Developer Andrew "Redigit" Spinks recently took to the <a href="http://www.terrariaonline.com/threads/its-been-a-while-since-i-posted-a-spoiler.97577/">Terraria Online forums</a> to tease an upcoming update. He posted two images of the update, along with another image on Facebook. The images depict some lovely waterfalls and clouds, and one forum goer points out what may be a new weapon.<br /><br />According to Redigit, there are both regular clouds and rain clouds, and both can be placed anywhere and mined. We're not really sure what you could make with cloud ore, but there you go. The update is slated to arrive in the "next few months.<span><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-pc-update/">Terraria (PC Update)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-pc-update/#5790377"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/2444548654734474450474950752n_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-pc-update/#5790378"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/floatingislandssmall_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-pc-update/#5790379"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/04/junglewaterfalls_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></span>"<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/04/terraria-pc-update-to-add-pretty-waterfalls-clouds/">Terraria PC update to add pretty waterfalls, clouds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 04 Apr 2013 14:30:00 EST. Developed by Engine Software and published 505 Games, the console version of <em>Terraria</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/02/terraria-trailer-teases-new-console-content/">features fresh content</a>, including a new big bad dubbed Ocram as well as additional enemies, weapons, pets and inventory items, and is <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/25/terraria-comes-to-consoles-in-february-dusts-off-this-new-conte/">scheduled to arrive</a> at "the end of February or early March," according to 505 Games community manager Logan Rosenstein.<br /><br />The console version's biggest addition, however, is the ability to play <em>Terraria</em> with a controller. It's initially hard to picture playing <em>Terraria </em>without the combination of a mouse and keyboard. The basic movement controls are simple enough, but inventory management, mining, and construction are all governed by a pointer-based interface that is best left for a mouse to handle. The gamepad controls developed for the port aim to offer the best of both worlds.<br /><br />"The biggest challenge [the dev team faced] was the controls," Rosenstein said of the porting process. "The PC version is so heavily reliant on the keyboard and mouse, so the dev team spent a lot of time and a lot of effort working on the controls. They did several different layouts and several different practice runs."<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/">Terraria (02/06/12)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622431"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622432"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622433"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622434"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/terraria-02-06-12/#5622435"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/02/terraria5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/molding-and-shaping-terrarias-world-with-twin-sticks/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Molding and shaping Terraria's world with twin sticks</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/06/molding-and-shaping-terrarias-world-with-twin-sticks/">Molding and shaping Terraria's world with twin sticks</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 06 Feb 2013 20:30:00 EST. It's always been my dream to have as many people as possible know and enjoy <em>Terraria</em> as much as I have, and this is another big step in that direction."<br /><br />The news of a console release of the 2011 indie game was first disclosed on its <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TerrariaOfficial">Facebook</a> page, after teasing fans yesterday with word of a big reveal. The game comes to XBLA and PSN early next year.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/11/terraria-coming-to-xbla-psn-early-2013-1-6-million-sold-on-pc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Terraria coming to XBLA/PSN early 2013, 1.6 million sold on PC</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/11/terraria-coming-to-xbla-psn-early-2013-1-6-million-sold-on-pc/">Terraria coming to XBLA/PSN early 2013, 1.6 million sold on PC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 11 Sep 2012 10:30:00 EST. Okay, okay, it's also possible that the Merge Games-published "Collector's Edition" of the Re-Logic-developed 2D indie hit is popular enough to warrant a version made especially for superfans, but we much prefer the concept of a board meeting to discuss a gradually disappearing group of people.<br /><br />Anyway, the collector's edition of <em>Terraria</em> will run EU residents &pound;19.95 (&euro;23.80/$31.30) when it arrives at retailers on March 16, and will come packed with "an exclusive in-game item, a poster, a key ring, and trading cards." That's about $20 more than the digital copy costs you on Steam right this minute -- but does that contain the adorable little pickaxe keychain (seen after the break)? Yeah, <em>we didn't think so</em>.<br /><br />It's unclear if the collector's version of <em>Terraria</em> will arrive in North America or Asia, but we've asked Merge Games for clarification.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/terraria-goes-retail-in-eu-with-collectors-edition-on-march-1/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Terraria goes retail in EU with 'Collector's Edition' on March 16</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/26/terraria-goes-retail-in-eu-with-collectors-edition-on-march-1/">Terraria goes retail in EU with 'Collector's Edition' on March 16</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 26 Jan 2012 23:59:00 EST.
