<em>Battlefield 4</em> has announced via <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151453993982672&amp;set=a.10150104682062672.279492.308775617671&amp;type=1">its Facebook page</a> that the game will launch on October 29 of this year. In addition to versions on the PC, Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, the team has also confirmed the game will be coming to Microsoft's newly announced <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/xbox-one">Xbox One</a> console. The Xbox One doesn't have a confirmed launch date just yet, so it's possible that version will arrive later.<br />
<br />
Additionally, EA's announced <em>Battlefield 4</em>'s first expansion pack, <a href="http://www.battlefield.com/battlefield-4/features/china-rising?utm_source=M21-PR&amp;utm_medium=PR&amp;utm_campaign=052113">called <em>China Rising</em></a>. The pack will contain four extra maps, along with extra vehicles and weapons. It will be available at launch, and come free with any pre-order of the game.<br />
<br />
And speaking of confirmed Xbox One titles, Bungie has also made it clear that <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/destiny"><em>Destiny</em></a> is <a href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151435098736149&amp;set=a.183788846148.126824.57193326148&amp;type=1">due out on Xbox One</a> as well. Stay tuned for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/watch-dogs-assassins-creed-4-confirmed-for-xbox-one/">more confirmations on next-gen titles</a> for Microsoft's new console.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/battlefield-4-launching-on-october-29-both-it-and-destiny-comin/">Battlefield 4 launching on October 29, both it and Destiny coming to Xbox One</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 21 May 2013 15:22:00 EST. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-swapper">The Swapper</a> </em>- the Indie Fund-ed, clay model-animated, puzzle platformer put together by a few Finnish university students - has been set to hit Steam on May 30. The game has a lone space explorer wandering an alien cave, with a "weapon" that allows him to create clones of himself to solve puzzles and move around.<br />
<br />
Facepalm has released a brand new trailer showing that gameplay and the title's excellent graphics, which were created by animating photos of actual clay. The initial release will be for PC, with Mac and Linux coming later, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/20/the-swapper-takes-a-spin-on-steam-this-spring/">and "maybe something else"</a> after that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/the-swapper-switches-it-up-on-may-30/">The Swapper switches it up on May 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 19:30:00 EST. Now that the MMO-slash-TV show <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/defiance"><em>Defiance</em></a> has been launched, says executive producer Nathan Richardsson, things are about to really get good, in <a href="http://community.defiance.com/en/2013/05/09/you-just-keep-coming-back-for-more-but-now-what-lets-talk-potential/">the form of five DLC releases later this year</a>. He admits that fan response to the game has it pegged as "about as deep as a bag of chips but great fun," but adds that he'd "like to get to the two-bag of chip depth category or at least, add some salsas for various textures."<br />
<br />
Most of those spices will come in the form of DLC, and Richardsson has outlined what the game's first addon, tentatively titled "Enter the Castithan," will look like. There will be three elements to it: Those who buy the downloadable content for $10 will get access to the Castithan playable race, along with a new outfit and vehicle, and a new story mission line and game mode. There will also be free content, including new weapons, a new PvP map called Military Academy, and some other game improvements. And then there will be new items in the store, including weapon mods, more vehicle versions, and the ability to change your character's customizations.<br />
<br />
Richardsson says all future add-ons will have these paid, free, and store components, and the team's goal is to keep the updates and content flowing and focused on what players want. The first DLC release is expected to hit the game after a patch later on this month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/10/defiance-team-plans-five-dlc-releases-first-adds-the-castithan/">Defiance team plans five DLC releases, first adds the Castithan race and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 10 May 2013 10:15:00 EST. Developer Jools Watsham has tweeted that <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/mutant-mudds-deluxe">Mutant Mudds Deluxe</a></em>, which was set to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/03/mutant-mudds-plops-onto-wii-u-in-q1-2013-is-even-more-unique/">come to the Wii U this spring</a>, has reached the final stage of development. <a href="https://twitter.com/JoolsWatsham/status/331395036329693184">Watsham says</a> the game is currently being polished, and that it should be submitted to Nintendo for release later on this week.<br />
<br />
The <em>Deluxe</em> version of the retro platformer will be playable directly on the Wii U's tablet controller, and will feature both the add-on content from the main game and new levels to play. If the game is submitted this week as planned, it should appear on the eShop soon after.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/07/mutant-mudds-deluxe-for-wii-u-almost-ready-to-be-submitted/">Mutant Mudds Deluxe for Wii U almost ready to be submitted</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 May 2013 05:00:00 EST. The commercial itself was for a 3D platformer <a href="https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/april-2013/">called <em>Super Adventure Box</em></a>, which ArenaNet also created for real inside its popular MMO.<br /><br />ArenaNet says <em>Rytlock's Critter Rampage</em> was going to be cobbled together from a few sprites for the sake of the joke, but cinematic artist Delly Sartika had wanted to build a retro platformer and did the whole thing in about three weeks.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/24/guild-wars-2-gets-a-retro-2d-platformer-thanks-to-an-april-fool/">Guild Wars 2 gets a retro 2D platformer, thanks to an April Fools' joke</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Apr 2013 03:00:00 EST. The physics have been improved, too, and the developers say it'll <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1clr52/my_game_surgeon_simulator_2013_is_out_on_steam/">work on Windows, Mac or Linux</a> on day one.<br /><br />Upon its launch on Steam, the game will cost $9.99 - way cheaper and less grueling than years of medical school.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/18/surgeon-simulator-2013-transplanted-to-steam-tomorrow/">Surgeon Simulator 2013 transplanted to Steam tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 18 Apr 2013 23:00:00 EST. Starting with about 250,000 registered players, the game has since grown up to around 2 million, with the devs fixing bugs and providing weekly patches since then.<br /><br />The weekly patches, which have been adding new skills and items to the game, will continue to roll out. But version 1.0 is going to be the game's full release, when the "open beta" tag comes off, and the game "will be reviewable," according to Wilson. The update will add a full story to the game's Act 3, including lots of new monsters and items, and "do the stuff we had to cut corners on" throughout the game's development, Wilson said.<br /><br />After that, "we intend to do expansions over the next five to ten years," Wilson told us. The team has no set plans for releases, and if they can put a major feature together in less time, then Wilson says they'll do it. The game already had a lot of success with "races," which are <a href="http://www.pathofexile.com/seasons">special events that challenge players</a> to speedrun the game under special conditions. But in general, he said, given the current player base, "adding a new act to the game is probably a once a year thing."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/30/path-of-exile-version-1-0-is-six-months-away-one-expansion-per/">Path of Exile version 1.0 is six months away, one expansion per year after</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 30 Mar 2013 18:00:00 EST. As you can see in the quick video on IGN's page, "Forge Island" actually has three different islands of varying size, all completely flat and round, to give map makers lots of room to build whatever they want.<br /><br />The map will also come with some new Forge pieces, which the developers have already used to build a copy of Hang 'Em High. 343 specifically asked at the panel if a fan would be kind enough to remake Blood Gulch on the biggest island, so that's possible too. The new map and related tools are all being released for free on April 11, just a few days after <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/11/halo-4-lowers-drawbridge-for-castle-map-pack-on-april-8/">the Castle Map Pack arrives</a> on April 8.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/24/halo-4-getting-new-forge-island-map-for-free-on-april-11/">Halo 4 getting new Forge Island map for free on April 11</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 24 Mar 2013 19:30:00 EST. The new game will contain all of the cards from the Magic 2014 Core Set, as well as a new storyline teaming the player up with Planeswalker Chandra Nalaar.<br /><br />Neither the press release or the short teaser trailer for the game (seen below and above) mentions developer Stainless Games, but Wizards of the Coast has confirmed to Joystiq that the same team that made <em>Duels of the Planeswalkers</em> versions is indeed on the job again. CommanderVideo will start his run on the Wii U and Steam (for PC, Mac, and Linux) tomorrow, February 26, and then be available on Xbox Live on Wednesday of this week, February 27.<br /><br />The PSN, iOS, and Vita releases are coming later: Neuse says "hopefully March 5" for the PSN release, "but Early March for sure!" iOS and Vita versions are due out sometime this summer. The game will be $14.99 no matter what platform you buy it on, and Neuse notes that there's <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/218060/">still a few hours for a Steam preorder</a> if you want the various bonuses and discounts. On either <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/plants-vs.-zombies/id350642635?mt=8">the iPhone</a> or in <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/plants-vs.-zombies-hd/id363282253?mt=8">HD on the iPad</a>, you can grab the full-featured app for free through the rest of this week.<br /><br />Statistically, given how many copies of the game have sold already, you probably already own it on at least one of your gaming devices, but just in case that list doesn't include iOS just yet, <em>there you go</em>. And now that <em>PvZ</em> has finally and truly achieved total platform domination, PopCap can start it on the sequel; It's due out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/20/plants-vs-zombies-2-announced/">sometime this spring</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/plants-vs-zombies-goes-free-on-ios-this-week/">Plants vs. Zombies goes free on iOS this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Feb 2013 23:59:00 EST. "We're going keep an eye on the situation with the Nexus 7," Cavanagh said on his <a href="http://distractionware.com/blog/2013/01/super-hexagon-for-android/">official blog</a>. "If it ever improves, you can be sure we'll make it available on that device too."<br /><br />To celebrate its release, the game is <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.distractionware.superhexagon">on sale</a> for $0.99, though how long this promotional pricing will last remains a mystery. Seeing as <em>Super Hexagon</em> was our <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/02/joystiq-top-10-of-2012-super-hexagon/">fifth favorite game of 2012</a>, you should probably jump on that offer while it stands.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/19/super-hexagon-out-on-android-temporarily-1/">Super Hexagon out on Android, temporarily $1</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 19 Jan 2013 21:00:00 EST. While further details regarding pricing, release dates and the platform's complete catalogue of games are being withheld until February 7, Capcom did confirm that <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oxBZpNK9DM"><em>Black Tiger</em></a> will be part of the US release, as it is in Japan.<br /><br />Assuming that Capcom Arcade Cabinet's business model for the states is the same as it is in Japan, however, there are some inferences that we can make. The XBLA/PSN app itself will likely be free and include one game (probably <em>Black Tiger</em>), though that hasn't been officially announced as of yet. As far as games that <em>aren't</em> <em>Black Tiger</em>, we're assuming they'll either be sold individually or in packs, but we won't know for sure until February.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/10/capcom-arcade-cabinet-confirmed-for-the-west/">Capcom Arcade Cabinet confirmed for the west</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jan 2013 16:00:00 EST. The game (which was originally released on the PS2 back in 2008) has quite a few different versions floating around, including one for the PSP, another on the Wii, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/16/guilty-gear-hits-xbla-next-week-arkham-city-on-sale-this-week/">an XBLA version earlier</a> this year. Instead of smaller pieces of downloadable content, it sounds like the team is aiming for a full followup release. "It will be like a sequel, kind of," says S&ouml;derstr&ouml;m, "but building on the story."<br /><br />He adds that this possible new game "will probably have more playable characters than the first game did. And a couple of different stories and angles." And Wedin says it might have a map editor as well: "We're looking at if it's possible to do that. I think it would be really cool to let people do their own stages."<br /><br />The first game, says S&ouml;derstr&ouml;m, took quite a while to develop. But with an engine already built, a new release would primarily focus on adding new content, he says, so the process should be shortened. "We hope it would take no longer than four or five months to make the sequel, but we're not sure at this point." That's fine, Cactus. We'll just don our finest creepy pig mask and wait here patiently for more news.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/19/new-hotline-miami-content-will-more-likely-be-like-a-sequel-ki/">New Hotline Miami content will more likely be 'like a sequel, kind of'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Nov 2012 22:00:00 EST. From the minds of <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dyad"><em>Dyad</em></a>, studio ][ and Shawn McGrath, comes <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/a-game-about-bouncing">A Game About Bouncing</a></em>, which McGrath <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/16/deconstructing-the-dyad-design-with-creator-shawn-mcgrath/">briefly discussed</a> in an interview with Joystiq earlier this year. Originally developed as a prototype sketch at a quick game jam, <em>Bouncing</em> is now featured as a premium arcade cabinet in PlayStation Home.<br /><br />Purchasing the cabinet gives players access to the game along with a full avatar skin, some themed glasses to wear, and even a Shawn McGrath-inspired outfit, complete with cowboy hat and beard.<br /><br />There's also a bevy of other new avatar items available for purchase, and some tweaks and additions to the Avalon Keep area in Home (including a new crystal-collecting minigame you can play with friends). Sony says the update, including that new arcade cabinet, should be out and available on PlayStation Home on this Wednesday, November 7; however, no price was revealed.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/05/a-game-about-bouncing-from-dyad-dev-coming-to-playstation-home/">'A Game About Bouncing' from Dyad dev coming to PlayStation Home</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 05 Nov 2012 20:30:00 EST. According to the statement, the device's release was moved in order to take advantage of a "last minute opportunity" to "ensure our first customers are completely satisfied with the Wikipad." Unfortunately, no new launch date has been set yet.<br /><br />The team says that it's working with GameStop on dealing with current pre-orders, and that anyone who's already pre-ordered the product will not only get the "refined and upgraded" bundle when it's eventually released, but "a special bonus gift" as well. Again, there's no indication when that might happen, so we'll just have to wait and see what Wikipad's plans are going forward.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/31/wikipad-delayed-on-launch-day-refined-and-upgraded-bundles-to/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/31/wikipad-delayed-on-launch-day-refined-and-upgraded-bundles-to/">Wikipad delayed on launch day, 'refined and upgraded bundles' to be announced soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 31 Oct 2012 19:30:00 EST. In addition to the Pirate Queen outfit seen above, the DLC adds a new "Smuggler's Hut" building for bringing in resources from beyond internationally guarded waters, a Sailor trait for charactersm and a few other piracy-themed tweaks.<br /><br />You can see the update in action in the gallery below. Pirate Heaven is <a href="http://www.kalypsomedia.com/en-us/index.shtml">available today from Kalypso's own website</a>, or any other places you'd normally grab such things, including <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/205632/">Steam</a>. In North America, the pack will run you $4.99 - no actual piracy allowed.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/">Tropico 4 - Pirate Heaven</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380335"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380336"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380337"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380338"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven04_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tropico-4-pirate-heaven/#5380339"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/10/tropico4-pirateheaven05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/24/tropico-4-plunders-some-pirate-heaven-dlc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tropico 4 plunders some Pirate Heaven DLC</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/24/tropico-4-plunders-some-pirate-heaven-dlc/">Tropico 4 plunders some Pirate Heaven DLC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 24 Oct 2012 23:30:00 EST. Developer Barbaroga has been working on a bigger and better video game version of <a href="http://www.twilightcreationsinc.com/en/boardgames/zombies.html">the Twilight Creations board game</a> for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/12/zombies-for-xbla-shambling-in-spring-2011/">over two years now</a>, though the project's been dark since late 2010.<br /><br />A version did get released on Windows Phone last year, but it's finally arriving soon, according to these videos, on Xbox Live, Windows, iOS and Android.<br /><br />The graphics have been updated, the gameplay and controls have been tweaked, and Babaroga has added asynchronous multiplayer features, so players will be able to trade turns back and forth. Babaroga says the full console version of <em>Zombies!!!</em> should be out as soon as "winter" this year.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/zombies-board-game-adaptation-still-in-development-coming-so/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Zombies!!! board game adaptation still in development, coming soon</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/19/zombies-board-game-adaptation-still-in-development-coming-so/">Zombies!!! board game adaptation still in development, coming soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 19 Oct 2012 23:59:00 EST. The popular soccer sim has <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2012-09-27-fifa-13-sells-353-000-in-north-america-on-day-one">sold through 353,000 copies</a> on Xbox 360 and the PS3 in just one day, according to EA, giving those sales an increase of 42 percent over last year's iteration. The iOS version has also done well, with the best launch day sales of the game on that platform in history.<br /><br /><em>FIFA 12</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/05/fifa-12-scores-3-2-million-sales-within-first-week/">sold 3.2 million copies</a> in its first week last year, and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/01/ea-battlefield-3-fifa-12-sell-over-10-million-units-each-madd/">went on to sell over 10 million</a> total. Presumably, <em>FIFA 13</em> is on track to do even better than that this year. It arrived in North America this past Tuesday, and will release on Friday around the rest of the world.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/27/ea-fifa-13-scores-353k-in-north-america-on-day-one/">EA: FIFA 13 scores 353K in North America on day one</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 27 Sep 2012 23:45:00 EST. Just be careful with letting Evil be your roommate: It always leaves empty milk cartons in the fridge, and never washes the dishes, no matter what the chore list says.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/25/resident-evil-5-and-raccoon-city-half-off-on-steam-for-midweek-m/">Resident Evil 5 and Raccoon City half off on Steam for Midweek Madness</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 25 Sep 2012 23:00:00 EST. Players will be able to pick up the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows on September 25. The game features "PES Full Control," which promises to let players manually control every single pass. The new Pro Active AI should keep your opponents competitive, too.<br /><br />If you're not sure whether you want <em>PES 2013</em> yet or not, you're in luck: There are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/23/another-pes-2013-demo-available-next-week-on-xblm-and-psn/">two different demos</a> for the game available right now. There's a full-featured level editor included with the game, and it's the same one the designers have been using to make their own levels, controller and all.<br /><br />Every type of block in the game is available to be placed by you within the editor, and you can color them however you like. Each level obviously needs an entrance and an exit, but what happens in between is up to you. You can choose any of the game's modes (and can even combine some of them), lay out resources to collect, and even build little Rube Goldberg devices with the various available components. One example shown to us used boulders and timed pneumatic devices pushing them onto switches, which created a sort of timed trap for characters to navigate. Extra creative users will come up with even more complex and varied setups, we suspect.<br /><br />Even if you're not looking to create levels, The Behemoth has you covered. To start with, users will be able to share and send levels to each other. There's a "Level Lobby" in the game's main menu, where you can download playlists of created levels, see feeds for highest played and Behemoth favorites, and play and rate all of the levels you can find. Levels do need to be downloaded locally to be played, but they're tiny, so bandwidth and storage shouldn't be a problem.<br /><br />We'll have to see how the level sharing system actually works post-launch to see how prominent it becomes (<em>Castle Crashers</em>, of course, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/31/pax08-castle-crashers-patch-promised-to-release-asap/">suffered from connectivity problems</a> during its release, which made playing multiplayer tougher than it should have been). But The Behemoth has created a powerful editor here, and it'll be fascinating, as with most user-generated content systems, to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/07/littlebigplanet-celebrates-7-million-user-levels-with-massive-m/">see what players can do</a> with it.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/05/learn-more-about-battleblock-theaters-level-editor/">Learn more about Battleblock Theater's level editor</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 05 Sep 2012 22:00:00 EST. Back then it was available on the <a href="http://freebirdgames.com/to_the_moon/">developer's site</a> and on <a href="http://www.desura.com/games/to-the-moon">Desura</a>, but it was absent on Steam, a service with a wider audience, higher profile and where a game of <em>To the Moon</em>'s caliber truly belonged. <em>To the Moon</em> will be available in English, French and German, and likely Italian and Korean, Freebird's Kan Gao says.<br /><br />Freebird is working on another episode of <em>To the Moon</em>, featuring the same doctors invading another dying person's memories in the attempt to make their patient's greatest wish come true, mentally, at least.<br /><br />In April, Gao said <em>To the Moon</em> will be free on Steam to those who purchased it previously, and that it wouldn't include Steamworks, since it's such a short game anyway. Gao confirms that <em>To the Moon</em> won't use Steamworks for achievements or saves, but "it's possible that a new form of cloud saves will be used."<br /><br />Those who bought <em>To the Moon </em>from Freebird's site, and only from Freebird's site, will get a Steam version for free. This will be on a request basis, since Gao has to manually email each person with a free code. He'll announce an email account for retrieving free codes once it's all set up.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/02/to-the-moon-hits-steam-september-7-next-episode-incoming/">To the Moon hits Steam September 7, next episode incoming</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 02 Sep 2012 14:30:00 EST. The game has you guiding small soldiers of various classes through a series of 30 missions, with objectives like destroying enemy structures or saving hostages.<br /><br />As you can see from the screenshots below, the PC version of the game looks practically identical to the mobile version, though of course you'll be controlling the proceedings with a mouse and keyboard rather than a touchscreen. <em>Tiny Troopers</em> will be <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/216110/?snr=1_7_suggest__13">available for purchase on Steam</a> or any other fine digital stores near you.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/">Tiny Troopers (PC)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/#5228258"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/tiny-troopers-pcscreen1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/#5228259"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/tiny-troopers-pcscreen2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/#5228260"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/tiny-troopers-pcscreen3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/#5228261"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/tiny-troopers-pcscreen4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/tiny-troopers-pc/#5228262"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/08/tiny-troopers-pcscreen5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/23/tiny-troopers-coming-from-mobile-to-pc-and-mac-on-friday/">Tiny Troopers coming from mobile to PC and Mac on Friday</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 23 Aug 2012 07:00:00 EST. The game was previously seen on the 3DS eShop, and will arrive on the PC on August 30, with that introductory price lasting until September 5.<br /><br />On the 3DS, <em>Mutant Mudds</em> made copious use of the 3D screen to transfer its hero in between the various platform levels, but on the PC version, there's an elegant blur effect instead. The retro graphics and tunes are still there, however. You'll be able to grab the game directly from Renegade Kid, or on Good Old Games, Gamers Gate, or Desura at the end of the month.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/17/mutant-mudds-coming-to-pc-on-august-30-starting-at-7-99/">Mutant Mudds coming to PC on August 30, starting at $7.99</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 Aug 2012 04:30:00 EST.
