Series creator Hideo Kojima announced <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance"><em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em></a> is coming to the PC. Speaking on his HideRadio podcast, Kojima revealed the upcoming port. The news was then confirmed by Platinum Games creative producer Jean Pierre Kellams.<br />

<a href="http://joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance"><em>Metal Gear Rising's</em></a> Blade Wolf character will take center stage on May 14 in North America, and will probably take a few nerve centers while he's at it, given the usual flow of that game's action. The Blade Wolf DLC will be released on PSN in North America and Xbox Live in North America and Europe that day, with a European PS3 release following the next day.<br />
<br />
Don't expect a buddy comedy between Blade Wolf (formal name: LQ-84i) and Raiden; the story takes place before the two cyborgs face off, with Blade Wolf still working under Mistral. You probably didn't even think about what his life was like before he started yelling "COMBINATION ATTACK" at Raiden, but now you'll know.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/">Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (Blade Wolf DLC)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/#5849631"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/mgr-bladewolf-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/#5849632"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/mgr-bladewolf-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/#5849633"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/mgr-bladewolf-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/#5849634"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/mgr-bladewolf-04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-blade-wolf-dlc/#5849635"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/mgr-bladewolf-05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/30/fetch-metal-gear-risings-blade-wolf-dlc-starting-may-14/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Fetch Metal Gear Rising's Blade Wolf DLC starting May 14</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/30/fetch-metal-gear-risings-blade-wolf-dlc-starting-may-14/">Fetch Metal Gear Rising's Blade Wolf DLC starting May 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Apr 2013 14:00:00 EST. It's due in Japan on May 9, Konami announced today, which suggests it won't make the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/13/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-gets-jetstream-blade-wolf-dlc-in/">April date</a> originally given for the North American release.<br /><br />The preceding Jetstream Sam DLC was met with complaints that it wasn't actually that different from the base game. We're holding out hope that this new pack will be a more varied experience - after all, Blade Wolf is much less similar to Raiden than Sam was, what with the four legs and all.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/26/metal-gear-risings-blade-wolf-dlc-out-in-japan-may-9/">Metal Gear Rising's Blade Wolf DLC out in Japan May 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 26 Apr 2013 11:00:00 EST. The first to impact your irises is the story-continuing 'Awakened' DLC for <em>Dead Space 3</em>, and it's <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-CA/Product/Dead-Space-3-Awakened/704f6694-07d8-4615-85cc-649cd95092e8">available now on XBLA</a> for 800 MSP. It hits PSN and PC later today, priced $9.99.<br /><br />Also due on PSN later today are the 30 additional VR missions for <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em>, and they're completely free until April 3. In an odd twist, the DLC is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/06/metal-gear-risings-ps3-exclusive-dlc-coming-march-12/">exclusive</a> to PS3 in the US and Canada for the time being, but outside those regions it's <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/VR-Mission-Expansion/ba7fb2de-8f1b-4d6d-af11-3ff2f751092d">available now on XBLA</a> for 240 MSP - a slice of curious console exclusivity to get the morning started.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/12/psa-dead-space-3-awakened-dlc-mgr-revengeance-vr-missions/">PSA: Dead Space 3 'Awakened' DLC, MGR: Revengeance 'VR Missions' out today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 12 Mar 2013 08:00:00 EST. New DLC announced by developer Platinum Games brings the insanity into uncomfortable new levels.<br /><br />For example, "VR19: Unarmed Combat Training" contains side-scrolling, unarmed brawling gameplay. That's part of 30 new VR missions, including one set in a dark room. These are the PS3-exclusive missions we'll be getting in North America.<br /><br />"Soul of the Snake" is a special wooden sword ... that speaks in Solid Snake's voice when used. "Passionate feelings are alive and well for the cardboard," according to the Google Translation of <a href="http://www.platinumgames.co.jp/mgr/blog/221/">Platinum's post</a>. We'd translate it more naturally, but that's too wonderful to change.<br /><br />The second announced DLC puts you in the shoes of enemy cyborg, and sneering jerk, Jetstream Sam. And the third DLC lets you play as LQ-84i ... the robot dog. Platinum didn't offer a timeframe for these, except for the DLC missions due in Japan in April, and noted that all the images were of content currently under development. All we know is that Platinum won't be accused of saving cut content from the main game for DLC, since we don't know where that "and now you're the Blood Wolf" chapter would have fit in.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/metal-gear-rising-dlc-includes-robot-dog-missions-solid-snake-a/">Metal Gear Rising DLC includes robot dog missions, Solid Snake as a sword</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2013 18:00:00 EST. It's the first week of the year to see two major releases go head to head, and while <em>Crysis 3</em> had PC sales in its corner, digital purchases don't count towards Chart-Track's data.<br /><br />Unsurprisingly given the series' roots, the PS3 was the lead platform for <em>MGR: Revengeance</em>, coming in at 61 percent. Xbox 360 sales dominated <em>Crysis 3</em>'s retail performance with 57 percent of the share.<br /><br /><em>Dead Space 3</em> made it three weeks in the top ten, dropping to sixth, while last week's leader, <em>Aliens: Colonial Marines</em>, pipped the space horror to fifth place. Meanwhile, early 2013 chart successes <em>Ni no Kuni</em> and <em>DmC: Devil May Cry</em> left the top 40 altogether.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/crysis-3-pips-metal-gear-rising-revengeance-to-top-this-weeks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Crysis 3 pips Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to top this week's UK charts</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/crysis-3-pips-metal-gear-rising-revengeance-to-top-this-weeks/">Crysis 3 pips Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to top this week's UK charts</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2013 08:00:00 EST. While we appreciate Luddy's fondness for the game, the very thought of "seriously sexed up Fruit Ninja fan-fiction" is, frankly, more than a bit scary to us. Then again, sometimes love should be... terrifying.<br /><br />Moving on from fan-fiction concerns, other reviewers also had their say on <em>Rising</em>'s unusual brand of Metal Gear. Here's a brief slice of their thoughts:<br /><ul> <li> <a href="http://www.polygon.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance/6447">Polygon</a> <strong>(90/100)</strong>: "<span>Platinum Games has done something incredibly rare: honoring a beloved series while successfully broadening its reach into a whole new genre."</span></li> <li> <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-19-metal-gear-rising-revengeance-review">Eurogamer</a> <strong>(90/100)</strong>: "<span>If <em>Revengeance</em> didn't have camera issues this would be the easiest 10 I've ever given. As things stand it's still brilliant, staking out new territory in the genre and adapting certain Metal Gear characteristics so well that it makes the competition look outrageously bad. This is simply the ultimate one-man show, worth its ticket price many times over, an experience that improves exponentially as it gets faster and as you get better."</span></li> <li> <a href="http://www.giantbomb.com/reviews/metal-gear-rising-review/1900-560/">Giant Bomb</a> <strong>(80/100)</strong>: "A thrilling and engaging experience. The swordplay is fun, and it's really fascinating to see the different spots where either Kojima's or Platinum's signature styles shine through. It also has a wild final confrontation that shows elements of both."</li> <li> <a href="http://www.gameinformer.com/games/metal_gear_rising_revengeance/b/ps3/archive/2013/02/19/metalgearrisingrevengeancereview.aspx">Game Informer</a> <strong>(78/100)</strong>: "<span>If you have any hopes for this story building on Metal Gear lore or giving you a chance to reconnect with characters you care about, you will be disappointed. Maniacal is the best way to play this cutting game, dashing into gunfire and shoving your sword through any obstacle, no matter its size or perceived deadliness. The supporting characters occasionally plead for planning, stealth, restraint - hesitation - but their calls come across as denial against the true nature of <em>Revengeance</em>. They're right in the middle of some seriously sexed up Fruit Ninja fan-fiction.<br /><br />The silly portmanteau is the prelude to a starring role for Raiden, the formerly feeble stand-in for Snake in <em>Metal Gear Solid 2</em>. Following the events of <em>Metal Gear Solid 4</em>, which turned him into a twirling killing machine and redeemed him in the eyes of bros everywhere, the fair-haired cyborg works for a protection outfit called Maverick Security Consulting. Their first presidential client in <em>Revengeance</em> is butchered and thrown off a moving train, so I wouldn't recommend them.<br /><br />After an ignominious defeat, Raiden's body is rebuilt with augmented strength, a pristine cyber-butt and a critical reliance on electrolytes, which must be absorbed from glowing enemy spines (unnaturally). It sounds gruesome, but extracting power cords in battle is a clinical process in the mind, and a brilliant hook for an action game.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/19/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-review-its-just-a-flesh-wound/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance review: It's just a flesh wound</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/19/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-review-its-just-a-flesh-wound/">Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance review: It's just a flesh wound</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Feb 2013 04:40:00 EST. Japanese mag Dengeki PlayStation (via <a href="http://www.siliconera.com/2013/01/29/metal-gear-rising-revengance-will-have-vr-missions-as-dlc/">Siliconera</a>) published the news, noting additional content that will revolve around some of the game's supporting cast.<br /><br />VR missions are an apt addition to the <em>Metal Gear</em> series, being included on-disc in the original <em>Metal Gear Solid</em> and receiving top billing in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid#Integral_and_VR_Missions"><em>Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions</em></a> here in North America.<br /><br />If you'd like to undertake your own VR mission, a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/15/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-demo-hits-jan-22/">demo</a> for <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em> is available right now, free for Gold subscribers on Xbox Live and for all PlayStation Network users. It's not virtual reality, but if you sit way close to the TV it's <em>kind</em> of similar.<br /><br /><em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em> launches on February 19 in North America, February 21 and February 22 across Europe and the UK, respectively.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/30/report-metal-gear-rising-revengeance-vr-missions-side-charact/">Report: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance VR missions, side character DLC inbound</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 30 Jan 2013 19:00:00 EST. Specifically, Kojima would have preferred that <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance"><em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em></a> star series mainstay cyborg ninja <a href="http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Gray_Fox">Gray Fox</a>, rather than Raiden.<br /><br />"It was my staff in Kojima Productions that insisted on Raiden, and I respected their idea," Kojima said. "In my personal opinion, I wanted to go for Frank Jaegar or Gray Fox. But if we had gone with that, I would have had to write the script and then be really committed to creating the game."<br /><br />In the end, passing the torch of crafting Metal Gear's universe to the next generation of developers was of greater importance than ensuring Gray Fox as the star. "I want to pass game development to the younger generation in my team, and have been trying to do so for quite some time. Before I never could give complete responsibilities for other games, but for <em>Revengeance</em>, they are fully in control. Besides, if I had created the game and directed it, it wouldn't have been this game."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/19/kojima-originally-envisioned-gray-fox-as-the-star-of-metal-gear/">Kojima originally envisioned Gray Fox as the star of Metal Gear Rising</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 19 Jan 2013 13:30:00 EST. Case in point: the bosses are still total windbags.<br /><br />In this new trailer, we see a collection of cyborg monstrosities deliver monologues at Raiden in Japanese, before rearranging their bodies into various kill modes. There's a bunch of high-speed combat as well, reminding us that this is <em>still</em> a different game. But if you come to Metal Gear for the dialogue, it looks like you still have something to look forward to.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/18/this-metal-gear-rising-trailer-is-boss/">This Metal Gear Rising trailer is boss</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 18 Jan 2013 13:00:00 EST. The demo was previously (and currently) <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/19/zone-of-the-enders-hd-collection-out-october-30-with-metal-gear/">included</a> with <em>Zone of the Enders HD Collection</em>, so if you absolutely can't wait to cut everything using precisely lined up slashes, you can go pick that up.<br /><br />What you can't do is just download the demo from the Japanese PlayStation Network. We tried that, only to discover that - for the first time in our experience - the demo is region-locked.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/13/metal-gear-rising-demo-downloadable-in-the-west-next-month/">Metal Gear Rising demo downloadable in the West next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Dec 2012 17:30:00 EST. So when Joystiq sat down to chat with them, we only had one important question: How'd it go?<br /><br />Both sides were unsure of the partnership when it began. Korekado said that "the challenge for us was the worry about what kind of game would this end up being," and Inaba told us that Platinum wasn't sure about taking over for Kojima's series on this iteration. But now that all is said and done, both sides also say they not only had a great time, but they'd do it again. "We could not have done that without Platinum Games' expertise, it would not have happened," said Korekado. "So of course, this tag team, we'd love to do it again."<br /><br />Inaba was even more adamant about the two studios working together in the future. "From our side, it would be a waste to not do this again. We made a great game, and we'd love to do it again," he said. He agreed that when the project started, both teams were reticent about joining forces. "But after working together on the game for a while, they were both able to learn from each other and grow as people and as developers. And we feel that's a plus. Moving forward as a team, we'd love to do it again, no doubt." Obviously, nothing's been announced yet, and the goal right now is to get <em>Rising</em> in the public's hands. But it sounds like Platinum and Kojima are ready to make more <em>Metal Gear</em> music together in the future.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/07/platinum-and-kojipro-on-partnership-wed-love-to-do-it-again/">Platinum and KojiPro on partnership: 'We'd love to do it again'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Dec 2012 15:00:00 EST. It means that when you find one tool useful for one task, you'll then start applying that tool to other tasks, even if those tasks have tools better suited for the job.<br /><br />Raiden, in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengance"><em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em></a>, carries a sword as his only tool, and as swords go, it's a nice one. It crackles with a kind of blue electricity, and it can cut through almost every available object in the world, from barrels and crates to palm trees and iron fences.<br /><br />And with such a tool in his grasp, it's not hard to see why Raiden would fall prey to the law of the instrument. Cutting is his currency, and in this Metal Gear spin-off title, Platinum Games and Kojima Productions have sent Raiden on a spending spree.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/">Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (12/7/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/#5485114"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/mgrrisingrev016_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/#5485115"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/mgrrisingrev006_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/#5485116"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/mgrrisingrev007_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/#5485117"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/mgrrisingrev008_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-12-7-12/#5485118"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/12/mgrrisingrev009_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/07/solid-slicing-action-in-metal-gear-rising-revengeance/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Solid slicing action in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/07/solid-slicing-action-in-metal-gear-rising-revengeance/">Solid slicing action in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Dec 2012 04:00:00 EST. The easiest to acquire is the <a href="http://www.konami.jp/mgr/jp/demo.html">demo</a>, which will be available on the Japanese PlayStation Store on December 13 for those who don't already have it from the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/19/zone-of-the-enders-hd-collection-out-october-30-with-metal-gear/"><em>Zone of the Enders HD Collection</em></a>. Getting that is as simple as creating a Japanese PSN account, or waiting for the inevitable western release.<br /><br />The special edition <a href="http://www.jp.playstation.com/ps3/hardware/vt066j1.html">Metal Gear Rising PS3</a> will be a bit harder to get your hands on. The 250GB system, with a special controller, copy of the game, and a few exclusive downloads, will retail in Japan for &yen;31,960 ($390), but it'll likely more to import one.<br /><br />It's easiest of all to watch the new Japanese trailer, featuring lots of ninja technique demonstrations. What are you, some kinda <em>poor</em>? <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/gamestop">GameStop</a> is offering to double your wardrobe with the Cyborg Ninja costume - if you pre-order <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/metal-gear-rising-revengeance"><em>Metal Gear Rising Revengeace</em></a>.<br /><br />The GameStop-exclusive skin (for now, anyway) is modeled after the Cyborg Ninja suit worn by Frank Jaeger (AKA Gray Fox) in the original <em>Metal Gear Solid</em>. Not only does the ensemble have nostalgia going for it, there's also the benefit of not being able to see Raiden's face for an entire video game - you know, in case <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctP1Jso4G30#t=27s">you've seen enough of Raiden's skin</a> to last a lifetime. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/21/metal-gear-rising-revengeance-pre-order-at-gamestop-lets-you-dre/">Metal Gear Rising Revengeance pre-order at GameStop lets you dress up like Gray Fox</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 21 Nov 2012 20:15:00 EST. The &yen;9,980 <a href="http://www.konamistyle.jp/item/72055">Premium Package</a> comes with a special steelbook, a soundtrack, an artbook by art director Yoji Shinkawa, and a fun little figure of an enemy that can break into two pieces and stick together magnetically, so you can make it appear to be cut up as if by a sword.<br /><br />The &yen;12,980 Premium Package Konamistyle version throws in a Raiden figurine. Why didn't Snake ever think of that?<br /><br />Along with this trailer, the <a href="http://www.konami.jp/mgr/jp/">Japanese website</a> reveals that the game will be released as both a retail game and a PSN download in that region. Get ready for serious deja vu.<br /><br /><em>Zone of the Enders HD Collection</em>, which features graphically improved versions of both <em>Zone of the Enders</em> and its sequel, will <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/01/early-access-metal-gear-rising-demo-included-with-zone-of-the-en/">come with a demo</a> of Raiden's next appearance, <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance</em>, upon its newly announced October 30 release date on Xbox 360 and PS3. The demo will be available with the retail collection (and released later on its own), so keep that in mind if you're weighing the decision between packaged and digital versions.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/19/zone-of-the-enders-hd-collection-out-october-30-with-metal-gear/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Zone of the Enders HD Collection out October 30, with Metal Gear Rising demo</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/19/zone-of-the-enders-hd-collection-out-october-30-with-metal-gear/">Zone of the Enders HD Collection out October 30, with Metal Gear Rising demo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Sep 2012 14:00:00 EST. Sadly, the 360 version of <em>Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/12/metal-gear-rising-revengeances-xbox-360-version-cancelled-in-j/">isn't</a> going to make it.<br /><br />The PS3 version remains very much alive and kicking and joins <em>Silent Hill: Book of Memories</em>, <em>Zone of the Enders HD</em>, and <em>Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops </em>as the publisher's highlights. There's no sign of newcomer <em>Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes</em> at the moment.<br /><br />The Tokyo Game Show starts next week, running through September 20-23.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/12/konami-reveals-tokyo-game-show-line-up-no-ground-zeroes-yet/">Konami reveals Tokyo Game Show lineup, no Ground Zeroes yet</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Sep 2012 10:45:00 EST. Kojima Productions announced the news today via its website. There the company apologized for the cancellation but didn't give any reasons for it. The 360 version, as Konami confirmed to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-09-12-konami-confirms-xbox-360-version-of-metal-gear-rising-revengeance-still-on-for-the-west">Eurogamer</a>, remains scheduled for release outside of Japan.<br /><br />It's odd to reflect on a game being cancelled for the platform it was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/metal-gear-solid-rising-coming-to-xbox-360/">first announced on</a>, but the news isn't surprising given the 360's poor sales in Japan since then. As our latest <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/09/stiq-figures-august-27-september-2-tabletop-gaming-edition/">Stiq Figures</a> show, the console only shifted 875 copies last week compared to the PS3's 12,433. Also, while the PS3 version of <em>Metal Gear Solid HD Collection </em>entered Japanese charts in fifth <a href="http://gamasutra.com/view/news/128460/Skyward_Sword_Tops_Japanese_Charts_While_3DS_Sales_Continue_To_Rise.php#.UFBYrbJlSqI">last November</a>, the Xbox 360 version didn't even register in the top 20. While we understand where Konami's coming from, the cancellation of such a high-profile game can't help the console's chances in Japan one bit.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/12/metal-gear-rising-revengeances-xbox-360-version-cancelled-in-j/">Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's Xbox 360 version cancelled in Japan</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Sep 2012 09:00:00 EST.
