If you're uncomfortable with GameStop's tenacity as it pursues your reservations and trade-ins, you'll probably be displeased to learn that "pre-order pokes" could be coming in the near future. The gargantuan games retailer recently opened up <a href="http://apps.facebook.com/gamestopshop/">a Facebook storefront</a>, through which shoppers can purchase and reserve titles, view trailers and screenshot galleries and, in the near future, earn and redeem PowerUp Rewards points.<br />
<br />
Between this and GameStop's recent acquisition of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/31/gamestop-indulges-in-some-impulse-buying-no-seriously-it-bo/">Impulse and Spawn Labs</a>, it seems the retailer's taking its new digital strategy pretty seriously. We wouldn't be surprised to see if the company adopted a presence on LiveJournal, as well. We'd be curious to learn what its mood is like on a day-to-day basis, as well as what hot bands it's <em>totally</em> into right now.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/08/gamestop-opens-digital-storefront-on-facebook/">GameStop opens digital storefront on Facebook</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Apr 2011 08:00:00 EST. During BlizzCon 2009, Blizzard revealed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/25/blizzcon-2009-the-new-battle-net/">plans</a> to put a <a href="http://us.starcraft2.com/features/misc/battlenet.xml">shopping interface</a> inside <em>StarCraft 2</em>, which would allow players to purchase user-created maps, with revenue shared between Blizzard and the creator. The game came out in July 2010, sans marketplace, and that feature is still missing.<br />
<br />
During an interview with <a href="http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2011/03/17/starcraft-2-marketplace-still-coming-says-blizzard/">MTV Multiplayer</a>, Blizzard's Frank Pearce asserted that the feature is still on the way. "But it's not necessarily something we have a specific timeline for," he said, "which is unfortunate because one of the things that we've found is, especially from our learnings from <em>World of WarCraft</em>, is that these audiences that play these games are very, very passionate and want to experience lots and lots of content. With the <em>StarCraft 2</em> client and the <em>StarCraft 2</em> map editor and the Battle.net platform, it creates an opportunity for the community to serve itself with content, if the mechanisms are there."<br />
<br />
To be fair, if it <em>did</em> have a timeline, it would be a Blizzard timeline, and therefore could only be specific to the year. Approximately.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/17/blizzard-starcraft-2-marketplace-still-coming/">Blizzard: StarCraft 2 'marketplace' still coming</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 17 Mar 2011 16:00:00 EST. If this Thursday finds you in a <em>superheroic</em> mood, a recent addition to the Xbox Live Marketplace might just serve as an excellent outlet for you to dish out some costumed justice. Major Nelson recently confirmed that <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/11/05/demo-marvel-ultimate-alliance-2.aspx">a demo for <em>Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2</em></a> has been added to the service. Sure, it's a bit tardy, considering <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/marvel-ultimate-alliance-2">the game came out</a> nearly two months ago. Still, we'll happily accept any <em>free</em> opportunities we can get to pretend to be Gambit for a few minutes. We kin' try talkin' like dis', ma cherie, but ... well, it doesn't really cut it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/05/civil-war-breaks-out-on-xblm-marvel-ultimate-alliance-2-demo-re/">Civil War breaks out on XBLM, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 demo released</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Nov 2009 12:45:00 EST. If using a credit card online rubs you the wrong way -- or your extreme laziness prevents you from leaving your home to purchase a points card -- <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2009/08/06/pay-pal-now-available-for-us-xbox-live-accounts.aspx">PayPal can now be used</a> to buy Microsoft Points on Xbox.com. There are a few caveats to the new option, however: The new payment method is only available to US residents and will only work through Xbox.com (not your actual console). <br /><br />Users can attach multiple PayPal accounts to their Gamertags and purchase points, which can then be used to purchase content -- like (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/06/bioshock-surfaces-on-games-on-demand-costs-30/">the insanely priced</a>) Xbox 360 Games on Demand titles. To add a PayPal account, follow these easy steps:<br />
<ul>
    <li>Sign in to <a href="http://www.xbox.com">Xbox.com</a></li>
    <li>Direct your browser to the <a href="https://www.xbox.com/accounts" target="_blank">Account Summary page</a></li>
    <li>Select "Manage Payment Option"</li>
    <li>Click "Add a new PayPal Account" and follow the onscreen instructions.<br /></li>
</ul>
Your virtual wallet will be filled with Microsoft Funny Money in no time!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/07/psa-paypal-now-works-for-purchases-on-xbox-com/">PSA: PayPal now works for purchases on Xbox.com</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Aug 2009 14:30:00 EST. Microsoft <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/aboutGFW/pages/gfw3intro.aspx">reports</a> the new update is now available, which adds <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/13/what-to-expect-from-the-games-for-windows-live-marketplace/">the Marketplace</a>, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/25/games-for-windows-update-to-address-piracy-dlc/">anti-piracy measures</a> and a host of other new features to the PC suite. Select individuals have been seen sporting <em>Halo</em>-themed Avatar clothing recently, with fine young gentleman <a href="http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&amp;GamerTag=Randy%20No%20Arms">Randy No Arms</a> being the latest spotted. It makes sense, considering <a href="http://www.randyrants.com/me.html">the guy works for Microsoft</a>, but are these new duds a part of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/27/microsoft-beta-testing-avatar-awards/">Avatar rewards beta</a>, or is this <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/microsoft-announces-avatar-marketplace-unlockable-apparel/">the Avatar marketplace</a> at work? Regardless, we're totally jealous he's sporting a slew of <em>Halo-</em>branded clothes, including a hat emblazoned with the UNSC symbol, a shirt with a pair of crossed energy swords, and a nice pair of khaki shorts with the Spartan helmet on the left leg.<br /><br />Be sure to hit up our gallery below for some shots of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/microsoft-announces-avatar-marketplace-unlockable-apparel/">the Avatar marketplace</a> from <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/e3-2009">E3</a>, complete with <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/tag/gears-of-war-2"><em>Gears of War 2</em></a> and <em><a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/search/?q=halo">Halo</a> </em>storefronts.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/27/halo-themed-avatar-clothing-spotted-in-the-wild/">Halo-themed Avatar clothing spotted in the wild</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 27 Jun 2009 19:00:00 EST. A Microsoft representative has informed Joystiq that the public availability of the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Gears-2/">Gears 2</a></em> Gold Lancer was made in error. Yesterday, we <a href="http://xbox.joystiq.com/2009/01/27/grab-the-in-game-gears-2-gold-lancer-for-free/">reported</a> that the exclusive <em>Collector's Edition</em> weapon had appeared on the Xbox.com Marketplace for all to wield.<br /><br />According to the rep, everyone who obtained the Gold Lancer from the <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d53082d/?p=1&amp;of=6&amp;sb=1&amp;did=0ccf0001-0000-4000-8000-00004d53082d">Xbox.com Marketplace</a> will have the item removed from their games in an upcoming fix, in order to keep the weapon exclusive to <em>Gears 2 Collector's Edition </em>consumers. "We're currently attempting a fix that will expire all codes that were unexpectedly released in error through Xbox LIVE Marketplace," the representative noted.<br /><br />How Microsoft will remove (or possibly disable) the art asset file and differentiate between legitimate owners and those who grabbed the guns as they fell off the back of the truck is unclear. A request for clarification on how or when the fix would be implemented has gone unanswered, but we'll update you as soon as we know more.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: While the original listing for the Gold Lancer remains on the <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d53082d/?p=1&amp;of=6&amp;sb=1&amp;did=0ccf0001-0000-4000-8000-00004d53082d">Xbox.com Marketplace</a>, the item now shows a price of 99999<img border="0" alt="" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2007/11/microsoftpointslogosmall.gif" />. Gold Lancers received through the error have yet to be removed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/28/gears-of-war-2-microsoft-flubs-gold-lancer-offer/">Gears of War 2: Microsoft flubs gold Lancer offer [update]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 Jan 2009 13:53:00 EST. Attention <em>Resident Evil</em> fans <em>not</em> currently living on the island nation of Japan: The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-5"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a> demo is <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802434307d4/?p=1&amp;of=1&amp;sb=1#offers">now available</a> to Xbox Live Gold members everywhere <strike>(except Germany)</strike>. The demo contains two levels and allows for co-op play both offline and over Xbox Live. There don't appear to be any major differences between this demo and the demo that was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/05/resident-evil-5-demo-hits-xbox-live-in-japan/">released in Japan last month</a>, so don't expect any surprises if you managed to play it before. Actually, there might be one surprise: It probably won't <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/10/ms-disables-resident-evil-5-demos-live-co-op/">stop working</a> week from now.<br /><br />Go ahead and <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802434307d4/?p=1&amp;of=1&amp;sb=1#offers">queue up your download</a> right now. While you're waiting, why not check out our impressions of the Japanese demo after the break? It'll do you good.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/26/resident-evil-5-demo-now-infects-xblm-worldwide/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Resident Evil 5 demo now infects XBLM worldwide</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/26/resident-evil-5-demo-now-infects-xblm-worldwide/">Resident Evil 5 demo now infects XBLM worldwide</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 26 Jan 2009 10:00:00 EST. Having been delayed late last year thanks to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/10/eidos-confirms-crystal-dynamics-layoffs/">layoffs at Crystal Dynamics</a>, Eidos has officialy set a new date for the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/06/ms-secures-exclusive-tomb-raider-episodes/"><em>Tomb Raider: Underworld </em>DLC</a>. The first content pack, "Beneath the Ashes," is set to arrive on February 10 and finds Lara exploring the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/19/tomb-raider-underworld-e3-trailer-blows-our-minds-in-reverse/">ruins of Croft Manner</a> to discover a hidden "deadly source of power" amidst ancient caverns and crypts. Frankly, we hope the DLC unravels the mystery as to why the Crofts decided to build their mansion on top of so many caverns and crypts in the first place. "Beneath the Ashes" will also contain six new costumes for Lara and new achievements worth 125 points.<br /><br />The second batch of DLC, "Lara's Shadow," will be available March 10. No details were released regarding the second pack, but it's probably safe to assume it will also contain a new level, costumes, and achievements. No prices were announced, though GameStop <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/12/retail-tomb-raider-underworld-dlc-coming-jan-21/">lists both packs</a> combined for $20, leading us to believe they will be individually priced at 800 points.<br /><br />It's worth noting that former creative director for Crystal Dynamics, Eric Lindstrom, has stated that the DLC levels were <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/12/tomb-raider-underworld-creative-director-speaks-out-on-his-layo/">originally intended</a> to be included in the retail game, but were cut as the result of "a production issue" that would have caused the game to miss its ship date.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/22/tomb-raider-underworld-dlc-set-for-feb-10-march-10/">Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC set for Feb. 10, March 10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 13:00:00 EST. It was actually <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/12/tgs-08-watch-these-resident-evil-5-trailers/">shown at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show</a>. The catch, you see, is that it was <em>only</em> shown at the Tokyo Game Show, and we were all prevented from seeing it in its full, high definition glory. But that was the past, as the trailer is now available to one and all and it's a <em>doozy</em>. Seriously, this sucker is over five minutes long. It's probably the closest look at the game's story that we've been given so far -- what's Umbrella doing in an African cave? -- and it has a extra strength dose of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/09/resident-evil-5-theatrical-trailer-is-weskerific/">Wesker</a>. Be sure to watch the whole thing, as Jill Valentine makes a cameo (of sorts).<br /><br />Also, for those who'd rather watch from the couch, the trailer is now <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/44537.html?type=">available on Xbox Live Marketplac</a>e as well.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/19/new-resident-evil-5-trailer-hits-the-web-xblm/">'New' Resident Evil 5 trailer hits the web, XBLM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 12:30:00 EST. If you happened to catch a recent <a href="http://twitter.com/majornelson/status/1118711498">Twitter update</a> from Major Nelson, you may have already discovered that <em>BlowOut</em> is the next title headed to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-originals">Xbox Originals</a>. Supposing this is the first you've heard of it -- Gamerscore Blog just <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2009/01/14/562699.aspx">made it official</a> -- we imagine your reaction is much the same as ours was. That is to say a reaction of complete puzzlement. It's not that we think <em>BlowOut</em> is a poor choice for Xbox Originals (an accusation we could level at many previous choices). No, it's that we have <em>no idea</em> what <em>BlowOut</em> is. We canvassed our coworkers and no one remembers <em>BlowOut</em>. At all.<br /><br />Thankfully, it appears the game's <a href="http://www.blowoutgame.com/index.htm">official website</a> is still active and we think it tells you everything you need to know. It's a side scroller. You shoot things. A lot. Oh, and the tagline is <em>priceless</em>. It concerns the game's main character, a space marine nicknamed Dutch. Ahem: "Mess with Dutch, don't live much!!!" (Note the triple exclamation points. Very important.) <br /><br /><em>BlowOut</em> will hit Marketplace on January 19th for 1200 Microsoft Points.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/14/blowout-headed-to-xbox-originals-wait-what/">Blowout headed to Xbox Originals (wait, what?)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 14 Jan 2009 15:15:00 EST. <div align="left">Pssst. Hey, Gold Xbox Live members, over here. This post is just for you. Are the Silver members gone? Good. Okay, here's the deal. Major Nelson has <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/12/10/winter-holiday-theme-free.aspx">informed us</a> that you (just you, not Silver members) are now entitled to a free Winter Holiday theme. Since neither Major nor Xbox.com provide any images of the Winter theme, we snapped a quick spy picture. We even made it kind of blurry and took at an awkward angle to make it seem more clandestine. Cool, huh? Anyway, like we said, it's free. You can download it by clicking <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802fffe07d1/?p=1&amp;of=8&amp;sb=1">this link</a>. Just don't tell the Silver members. If they ever learn of our opulence, surely they will revolt.</div>

Major Nelson sends word that Microsoft is beginning a new promotion this week, the Xbox Live Marketplace Holiday Deal of the Week. Throughout December, Microsoft will announce a new deal of the week for <strong>Gold members only</strong> on a certain content from the Xbox Live Marketplace. <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/12/01/xbox-live-marketplace-holiday-deal-of-the-week.aspx">This week's deal</a> is the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/legendary-map-pack">Legendary Map Pack</a> for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a>, which will be discounted from 600 Microsoft Points to 400 starting tomorrow (<em>Halo</em> fans may recall that the original 800 point price was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/halo-3s-cold-storage-free-on-bungie-day/">reduced to 600</a> earlier this year).<br />
<br />
For only five bucks, you can grab three maps for <em>Halo 3</em> which include Ghost Town, Avalanche and Blackout. The deal will only be available for one week -- again, starting tomorrow -- so you'd best think fast if you want to take advantage of it. A new deal will be announced next Monday and more deals are expected to follow throughout December.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/01/xblm-holiday-deal-of-the-week-legendary-map-pack-for-400-points/">XBLM Holiday Deal of the Week: Legendary Map Pack for 400 points</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Dec 2008 16:00:00 EST. If you've been able to look past the numerous reported <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/metareview-the-last-remnant-xbox-360/">technical issues</a> with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/the-last-remnant"><em>The Last Remnant</em></a>, you should be happy to hear that that three downloadable content packs are on the way for the game. The first, Challenge Pack 1: Purgatory's Sins, will be available to Xbox Live Gold members on December 1 and Silver members on December 8. This pack includes new guild tasks. Also available on these dates will be The Key of Ancient Ruins which, appropriately enough, unlocks the Ancient Ruins in the game. The third bit of DLC, Challenge Pack 2: The Price of Lies, which includes more guild tasks, will be available to Gold members on December 22 and Silver members on the 29th. All three of the above content packs will be completely free.<br /><br />Finally, March to War, which was previously available only to those who had pre-ordered the game, will be made available to both Gold and Silver members on December 15 for 100 Microsoft Points. March to War adds three more formations for the game: Scatterswarm, Goblet and Catapult.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/29/four-dlc-packs-for-last-remnant-in-december/">Four DLC packs for Last Remnant in December</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 29 Nov 2008 15:00:00 EST. As if we weren't already up to our eyeballs in zombies, the latest issue of <em>Famitsu</em> (as <a href="http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/933/933962p1.html">translated by IGN</a>) states that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Capcom/">Capcom</a> plans to release a demo of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/resident-evil-5"><em>Resident Evil 5</em></a> onto <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-live-marketplace">Xbox Live Marketplace</a> on December 5*. The demo will include two playable stages and will include both offline and co-op modes. Caveat alert: as Famitsu is a Japanese magazine, the demo is currently only confirmed for Japan. We have our top men (<em>top</em> <em>men</em>) needling Capcom about the matter, so hopefully we'll have a confirmed demo for other regions shortly.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/26/famitsu-resident-evil-5-demo-hitting-xbox-live-dec-5/">Joystiq</a>]<br /><br /><em><font size="1">*Yes, we realize that the enemies in </font></em><font size="1">Resident Evil 5<em> are not technically zombies, as established in </em>Resident Evil 4<em> but, for all intents and purposes, they're zombies, mkay? We realize that many of our readers have long since forgotten Halloween -- its memory having been replaced by slavering thoughts of turkey -- but that doesn't mean we have to forget about survival horror. In an effort to remind us -- and perhaps to push a few more copies out the door -- <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/EA/">EA</a> has released a demo for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dead-space"><em>Dead Space</em></a> onto the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xblm">Xbox Live Marketplace</a> (sorry, Gold members only, for now). The demo is vaguely referred to as a "Dismemberment Demo" and, frankly, we haven't the foggiest idea what <em>that's</em> about. And hey, check this out, thanks to the new online Marketplace at Xbox.com, we can do this:<br /><br /><a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80245410857/?p=1&amp;of=1&amp;sb=1#offers">Click here to add the <em>Dead Space</em> demo to your 360 download queue!</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/dead-space-demo-dismembers-xblm/">Dead Space Demo dismembers XBLM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Nov 2008 11:00:00 EST. The third song in the pack is the band's original hit "<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnwLf88t_Wc">Mr. Brightside</a>." Full game digital distribution is in the cards for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/games-for-windows-live/">Games For Windows Live</a>, we just don't know when that hand will be dealt. "Clearly it's on our road map," GM Chris Early confirmed to <a href="http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/55877">Shacknews</a>. An <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/games-for-windows-live-redesigned-screenshots-details/">update</a> to the service today added video, demo and DLC support to Microsoft's PC Marketplace.<br /><br />Should services like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/steam/">Steam</a> be concerned? Not yet, at least. But with Microsoft already locking up exclusive content for GFW Live (see <em>Fallout 3</em> PC DLC), there's precedence to suggest the company could scoop into its considerable war chest and strike up some exclusivity deals when it gets around to offering full releases. Of course, Microsoft is known for taking its sweet time getting to the ultimate destination. Road maps can be complicated, you know?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/12/full-pc-games-on-road-map-of-gfw-live-marketplace/">Full PC games on 'road map' of GFW Marketplace</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Nov 2008 17:14:00 EST. We're not even sure why you're sitting there reading this. If we were you -- and despite what your schizophrenic side tells you, we're not -- we would be running to our Xbox 360 and downloading right now. But, for the sake of formality: The <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/left-4-dead"><em>Left 4 Dead</em></a> demo is now on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Xbox-Live-Marketplace/">Xbox Live Marketplace</a> for all to download and enjoy. The demo includes single-player and online multiplayer sections of the game and even supports two-player splitscreen support. Go get it already!<br /><br />For those of you lucky enough to have the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/NXE/">NXE</a>, we should note that the demo is <em>not</em> currently showing up in the New Arrivals section of Game Demos on XBLM. We had to browse the All Games section for <em>Left 4 Dead</em> (it's under L!) in order to find it. Also, strangely, it can be found in the Game Demos section under the letter L, but <em>only</em> if you sort the list by popularity. Our best guess is that a cyber zombie has been chewing on the brains of Xbox Live. It's the only thing that makes sense, really.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/11/left-4-dead-demo-zombifies-xblm/">Left 4 Dead demo zombifies XBLM</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Nov 2008 12:00:00 EST. Do you have any of "those" friends? You know the ones. The ones that <em>still</em> think that video games are exclusively the domain of kindergartners, and anyone who plays them beyond grade school is a mentally stunted weirdo? If so, we suggest heartily that you show them the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mirrors-edge"><em>Mirror's Edge</em></a> demo that just landed on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Marketplace/">Marketplace</a>. If they're able to take in the beautiful, visceral visuals and <em>still</em> walk away unimpressed, we suggest you try again. Only the second time, you should play whilst wearing a smoking jacket and sipping on a glass of cognac, preferably while <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOjDIfRLgo4">sitting in a wingback leather chair</a>. If <em>that</em> doesn't work ... well, you don't need "those" kinds of friends.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/10/31/mirrors-edge-demo-vaults-onto-marketplace-lands-on-feet/">Mirror's Edge demo vaults onto Marketplace (lands on feet)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 Oct 2008 10:30:00 EST. Tiny ninja fans rejoice! A new level pack for the high jumpin', wall slidin' platformer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/n+"><em>N+</em></a> is now available on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-live-marketplace">Xbox Live Marketplace</a>. Oh, but that's not all. It's also 100% completely, totally free! So, that's pretty cool right? The folks at Metanet have also annoucned a new "contesque" in which you could win a copy of <em>N+</em> on your platform of choice. All you have to do is send a picture of an <em>N+</em> related <a href="http://www.metanetsoftware.com/N+/PDLC/Zap_drone.jpg">costume</a> or craft, or a piece of digital art. Here we are, September 18, and the <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/fracture">Fracture</a> </em>demo <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/10/fracture-demo-to-reshape-xbox-live-sept-18/">promised</a> by LucasArts has landed on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xbox-live-marketplace">Xbox Live Marketplace</a>. Weighing in at 772MB, the demo allows players to sample a section of <em>Fracture</em>'s single player campaign. Using the game's terrain deformation system, players can try their hand at creating and destroying the landscape using a variety of weapons. Here's hoping that creating hills, holes, craters and spires is enough to keep things interesting. If you've been anxious to try out <em>Fracture</em>'s much vaunted terrain deformation, give it a go.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/18/fracture-demo-sends-shockwaves-through-xbox-live/">Fracture demo sends shockwaves through Xbox Live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Sep 2008 09:30:00 EST. Three days after <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Pandemic/">Pandemic</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/13/mercenaries-2-demo-not-on-the-marketplace/">announced</a> that a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mercenaries-2"><em>Mercenaries 2</em></a> demo was on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xblm">Xbox Live Marketplace</a>, it finally emerges. Where was it hiding? We're not sure. Venezuela perhaps. Regardless of where it's been, it's available now for anyone who wants to give its particular brand of open world destruction a try. Be warned though, the demo only lasts for twenty minutes, and the timer doesn't reset when you die, <em>and</em> it boots you back to the dashboard when time is up. Better get that destruction in while you can (and hope that you can figure the game out without a tutorial).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/16/mercenaries-2-demo-explodes-onto-xbox-live/">Mercenaries 2 demo explodes onto Xbox Live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Sep 2008 09:45:00 EST. Considering it came out in June, it's a little curious that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Activision/">Activision</a> is only now releasing a <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/09/08/demo-guitar-hero-aerosmith.aspx">demo</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/guitar-hero-aerosmith"><em>Guitar Hero: Aerosmith</em></a> to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/xblm">Xbox Live Marketplace</a>. Somehow, we get the feeling that pretty much anyone interested in <em>Guitar Hero: Aerosmith</em> already has it. If, somehow, you're interested in this game and have yet to try it out, go give it try. Oh, one last thing, the dashboard details are priceless: "Get a taste of Guitar Hero(R): Aerosmith - There's never been a band like them; there has never been a game like this." Really? <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar_Hero_(series)">Never</a>?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/08/guitar-hero-aerosmith-demo-walks-this-way/">Guitar Hero Aerosmith demo walks this way</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Sep 2008 13:00:00 EST. <div align="left">Over at Platform Nation there is a <em>very</em> interesting <a href="http://www.platformnation.com/2008/07/01/dreaming-of-dashboard-20/">article</a> about what could be done to improve the Xbox 360 dashboard, thus creating Dashboard 2.0. You can see a mock-up of the Marketplace blade above, including eye-popping images for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/XBLA/">XBLA</a> games. Even better, the games have user ratings and the prices are listed right on the front page, no need to click through to see how much a game costs. There are a number of other improvements, including the ability to hotkey areas you use often (XBLA, Marketplace, etc). The article goes into detail about where the current dashboard has problems and what can be done to address them (right down to cleaning up completely unused space). It's really a good read and we suggest you check it out. We can only hope that someone at Microsoft is paying attention.<br /><br />[Thanks Alex Fischer and <a href="http://www.geminiace.com/">Gemini Ace</a>. A demo for the ultra-violent <em>Ninja Gaiden II</em> is due out today for the approximately 14 people in Japan who own an Xbox 360. Chris Paladino of Micorosft's <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/user/Profile.aspx?UserID=19444">Gamercore blog</a> confirmed the news via <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=11375421&amp;postcount=688">NeoGAF</a> earlier this morning, adding, "Looking for details on rest of world, haven't found anything other than 'soon,'" followed by a colon and a capital P.<br /><br />Since March, the <em>NGII </em>page on Xbox.com had a message that said, "Get your hands on the free demo coming to Xbox LIVE Marketplace in May," but that was <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/05/27/ng2-xbox-com-page-updated-no-more-demo/">quietly removed</a> sometime this week. <em>Ninja Gaiden II</em> will paint the wall with blood in North America and Europe next week.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/05/29/japanese-xblm-to-get-ng2-demo-on-5-30/">X3F</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/30/ninja-gaiden-ii-demo-out-today-in-japan-rest-of-the-world-soon/">Ninja Gaiden II demo out today in Japan, rest of the world 'soon'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 May 2008 11:25:00 EST. It was made by Synetic, a company we've never heard of. It's based on a German TV series that we've also never heard of. Those things in and of themselves don't really mean much though. What we know is that it has cars and, presumably, said cars will crash. That's two points in the game's favor right there. Three points actually, considering the cars can explode. Wait, it also has a cheesy hard rawk soundtrack. That makes for a potential fourth point. Whether or not it's actually any fun is a quandary we'll leave up to you. Go grab it and tell us what you think.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/30/crash-time-demo-races-onto-xbox-live/">Crash Time demo races onto Xbox Live</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 30 May 2008 10:30:00 EST. We never forget a face. That explains why we nearly overlooked the charming fellow above, as his disturbing assemblage of teeth, eyes and wrinkles really stretches our definition of "face" to its very hideous limit. Apparently, we were supposed to meet him for a round of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/mass-effect"><em>Mass Effect</em></a> today, foiling his and his fellow Batarians' plan to toss an asteroid at an unsuspecting planet.<br /><br />If you feel like your galactic romp across BioWare's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/13/mass-effect-to-be-an-ea-franchise-for-a-very-long-time/">rich galaxy</a> is in need of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/21/seen-gdc-how-long-is-too-long-for-mass-effect/">extension</a>, the "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/06/mass-effect-dlc-to-bring-down-the-sky-on-march-10/">Bring Down the Sky</a>" <em>Mass Effect</em> add-on promises "approximately 90 minutes" of gameplay and 50 gamerscore points. It's available on the Xbox Live Marketplace now for $5, or 400 MS Points. Oh, and <strong>you can win a download code for it right now</strong>. <br />

We realize that a lot of crap gets dumped on Xbox Live Marketplace that we don't comment on. We used to notice it more, but mocking it is almost sort of futile now. But when someone sends along a tip to <em>alert </em>us that they've just sullied the Marketplace, we feel compelled to comment on it. So, here it goes. As seen above, Disruptive Media Publishers has just unleashed the "Hardcore Gamer Picture Pack," a name so ironic that Alanis Morissette just beat herself to death with a shoe.<br /><br />If you pony up the $1.25 for the Hardcore Game Picture Pack, we're officially not friends. We would honestly prefer you to get your Xbox Live Vision camera, and take a picture of your crotch and make it your gamerpic. If you burned a combination orphanage/puppy mill to the ground and dragged a generator to the scene so you could (using the Shroud of Turin as lens filter) take a picture of the flames with your Xbox Live Vision camera and made <em>that </em>your pic, we would be less offended.<br /><br />OK, we wanted to end on that line, but we had to mention the "Respawn" one. What does that even <em>mean</em>? That you're happy the game continues after you've been killed? Yes! We are too!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/new-gamerpics-are-a-teabag-full-of-insipidness/">New gamerpics are a teabag full of insipidness</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Mar 2008 16:30:00 EST. He was also clear about the fact that they "don't have anything specific to announce in terms of timeframes right now" regarding a Marketplace or a way to obtain DLC on the G4W platform. It's an interesting and welcomed idea, but wouldn't you think priority number one would be to get more developers on board to support G4W? We think that's where the effort should be focused.<br /><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/07/microsoft-toying-with-the-idea-of-a-games-for-windows-marketplac/">Microsoft toying with the idea of a Games for Windows Marketplace</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Mar 2008 11:30:00 EST. At CES today, Microsoft announced an expansion of its Xbox Live video offerings. ABC Television and MGM will both offer HD videos on the Marketplace. Coincidentally, these studios are exclusively aligned to Blu-ray. This agreement gives Xbox owners a chance to experience this content in HD as well.<br /><br />ABC Television Network, ABC Family, ABC News, Disney Channel and Toon Disney are all part of this new offering. More than 500 hours of content, in both standard definition and high definition, will be offered including ABC Television shows <em>Lost</em>, <em>Grey's Anatomy</em>, <em>Ugly Betty</em> and <em>Desperate Housewive</em>s. Past and current shows will be offered, as will archived ABC News broadcasts.<br /><br />MGM will offer a wide variety of movies, from the <em>Rocky</em> series to <em>Dances with Wolves</em>. Movies across all demographics will be available, including <em>Terminator</em>, <em>Silence of the Lambs</em>, <em>Legally Blonde</em>, <em>Barbershop</em> and <em>Agent Cody Banks</em>. <em>Platoon</em>, <em>Rain Man</em> and <em>The Usual Suspects</em> will also be available.<br /><br />Price and an exact launch date of this newly announced content have yet to be revealed. HD DVD may have gotten a serious death blow this week, but it appears Microsoft's on-demand offerings should more than satiate the HD film appetite of the Xbox fan.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/06/abc-television-and-mgm-brings-hd-content-to-xbox-marketplace/">ABC Television and MGM brings HD content to Xbox Marketplace</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 06 Jan 2008 21:55:00 EST. After a blatant <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/19/sensible-world-of-soccer-has-critical-bug-gets-pulled/">bug caused it to be yanked</a> from the Xbox Live Marketplace, <em>Sensible World of Soccer</em> has returned sans obvious technical faults. This version of the footy classic still has the problem of us being completely rubbish at it, but we can't lay the blame at the feet of the developers. They'd just boot it into our obviously unguarded net.<br /><br />If you were enjoying the previous release of Codemasters' kicker despite the creepy crawlies in the code, you're advised to delete the game from your Xbox 360 hard drive and download it again. <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/12/21/sensible-world-of-soccer-now-available-for-download.aspx">Major Nelson</a> assures us that you won't be charged if you've already paid for it -- and if not, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/swos">swos</a> never your concern anyway.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/21/sensible-world-of-soccer-fixed-back-on-xbla/">Sensible World of Soccer fixed, back on XBLA</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Dec 2007 16:25:00 EST. After a long build-up, <span style="font-style: italic;">Sensible World of Soccer</span> rushed onto the Xbox Live Marketplace field this morning and promptly fell on its face. (Thanks to West Ham's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/30/english-soccer-team-loses-player-blames-video-games/">Robert Green</a> for the visual aid.) The beloved soccer game apparently suffered from a bug that would sign players out of Live as soon as it started up, and wouldn't sign them back in until they returned to the dashboard. After the <a href="http://community.codemasters.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243893">forums erupted</a> on Codemasters' official site, the game was pulled from Marketplace.<br /><br />There's currently no announced timetable for its return, but we'll update this post as soon as we hear something new. In the meantime, Major Nelson <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/12/19/arcade-sensible-world-of-soccer.aspx">has the lowdown</a> on all the "anonymous" information your game will collect on you to present you with <span style="font-style: italic;">the very finest</span> in in-game advertising. ... Be honest now. It's not like you have anything better to do than to <a href="http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&amp;cid=13059">stare</a> at a series of polygonal environments and pretend you're dashing through them, mowing down multicolored cyborgs and kidnapping defenseless flags. In the gallery below you'll find images depicting the three environments comprising <em>Halo 3</em>'s "<a href="http://about.joystiq.com/2007/11/19/halo-3-heroic-map-pack-available-on-dec-11/">Heroic Map Pack</a>," which arrives on the Xbox Live Marketplace on Dec. 11th. It'll set you back 800 MS Points ($10) unless you're the patient and/or apathetic type, in which case it'll cost you <em>nothing</em> early next year. But then, we already lost the apathetic readers at the headline.<br /><br />If you've made it this far (kudos to you for putting up with an unreasonable amount of filler nonsense), you'll want to be reminded about those three new maps again: "Rat's Nest," an indoor area rife with vehicles! "Standoff," a valley overshadowed by a large melancholy dish who's always staring off into space! "Foundry," a level <em>you</em> get to strategically clutter up (sometimes with <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/12/06/heroic-map-pack-brings-back-the-soccer-ball/">soccer balls</a>) in Forge! The constant use of exclamation marks is unnecessary and annoying!<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/">Halo 3 - Heroic Map Pack</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/#521701"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/h3_dlc_standoff_environment-03-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/#521700"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/h3_dlc_standoff_environment-02-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/#521699"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/h3_dlc_standoff_environment-01-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/#521691"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/h3_dlc_standoff_3rdperson-03-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/halo-3-heroic-map-pack/#521690"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/12/h3_dlc_standoff_3rdperson-02-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/12/05/halo-3-heroic-map-pack-image-overload/">X3F</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/06/gaze-at-halo-3-heroic-map-pack-pack-images/">Gaze at Halo 3 'Heroic Map Pack' images</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Dec 2007 20:30:00 EST. <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BeautifulKatamari/">Beautiful Katamari</a></em>'s demo just <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/08/14/demo-beautiful-katamari.aspx">landed</a> on Marketplace and has been rolling up a storm. At first, it was available on a recent OXM demo disc, but now it is available for the <strike>whole world</strike> Canada, America, and Mexico (read: North America) to download. It weighs in at just under 435 MB, so it's not going to break the disk space bank, although X3F reader Magic Whiskey tells us that it's also on the short side, but enough to get the premise of the game. Give it a download and tell us what you think.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/14/katamari-demo-rolls-up-get-it-marketplace/">Katamari demo rolls up (get it?!)
