Whether you're in the mood for shooting or <em>shooting</em>, Steam and Impulse have your back this weekend. Active now, Steam's offering <em>Assassin's Creed</em>, <em>Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood</em>, <em>Far Cry 2</em> and Rainbow<em> Six Vegas 2</em> in a bargain $3 bundle; while Impulse has <em>Medal of Honor </em>for $15.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/05/steam-has-ubisoft-hits-on-sale-this-weekend-impulse-has-medal-o/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Steam has Ubisoft hits on sale this weekend; Impulse has Medal of Honor</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/05/steam-has-ubisoft-hits-on-sale-this-weekend-impulse-has-medal-o/">Steam has Ubisoft hits on sale this weekend; Impulse has Medal of Honor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 05 Mar 2011 09:30:00 EST. Some unsettling news now for fans of convenience: That Xbox Live Games on Demand title you just bought may not work with its retail counterpart. Specifically, <a href="http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/11/24/microsoft-selling-games-on-demand-with-compatibility-issues/">CrunchGear</a> reports that the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/06/call-of-duty-3-rainbow-six-vegas-2-added-to-games-on-demand/">On Demand version of <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em></a> is incompatible with the retail version. When attempting to play a cooperative session over Xbox Live, the game returned an error asking that players insert the <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> disc. This error occurred regardless of who hosted the match.<br />
<br />
A call made to customer support later revealed that this is apparently a problem with several older titles. Additionally, users on the <em>LEGO Rock Band</em> forum report that the On Demand version of the title <a href="http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?207259-LRB-on-Xbox-360-Games-on-Demand-marketplace-Export">doesn't allow songs to be exported</a> to other versions of <em>Rock Band</em>. This is understandable given that On Demand games have no manual (and thus no export code), though Harmonix notes it is "looking into" the issue.<br />
<br />
The moral of the story, as noted by <a href="http://www.co-optimus.com/article/5013/xbox-live-on-demand-games-demand-compatibility.html">Co-Optimus</a>: If you're planning to pick up an XBL On Demand title in order to play online with someone that has the retail version, do some research first.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/30/xbl-games-on-demand-may-be-incompatible-with-retail-versions/">XBL Games on Demand may be incompatible with retail versions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 30 Nov 2010 14:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2009/10/06/xbox-360-games-on-demand-cod3-and-rsv2.aspx">Major Nelson</a> brings word that the troops of <em>Call of Duty 3</em> and the elite squad of <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> have infiltrated Xbox Live's "Games on Demand." Both titles go for $30 each in the US, but check your respective region for pricing.<br /><br />We should note that both titles cost $30 <em>new</em> from a store -- even less for those who find a used copy. Keep that in mind while you're trying to understand how price parity exists when there's no disc, box, shipping or manufacturing involved. <br /><br /><a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802415607e1?of=7&amp;cid=majornelson&amp;partner=majornelson">Add Call Of Duty 3 to your queue</a><br />

One being free <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/07/03/tom-clancy-s-rainbow-six-vegas-2-gift-pack-dlc-free.aspx"><em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> DLC</a>, the other being free <a href="http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/07/03/gh-iii-quot-top-gun-anthem-quot-free.aspx"><em>Guitar Hero III</em> DLC</a>. All free, free, free!<br /><br />The <em>RSV2 </em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/06/27/ubi-gives-fans-rainbow-six-vegas-2-fan-pack-dlc/">"Gift Pack DLC"</a> (no longer called the "Fan Pack") includes a set of three re-releases of the multiplayer maps Calypso Casino, Murdertown and CQB Training but now re-lit for a "darker" gaming experience. Today's free <em>GHIII </em>DLC is the July Fourth inspired <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/01/ghiiis-july-4th-surpise-free-top-gun-dlc/">"Top Gun Anthem" track</a> of which we don't believe Tom Cruise will make an appearance in or would even support. <div align="left"> Ubisoft will put out a free Fan Pack for the tactical FPS game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rainbow-six-vegas-2"><em>Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em></a> according to their <a href="http://rainbowsixgame.us.ubi.com/news.php">website</a>, and you can download this via PSN starting in July. It will introduce a new gameplay option named High Stakes, which makes the game much more difficult -- radars, aim assistance and health regeneration are all out the window. Ammunition will be scarce and accuracy during moving will be lower. <br /><br />Furthermore, there will be three remixed levels: Calypso Casino of the original <em>Rainbow Six Vegas</em>, dark Murdertown and dark CQB Training. Despite vowing to "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-dev-we-will-never-go-back-to-vegas/">never go back to Vegas</a>," Ubisoft is still more than willing to expand the gambler's paradise from afar via downloadable content. Terrorists vs. bandits (some one-armed, others well-armed) showdown, <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em>, will be getting a free "Fan Pack" on Xbox Live, PSN and Ubisoft's website in July, sure to bring a smile to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/rainbow-six-vegas-2-sells-two-million-worldwide-ubi-raising-fis/">two million</a> or so people who purchased the game.<br /><br />The download not only adds three new maps -- the re-lit "Murdertown" and "CQB Training," as well as "Calypso Casino" -- but new multiplayer ranks and several tweaks to weapons, gadgets and other aspects of the game. Lightning Deals will be: 10AM <em>Scene It?</em>, 2PM <em>Monster Jam</em> and 6PM <em>Frontlines: FoW</em>.<br /><br />Heads up fellow Xbox 360 shoppers. Today, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27">Amazon.com</a> is holding Gold Box and Lightning Round deals that are all Xbox 360 game related. That means that today at 6AM, 10AM, 2PM and 6PM pacific they'll be announcing new (and limited) 360 gaming deals. Currently, they have <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Modern-Warfare-Game/dp/B0016B28Y8/ref=xs_gb_20_center-2_rw_uk_20228?%5Fencoding=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_p=305207801&amp;pf_rd_s=right-1&amp;pf_rd_t=701&amp;pf_rd_i=20&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0S596WRPNP2KD8F5GVGF"><em>Call of Duty 4: GOTY Edition</em></a> for $40 as part of their day long Gold Box and are selling <em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Six-Vegas-Limited/dp/B0012RZGVI/ref=xs_gb_la_A2NOJ7QD5O1HZQ?%5Fencoding=UTF8&amp;m=ATVPDKIKX0DER">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Limited Edition</a> </em>for $30 as their 6AM Lightning Round offer. Surprising no one more than ourselves, several members of the staff have been spending loads of quality time with <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Rainbow-Six-Vegas-2/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2</a></em>, so it brought us plenty of joy to see that Ubisoft recently released a title update for the 360 version of the game. No, most aren't fixes to our beloved co-op, but what does it really need? More radical? Our pants are quite soiled enough, thank you very much.<br /><br />Those of you who prefer multiplayer matches can expect faster weapon switching, faster respawns and bevy of other changes that you can <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1991064316/m/5001001456">check out here</a>. And if you play on the PS3, don't worry: A similar patch is in the works for you as well.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/24/rainbow-six-vegas-2-gets-title-update/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 gets title update</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 24 Apr 2008 09:30:00 EST. Ubisoft sends word that they just released a <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1991064316/m/5001001456"><em>RSV2 </em>title update</a> via Xbox Live that aims at fixing a bunch of the gameplay issues. So many fixes, we had to post the list after the break to prevent eye strain. Highlights include the fixing of the rank reset glitch, numerous achievement fixes and an improved observer mode. High five to Ubisoft for actually caring enough to get a patch out the door, even though these problems <em>should</em> have been caught during QA testing. Tisk, tisk.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://xenocidic.com/2008/04/23/rainbow-six-vegas-2-title-update-is-now-available.aspx">xenocidic</a>]<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/ubisoft-fixes-rsv2-achievement-issues/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Ubisoft fixes RSV2 achievement issues</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/23/ubisoft-fixes-rsv2-achievement-issues/">Ubisoft fixes RSV2 achievement issues</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Apr 2008 15:00:00 EST. Primarily, of course, it teaches/reminds the guys from Mega64 are really ballsy. Seriously, they're bold in a way that would make Errol Flynn want to curl up with a mug of Earl Grey and an issue of Teen Vogue.<br /><br />But we also learn the lengths that everyday citizens are willing to go to in the fight against terror. Terrorists can literally be dancing in front of them in Hawaiian shirts and they will still pretend to see <em>nothing</em>. Ubisoft announced today that <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> has engaged retail with precision and sold two million units worldwide. <a href="http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/rainbow-six-vegas-2-sells-2-million-ubi-raises-guidance/?biz=1">GameDaily</a> reports that due to <em>RSV2</em>'s initial sales and the continued momentum of <em>Assassin's Creed</em> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/GamesForEveryone/"><em>Games for Everyone</em></a>, the publisher raised its fiscal guidance and expects net sales of &euro;920 million ($1.54 billion) from &euro;875 million ($1.38 billion). Ubi's CEO, Yves Guillemot, says 2008 is "off to be a record year" for the industry and company.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/19/metareview-rainbow-six-vegas-2-pc-ps3-xbox-360/">Modest reviews</a> didn't seem to put a damper on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rainbow-six-vegas-2/"><em>RSV2</em></a>'s initial sales with Ubisoft calling them a "better than expected start." If <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/This-Is-Vegas/"><em>This is Vegas</em></a> ends up selling exceptionally well -- and boy, could <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/21/midways-losses-tallied-up-under-sumner-redstones-watch/">Midway use the sales</a> -- we may see Vegas become the hottest video game setting since Omaha Beach.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/rainbow-six-vegas-2-sells-two-million-worldwide-ubi-raising-fis/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 sells 2M worldwide, Ubi raising fiscal guidance</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Mar 2008 19:30:00 EST. And Ubisoft also wanted to make it known that those 2 million sales were a big surprise, even to them. So, with <em>RSV2</em>'s success and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/assassins-creed"><em>Assassin's Creed</em></a> doing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/13/assassins-creed-sells-2-5-million-copies/">better than expected</a>, the number crunching Ubi crew decided to increase their fiscal guidance for 2008. And that's a good thing. We love seeing everyone over at Ubi doing their happy-happy dance which they do exceptionally well when $1.5 billion in sales rains down from the gaming heavens.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/31/rsv2s-worldwide-sales-climb-to-2-million/">RSV2's worldwide sales climb to 2 million</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 31 Mar 2008 15:30:00 EST. PS3 fans love exclusives. But not when these exclusives are problems and glitches. Many PS3 owners are reporting issues with online play in Ubisoft's recent <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2 </em>release. ScaR88 says "nobody can connect to online games." Another tipster, Nick says "you are lucky if you connect in the first place let alone stay connected for the duration of the match." Ryan C. says "I constantly have to reboot my PS3 due to freezing."<br /><br />These tips are just a few that echo the sentiments found on <a href="http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1991064316/m/6031001346/p/12">Ubisoft boards</a>. It seems as though the publisher is keeping quiet about the problem, refusing to directly address the hundreds of complaints its receiving. "What's even worse is they refuse to refund my money," one frustrated gamer noted.<br /><br />We'll keep you updated with any developments.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/23/ps3-rainbow-six-vegas-2-plagued-with-online-snafus/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/23/rainbow-six-vegas-2-plagued-by-online-issues/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 plagued by online issues</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 23 Mar 2008 16:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.ubi.com/us/support/default.aspx">According to their website</a>, much of Ubisoft's technical support staff has taken this weekend off in observation of Good Friday and Easter. That's all well and good -- but perhaps, when they aren't draining Cadbury eggs or enjoying fine roasted hams, just one of them could take the time to Google their latest release, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Rainbow%20Six%3A%20Vegas%202">Rainbow Six: Vegas 2</a></em>, and discover that <a href="http://boards.ign.com/ps3_lobby/b8269/160868253/p1/?10">a good portion of the console gaming world</a> is ready to swear off all things Clancy.<br /><br />Our tip box has exploded with complaints from owners of the PS3 version of the game -- apparently, a majority of those who try to play online either can't connect or have to suffer staggering amounts of lag. We'd expect a bandwidth epidemic such as this to be patched post-haste -- we guess Ubisoft didn't anticipate we'd actually want to play their game on the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastertide">first weekend of Eastertide</a>. What, did they think those terrorists would hunt themselves?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/23/ps3-rainbow-six-vegas-2-plagued-with-online-snafus/">PS3 Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 plagued with online snafus</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 23 Mar 2008 12:00:00 EST. Far fewer gamers were able to score the Best Buy Gun Code that was on the sticker of the game's box at Best Buy stores. The sticker has a code on it (a button code, not a marketplace one) that unlocks a free gun in the game. The instructions for that code are as follows: Enter the follow button commands at the Main Menu of <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em>: (Hold RB) Down, Down, Up, Up, X, B, X, B, Y, Up, Up, Y.<br /><br />The second<em> RSV2 </em>freebie we got wind of was a map brought to us by Comcast. This is again unlockable from within the game and visiting the marketplace is not required. To access the Comcast Bonus Maps, select Extras from the game's main menu. then select "Comcast Gift" and enter the code "Comcast Faster" when prompted to do so, and you should have access a map called "Comcast Event"<br />

Simply put, the <a href="http://forums.xbox.com/19199377/ShowPost.aspx">Private First Class achievement is broken</a>.<br /><br />You see, many gamers who fire up <em>RSV2 </em>and have previously played <em>RSV </em>are experiencing a problem where they cannot unlock the Private First Class achievement. The reason being that their initial rank is bumped up higher than private first class, because of <em>RSV2 </em>using <em>RSV </em>game saves to set the player's rank. So, upon entering multiplayer, the players' rank is greater than private first class and the achievement refuses to unlock. Teh lame! Some have found a way to <a href="http://www.achieve360points.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75691">work around</a> this unlocking annoyance, but it's time consuming, a hassle and is, well ... also annoying. It seems Tom Clancy's latest visit to Las Vegas has yielded strikingly similar results to his 2006 outing: Lots of jumping out of helicopters and being shot at by ambidextrous bandits. Some people like that sort of thing, however, and reviews of <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> suggest that Ubisoft's second trip down the strip is just for them. This is your <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-dev-we-will-never-go-back-to-vegas/">last chance</a> too -- the next Vegas game is that one <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/11/this-is-a-trailer-for-this-is-vegas/">starring Kevin Pereira</a>. <br />
<ul>
    <li><a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=94919">Eurogamer</a> (70/100): "Overall, Vegas 2 feels like an incremental expansion, despite the success of the character-creation feature. The annoying thing is that with a bit more investment these quickfire sequels would feel like true follow-ups, which would go a long way with those of us who've been following the series for the past ten years. As it is, we'll still go to Vegas, but we'll be grumpy on the way home."</li>
    <li><a href="http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/860/860324p1.html">IGN</a> (84/100): "The gameplay in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is awesome; it just isn't as awesome as it was 18 months ago. The main complaint that most gamers are sure to have with RSV2 is that it's simply too similar to the game that we played late in 2006."</li>
    <li><a href="http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/rainbow_six_vegas_2/review.html">Videogamer.com</a> (80/100): "While Rainbow Six Vegas 2 feels more like an add-on than a proper sequel, that shouldn't stop you picking Ubisoft's latest up. The gun-play is excellent, the production values are top notch and the multiplayer game modes will keep you coming back months down the line." <br /></li>

It's the kind of thing that makes a man stalk the toy aisle every time he goes shopping with his significant other, the sort of thing that <em>compels</em> him to buy the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/gears-lancer-made-with-nerf-and-toy-chainsaw/">newest Nerf toy</a>. Case in point: the <a href="http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/03/17/558016.aspx">latest video</a> from Gamerscore Blog. It seems the boys in Redmond (we don't see what's her name anywhere) have become a little <em>too</em> fond of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rainbow-six-vegas-2"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rainbow Six Vegas 2</span></a>. Congratulations, you did it! Why are we heaping our praise upon you for no good reason? Well, friend, you just joined Comcast's Elite Rainbow Six Bravo team. We don't know how you got the honor or why, but we know all you have to do is click <a href="http://gameinvasion.comcast.net/gameinvasion/r6v2/activation">this link</a> to be automatically on the crew. For your trouble, you'll get the pride of knowing you're part of something bigger than yourself ... oh, and a free <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/category/Rainbow-Six-Vegas-2/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2</a></em> map.<br /><br />The new map is called "Comcast Event" which is uncomfortably close to (read: is) super-blatant in-game advertising. But also, it's free, which makes it pretty tough to take a moral stand against. Enjoy.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/18/comcast-offers-exclusive-rainbow-six-vegas-2-map/">Comcast offers exclusive Rainbow Six Vegas 2 map</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Mar 2008 19:00:00 EST. <div align="left">It's sort of a lonely week for new releases. It's not that we aren't seeing anything worthwhile, though. Nope, this week we have the much awaited sequel to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rainbow-six-vegas-2"><em>Rainbow Six Vegas</em></a>, sagely titled <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> to in order to nullify any confusion. Remember, this is the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-wont-see-vegas-again/">last time</a> you'll be getting your <em>6</em> on in Vegas, so get it while the gettin's good (alternately, you could wait until it goes down in price and get it while the gettin's better). Also releasing this week is the latest curiosity from Sega, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sega-superstars-tennis"><em>Sega Superstars Tennis</em></a>. Alas, it seems Sega has more trouble wedging its beloved characters into the sports genre than Nintendo does, as the game has thus far received only <a href="http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/segasuperstarstennis?q=sega%20superstars%20tennis">fair to middling reviews</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/17/new-games-this-week-rainbow-six-vegas-2-edition/">Joystiq</a>]<br /></div>

So, we thought to ourselves. Self, we should highlight some of this week's best <em>RSV2</em> deals. So, here we go.<br /><br />Kicking off our <em>RSV2</em> deal searching fun, we have <a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8724222&amp;type=product&amp;cp=1&amp;id=1200703057436">Best Buy</a> who is offering the game for the standard $59 price tag, but is including a special unlock code for an assault rifle. Yeah, we agree ... a lukewarm deal at best. But we trudge along and see that <a href="http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Tom-Clancy-s-Rainbow-Six-Vegas-2-Xbox-360-008888523956/sem/rpsm/oid/202075/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do">Circuit City</a> is offering <em>RSV2</em> for $59 as well, but is throwing in a pair of red fuzzy dice and a gamer's energy kit. A kit that comes complete with beef jerky, an energy drink, some energy gum and a few other goodies. A little quirky, but we approve. Next up is <a href="http://weeklyad.target.com/target/default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&amp;storeid=2395018&amp;rapid=521780&amp;listingid=-2091944566&amp;ref=%2ftarget%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowsepagespread%26storeid%3d2395018%26rapid%3d521780%26pagenumber%3d26&amp;pagenumber=26">Target</a> who is also selling the game for $59, but is including a $10 gift card as well. And finally, if you have a <a href="http://shopping.dallasnews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?advid=2519&amp;adid=5944931&amp;subid=20473821">Fry's</a> electronics store nearby, you can grab <em>RSV2</em> for the loss-leader price of $39. Analyze all the <em>RSV2</em> offers, make your purchase this <strike>Tuesday</strike> week and fully embrace retailer competition.<br /><br />[Thanks L1B3RATION and SeNiLe911]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/17/rainbow-six-vegas-2-deals-galore/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 deals galore!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Mar 2008 08:45:00 EST. Our <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rsv2">Rainbow Six Vegas 2</a></em> coverage has been lacking a bit, so when we came across a brand new <a href="http://www.gametrailers.com/player/31809.html">Thermal Scanning video</a> today we felt obligated to share. So, embedded above is the latest video, showcasing some hot <em>RSV2</em> thermal scanning, shooting, covering, dodging and dancing (all minus the dancing). In all honesty though, team Ubisoft looks to have polished and built upon <em>Rainbow Six Vegas</em> adding a few new bells and whistles that makes <em>Vegas 2</em> shine. But if a few additions and tweaks doesn't constitute a full fledged sequel in your mind, well then good sir, <em>RSV2</em> may not be your bag. To us, it's a solid enough looking shooter and we may just have to jump in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/rainbow-six-vegas-2-set-for-a-march-21st-release/">next Friday</a> to pew, pew, pew some baddies.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/13/video-rainbow-six-vegas-2-thermal-scanning/">Video: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 thermal scanning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 13 Mar 2008 15:00:00 EST. The attempt will take place in the UK from the March 21 - 24 where all 1,500 tickets to join in the fun live have already sold out. If the dolls are able to compete for a straight 24-hour session of gaming Guinness World Records will induct the event, Ubisoft and <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> into the 2009 edition of the world-famous record catalog.<br /><br />Gamers connected are invited to join in the fraggin' fun over Xbox Live when the game launches later this month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/03/10/guinness-gets-rainbow-six-vegas-2-fever/">Guinness gets Rainbow Six Vegas 2 fever</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 10 Mar 2008 17:15:00 EST. Weighing mostly on multiplayer points the list ranges from utterly simple, "Create your own custom camouflage," to ridiculously hard, "Lead your team to Victory 20 times in Team Leader with at least 6 players present.." OK, that isn't hard to do at all actually but it's funny how achievements need to be so detailed rendering achievement boosting impossible. Who would do that anyway? MLG and Ubi Soft worked closely on the development of the map which was designed with competitive gaming in mind, wonder why that is.<br /><br />With news of the new map comes word that MLG will include <em>Rainbow Six Vegas 2</em> in its 2008 Pro Circuit, including a special release event for the game in April. The MLG Pro Circuit 2008 kicks off on April 11 and will be covered by ESPN.com. Hopefully that means we'll be able to catch reruns of the event on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50jVa25gmWs">ESPN 8: The Ocho</a>.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rainbow-six-vegas-2/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - MLG Map</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rainbow-six-vegas-2/#662159"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/rsv2_ng_mlg_environment_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rainbow-six-vegas-2/#662158"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/rsv2_ng_mlg_conquest_02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/rainbow-six-vegas-2/#662157"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2008/02/rsv2_ng_mlg_conquest_01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/25/rainbow-six-vegas-2-shoots-up-mlg-inspired-map/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 shoots up MLG inspired map</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2008 16:00:00 EST. The multiplayer mode that was available for us to play pitted the players at the four stations against a force of computer controlled terrorists several times the size of our team. Plus, there was an overall time limit as well as long <em>and</em> limited respawn times, all of which assured that you needed to be fast with your kills, but also careful. With the camera seamlessly transitioning between first and third person, the game never felt clunky or hard to aim, and even though the "blind fire" (ability to stick out your gun out from behind cover and fire) was used by way to many people way to often, the few games we managed to play tended to be fun, with the AI being relatively smart (in other words they weren't overly dumb).<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/25/x3f-wondercon-rainbow-6-vegas-2-hands-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>X3F @ WonderCon: Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 Hands-on</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/25/x3f-wondercon-rainbow-6-vegas-2-hands-on/">X3F @ WonderCon: Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 Hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 25 Feb 2008 11:45:00 EST. Is that a Poker term? Okay, we're not the best poker players in the world but we can turn a mean card in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/xbla-in-brief-poker-smash/"><span style="font-style: italic;">Poker Smash</span></a> for XBLA. Thankfully, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/rainbow-six-vegas-2"><span style="font-style: italic;">Rainbow Six Vegas 2</span></a> doesn't require an in depth knowledge of the sport and works fine as long as you know what weapons to use and with this nifty weapons trailer Ubi Soft has put the knowledge in your hands. Well at least when people ask why we share the same Toyota Corolla to the X3F Towers everyday we can say it's because we're terrible athletes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/22/gdc08-rainbow-six-vegas-2-weapons-trailer/">GDC08: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 weapons trailer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 22 Feb 2008 15:30:00 EST. This one addresses the topics of Multi-Player and Co-op, dropping nuggets such as drop-in-drop-out co-op and a story explanation for the Co-op players a la <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/halo-3"><em>Halo 3</em></a> (1P is the Master Chief/Bishop, 2P is the Arbiter/Knight). The main of the interview is a voiceover from the Lead Multi-Player Designer, Jason Cambiotti, and he goes over the bullet points for us. He mentions the PEC system of character creation, which was talked about in <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13n7OGN5Fm8">a previous Dev Diary</a>, and will be similar class-wise to the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/cod4"><em>COD4</em></a> system. This video also shows off<em> Vegas'</em> new competitive multilayer modes: Demolition, which is similar to Assault and Team Leader which is similar to VIP. The rest is about revisions to the Territories-like Total Conquest mode, and the Matchmaking system which will (supposedly) be improved, with games easier to create, find, and join. The first game was well received, so hopefully Ubisoft will be able to build on the success of the first game and shoot for the top of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/07/with-m-16-in-hand-cod4-regains-xbox-live-crown/">Xbox Live most-played charts.</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/09/rainbow-six-vegas-2-developer-diary/">Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Developer Diary</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 09 Feb 2008 14:30:00 EST. "We really feel that the story of Vegas is done. We've explored as much of Vegas as we wanted. For now, we're pretty much covered with Vegas," said Therien. Therien added that having <em>Rainbow Six</em> focus on a single city worked well, but that the team is unsure if future installments will be based on a similar concept. So, if you want more <em>Vegas</em>, your last shot hits shelves on March 21. Next stop, <em>Rainbow Six <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stringtown%2C_Oklahoma">Stringtown</a></em>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-dev-we-will-never-go-back-to-vegas/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-wont-see-vegas-again/">Rainbow Six won't see Vegas again</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Feb 2008 17:30:00 EST. Don't expect a <em>Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 3</em> anytime soon. Speaking to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=92317">Eurogamer</a>, designer Philippe Therien said, "We will never go back to Vegas - at least, not in the foreseeable future." So much for the "rescue four hooker witnesses from a back alley full of out-of-town drunkards" mission we've been dying to play.<br /><br />Therien also noted that, although the single location worked well for the story of the previous two games, he's not sure if they'll return to that format for the next <em>Rainbow Six</em> installment. (Make no mistake, no one expects this to be the last <em>Rainbow Six</em> title.) The glamorous, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/12/20/new-rainbow-six-vegas-2-teaser-now-glam-free-time-paradoxical/">time-paradoxical</a> <em>Rainbow Six: Vegas 2</em> is due out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/rainbow-six-vegas-2-cashes-in-march-21/">March 21</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/08/rainbow-six-dev-we-will-never-go-back-to-vegas/">Rainbow Six dev: 'We will never go back to Vegas'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Feb 2008 15:10:00 EST.
