Beneath our descriptions of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/19/hotline-miami-2-wrong-number-unmasked-blood-drugs-feelings/">violence, twisted psyches and new features</a> within <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/hotline-miami-2"><em>Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number</em></a>, there lies relevant information about the game that you surely shouldn't miss: It's due out this year - Dennaton co-founder Denis Wedin told us at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/event/e3-2013">E3</a> that it would be "late 2013" - and it's coming for sure to PC, Mac and Linux via Steam.<br />
<br />
Dennaton is talking with console companies about potential releases, and regarding Vita specifically, Wedin said, "We hope so." <em>Wrong Number</em> is a darker, more emotional journey through the lives of multiple, playable characters as they rampage throughout the '90s, enacting their own brands of bloody justice. Wedin wouldn't divulge how many playable characters were in <em>Wrong Number</em>, but the demo featured the Pig Butcher and the Fans - and there will be a playable lady character in there, Wedin told us.<br />
<br />
Dennaton doesn't have any plans for multiplayer in <em>Wrong Number</em>, at least not at first. They may add something down the line, Wedin said, but the story in the main campaign is the priority.<br />
<br />
"We tried to give different storylines to the characters, tried to work with different emotions - not just being crazy or like a psychopath," Wedin said. "We tried to give them other backstories." <em>Wrong Number</em> tackles deep feelings and character motivations, but it isn't a complete break from its <em>Hotline Miami</em> roots, Wedin stressed:<br />
<br />
"We're super proud of how [<em>Hotline Miami</em>] works and people seem to like it a lot, so we're only going to add more enemies and more weapons and more and more. So if you love the feeling and the pace of the difficulty in the first game, it's going to be in the second one."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/19/hotline-miami-2-wrong-number-due-out-late-2013-for-pc-mac-l/">Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number due out 'late 2013' for PC, Mac, Linux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Jun 2013 12:30:00 EST. Those who opted into the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/steam">Steam</a> client beta may see some interesting language alluding to game sharing in the "steamui_english" file of the latest update. It's suggested that Steam users will be able to set a shared game library - when the original owner logs into the game, the game sharer gets a prompt to quit out.<br />
<br />
If you want to see the file for yourself, you'll need to be running the beta version of Steam - go into Steam settings and opt in, then restart the client. Then, you'll need to head into your public folder and open the "steamui_english" file in a text editor like Notepad. Final step: crack open a cold soda, sit back and feel good about being <em>a computer genius</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/19/rumor-steam-beta-update-file-suggests-game-sharing-is-coming/">Rumor: Steam beta update file suggests game sharing is coming</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 19 Jun 2013 10:00:00 EST. Team2Bit's 2D brawler, <em>Fist Puncher,</em> is preparing to light up Steam on June 21. You can <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/238630/">pre-order</a> <em>Fist Puncher</em> right now for a buck off its $10 asking price.<br />
<br />
<em>Fist Puncher</em>, published by Adult Swim Games, stars black belt holder and neurosurgery practitioner Dr. Karate, who is out to save the city of Los Cruces from the evil grips of the Milkman. <em>Fist Puncher</em> was financed through <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/kickstarter">Kickstarter</a> last April, and an alpha for the game was made available back in September.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/18/fist-puncher-cracking-down-on-steam-june-21/">Fist Puncher cracking down on Steam June 21</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Jun 2013 22:59:00 EST. A "bigger" and "beefier" version of 17-BIT's tactical strategy game, <i><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/skulls-of-the-shogun">Skulls of the Shogun</a>,</i> will hit Steam <a href="http://skullsoftheshogun.com/2013/06/17-bit-announces-skulls-of-the-shogun-bone-a-fide-edition-for-steam/">next month</a>, boasting six new maps, a multiplayer progression system, and a new four-chapter epilogue.<br />
<br />
<i>Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-a-Fide Edition</i> features all of the content found in the Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8 versions of the game, including real-time multiplayer, hotseat support, and asynchronous multiplayer modes. The Steam version's exclusive chapter introduces a new playable protagonist, along with a new unit type equipped with teleportation spells.<br />
<br />

Steam let <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/games/765/announcements/detail/1604686826011817344">six games and one piece of software</a> through its Greenlight service last week during E3, granting each the ability to be distributed on the platform.<br />
<br />
The greenlit games were <em>Assetto Corsa</em> by Kunos Simulazioni, <em>DreadOut</em> by Digital Happiness, Benjamin Hill's <em>Ether One</em>, <em>GunZ 2: The Second Duel</em> by MAIET Games, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/stonehearth"><em>Stonehearth</em></a> by Radiant Entertainment and Ben Falcone's first-person survival horror game for Oculus Rift, <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-forest">The Forest</a></em>. <em>Stonehearth</em>, a sandbox strategy game, recently <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/02/crowdfund-bookie-may-26-june-1-stonehearth-tug-son-of-nor/">raised $751,920 on Kickstarter</a>. <em>Heaven Benchmark</em> by Unigine was the lone piece of software that community approval last week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/18/steam-greenlight-sneaks-out-six-more-games-one-more-app/">Steam Greenlight sneaks out six more games, one more app</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 18 Jun 2013 12:30:00 EST. One of our favorite talks from GDC was Brian Provinciano's session, in which the indie developer discussed bringing his game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/retro-city-rampage"><em>Retro City Rampage</em></a>, to just about every platform known to man. It's a valuable talk for many reasons, giving a clear picture of what it's like working with The Big Three[TM] and the types of hurdles a determined indie developer will inevitably hit.<br />
<br />
Provinciano's determination to port <em>Grand Theft Auto 3</em> to NES hardware escalated into <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/12/retro-city-rampage-review/">a love letter</a> to video games and pop culture. While Provinciano hasn't announced his next project yet, he says we should expect more <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/05/expect-more-humorous-open-world-games-from-brian-provinciano/">humorous open-world games</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/17/watch-brian-provincianos-retro-city-rampage-talk-from-gdc/">Watch Brian Provinciano's Retro City Rampage talk from GDC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Jun 2013 23:00:00 EST. Mousechief, the veteran indie developer responsible for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/dangerous-high-school-girls-in-trouble/"><em>Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble</em></a>, launched the first part of his next series, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/7-grand-steps/"><em>7 Grand Steps</em></a>, on June 7. Less than one week later, it's on track to bring in $100,000, Keith Nemitz (Mousechief) told me at E3's IndieCade expo.<br />
<br />
Nemitz has been invited to one other IndieCade showing already, and he's been a finalist at GDC's Independent Games Festival three times over. Nemitz has been working on <em>7 Grand Steps</em> for the past four years, and it was a finalist in this year's IGF.<br />
<br />
<em>Seven Grand Steps</em> is on sale for 10 percent off on <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/238930">Steam</a>, $13.50, through June 14.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/7-grand-steps-on-its-way-to-100k-in-first-week/">7 Grand Steps on its way to $100K in first week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 17:30:00 EST. It's easy to see, right away, why Sony went after former Ubisoft developers Red Barrels to get their indie game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/10/outlast-indie-horror-from-red-barrels-coming-to-playstation-4/"><em>Outlast</em></a>, on the PlayStation 4. Not only is the horror/exploration game atmospheric and frightening, but it's a great showcase for the hardware.<br />
<br />
In <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/outlast"><em>Outlast</em></a>, you play a reporter who brings a video camera to an old abandoned asylum, in search of a story. The game is seen through your digital camera's lens, both as you wander through the empty hallways and when you flip on the terrifying black-and-white night vision filter.<br />
<br />
Through the eyes of that camera, the whole game looks like a recovered snuff film of sorts, where you serve as both cameraman and victim. The motion and style of the game are both realistic, and sometimes (or often, depending on your tolerance for such things) disturbingly so. The camera's digital artifacts and heads-up display help sell the excellent graphics, and the whole experience found my scaredy-cat brain constantly having to remind myself that what I was seeing wasn't real.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/outlast-e3-2013/">Outlast (E3 2013)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/outlast-e3-2013/#5962364"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/outlast-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/outlast-e3-2013/#5962366"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/outlast-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/outlast-e3-2013/#5962365"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/06/outlast-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/outlast-carries-a-camera-into-the-dark-on-ps4/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Outlast carries a camera into the dark on PS4</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/12/outlast-carries-a-camera-into-the-dark-on-ps4/">Outlast carries a camera into the dark on PS4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:30:00 EST. <div><em>Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition</em> takes control of the PC and Mac realms on June 18 via <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/231740/">Steam</a>. Huzzah! It comes in a standard version for $10 or the Digital Deluxe Edition for $15. Standard pre-orders include 800 pieces of in-game gold and the original soundtrack, and the deluxe edition gets a special character, a farm location, a sci-fi bedroom pack and 800 gold pieces.<br />
<br />
From Behold Studios and published by Paradox Interactive, <em>Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition</em> is an RPG about playing an RPG, classic-style on a tabletop, with dice and surrounded by friends. It is, of course, actually on a screen, and you'll probably play by yourself, with a mouse and keyboard. At least you'll still have a tabletop.</div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/09/knights-of-pen-and-paper-1-edition-rolls-out-for-pc-mac-on-jun/">Knights of Pen and Paper +1 Edition rolls out for PC, Mac on June 18</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 09 Jun 2013 21:00:00 EST. <strong>What's your game called and what's it about?</strong><br />
<br />
The game is called <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/papers-please/"><em>Papers, Please</em></a> and it follows the daily grind of an immigration inspector working in a fictional communist country in the early 1980s. The gameplay is based around detecting discrepancies in the documents provided by entrants. Using the limited resources provided by the Ministry of Admission, you have to sort spies, terrorists, smugglers and criminals from the flow of hopeful immigrants.<br />
<br />
<strong>What inspired you to make <em>Papers, Please</em>?</strong><br />
<br />
I was inspired originally by my trips through airport immigration in the last few years. In general I try to keep an eye out for new game ideas and figured that whatever rigamarole the immigration inspector was doing behind their desk might be fun. Once that idea started to grow, I noticed other aspects of the concept that could be fun. Instead of playing the cool spy protagonist that slips through a checkpoint unsuspected, you can be the hard-ass inspector that casts their skeptical eye at every grandmother trodding through. That sort of role reversal sounded fun to me and I thought others might like it, too.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/09/the-joystiq-indie-pitch-papers-please/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Joystiq Indie Pitch: Papers, Please</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/09/the-joystiq-indie-pitch-papers-please/">The Joystiq Indie Pitch: Papers, Please</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 09 Jun 2013 09:30:00 EST. Telltale may be gearing up to announce new DLC for <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/the-walking-dead">The Walking Dead</a>. </em>That's according to an update to the game's entry in the Steam database, titled 'Walking Dead 400 Days DLC.' The name correlates with teaser clips Telltale published recently.<br />
<br />
The four clips are titled <a href="https://vine.co/v/b3gbMwUuD1x">Day 2</a>, <a href="https://vine.co/v/b3twh3FAVFP">Day 220</a>, <a href="https://vine.co/v/b3YOhn5DTFA">Day 184</a>, and <a href="https://vine.co/v/bLmgUiD0bet">Day 236</a>. Each one features a person's photo pinned on a 'Missing' board, perhaps pertaining to characters introduced in the DLC.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/25/telltale-writer-teases-more-walking-dead-prior-to-season-2/">Back in February</a>, series writer Gary Whitta said "there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before Season 2." Also, a <a href="http://www.polygon.com/2013/6/3/4392934/telltale-games-the-walking-dead-dlc">Polygon</a> report indicates at one point Telltale's exhibitor page on the E3 website listed 'Season 1 DLC' for <em>The Walking Dead</em>. While it's never safe to assume anything when it comes to the zombie apocalypse, chances are there are some more tough choices on the horizon.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/07/the-walking-dead-400-days-dlc/">The Walking Dead '400 Days DLC' listed in Steam database</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Jun 2013 02:15:00 EST. Steam has a pretty sweet deal for pre-orders of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/saints-row-4"><em>Saints Row 4</em></a>: Commit to the game early and get the Commander in Chief Edition and three weapons skins inspired by <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/team-fortress-2"><em>Team Fortess 2</em></a>, the Rainblower, the Flamethrower and the Rocket Launcher. Also, anyone who already owns <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/Saints-Row-The-Third/">Saints Row: The Third</a></em> on Steam gets 10 percent off <em>Saints Row 4</em> - and bonus, <em>The Third</em> is on sale for <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/55230/">75 percent off</a> right now through June 10.<br />
<br />
The Commander in Chief Edition includes the 'Merica weapon, Screaming Eagle plane and Uncle Sam suit. <em>Saints Row 4</em> is due out on August 20 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/06/saints-row-4-steam-pre-orders-go-live-commander-in-chief-editio/">Saints Row 4 Steam pre-orders go live, Commander in Chief Edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 06 Jun 2013 20:10:00 EST. Capcom <a href="http://www.capcom-unity.com/xantista/blog/2013/06/04/ducktales-remastered-confirmed-for-pc">announced</a> today that its globe-trotting, pogo-jumping platformer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/ducktales-remastered"><i>DuckTales Remastered</i></a> is coming to PC platforms via Steam, Origin, Impulse, GamersGate, Green Man Gaming, and "numerous other places PC gamers download their wares."<br />
<br />
Helmed by <i>Double Dragon: Neon</i> developer WayForward, <i>DuckTales Remastered</i> was first revealed as a downloadable game for Xbox Live Arcade, the PlayStation Network, and the Wii U's eShop <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/22/capcom-reveals-new-ducktales-game/">back in March</a>. Capcom <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/27/capcom-working-on-confirming-ducktales-remastered-for-pc/">later</a> announced plans for a PC port, leading up to today's announcement.<br />
<br />
The PC version of <i>DuckTales Remastered</i> will launch this summer, "within or around same window as the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions," at $14.99. Valve has posted <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/10759/">new weekly deals</a> on Steam this week, and you can pick up some excellent indie titles for the low price of <em>cheap</em>. The atmospheric horror puzzler <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/217690/"><em>Anna</em></a> is on sale for only $3.39, 2DEngine's <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/11360/"><em>Chains</em></a> is only $1.24, reverse music shooter <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/222660/"><em>Retro/Grade</em></a> will cost you $3.40, the sticky sweet <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/212110/"><em>Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory</em></a> is $2.37, and indie point-and-click <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/220090/"><em>The Journey Down: Chapter One</em></a> is $2.80.<br />
<br />
That's a whole lotta great indie gaming for not a lotta bucks. The whole deal's good until June 10, despite the official Valve post date being <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/13/steam-weekly-deals-hitman-absolution-hydrophobia-anodyne/">off by a week again</a>. You're just messing with us now, right Valve?<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/03/steam-weekly-deals-anna-retro-grade-the-journey-down/">Steam weekly deals: Anna, Retro/Grade, The Journey Down</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Jun 2013 21:30:00 EST. Games journalist Tom Francis has finally launched his side project <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gunpoint"><em>Gunpoint</em></a>. Steam is celebrating launch by knocking off a buck from the asking price until June 10, bringing <em>Gunpoint</em> down to $9; the special edition containing the soundtrack and in-game commentary is 25 percent off, down to $15.<br />
<br />
Francis, meanwhile, is celebrating with <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1flitt/gunpoint_the_stealth_game_ive_been_working_on_for/">an AMA on Reddit</a> today. Within, he's confirmed first-day sales are quite encouraging - an hour ago, he claimed it was the number one game on Steam's sales charts.<br />
<br />
<em>Gunpoint</em> is a <em>Deus Ex</em>-inspired spy game where players must rewire security systems using the Crosslink device - for example, it can be used to turn a light switch into a trap door controller. In <em>Gunpoint</em>, the goal is for players to infiltrate buildings and steal valuable data because <em>spies</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/03/psa-gunpoint-infiltrates-steam-today-discounted-until-june-10/">PSA: Gunpoint infiltrates Steam today, discounted until June 10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Jun 2013 17:30:00 EST. The latest <a href="http://www.indieroyale.com/">Indie Royale</a> bundle is now available for the current minimum price of $5.68. The Hammerhead bundle includes Owl Cave's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/richard-and-alice/"><em>Richard &amp; Alice</em></a>, <em>Primordia</em> by Wormwood Studios, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/pressure"><em>Pressure</em></a> by Chasing Carrots, <em>Forge</em> by Dark Vale Games and Pandora Studios' <em>Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage</em>. The bundle seems immediately worthwhile to us just for the inclusion of <em>Richard &amp; Alice</em> alone, per our recent <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/31/richard-and-alice-review/">review</a> of the game.<br />
<br />
Those that pay at least $8 for the Hammerhead bundle will also receive MY OK BBS' chiptune album <a href="http://myokbbs.bandcamp.com/album/its-not-great">It's Not Great</a>. There's also a mysterious sixth game in the bundle, likely to be revealed at a later time. The Indie Royale bundle is available on PC until June 7.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/01/indie-royale-hammerhead-bundle-includes-richard-and-alice-primo/">Indie Royale 'Hammerhead' bundle includes Richard &amp; Alice, Primordia and more</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 01 Jun 2013 16:30:00 EST. Those who sign up early for Overkill's latest heist, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/payday-2"><em>Payday 2</em></a>, will net themselves some additional in-game perks. Pre-ordering on either the Xbox 360 and PS3 will yield the Lootbag DLC pack, which includes a red dot weapon sight attachment, a trio of exclusive masks and a fistful of in-game cash.<br />
<br />
<em>Payday 2</em> pre-orders have been <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/23/payday-2-planning-an-august-heist-web-series-starts-in-two-week/">open on Steam for a week</a> now. The Lootbag DLC will go to those who pre-order the base version of the game, while the $50 Career Criminal Edition will net players the same incentives listed above, along with two beta keys, in-game blueprints, store discounts, and the full soundtrack from Simon Viklund (<em>Bionic Commando: Rearmed</em>).<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/31/payday-2-secures-pre-order-loot-on-xbox-360-ps3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Payday 2 secures pre-order loot on Xbox 360, PS3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/31/payday-2-secures-pre-order-loot-on-xbox-360-ps3/">Payday 2 secures pre-order loot on Xbox 360, PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 May 2013 20:30:00 EST. <br />
After securing a publisher for its first-person shooter <i>Paranautical Activity</i>, indie developer Code Avarice <a href="http://codeavarice.com/post/51780989352/support-paranautical-activity-on-steam-greenlight">claims</a> that it has been blocked from a direct Steam release due to a conflict with a previously launched Steam Greenlight campaign.<br />
<br />
Code Avarice <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93241332">submitted</a> <i>Paranautical Activity</i> to Steam Greenlight in August last year, and later entered talks with Adult Swim Games to assist with promotion and publishing. Code Avarice's Mike Maulbeck claims that Adult Swim's recent attempt to directly publish the game through Steam was turned down because Valve "didn't want to send the message that indies can seek out publishers to bypass Steam Greenlight."<br />
<br />
Maulbeck elaborates in the interview above, saying, "We just assumed that we would need Greenlight because everybody has to go through Greenlight now."<br />
<br />
Maulbeck continues: "Now we're just dead in the water. We've got a Greenlight campaign that we haven't touched in months, and we have to resurrect it from the ashes, because that's our only option at this point.<br />
<br />
"We can totally back out [of Adult Swim's publishing agreement] now if we want to," Maulbeck said. "We haven't officially decided if we want to go with them, but the fact that we have to get onto Steam [ourselves] is a real bummer."<br />
<br />
Addressing the situation, Valve's Doug Lombardi told <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/193403/Developer_claims_it_was_rejected_from_Steam__for_having_a_Greenlight_page.php">Gamasutra</a>, "We review Greenlight votes, reviews, and a variety of factors in the Greenlight process. However our message to indies regarding publishers is do it for your own reasons, but do not split your royalties with a publisher expecting an automatic 'Yes' on Greenlight."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/31/paranautical-activity-allegedly-blocked-from-steam-release-due-t/">Paranautical Activity allegedly blocked from Steam release due to Greenlight conflict</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 31 May 2013 18:00:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/wolfenstein-3d"><em>Wolfenstein 3D</em></a> is back on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in North America after a brief absence, and is coming to PSN in Europe soon. You can snag id's seminal shooter for $5 on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN or Steam.<br />
<br />
Activision had originally published <em>Wolfenstein 3D</em> on consoles just a few weeks after Bethesda <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/bethesda-parent-company-buys-id-software/">acquired id Software</a> in 2009. Bethesda's Pete Hines told Joystiq the re-rating was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/14/wolfenstein-3d-re-rated-by-esrb-gets-new-page-on-xblm/">a necessity</a> for both the ESRB and console manufacturers. "No changes. Was originally published through Activision, so now that it's reverted back to us we have to jump through ESRB (ratings go to the publisher, they don't "follow" the game to a new publisher) and console hoops (game has to be "re-certed" by the new publisher)."<br />

You can grab Remedy's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wake"><em>Alan Wake</em></a> for $3 on Steam this weekend, and if you toss in an extra buck you'll also get <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wakes-american-nightmare">Alan Wake's American Nightmare</a>. </em><br />
<br />
Weekend savings are also being extended to <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dmc-devil-may-cry">DmC: Devil May Cry</a>,</em><em> </em>available for $30. All will revert to regular price at 10am PT on Monday morning.<br />

Ahead of the <em>Shadow Warrior</em> reinvention, publisher Devolver Digital is giving away the original 1997 shooter for free on <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/238070/">Steam</a>. The controversial 3D Realms game, which used the same engine as <em>Duke Nukem 3D</em>, was originally going for free for a "limited time." However, according to the official Shadow Warrior Twitter account it's staying free-to-play "forever."<br />
<br />
Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog's <em>Shadow Warrior</em> comeback is due on PC this fall, and on next-gen consoles (as yet unspecified) next year. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/20/reinventing-shadow-warrior-for-the-modern-era/">recently caught up</a> with lead writer Jan Bartkowicz to see how the modern <em>Shadow Warrior </em>will compare to the original.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/29/shadow-warrior-classic-free-to-play-on-steam-forever/">Shadow Warrior Classic free-to-play on Steam 'forever'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 29 May 2013 13:00:00 EST. Steam's weekly deals kicked off yesterday, but players in the US were probably too busy lounging poolside with a plate full of hamburgers to notice - and hey, Steam users outside of the US could have been doing the same thing. It's cool; we don't judge.<br />
<br />
This week's Steam deals last until June 3 at 10 a.m. PT, and it's a big batch: <em>Greed: Black Border, Waking Mars, Papo &amp; Yo, They Bleed Pixels, The Guild 2, Angry Birds Space, The Adventures of Shuggy, Flatout: Complete Pack, Worms: Ultimate Mayhem</em> and <em>Tower Wars</em>. All of these games are up to 75 percent off, clickable <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/10697/">here</a>.<br />
<br />
And again, Steam's news post says these deals last <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/13/steam-weekly-deals-hitman-absolution-hydrophobia-anodyne/">until a day in the past</a>, this time "May 3." Don't tell anyone, and maybe we'll get these super sales for an entire year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/28/steam-weekly-they-bleed-pixels-papo-and-yo-shuggy-waking-mars/">Steam weekly: They Bleed Pixels, Papo &amp; Yo, Shuggy, Waking Mars</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 May 2013 23:30:00 EST. <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/awesomenauts"><em>Awesomenauts</em></a>, the 2D MOBA based on a Saturday morning cartoon that never existed, is now available on Linux. We <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/01/awesomenauts-review/#review">really liked the game</a> when it debuted a year ago on Xbox Live and PSN, and now the Steam version has seen numerous updates and extra characters.<br />
<br />
You can snag <em>Awesomenauts</em> <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/204300">on Steam</a> - compatible with PC, Mac and now Linux - for $10.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/28/awesomenauts-uses-its-power-wins-cosmic-glory-on-linux/">Awesomenauts uses its power, wins cosmic glory on Linux</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 28 May 2013 18:45:00 EST. Before reading the release date for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gunpoint"><em>Gunpoint</em></a>, the 2D stealth puzzle game from Suspicious Developments, take your finger off the trigger. <em>Gunpoint</em> launches on June 3 - that's next Monday - and it's available for pre-order now via <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/206190">Steam</a> and <a href="http://www.gunpointgame.com/">Humble Store</a>, each for 10 percent off or $9.<br />
<br />
The Special and Exclusive editions are also up for pre-order. The Special Edition is on sale for $15 and includes a DRM-free key for the game, a Steam code, the soundtrack and developer commentary. The Exclusive Edition is $30 via Humble and $27 on Steam, and it includes all of the aforementioned goodies, along with a 40-minute making-of video, a pack of prototype levels, four exclusive songs and access to future "secret betas" of Suspicious Developments games.<br />
<br />
The standard and Special editions are on sale via Humble for two weeks, while the steam sales are for one week. Keep in mind, all Humble purchases come with a Steam key and the developer gets a larger piece of the pie through that channel. Decide where you want to pull the trigger on <em>Gunpoint</em> - but seriously, keep your finger <em>off that trigger</em> while you're still on the fence. And probably after. And stop playing with guns while you're <em>on a fence</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/27/gunpoint-aims-for-a-june-3-launch-day-sales-abound/">Gunpoint aims for a June 3 launch day, sales abound</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 27 May 2013 17:30:00 EST. As promised, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dust-an-elysian-tail"><em>Dust: An Elysian Tail</em></a> has found its way to Steam today. Until May 31, you can grab <em>Dust</em> for <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/236090/">$13.50</a>, ten percent off its usual $15 asking price.<br />
<br />
The action-adventure RPG from Humble Heart made its debut on Xbox Live Arcade back in August as part of the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/19/xbla-summer-of-arcade-2012-detailed-tony-hawk-kick-flips-it-of/">Summer of Arcade</a> promotion. Despite how vast <em>Dust: An Elysian Tail</em> is, it's actually <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dust-an-elysian-tail">missing a third of its intended story</a>, which was cut due to the months of extra time it would've taken to finalize the larger vision. Even with the omitted content, <em>Dust: An Elysian Tail</em> turned out to be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/20/dust-an-elysian-tail-review-dusting-off-a-classic-formula/">a fine game</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/psa-dust-an-elysian-tail-explores-steam-today/">PSA: Dust: An Elysian Tail explores Steam today</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 May 2013 23:10:00 EST. Joe Danger's latest daredevil stunt is to ride both his games, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/joe-danger"><em>Joe Danger</em></a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/joe-danger-2-the-movie"><em>Joe Danger 2: The Movie</em></a>, onto PCs via Steam. UK indie studio Hello Games told us a number of tweaks are coming to the PC versions, including Big Picture Mode and Steamworks support. The latter is for the games' level editors. which on PC feature "all the secret controls" Hello Games used to build both tricksters.<br />
<br />
Both games will support gamepad, mouse and keyboard controls. Other tweaks and additions include ghost records of other players for <em>both</em> games, and new levels. Prices and release dates are still to come.<br />
<br />
"It's weird, PC is actually <em>Joe Danger</em>'s birthplace," Hello Games' Sean Murray told us. "We couldn't get hold of devkits when we started out, so I coded my first ever PC engine for the original <em>Joe Danger</em>, and we ended up developing the entire game on PC. I feel like the PC version has been brewing <em>forever</em> - but only played by four of us here in the office."<br />
<br />
We expect a few more people will be playing it when it comes to Steam. We gave the XBLA version of <em>Joe Danger 2: The Movie</em> a wheelie good four stars in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/14/joe-danger-2/">our review</a>, saying that it does the two things puzzle-racers should do: " tug at your need to beat them, and then tug at your need to beat them better."<br />

<em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/super-puzzle-platformer-deluxe">Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe</a>, </em>a crazy mix of <em>Tetris</em> and <em>Mega Man</em> created by developer Andrew Morrish and published by Adult Swim, comes to Steam later today. The project started as a Flash game (<a href="http://andrewmorrish.net/?page_id=313">playable for free</a>) in which you shoot groups of blocks that fall from above. <br />
<br />
The "Deluxe" part is new, with the game having evolved to include eight different characters, six worlds, and local head-to-head multiplayer. Full controller support is also included, so you can play <em>SPPD</em> through Steam's Big Picture mode.<br />
<br />
<em>Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe</em> is regularly priced at $7.99, though it'll be 25 percent off at launch. To celebrate, Adult Swim's also having a half-off sale on its first Steam release, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/17/super-house-of-dead-ninjas-is-free-from-adult-swim/"><em>Super House of Dead Ninjas</em></a>, next Tuesday, May 28. <p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/24/adult-swims-super-puzzle-platformer-deluxe-hitting-steam-soon/">Adult Swim's Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe hitting Steam soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 24 May 2013 03:00:00 EST. Downtrodden horror author Alan Wake stars in the latest <a href="http://www.humblebundle.com/weekly">Humble Weekly Sale</a>, which offers up downloadable Windows versions of Remedy's third-person shooter <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wake"><i>Alan Wake</i></a> and its follow-up <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/alan-wakes-american-nightmare"><i>American Nightmare</i></a> for a buyer-chosen price (minimum $1).<br />
<br />
Bundle buyers will receive DRM-free downloads of <i>Alan Wake: Collector's Edition</i> and <i>Alan Wake's American Nightmare</i>, along with Steam keys for both games. The package features a bevy of bonus material, including digital comic books, a playthrough video, and standalone episodes of the Remedy-produced "Night Springs" fictional television series - new episodes of which <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/night-springs">Joystiq debuted last year</a>.<br />
<br />
Xbox Live hosts its own Alan Wake series sale this week. Through May 29, the Xbox 360 Games on Demand version of <i>Alan Wake</i> is priced at 400 Microsoft points ($5), while the Xbox Live Arcade follow-up <i>American Nightmare</i> is a dollar cheaper at 320 points. Alan Wake DLC and avatar items are also on sale through next week.<br />
<br />
In the announcement video above, Remedy's Sam Lake (who you might recognize as Max Payne's face model) reveals that the Alan Wake series has sold over three million units to date, and addresses fan reaction to the company's decision to develop the upcoming Xbox One-exclusive title <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/21/quantum-break/"><em>Quantum Break</em></a>, rather than an Alan Wake sequel.<br />
<br />
"We definitely want to keep on working on Alan Wake," Lake assures. "I definitely want to create something new for Alan Wake, when the time is right."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/22/alan-wake-series-featured-in-humble-weekly-sale/">Alan Wake series featured in Humble Weekly Sale</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 22 May 2013 19:30:00 EST. Next week marks the Steam debut of Humble Heart's XBLA darling, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/dust-an-elysian-tail"><em>Dust: An Elysian Tail</em></a>. Dean Dodrill, animator and creator of Dust, took to <a href="https://twitter.com/NoogyTweet/status/335460463863271424">Twitter</a> to announce the May 24 launch date; though there is currently no Steam product page.<br />
<br />
 <em>Dust: An Elysian Tail</em> is a 2D action platformer in the vein of <em>Metroid</em> and <em>Castlevania</em>, featuring beautiful hand-drawn sprites throughout. Aside from being visually appealing, it's also a delight - a game <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/20/dust-an-elysian-tail-review-dusting-off-a-classic-formula/">our review</a> said "doesn't do much to innovate the platform-adventure sub-genre, but it does manage to look and play beautifully throughout, and sometimes that's enough."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/18/dust-an-elysian-tail-scampers-onto-steam-may-24/">Dust: An Elysian Tail scampers onto Steam May 24</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 18 May 2013 01:00:00 EST. <br />
The first community-created updated for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/team-fortress-2"><em>Team Fortress 2</em></a> has rolled out: 'Robotic Boogaloo.' Continuing the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/12/21/team-fortress-2-greets-the-season-with-the-mecha-update/">robot</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/11/mann-vs-machine-update-adds-new-difficulty-settings-and-matchmak/">theme</a> of previous <em>Team Fortress 2</em> updates, Robotic Boogaloo adds 57 new artisanal hats, helmets, bonnets, turbans, crowns, toppers and other headgear - all created by the community.<br />
<br />
Robotic Boogaloo isn't all hats but, naturally, it's <em>mostly hats</em>. Each new <em>Team Fortress 2</em> item can be found within RoboCrates - rare drops after June 3 - that can be opened with a key from the Mann Co. store, each costing $2.50. The revenue from these items will then be shared amongst <a href="http://www.teamfortress.com/roboticboogaloo/credits/">all creators</a> responsible for Robotic Boogaloo content.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/17/team-fortress-2-robotic-boogaloo-update-tangos-with-steam/">Team Fortress 2 'Robotic Boogaloo' update tangos with Steam</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 17 May 2013 23:59:00 EST. <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/the-swapper">The Swapper</a> </em>- the Indie Fund-ed, clay model-animated, puzzle platformer put together by a few Finnish university students - has been set to hit Steam on May 30. The game has a lone space explorer wandering an alien cave, with a "weapon" that allows him to create clones of himself to solve puzzles and move around.<br />
<br />
Facepalm has released a brand new trailer showing that gameplay and the title's excellent graphics, which were created by animating photos of actual clay. The initial release will be for PC, with Mac and Linux coming later, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/20/the-swapper-takes-a-spin-on-steam-this-spring/">and "maybe something else"</a> after that.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/the-swapper-switches-it-up-on-may-30/">The Swapper switches it up on May 30</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 19:30:00 EST. Steam revealed today that <i>Game Dev Tycoon, Bleed</i> and other standout titles are featured in <a href="http://steamcommunity.com/games/765/announcements/detail/1569781302750532884">the latest batch</a> of games to earn community approval and platform distribution rights through Steam Greenlight.<br />
<br />
Green Heart Games' simulation title <i>Game Dev Tycoon</i> earned a devoted following upon its release last month for its clever in-game approach to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/29/game-dev-tycoon-creator-punishes-pirates-with-in-game-bankruptcy/">anti-piracy protection</a>. Bootdisk Revolution's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/01/06/the-greenlight-series-kicks-off-with-steam-hopeful-bleed/"><i>Bleed</i></a>, a one-man effort that premiered for Windows and the Xbox Live Indie Games service late last year, combines frantically paced platforming with time-bending, quadruple-jumping gameplay mechanics.<br />
<br />
Other games to pass through the latest round of Greenlight approvals include ConcernedApe's open-ended RPG <i>Stardew Valley</i>, The Leonard's "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/08/riot-in-the-streets-at-a-desk-in-your-hand-an-indie-documenta/">playable documentary</a>" <i>Riot</i>, AustinHand's survival horror title <i>The Legend</i>, and Aterdux Entertainment's Kickstarted strategy-RPG <i>Legends of Eisenwald</i>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/game-dev-tycoon-bleed-riot-head-up-batch-of-six-at-steam-green/">Game Dev Tycoon, Bleed, Riot head up batch of six at Steam Greenlight</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 18:00:00 EST. "Hear ye, hear ye," the Newellville town crier bellowed out across the crowded, bustling market. "It is by royal decree, that for the 24 hours proceeding forthwith, respectable denizens of His Highness' Great Sovereign Nation of Valve may acquire the first two entries in the Mass Effect series of merrymaking programmes for <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/10623/">$9.99</a>."<br />
<br />
"Ad interim," the crier continued, "patrons may avail themselves of substantial discounts on select digital comestibles found within the Royal Steam Marketplace, making it possible to obtain a single issuance of <em>Borderlands 2</em> for <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/49520/">$13.59, or four for $40.79</a>, until May 20. In addition, <em>Counter-Strike: Global Offensive</em> will be <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/news/10621/">free for interested parties</a> through 1 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday. Should customers enjoy the experience, a 50 percent abatement will be applied to the purchase price."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/05/16/steam-borderlands-2-for-13-59-mass-effect-1-and-2-for-10-cs/">Steam: Borderlands 2 for $13.59, Mass Effect 1 and 2 for $10, CS:GO F2P weekend</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 16 May 2013 17:00:00 EST.
