are seven levels that have been remastered from previous Ghost Recon games. But you'll also find a new mode to play around with, Co-op Exfiltration. Wow, from $15 for eight re-lit maps and 4 co-op missions to seven missions for free -- what a difference a year makes.
GRAW 2 gets free content pack originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 28 Aug 2007 09:30:00 EST.
