Capcom offered a few photos and details about the statue, which you can view in the gallery below.<br /><br />The collectible character stands at 10 inches tall, and is made by Multiverse Studios. It features USB-powered LED lights on the statue's base as well as Mega Man's helmet and arm cannon. Capcom hasn't said exactly how many will be produced, but there will be under 2,000 of them made. It will go on sale exclusively at San Diego Comic Con in July. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mega-man-25th-anniversary-statue/">Mega Man (25th Anniversary Statue)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mega-man-25th-anniversary-statue/#5759900"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/mm-25-pax-statue01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mega-man-25th-anniversary-statue/#5759901"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/mm-25-pax-statue02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mega-man-25th-anniversary-statue/#5759902"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2013/03/mm-25-pax-statue03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/24/heres-that-mega-man-25th-anniversary-statue/">Here's that Mega Man 25th anniversary statue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 24 Mar 2013 14:30:00 EST. In life, sometimes you have to pay a little bit extra for beauty. Or, in the case of Pop Culture Shock's 19-inch, 11-pound statue of <em>Darkstalkers</em> brawler Lord Raptor, you have to pay $310 or $320 for one of <a href="https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&amp;sku=901425">two equally</a> <a href="https://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&amp;sku=9014251">hideous pieces</a> of game memorabilia. Listen, everyone -- your desk simply isn't <em>intimidating</em> enough. What you need, what you've got to have is an 11-inch statue of a muscle-bound future-marine. That's just one of the many, many bonuses include in the $150 Epic Edition of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/gears-of-war-3"><em>Gears of War 3</em></a>; a monstrous package that encapsulates the aforementioned statue; a 96-page book penned by Tom Bissell (author of "Extra Lives") about the art and design of the shooter; an "Octus Service Medal;" and everything else pictured above. (Is that Adam Fenix's will? It certainly is.)<br />
<br />
Shoppers will also have the option of purchasing the game's $80 Limited Edition, which includes the Service Medal, a COG flag, some Fenix family documents and an exclusive Adam Fenix multiplayer skin. No statue, though; so who's going to keep your mug full of pens from stepping out of line? Well, here we are. Until someone builds an entire, sustainable city out of construction paper and tissues, we're pretty sure we've witnessed the ultimate opus from the papercraft community: A life-size model of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/no-more-heroes"><em>No More Heroes</em></a> hero, Travis Touchdown. Check out this masterfully intricate, somewhat-upsetting-in-a-Max-Headroom-kind-of-way statue over on <a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/Life-Size-Paper-Travis-Touchdown/">Instructables</a>.<br />
<br />
While we know Travis Touchdown is a total dreamboat, we wouldn't recommend creating one of these on your own for <em>carnal purposes</em>. See, there'd be two major problems with that:<br />
<ol>
	<li>
		Papercuts</li>
	<li>
		That's really gross</li>

Gaming Heads' second <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/team-fortress-2">Team Fortress 2</a> </em>figurine will be the Soldier, as you may have gathered. Like <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/30/gaming-heads-to-create-line-up-of-collectibles-based-on-valve-pr/">the Heavy</a>, the Soldier will deploy in both BLU and RED varieties -- a limited run of 300 with an inter-switchable Direct Hit accessory and a run of 750 without will ship in Q3 2011. <br />
<br />
Oh, and of course neither will come cheap. The more limited version with the extra rocket launcher is an exorbitant $234.99, while the basic model is a <em>slightly less</em> exorbitant $219.99. Gaming Heads is currently taking pre-orders, if you're so inclined.<br />

The problem with reality is that you can't take a PitGirl or Assassin with you everywhere you go. Actually, you probably could, but that'd technically be kidnapping. Let's try that again: The problem with reality is that you can't lock your own PitGirl or Assassin in a room for you to ogle at your convenience. Okay, we're <em>really</em> bad at this.<br />
<br />
Clean slate: Uber Entertainment is <a href="http://store.uberent.com/collectible-statues/">finally offering figurines</a> based on characters in its XBLA game, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/09/review-monday-night-combat/"><em>Monday Night Combat</em></a>. $69.99 will net you a nine inch tall statue of either PitGirl, Assault or Assasin. The Tank is a bit taller at 10 inches <em>and</em> a bit pricier at $89.99.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/12/monday-night-combat-statues-are-looking-to-capture-your-money-ba/">Monday Night Combat statues are looking to capture your Money Ball</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 12 Nov 2010 08:30:00 EST. We know you've run short of things to place on your nightstand to fill you with mortal terror while you slumber. Might we suggest this 1/4-scale, 19" tall statuette modeled after <em>Street Fighter</em>'s ever-grinning antagonist, <a href="http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&amp;sku=901071">M. Bison</a>? <div style="text-align: left;">Yeah, we see you staring. And why wouldn't you? This <a href="http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?p=1357851#post1357851">Sideshow Collectibles statue</a> dubbed "Snow Day" is more than easy on the eyes. But this isn't some Saturday night good-time girl, man. This is Lara Croft we're talking about here. <em>Lady</em> Lara Croft. If you want to make her yours, you're going to need to pull out all the stops.<br />
<br />
In this case "all the stops" translates to $250. Now, we know that's a big commitment, but she's also not available yet, so you have a little time to decide if you're ready to take the plunge. We have a suspicion, though, that she's worth every penny.<br />

It would be cool enough to see a ten-minute-long video showing a man carving an intricate statue of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/bioshock-2"><em>BioShock 2</em>'s</a> Big Daddy out of a tree using a chainsaw. That coolness factor is multiplied by ten when the person doing the carving is dressed up like known overnight camp murderer, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Voorhees">Jason Voorhees</a>. A video like that would finally prove that the prolific butcher has a <em>sensitive side</em>, capable of creating lovely, intricate works of art with his manslaughter instruments.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HCTNmBXPKU">Such a video exists</a>, dear friends, and is posted after the jump. You should check it out, because, <em>man</em>, tree carving is surprisingly hypnotic.<br />

deviantArt is usually the site you go to if you want to see uncomfortable, sexual doodles of anime characters and other such nonsense. Today, it's become the place to see the most badass Eddie Riggs homage known to man. In fact, we're pretty sure user hugohugo sold his soul to Satan for the ability to craft such <a href="http://hugohugo.deviantart.com/art/Brutal-Legend-Custom-Figure-149441496">a magnificent resemblance</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/brutal-legend"><em>Br&uuml;tal Legend</em></a>'s protagonist.<br />
<br />
Compared to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/brutal-legends-eddie-riggs-figurine/2155423/full/">the official alternative</a>, we have to say we dig hugohugo's a bit more. It's got <em>character</em> and is entirely posable -- even the fingers move for <em>wicked</em> faux-solos!<br />

Make space on your gaming shrine because this limited edition Ken statue is big; 19.5" inches on its base, big. Getting this Ken statue to hover over your gaming library comes at quite a price, though. Sporting a $250 price-tag, this statue is limited to a run of 300 figures. In preparation of <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Street-Fighter-IV/">Street Fighter IV's</a></em> release, this figure will be made available in the<span style="text-align: left; font-size: 12px; padding-right: 5px;"> USA through <a href="http://www.SideshowCollectibles.com">SideshowCollectibles.com</a> beginning January 29th and in specialty retail stores. Figures begin shipping in June. Collectors may want to hold out because Sideshow Collectibles will release its own variant of the figure limited to 150 units. Despite being the most expensive item <em>ever</em> in the European <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/club-nintendo">Club Nintendo</a> shop (15,000 Star Points, thank you), it sold out in the blink of a Goron's eye.<br /><br />How rare is this, exactly? Our guess: pretty damn rare. We've <em>never</em> seen one on eBay. But now it's back in stock, chintzier than ever, and ready for some lucky collectors to swipe. It's still 15,000 Star Points, and we suspect this latest batch will go quickly, so long as somebody out there has resisted splurging their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/club-nintendo-awesomeness/1075104/">Star Points on Wii Points</a>.<br /><br />How about you, North Americans? Would something like this catch your eye when Club Nintendo launches in your neck of the woods <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/15/first-club-nintendo-u-s-details-unexpectedly-awesome/">later this year</a>?<br /><br />

A 7'10" (2.38 meter) tall "<a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/fallout-3">Brotherhood of Steel</a>" statue is currently on auction at the <a href="http://auctions.samsclub.com/scripts/ListingInfo.asp?LotNo=79620374">Sam's Club site</a>. The bidding for the 121 lbs. Wahey! Yeah, we know that Japan (<em>generally</em> speaking) gets the most excellent items when compared to elsewhere, but listen here, bub: it's <em>free stuff</em>. We're not about to complain, and nor should you (if you want to feel sorry for somebody, Australia's Club Nintendo scheme has <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/25/australian-club-nintendo-still-not-functional/">gone AWOL</a>, and check out South Africa's piss-poor <a href="http://www.nintendo.co.za/NOE/en_ZA/club_nintendo/stars_catalogue_5823.html">Stars Catalogue</a>).<br /><br />Anyway, as these are happy times for North Americans, we thought we'd reflect on some of the <em>bestest</em> Club Nintendo gifts and trinkets from both Japan and Europe to date -- some of which <em>could </em>end up in the U.S.! <p>Character design and concept art are two areas in which <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/03/mushroom-men-multiply-with-new-screens/">Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars</a></em> excels, and the free gifts for those who <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/preorder">preorder</a> the game use both extensively.</p>
<p>Those who reserve a copy at Gamestop will be able to claim the "life-size" statuette above, as well as a pack of eleven <em>Mushroom Men</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mushroom-men-the-spore-wars/948578/full/">trading cards</a> (a twelfth comes with the game itself) featuring the title's diverse range of enemies. The "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mushroom-men-the-spore-wars/948572/full/">Jackalope</a>" has ensured that we shall not sleep easily tonight.</p>
<p>It's probably worth mentioning that a further eleven cards will be offered to those who preorder <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/15/e308-mushroom-men-puts-the-fun-in-fungus/">Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi</a></em> on the DS, as well as a superb <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/02/les-claypool-puts-a-funky-groove-on-mushroom-men/">Les Claypool</a>/<em>Mushroom Men</em> poster. Red Fly's customized <em>Mushroom Men</em> VW Bus is not, alas, a preorder perk, but it is <em>rad</em>. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/mushroom-men-the-spore-wars/948240/full/">Take a look</a>.</p>

First 4 Figures has come back around full circle, after completing <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/03/04/new-from-first-4-figures-sheik/">Sheik</a> and <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/first4figures-new-toys-feature-pre-attitude-sonic/">Sonic and his pals</a>, now they've got <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/19/zero-suit-samus-the-figurine/">yet another Samus</a> statue. This one, in our opinion, totally trumps all of their past efforts. Just <em>look at the thing</em>.<br /><br />Of course, the catch is that this <em>costs a bunch of money</em>. $224.99 in money, to be exact. For those of you with a winning lottery ticket, this goes on sale Q1 of next year.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/10/phazon-suit-samus-statue-is-ridiculously-nice/">Phazon Suit Samus statue is ridiculously nice</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 10 Jul 2008 20:00:00 EST. <br />First reason to be hyped about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shiren-the-wanderer" style="font-style: italic;">Shiren the Wanderer: The Sleeping Princess in the Clockwork Palace's</a> release, even though no one has announced a U.S. localization yet -- <span style="font-style: italic;">Famitsu's</span> review score: 35/40 (9 / 9 / 8 / 9). Though many consider <span style="font-style: italic;">Famitsu</span> to be too forgiving with its reviews for highly advertised, big-budget games, the <span style="font-style: italic;">Shiren</span> series doesn't seem to fit that description. For such a niche game to receive a high score like this, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Chunsoft/">Chunsoft</a> must have done something right!<br /><br />Second reason -- See Asuka model pictured above (and past the break). We're not the type to leave figures of female anime characters posed around our rooms, giving women even more reason to run away from the mess we've made of our lives, but as we demonstrated with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/shiren-the-wanderer">Koppa remote stand preorder bonus</a>, we have a weakness to <span style="font-style: italic;">Shiren</span> merchandise. <br /><br />As for our third reason, swing your sword to check for traps, and step past the break for a new <span style="font-style: italic;">Shiren 3</span> commercial. It features a collection of player deaths set to Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 -- what's not to like?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/three-things-to-get-you-excited-about-shiren-3/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Three things to get you excited about Shiren 3</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/05/28/three-things-to-get-you-excited-about-shiren-3/">Three things to get you excited about Shiren 3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 28 May 2008 14:00:00 EST. For those of you who're fans of the Sonic of yesteryear (you know, back when he was limited to 16-bit romps and what we consider to be his best game, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_cd"><em>Sonic CD</em></a>), you'll be happy to hear that First4Figures is working on a Sonic statue to end all Sonic statues. Modeled after the original Sonic, this statue will likely be at the top of any diehard's wish list. <br /><br />Following up their <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/09/15/samus-figurines-drop-jaws/">previous</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/16/first-metroid-prime-hunters-statue-revealed/"><em>Metroid Prime Hunters</em> statues</a>, they'll be working on these until completion in July of this year, when you'll be able to get your hands on Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. No word as of now on price, though.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/first4figures-announces-classic-sonic-vinyl-line/">Joystiq</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/05/first4figures-to-make-statues-of-sonic-and-gang/">First4Figures to make statues of Sonic and gang</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 05 Feb 2008 18:00:00 EST. However it looks slightly off-model to us. Mario's appearance has <a href="http://www.quarterarcade.com/img/vol0/1205_0_pf.jpg">changed</a> <a href="http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/data/thumbnails/5/DKJr_Sideart.jpg">many</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/02/super-paper-mario-on-paper/">times</a> <a href="http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/2007/10/07/boxart-breakdown-super-mario-bros-2/">over</a> <a href="http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/2007/11/25/boxart-breakdown-super-mario-64/">the</a> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/24/super-mario-galaxy-versus-super-mario-sunshine/">years</a>, and this piece doesn't quite seem consistent with any of them. <br />If this is really what the seller says it is, it's an amazing and unique collectible that represents an <em>ideal Mario</em>. If not, it's ... actually still a pretty neat Mario statue, though it has a busted arm. That would probably be easy enough to fix.<br /><br />Also found on GameSniped today: a <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&amp;PID=2189540&amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2FNintendo-Candy-Machine-from-1970-Pre-video-Game-Toy-JPN_W0QQitemZ350017337718QQihZ022QQcategoryZ187QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem">cotton candy machine</a> made by a pre-video-game Nintendo. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gamesniped.com/2008/01/23/nintendo-candy-machine-and-mario-statue-turbografx-complete-collection/">GameSniped</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/01/23/own-the-true-mario-maybe/">Own the true Mario, maybe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 23 Jan 2008 17:00:00 EST. You know what's missing from your living room? A glistening four-foot statue of Mario with eyes that will <em>follow you</em> everywhere that you go. Note that we're putting this in <em>your</em> living room? That's because, as much as we like Mario, we're not sure we'd want it in <em>ours</em>. Collectibles are great and all, and we're big fans, but crazy price aside ... we're just not sure this particular treasure is for us.<br /><br />He's got his eyes on you. And he's just so <em>cheerful</em>. We sit here, lonely, in our sparse, desolate office, yearning for an inanimate mascot character to talk to. But we're all lucky that you <em>didn't</em> go to such an expense for us, because we like this Fire Mario one better.<br /><br />The red-and-white Fire Mario statue comes in at the same 50 cm height as (<a href="http://mgrsti3030s.seamlesstech.biz/templates/frmTemplateR.asp?CatalogID=13131&amp;SearchYN=N&amp;subFolderID=179">the smaller iteration of</a>) its predecessor, but in a more <em>powerful</em> outfit. As we all know, <a href="http://www.madame-tussauds.com/">Madame Tussauds</a> isn't into real men, she likes them completely waxed. Godfree over at GameTagRadio <a href="http://www.gamertagradio.com/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=5105">received</a> the photo above, which comes from a listener who apparently snapped it while taking a tour of Madame Tussauds wax museum in London, showing what appears to be Master Chief in development.<br /><br />It definitely looks like the Master Chief, but for the sake of Cortana, the spy couldn't angle the camera up a couple more degrees and get the head? It looks like a bad fuzzy pic on an internet "dating" site. If it is the Master Chief, we're sure there'll be an announcement very soon -- only a couple more weeks before the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Halo3/">fight is finished</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/03/rumor-master-chief-getting-waxed-for-madame-tussauds/">Rumor: Master Chief getting waxed for Madame Tussauds</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 12:30:00 EST. As we prepare to enter <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/BioShock/">BioShock'</a></em>s city of Rapture on Aug. 21, we now get to view the final version of the Big Daddy figurine which will be bundled with the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/24/whos-your-big-daddy-bioshock-limited-edition-deets/">limited edition</a> version of the game. The figurine looks pretty cool and the limited edition is only $10 more ($69.99) than the normal game -- seems totally worth it for the <a href="http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/finalbdfigure.html">six-inch hand-painted resin statue</a>.<br /><br />It's neat to see the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/05/24/drill-instructor-meet-bioshocks-big-daddy-figurine/">evolution</a> of the figurine. The prototype looked good, but this looks like something we'd really like to have keeping watch over our Xbox 360. Now we just need a little sister hugging his leg. <br /><br />[Thanks Jubby]<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/">BioShock Big Daddy figurine</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/#252684"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/chrisgrant_joystiq_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/#252696"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bdback_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/#252685"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bdfinalback_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/#252687"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bdfinalfront_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/bioshock-big-daddy-figurine/#252680"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/05/bdfinalside_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/06/18/big-daddys-final-look-for-bioshock-limited-edition/">Big Daddy's final look for BioShock limited edition</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Jun 2007 18:54:00 EST. Importers extraordinaire <a href="http://www.ncsx.com">NCSX</a> are offering this five-foot tall Mario statue, usually available only to stores, to normal people like us for the low, low price of $3000 plus shipping. Since we're not sure when <em>Super Smash Bros. Brawl</em> is scheduled to assault us, it's hard to say with any certainty that the above Zero Suit Samus statue -- designed by the prolific folks at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/first4figures/">First4Figures</a> -- will be ready in time for its launch. With a Q3 '07 release date for the statue, it seems likely that you'll be able to have one before <em>Brawl</em> drops featuring the very same Zero Suit Samus as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._Brawl#Samus_Aran">a playable character</a>. So, why all the concern about getting the statue first? We see it a couple different ways. First: what better way to reward the household's (world's?) reigning <em>Super Smash Bros.</em> champion than to bestow upon them a large (and, at $110, rather extravagant) statue? Oh, and second: you can always practice your moves by getting one of those <em>Metal Gear Solid 4</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/06/metal-gear-solid-4-snake/">Snake statues</a> and forcing them to fight to the death ... after making them kiss ... like you weren't thinking that anyways.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/first4figures-zero-suit-samus/">First4Figures Zero Suit Samus</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/first4figures-zero-suit-samus/#163213"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/02/first4figures-zerosuitsamus-01_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/first4figures-zero-suit-samus/#163214"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/02/first4figures-zerosuitsamus-02_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/first4figures-zero-suit-samus/#163212"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2007/02/first4figures-zerosuitsamus-03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/19/metroid-zero-suit-samus-statue-requires-intense-scanning/">Metroid Zero Suit Samus statue -- requires intense scanning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 19 Feb 2007 17:12:00 EST. Nintendo of Canada is having a contest between now and Jan. 31, the grand prize is a "limited edition life-size collectible statue of the character Link from the <em>Legend of Zelda</em>." Approx. value is $500 CDN ($425 USD). Three second prize winners get a Link "statuette." <br /><br />Here's a weak part for the grand winner: "Delivery charges are the sole responsibility of each winner." So, not only do you have to win Link, but you've got to ship his "life-size" self. No details on Link's height or weight. We wish there was a bigger photo to show, but that's all we've got. Beware the pointy ears though, you'll poke your eye out.<br /><br />[Thanks Cody]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/06/ohhhh-canada-you-could-win-a-giant-link/">Ohhhh Canada, you could win a giant Link</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 06 Jan 2007 12:25:00 EST. This time it's not the <a href="http://www.first4figures.com/product_details.asp?range=19&amp;id=43">growth-hormone abusing Fierce Deity Link</a> or the creepy <a href="http://www.first4figures.com/product_details.asp?range=19&amp;id=46">Skull Kid</a>, but the hunky all-<strike>American</strike>Hylian <em>Ocarina of Time</em> Link, adult version. Think of it more like the collectible statues in <em>Wind Waker</em>, except you don't need to take pictures of people to get them ... and you don't have to find a sculptor's hidden underground lair.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/08/ocarina-of-time-adult-link-collectible-statue/">Ocarina of Time adult Link collectible statue</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 08 Dec 2006 09:55:00 EST. Sure, the latter is a much smaller group -- easily dwarfed by <em>Ocarina</em> fans waving its 40/40 score in <em>Famitsu</em> magazine ("the first game to do so," they helpfully remind you) -- but First 4 Figures sent word that <em>Majora's</em> Fierce Deity Link would be the first in their lineup of <em>Legend of Zelda</em> figurines, undoubtedly beating out the much anticipated <em>Ocarina</em> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time_characters#Ingo">Ingo</a> figurine. At 14.5" tall, and $130, this thing is collectors only, we're afraid. Wouldn't want you recreating the epic showdown with Majora and busting your sword, y'know?<br /><br /><strong>See also: </strong><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/10/colossal-figurine-at-1-150-scale/">Colossal figurine ... at 1/150 scale</a><br /><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/16/collectible-metroid-statue-wheres-samus/">Collectible Metroid statue</a><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/07/majoras-mask-fierce-deity-link-figurine/">Majora's Mask Fierce Deity Link figurine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Aug 2006 08:57:00 EST. C.K. received his figurine and managed to throw 65 images onto his <a href="http://flickr.com/photos/cksample3/sets/72157594213204782/">Flickr account</a>. He writes:<br /><br /><em>"I designed a Spore creature while I was at E3, and the nice people at EA were kind enough to make it into a little 3-D figurine like the ones they had sitting around their booth and ship it to me. It has two heads, one bird-like and the other more like a moose, with large fighting arms."</em><br /><br />Three readers also tipped us off to three separate works discussing the future availability of mail-order <em>Spore</em> creatures. Clayton sent in a link to a <em>Discover Magazine</em> <a href="https://www.discover.com/issues/aug-06/features/willwright/">article</a> that reveals, <span id="article_text"><span>"In <em>Spore</em>, a player can animate any creature imaginable; for a fee, it can be made into a three-dimensional reality." For a fee, eh? <br /><br />Darius pointed us to <em>Next Generation</em>, who <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/innovate/content/jul2006/id20060720_289503.htm?campaign_id=bier_innlt0">speculate</a> "it is likely that a model-making service (which will probably require payment) will be available when the game appears." So don't be jealous. If the stars align just so, we'll all have our very own <em>Spore</em> figurines come Q2 2007.<br /><br />Matt noted the following paragraph while reading<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401302378/103-0126554-3745457?v=glance&amp;n=283155">The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business Is Selling Less of More</a> by <em>Wired Magazine</em>'s Chris Anderson: "Will Wright, the legendary video-game designer, is putting the finishing touches on his next game, <em>Spore</em>. In it, you'll be able to evolve your own creature, imbuing it with traits and characteristics of your own design. If you like your work, you'll be able to upload your creation to the Spore servers. And then, for about $20, you can have it 3D printed onto a real action figure - colors, texture, and all. Each one is unique and will show up at your front door in a week or two." This is the first time we're seeing a price ... and $20 sounds reasonable to us. Does that include shipping, guys?<br /><br />[Thanks for the links, <a href="http://verveproductions.net">Clayton</a> and <a href="http://tinysubversions.blogspot.com/">Darius</a> ... and Matt!]<br /><br />[update 1: Added the bits from <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401302378/103-0126554-3745457?v=glance&amp;n=283155"><em>The Long Tail</em></a>. And again when he got to see Robin Williams <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/05/11/joystiq-video-wired-spore-event-featuring-will-wright-and-robi/">crack jokes</a> while making his own creature at that <em>Wired</em> party.<br /><br />Well, our jealousy was rekindled when, after some months, Randall's friendly neighborhood UPS guy rang his bell to deliver a <em>Spore</em> figurine identical to the character he had designed at E3. They should definitely have a service so consumers can order their own custom figurine. More pics after the break.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/26/our-one-of-a-kind-spore-figurine/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Our one of a kind Spore figurine</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/07/26/our-one-of-a-kind-spore-figurine/">Our one of a kind Spore figurine</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 26 Jul 2006 12:55:00 EST. We've been spending most of our free time feeding <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2006/02/27/shadow-of-the-adorable-colossus/">this dog</a> radioactive kibble in a poorly thought out plan to make him 100 feet tall. Every night, we lay out an oversized bowl, filled to the brim with a dangerous concoction of kibble laced with some radioactive waste that Ludwig found out back. Every night the dog eats it and every morning he's the same size. Not sure that radioactive waste is radioactive at all. On to Plan B: <br />
<br />
We'll instead focus our efforts on shrinking <em>ourselves</em> and then ascend this 195mm (that's about 7.7", yanks) <em>Shadow of the Colossus</em> figurine and plunge our (now shrunken) swords into its dense resin exterior. 'Course we'll need to order the thing from Japan first and, at ,290 (that's about $90, everyone), it's not coming cheap. Compared to the rough numbers we've been putting together, it's the shrinking machine and not the figurine that's going to set us back. <br />
