If you pre-order one of the selected Xbox 360 games, you get 1600 Microsoft Points for free. That's $20 of Xbox Live content with a $60 pre-order, and by our maths that's worth a gander.

The 10 games included in the deal are Grand Theft Auto 5, BioShock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Lost Planet 3, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Crysis 3, Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, Dead Space 3, and South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The offer is valid until April 6, or when a game is released - as it's no longer a pre-order then, silly. In case you're about to break open the piggy bank, you should know there's a three-per-customer limit,
Microsoft Store Xbox 360 game pre-orders net free 1600 MSP originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 18 Jan 2013 11:00:00 EST. The bundle, which would cost $100 up front and $15 a month afterwards, includes a Kinect, Xbox Live Gold service, a two-year warranty and possibly various types of streaming content. The package deal may go on sale as early as next week at Microsoft's various retail locations across the country.

Also like modern cell phone plans, an early termination fee would be associated with the service contract and levied against those who wish to leave their commitments early. Those who ride the entire contract out would end up paying roughly $460 for the bundle and its associated years of service. We've reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update as this story develops.

Update: Microsoft issued Joystiq the following statement: "We haven't made any announcements and we don't comment on rumor or speculation."
Rumor: Xbox 360 getting $100, contract-subsidized Kinect bundle next week originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 02 May 2012 11:30:00 EST. The Microsoft Store's official Twitter account is inviting folks to try Kinect at its stores "nationwide," which sounds a lot more impressive before the realization hits that there are only four locations in the entire country. The MS Twitter account also notes that Kinectimals will be shown off this weekend.

Anyway, if you live near one of the four stores found in the western part of the continent, go check out the new tech that'll be available this November. If you don't live close to a store, save that gas money until we get an idea of how much Kinect will actually cost.
Yet another retailer has listed the Kinect add-on for the Xbox 360 at a price of $149.99, but this time, it's a little different: the price is on Microsoft's own site. Over on the Microsoft Store, the "Kinect Sensor for Xbox 360" is clearly listed (and available for preorder on November 4) at $149.99. We've screencapped the image above, just in case it gets removed in the future.

Of course, this still doesn't confirm the price for certain -- the retail side may have no more inside information from the company than any other retailer does, and may be simply listing what it expects the price to be. Or, the price may have gone live early accidentally, pending an official announcement. Either way, throw another piece of evidence on the pile for a $149.99 price on Microsoft's controller-free gaming system.

Though the recently opened Microsoft Store in Scottsdale, Arizona contains all the electronic doodads and software you'd expect to find in a Microsoft-branded retailer, there's one pleasant surprise waiting there for PC gaming enthusiasts. That VideoGame Blog reports that kiosks are distributed throughout the store which allow shoppers to order a Games for Windows title, leave their name with a customer service representative, then have the game, case, insert and other accouterments printed on the spot in under four minutes.

We imagine the whole process is similar to the teddy synthesis featured in Build-a-Bear Workshops, only without all the haunting, ever-gurgling vats of stuffed animal guts featured prominently on the sales floor.
Microsoft Stores printing PC games on location originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 23 Oct 2009 16:00:00 EST. Even if you're not in the market for a Surface or a Zune, it might be worth stopping by the newly opened first Microsoft Store in Scottsdale, Arizona. That's where you'll be able to play in the gaming section, which sports a ocular-orb-overloading 93-inch screen. Which is pretty good. If you like big screens.

If you look really hard, we'll bet you might even find a copy or two of Windows 7. Maybe.
First Microsoft store opens grandly with giant TV originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 22 Oct 2009 14:45:00 EST.
