Sony is still putting out new UMD dual packs for the PSP. Adding to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/27/psp-dual-packs-double-down-on-games-for-15/">previous</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/18/mega-man-and-monster-hunter-bundled-up-for-psp/">packs</a> are three new bundles, once again packaged by genre. Each will be available as a download through PSN or at your favorite brick-and-mortar in January.<br />
<br />
For $14.99, you can snag one of these new Dual Packs: <em>Patapon </em>and<em> LocoRoco</em>; <em>Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee </em>and <em>Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip</em>; or <em>Motorstorm: Artic Edge</em> and <em>Twisted Metal: Head On</em>. If you've been waiting to pounce on these PSP classics, now may be the time - unless you're waiting on the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/vita/">Vita</a>. Of course, if you've waited long enough for these PSP games, odds are you're waiting on the Vita, too.<br />
<br />
And to think your mom said you'd never be a smart shopper. Way to show her!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/20/sony-debuts-three-new-umd-dual-packs-for-january/">Sony debuts three new UMD Dual Packs for January</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 20 Dec 2011 16:45:00 EST. Mach Kobayashi is an effects artist at a little computer animation house called Pixar. His newborn son, Dyson, just might end up in the games industry one day, thanks to the work of a family friend. Mach wrote in to share photos of <a href="http://www.machwerx.com/2010/03/24/loco-roco-nursery/">Dyson's nursery</a>, painted by professional set designer Asaki Oda to look like it's smack dab in the whimsical world of Sony's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco"><em>LocoRoco</em></a>. Both Mach and his wife Tracy are big fans of the games, and we're just <em>guessing </em>little Dyson will be inclined to be one too, growing up looking at this amazing artwork.<br />
<br />
The mural work was done while the couple was in India to get Dyson and must have made the return home that much more memorable. Soda has documented the process in an <a href="http://mtwebb.smugmug.com/Friends/201003-Dyson-Nursery-Mural/11527942_WJzqM#811548608_wHHvW">online photo album</a> so the whole world can see how the room -- its walls overflowing with multicolored LocoRocos and their friends the Mui Mui -- took shape. <br />
<br />
If you're reading this, Asaki, expect a call soon -- we all want our entire <em>houses</em> redone by you!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/25/locoroco-themed-nursery-is-mui-mui-amazing/">LocoRoco themed nursery is Mui Mui amazing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 25 Mar 2010 02:55:00 EST. PlayStation Home will be getting a near-lethal injection of cuteness tomorrow, thanks to the brand new LocoIsland Estate. Available in Europe for &pound;3.99 (US release TBA), the virtual island features a giant tree house and, even more exciting, a virtual cruise. The Estate also grants access to mini-games, like LocoReverse and a Domingo race.<br />
<br />
In addition to the <em>LocoRoco</em> space, PlayStation Home will also be getting a <em>MotorStorm</em> space. The MotorStorm Carrier is a decommissioned aircraft carrier that also features its own mini-games, quests and rewards (just like real-life aircraft carriers!). Check out trailers for both new spaces after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/locoroco-go-to-playstation-home/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LocoRoco go to PlayStation Home</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/17/locoroco-go-to-playstation-home/">LocoRoco go to PlayStation Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 17 Feb 2010 18:17:00 EST. Our biggest problem when <em>not</em> playing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco"><em>LocoRoco</em></a> is that we wished we were playing it. Sometimes, you're stuck in a situation where you just can't game, but that doesn't mean you can't have those cute and cuddly little blobs a mere glance away. That's where the PlayStation Blog comes in, as it's just <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/12/23/locoroco-festive-wallpapers/">posted</a> some festive <em>LocoRoco</em> wallpapers for all to enjoy, which differ somewhat from those posted by the American site <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/22/new-locoroco-midnight-carnival-dlc-just-in-time-for-the-holidays/">yesterday</a>.<br />
<br />
Feel free to slap 'em on your computer or on your PSP. And if anyone catches you staring and asks why you're crying, ignore them because that just means <em>they don't get it at all</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/23/locoroco-wallpapers-make-for-a-cute-christmas/">LocoRoco wallpapers make for a cute Christmas</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Dec 2009 17:15:00 EST. To celebrate the holiday season, SCEA has <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/12/make-it-a-loco-holiday-with-the-new-midnight-carnival-level-pack/">revealed</a> that a three-level DLC pack for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LocoRoco-Midnight-Carnival/"><em>LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</em></a> will be made available tomorrow. Included in the $2.99 pack are the strangely named levels "Shamplin 3," "BungaBongo 1" and "BuiBui Fort 3." SCEA promises each new level will add enough challenge for <em>LocoRoco</em> newbies as well as seasoned players.<br />
<br />
Those still on the fence about purchasing the latest <em>LocoRoco</em> PSP adventure will be able to play the DLC content through the (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/locoroco-midnight-carnival-bounces-onto-psp-on-october-29-for-1/">already available</a>) Midnight Carnival PSP demo (think: PSP Go's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/psp-gos-rock-band-unplugged-demo-plays-dlc/">bundled </a><em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/psp-gos-rock-band-unplugged-demo-plays-dlc/">Rock Band: Unplugged </a></em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/27/psp-gos-rock-band-unplugged-demo-plays-dlc/">trial</a> version). As an added holiday treat, SCEA released a slew of holiday themed <em>LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</em> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/sets/72157623046408058/">wallpaper</a> (as seen above) to get you in the festive mood.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/22/new-locoroco-midnight-carnival-dlc-just-in-time-for-the-holidays/">New LocoRoco Midnight Carnival DLC just in time for the holidays</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 22 Dec 2009 18:15:00 EST. While this sounds like a good idea, this new video from the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/10/coming-to-psn-this-week-locoroco-midnight-carnival/">PlayStation.blog</a> reveals that it's not very competitive. When connected with a friend over wi-fi, you'll be able to see their position on the map, and you'll see who's in the lead. However, you won't be able to interact with them in any way -- at least, not according to this footage.<br /><br /><em>Midnight Carnival</em> doesn't appear to be a significant departure from the previous <em>LocoRoco</em> games. This video does emphasize the importance of the "Boing" mechanic, which requires players to perform consecutive jumps without taking a break. <em>Midnight Carnival</em> will be available as a PSN download <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/locoroco-midnight-carnival-bounces-onto-psp-on-october-29-for-1/">later this week</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/26/a-look-at-multiplayer-in-locoroco-midnight-carnival/">A look at multiplayer in LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Oct 2009 18:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco-midnight-carnival/"><em>LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</em></a> is rolling onto the PlayStation Network on October 29 -- that's two weeks from now -- for $15. According to the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/10/happy-loco-ween-locoroco-midnight-carnival-approaches/">PlayStation.Blog</a>, that means you'll be able to get "16 brand new stages, full competitive and co-op modes, two minigames, and three additional bonus stages" for the price of three foot-longs at Subway.<br /><br />While <em>Midnight Carnival</em> has very simple controls (only the shoulder buttons are used), we're a bit surprised that the game includes a "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/02/nintendo-describes-demo-play-option-in-new-super-mario-bros-w/">Demo Play</a>"-esque feature for the kids. If a particular area is giving you a hard time, go online and connect with a friend that has the "savior mask" on. You'll be able to hold on to that friend and bypass the entire level. We at Joystiq will probably avoid that feature -- y'know, 'cuz we like <em>playing</em> games.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/locoroco-midnight-carnival-bounces-onto-psp-on-october-29-for-1/">LocoRoco Midnight Carnival bounces onto PSP on October 29 for $15</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Oct 2009 20:30:00 EST. Sony is set to unleash a new Home space to coincide with the release of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/18/hands-on-locoroco-midnight-carnival/"><em>LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</em></a> in Japan this November, <a href="http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2009/10/16/loco_roco_home">andriasang</a> reports. The new destination -- which features an island theme and many of the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco">LocoRoco</a> </em>franchise's signature characters -- will sport "gimmicks" that make it feel more unique than any of the other Home spaces available, Sony says. Sounds fine to us, though we think it's going to be tough granted how high the bar has been set by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/14/ratchet-and-clank-deadquarters-spaces-headed-home/">the <em>Ratchet &amp; Clank</em> space</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/16/locoroco-home-space-is-the-happiest-place-on-virtual-earth/">LocoRoco Home space is the happiest place on virtual earth</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 16 Oct 2009 16:15:00 EST. <div align="left">The latest, download-only installment in PSP's iconic <span style="font-style: italic;">LocoRoco</span> franchise features many familiar structural and gameplay elements from the first two titles, yet still manages to remain exciting and fresh. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco-midnight-carnival"><span style="font-style: italic;">LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</span></a> distinguishes itself from the previous games in that it has a very strong focus on level mastery and overall degree of challenge - Sony told us it's very much geared toward the "hardcore" <span style="font-style: italic;">LocoRoco</span> player.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/">LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220387"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-27_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220386"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-20_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220385"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220384"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>

<a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2009/09/01/a-closer-look-at-loco-roco-midnight-carnival/">A recent PlayStation.Blog post</a> confirmed a few suspicions we had after viewing the debut trailer for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco-midnight-carnival"><em>LocoRoco: Midnight Carnival</em></a>. Primarily, the post addresses the game's new arcadey feel -- a side-effect from the implementation of "Boinging," the hyperactive bouncing that was prevalent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/bounce-into-the-locoroco-midnight-carnival-debut-trailer/">in the aforementioned trailer</a>. You can string your Boings together, boosting your score multiplier in a <em>Stuntman: Ignition</em>-esque fashion. Man, <em>those</em> are two games we never thought we'd be comparing.<br /><br />No release date or pricing details are mentioned in the post, but considering the game only contains 16 stages, two mini-games and three bonus stages, we're hoping it ends up being easy on the ol' pocketbook.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/01/locoroco-midnight-carnival-details-bounce-into-our-hearts/">LocoRoco: Midnight Carnival details bounce into our hearts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Sep 2009 17:45:00 EST. As Justin correctly predicted, there isn't much to localize when it comes to <em>LocoRoco</em>. Unlike previous <em>LocoRoco</em> releases for PSP, this one will release exclusively through the PlayStation Network. From what we can tell from the trailer, this is a far more arcadey game than the originals, with a stronger emphasis on combos, times and scores. Anyone else reminded of <a href="http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2008/12/11/watch-how-jungle-beat-play-on-wii-plays-on-wii/"><em>Donkey Kong Jungle Beat</em></a>?<br /><br />While <em>Midnight Carnival</em> was originally announced as a "PSP Go game," don't forget that all PSP models, from Phat to 3000 can play all PSN downloadables.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/">LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220387"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-27_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220386"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-20_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220385"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-18_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220384"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-16_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-midnight-carnival/#2220383"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/08/2009-08-19_16-25-14_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/bounce-into-the-locoroco-midnight-carnival-debut-trailer/">Bounce into the LocoRoco Midnight Carnival debut trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Aug 2009 23:02:00 EST. "Midnight Carnival" is more than just the name of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/midnightcarnivalmusic">our favorite Rock/Metal/Glam band</a> from Sugarland, Texas. It's also, according to <em>Famitsu</em> by way of <a href="http://psp.ign.com/articles/101/1014901p1.html">IGN</a>, the subtitle of a new <em>LocoRoco </em>game available for download only on the PSP this November in Japan (the same day the PSP Go arrives there). Details are scarce, but you can expect a new "Boing" move and more difficult stages with an action focus.<br /><br />Though <em>LocoRoco Midnight Carnival</em> hasn't yet been announced in North America, we have to imagine it's a safe bet. It's not as if there's a whole lot of localization to be done for singing balls of goo, right?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/18/locoroco-midnight-carnival-coming-to-psp-in-japan/">LocoRoco Midnight Carnival coming to PSP in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Aug 2009 12:55:00 EST. Anyone who's ever played <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LocoRoco/">LocoRoco</a> </em>has been guilty of it. You just can't help but tip your PSP to the left or right, trying for that extra smidgen of incline to get your gelatinous balls of goo rolling, even though you know it has no real effect. But in ngmoco's <em>Rolando</em>, the controls are all about the angle of your system, and it makes for some of the most fun you can have on your iPhone.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/23/iphone-it-in-rolando/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>iPhone It In: Rolando</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/23/iphone-it-in-rolando/">iPhone It In: Rolando</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 23 Feb 2009 16:30:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Why is <em>LocoRoco 2</em> so much cheaper than the original?<br />
<ul>
    <li><span style="font-weight: bold;">A.</span> It's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs-08-locoroco-2-grabs-us-with-cuteness-and-depth/">so much better</a> than the original game and they simply want more people to play it.</li>
    <li><span style="font-weight: bold;">B.</span> They're begging you to <span style="font-style: italic;">please </span>just stop pirating their games.</li>
</ul>
Whatever the reason, we're happy with the price, as revealed on the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/01/14/get-locoroco-2-for-the-cost-of-just-two-movie-tickets/">PlayStation.Blog</a>. <span style="font-style: italic;">LocoRoco 2</span> hits American retail stores on February 10th.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/">LocoRoco 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/#1089106"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/locotg-trpkka_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/#1089107"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/locotg-yadokari_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/#1089108"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/locotg-005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/#1089076"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/locotg-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/locoroco-2-1/#1089109"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/10/locotg-afro_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></div>

<p> After such a <em>tiring</em> localization process (from English to ... er, English), <em>LocoRoco 2</em> will be available in the US this February. The blubbery fellows are finally coming back to the PSP with tons of enhancements over the original title. Watch for it on UMD on February 10th, 2009.</p>

Don't expect to find anything too startling about these <em>LocoRoco 2</em> videos. We're totally enamored by the upcoming PSP sequel, but the core gameplay experience has remained largely the same. Check out the megaton of videos released on <a href="http://psp.ign.com/dor/objects/883935/locoroco-2/videos/locoroco_Plinko.html">IGN</a> to find out for yourself. One video is embedded, after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/21/ign-goes-loco-with-locoroco-2-videos/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>IGN goes loco with LocoRoco 2 videos</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/21/ign-goes-loco-with-locoroco-2-videos/">IGN goes loco with LocoRoco 2 videos</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Nov 2008 13:45:00 EST. Expect more <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/littlebigplanet"><em>LittleBigPlanet</em></a> DLC to come in every week. Some of it is free, and some of it is not. This week's free <em>LittleBigPlanet </em>DLC is a costume designed by fan "nebu1ou5" for the "LittleBigChallenge 003- Official in-game SackBoy Costume Contest" held on the <a href="http://littlebigplanet.com/">official <em>LBP</em> website</a>. It's a Sackboy with a very outdated television set over his head and a remote in his hand. See that after the break.<br /><br />As for the content which you'll have to shell out some dough for, there are some weird looking <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco-2"><em>LocoRoco</em></a> costumes to grab. You can see all five <em>LocoRoco</em>-themed costumes posted above. All five come bundled together for $2.99. For us, these costumes are slightly disappointing seeing as there's only a mild resemblance to the lovable <em>LocoRoco</em> blobs, but we suppose those hand accessories (or <em>LocoRoco</em> bracelets?) make up for it.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/18/this-weeks-lbp-dlc-goes-loco/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>This week's LittleBigPlanet DLC is 'Loco'</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/18/this-weeks-lbp-dlc-goes-loco/">This week's LittleBigPlanet DLC is 'Loco'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Nov 2008 19:20:00 EST. "Sorry it took so long," <em>LocoRoco</em> designer Tsutomu Kouno told me. In spite of the original's high-profile and well-received launch on the PSP, it's been over two years since we saw these lovable blubbers hit Sony's handheld. The silence around the long-rumored sequel is a bit baffling, as getting our hands on with the upcoming PSP title revealed a disarming amount of new content for the sequel.<br /><br />It's undeniable that the original <em>LocoRoco</em> charmed hardcore gamers, thanks to its lovable style and rather unique design. However, it couldn't keep the attention of these gamers, as it was perhaps a bit <em>too</em> simplistic. While children and casual gamers were enchanted, hardcore gamers needed substance beyond tilting left and right.<br /><br />So perhaps <em>LocoRoco 2</em> is Kouno's attempt at bridging the gap between hardcore and casual audiences. The upcoming PSP-exclusive sequel maintains all the saccharin sweetness of the original, but adds new gameplay features that add a tremendous amount of depth to the experience. The sheer amount of content found in this UMD/downloadable game is staggering.<br /><br /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs-08-locoroco-2-grabs-us-with-cuteness-and-depth/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TGS 08: LocoRoco 2 grabs us with cuteness and depth</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/10/tgs-08-locoroco-2-grabs-us-with-cuteness-and-depth/">TGS 08: LocoRoco 2 grabs us with cuteness and depth</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 Oct 2008 09:00:00 EST. <p>This new <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco-2">LocoRoco 2</a> "special movie" found on the <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/locoroco2/">official Japanese website</a> shows us just how cute things on the PSP can be. The art direction looks about the same in this highly-anticipated sequel, along with some kawaii music that can get a little annoying if you listen to it more than once. The cute little blobs demonstrates some of their new skills here, such as swimming and biting. Stay for the end, which makes us wish there was a <span style="font-style: italic;">LocoRoco</span> TV show.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=332072">NeoGAF</a>]</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/locoroco-2-trailer-is-predictably-adorable/">LocoRoco 2 trailer is predictably adorable</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Aug 2008 08:00:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/locoroco2/">official Japanese <em>LocoRoco 2</em> site</a> has opened, and it includes the very first screenshots of the recently announced sequel. Unsurprisingly, the new <em>LocoRoco</em> looks exactly like the original. For those that were captivated by the charming style of the first game, that's far from a bad thing. Those that play close attention will see some of the LocoRoco's abilities (like swimming, pictured above). Stay tuned, because a game as big as this one will obviously garner a lot of attention.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/locoroco-2-official-site-opens-includes-screens/">LocoRoco 2 official site opens, includes screens</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 11 Jul 2008 11:30:00 EST. While <em>LocoRoco 2</em> was only <em>officially </em>announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/09/locoroco-2-patapon-2-both-revealed-in-this-weeks-famitsu/">yesterday</a>, it's been in development for quite some time. According to Famitsu (via <a href="http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168605">1UP</a>), the title is already 75% complete. The sequel will feature the return of the original's Moja Troop, but this time they have some tricks up their sleeves. They'll be after the adorable LocoRocos with the power of music. Uh-oh! "The Moja Troop are back with some new bosses, but this time they've also learned some songs," director Tsutomu Kouno says. "They've been practicing as hard as they can, and they've learned how to use music to sap the energy out of everyone. Now nobody feels like doing anything, so the LocoRoco have to go around the world and pep everyone back up again."<br /><br />According to Kouno, the game will retain the same simplistic charm of the original. "We've tried our best not to change the core gameplay too much," he says. "We're being careful to keep it from getting too complex, and in addition to that, we're putting in lots of new features for people who played the first game to enjoy." But, expect new moves, such as the ability to go underwater and the ability to bite things.<br /><br />Will we get to play it at E3? We hope so. Sony plans on showing new PSP games at E3, undoubtedly. This would be an ideal candidate.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/10/locoroco-sequel-already-75-done/">LocoRoco sequel already 75% done</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jul 2008 05:00:00 EST. The latest issue of Famitsu (via <a href="http://www.psphyper.com/psp/patapon-2-loco-roco-2-in-this-weeks-famitsu/">PSPHype</a>) reveals a sequel to <em>Patapon</em> is in the works and coming to Japanese PSPs this Winter (no US or Europe release mentioned). The game is being developed by Pyramid Studios, who made the previous game and <em>LocoRoco</em>. The magazine also has a two-page spread of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/sony-uk-locoroco-2-rolling-onto-psp-this-year/"><em>LocoRoco 2</em></a>, although gives no release date for any region. No matter how many times you shout pata-pata-pata-pon, the game won't get here any faster.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/07/09/locoroco-2-patapon-2-both-revealed-in-this-weeks-famitsu/">PSP Fanboy</a>; Image via <a href="http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/3/3/pon-pon-pata-pon/">Penny Arcade</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/09/famitsu-patapon-2-marches-on-japan-psps-this-winter/">Famitsu: Patapon 2 marches on Japan PSPs this Winter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 09 Jul 2008 09:00:00 EST. In an interview with <a href="http://www.mcvuk.com/interviews/266/PS-we-love-you#">MCV</a>, Sony Europe UK's product manager, Claire Backhouse, said the company is planning to release <em>LocoRoco 2</em> for PSP "this year." A <em>LocoRoco</em> follow-up has been rolling under the radar since late last July when series' director Tsutomu Kouno <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/30/loco-roco-sequels-planned-for-psp-as-well-as-ps3/">confirmed</a> plans for a true sequel. We're currently trying to clarify with Sony if "this year" means this calendar year or Sony's fiscal year (ending March 2009).<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: Sony informs us it has not distributed any news regarding <em>LocoRoco 2</em> so it can't "confirm," or in this case <em>clarify</em>, anything. "Stay tuned for more details."<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pspfanboy.com/2008/06/15/locoroco-2-due-out-sometime-this-year/">PSP Fanboy</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/16/sony-uk-locoroco-2-rolling-onto-psp-this-year/">Sony UK: LocoRoco 2 rolling onto PSP 'this year'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 16 Jun 2008 18:14:00 EST. In addition to talking about the busy summer ahead for the PSP, whether it be increased incorporation with the PS3 and Remote Play, or the new Go!Range set of utilities adding GPS and voice video calling among other things. She says that "The key software titles we have coming out this year for PSP include <em>Echochrome</em>, <em>Buzz The Master Quiz</em>, <em>Secret Agent Clank</em> and <em>LocoRoco 2</em>." Whether this means 2008 or the fiscal year which ends at the end of March 2009, we don't know. Those silly balloon creatures in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/LocoRoco/"><em>Loco Roco</em></a> are doing more than their usual passive in-game combining and dividing -- they're taking those skills and teaching kids how to do it for themselves. Wait, before you get confused, we don't mean kids are attaching themselves to one another to make one giant kid ... we mean that the Loco Roco are actively teaching kids all about multiplication, division, and basic arithmetic. Don't get any funny ideas.<br />
<br />
While the actual <em>Loco Roco </em>game isn't used in the classroom, its characters are presented in visual aids. According to <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1214085_1124.html">Famitsu</a>, this unique way of teaching mathematics to children has been done recently at an elementary school in Chiba, Japan. The next class? Physics 101 with <em>Dragon Ball Z</em>.<br />
<br />
It's great to see the Loco Roco helping out with what they do best, and we can't wait to see this become a fully institutionalized part of the teaching curriculum. Maybe, someday. It's also nice knowing that the PSP is becoming more and more <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/03/plato-brings-educational-games-to-psp/">edu-friendly</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/13/loco-roco-teaches-japanese-kids-how-to-divide-and-multiply/">Loco Roco teaches Japanese kids how to divide and multiply</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Mar 2008 17:00:00 EST. Though we haven't had a look at the final packaging just yet, Sony has given us an <em>excellent</em> idea as to what <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Patapon/">Patapon</a></em>'s back-of-the-box bullet points might say:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Intriguing and utterly unique blend of strategy and rhythm gameplay!</li>
    <li>From the creators of the critically acclaimed <em>LocoRoco</em>!</li>
    <li>Bizarre, yet entirely endearing art style!</li>
    <li><a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/01/21/patapon-pata-price-1999/">Costs a mere $19.99!</a></li>
    <li>"<em>Excellent</em>" -- Joystiq, 21 Jan. 2008</li>
</ul>
Sony hopes that the lower price point will push <em>Patapon</em> to a broader audience, one perhaps unswayed by the unusual gameplay and our glowing, out-of-context recommendation. It's a wise move that also favors those of us <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/16/joystiq-hands-on-patapon-psp/">already keen</a> on rhythmically conquering the lands of <em>Patapon</em>.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/">Patapon</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/#533147"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/patapon1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/#533141"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/071112_patapon_pvenglish01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/#533142"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/071112_patapon_pvenglish03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/#533143"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/071112_patapon_pvenglish03-_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/patapon-1/#533144"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/071112_patapon_pvenglish04-_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/21/get-your-patapon-on-for-20/">Get your Patapon on for $20</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 21 Jan 2008 17:30:00 EST. As <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/07/new-christmas-locoroco-demo-incoming/">expected</a>, the Japanese PS Store was updated today with a "new" Christmas demo of <em>LocoRoco</em>. The problem? It's not new at all. It's the same demo as the one we featured <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/11/loco-roco-christmas-downloadable-demo-m">last year</a>, unfortunately. Most likely, a lot of new PSP owners haven't experienced the glory that is <em>LocoRoco</em> and this revival of the Christmas demo will serve as a gateway drug for more of these blubbery critters. Good move, Sony -- but we want some new <em>LocoRoco</em> fun ... soon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/13/new-locoroco-demo-is-not-so-new/">New LocoRoco demo is not-so-new</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Dec 2007 14:30:00 EST. The team behind the award-winning <em>LocoRoco</em> is working on a brand new PSP game ... and they're <a href="http://www.scei.co.jp/synthesis/career/locoroco/index.html">looking for help</a>. Imagine! You could be working on the next game from this imaginative group ... provided you live in Japan. We're glad to see the team moving onto something new, something Kouno has been hinting at for quite some time now.<br /><br />[Thanks, Joe! With all eyes <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/tgs07">turned to Tokyo</a> this week, Sony has thrown North American PlayStation 3 gamers a bone in the form of the charming, but <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/19/tgs07-locoroco-cocoreccho-hands-on/">perhaps overly complicated</a> "screensaver" game <em>LocoRoco Cocoreccho</em>, as well as a handful of new game demos including <em>Sega Rally Revo</em>, the first title in development from Sega Driving Studio.<br /><br />Those wanting to pick up the successor to Sony Japan's delightful PSP original <em>LocoRoco</em> can do so for $6.99, a bit of a leap from the game's <a href="http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/09/12/loco-roco-cocoreccho-available-next-week-on-the-uk-psn-for-cheap/">previously confirmed</a> &pound;1.99 price in the UK. In addition to the already mentioned rally racer, PSN users can also snag demos for EA's <em>Tony Hawk</em> competitor <em>Skate</em>, as well as THQ's <em>Stuntman: Ignition</em> and Sony's own forthcoming <em>NBA 08</em>.<br /><br />And as if that isn't enough, it also looks like Sony has tossed up some wallpapers, videos, and trailers from such eagerly anticipated eye candy as <em>GT5 Prologue</em>, <em>Devil May Cry 4</em>, and <em>Ratchet and Clank Future</em>, making this a meaty update indeed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/20/locoroco-cocoreccho-sega-rally-demo-highlight-psn-update/">LocoRoco Cocoreccho, Sega Rally Demo highlight PSN update</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 20 Sep 2007 15:20:00 EST. <br />
Unfortunately, Andrew was rather disappointed with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/locoroco/">interactive screensaver</a>, blaming inconsistent and overly complicated controls, which makes the game lose much of what we loved about the first - simplicity.<br />

<em>LocoRoco Cocoreccho</em> will arrive on the PlayStation Store <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/12/loco-roco-cocoreccho-available-next-week-on-the-uk-psn-for-cheap/">this week</a>, and we were able to get some time with it at Sony's pre-TGS media event. We're sad to say that this brand new PS3 sequel loses one of the most important aspects of the original: simplicity. <em>LocoRoco</em> on the PSP charmed gamers with its simple and intuitive play mechanic that could be understood from the moment one picks up the system.<br />
<br />
One cannot say the same for <em>Cocoreccho</em>, the supposed "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/31/confirmed-locoroco-ps3-is-a-screensaver/">screensaver</a>" game for PS3. There are too many different control mechanisms at play, creating a generally disparate experience. For example, the ability to tilt the world is surprisingly inconsistent: it can only occur during specific parts of each level. Players will have to rock the controller, pump it up and down, sway it left and right throughout each level -- in addition to having to move the analog stick to control the floating butterflies that motivate the LocoRocos to move along. The lengthy tutorial that's included with our demo worries us that the game is much too complicated for its own good.<br />
<br />
Obviously, we need to spend more time with the title to fully understand the nuances of the "game" -- perhaps when slowly introduced to the experience, it becomes much more endearing. But in the very little we've seen, we were dismayed by the surprising complexity of this <em>LocoRoco</em> follow-up.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/19/tgs07-locoroco-cocoreccho-hands-on/">TGS07: LocoRoco Cocoreccho hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Sep 2007 11:44:00 EST. Little LocoRocos, you're so happy, you make us happy, too. We love watching you bounce and squish. Oh, to tickle a <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/locoroco">LocoRoco</a> would make us burst with joy. We'd <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP3GKWlYVdY">explode with rainbows</a>, of course. (That's a mildly NSFW link, all you weekend laborers.)<br /><br />Sony's PS3 <em>LocoRoco Cocoreccho!</em> "interactive screensaver" um, thing will launch next week in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/12/loco-roco-ps3-rolls-out-next-thursday-first-day-of-tgs/">many parts of the world</a>. But the Sixaxis might not let us pet the little creatures. <em>Cocoreccho! </em>isn't quite a game, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/31/confirmed-locoroco-ps3-is-a-screensaver/">we're still not quite sure what it is</a>. But this newest trailer at least annotates some of things players can do, while the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/29/locoroco-ps3-dated-for-japans-psn-sept-21/">earlier video</a> left us guessing.<br /><br />Watch the cuteness after the break, or imagine it on a crisp HDTV with the direct <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24922.html">HD feed</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/15/todays-cuddliest-video-locoroco-cocoreccho-trailer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Today's cuddliest video: LocoRoco Cocoreccho trailer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/15/todays-cuddliest-video-locoroco-cocoreccho-trailer/">Today's cuddliest video: LocoRoco Cocoreccho trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 15 Sep 2007 00:00:00 EST. According to UK videogame site <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=171810">CVG</a>, <em>Loco Roco Cocoreccho </em>is rolling onto the UK PSN next week for the budget price of just <span class="text_article_body">&pound;1.99. This puts it significantly cheaper than the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/01/locoroco-details-emerge-clarified-as-screensaver-game/">Japanese release</a>, which at 800 yen puts it at almost 2x the cost of the UK release.<br />
<br />
It is assumed that the reason for the cheap cost is that this isn't a full fledged game per se, but some kind of weird bastard child of a <em>Loco Roco</em> game (with full tilt controls evidently) and um, a screensaver. They haven't mentioned HOW it's a screensaver, but considering the title has online leaderboards and actual gameplay so it's going to be a pretty damn in-depth screensaver. <br />
<br />
So with the British and the Japanese getting <em>Loco Roco Cocoreccho </em>next week, where's the American love?<br />

PlayStation 3's pseudo-screensaver casual title <em>Loco Roco </em><em>Cocoreccho</em> <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=83200">will plop down</a> onto Europe's PS Store next Thursday, September 21 -- which, not coincidentally, is the first day of the Tokyo Game Show. It will cost &pound;1.99 (EUR 2.92, US $4.00).<br /><br /><em>Cocoreccho </em>is also slated for release <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/29/locoroco-ps3-dated-for-japans-psn-sept-21/">September 21 in Japan</a>. No word on the North American release, but our understanding of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squeeze_theorem">squeeze theorem</a> coupled with traditional territorial game release schedules (Japan 1st, North America 2nd, Europe 3rd) tell us that the game will likely hit stateside next Thursday, as well. We'll let you know when we confirm that.<br /><br />In the title, the player will utilize the Sixaxis' motion controls for interactive with the game world. Can we get a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/07/sony-sends-out-lair-reviewers-guide-must-not-laugh/">reviewer's guide</a> for this title, too?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/12/loco-roco-ps3-rolls-out-next-thursday-first-day-of-tgs/">Loco Roco PS3 rolls out next Thursday, first day of TGS</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Sep 2007 13:25:00 EST. Is it a game? Is it a screensaver? It is both? Is it ... neither? It's an interactive screensaver with over 200 Loco Rocos to play with, using the Sixaxis. All these bubbling blobs of bliss sit on-screen at once and your objective is to collect as many as possible and lead them to the goal.<br /><br />As you journey, you'll play three mini-games to multiply the number of blobs in your possession. Also, online leaderboards will make an entrance to see how your fellow screen-saver-playing buddies are doing, including a time attack option. Japan is getting the title on September 21st, but there's no word yet on a US or European release. It'll cost the Japanese about 800 yen and set them back nearly 190 MB, as explained on the <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/cocoreccho/">Japanese website</a> for the game. If you're using Firefox, it seems to disable tabbing, so open a new window just to be safe.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/01/locoroco-details-emerge-clarified-as-screensaver-game/">LocoRoco details emerge, clarified as screensaver/game</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 01 Sep 2007 13:00:00 EST.
