Tatsunoko vs Capcom no longer being sold due to rights lapse

Capcom's deal with Japanese animation company Tatsunoko Productions has expired. As a result, says Capcom Senior VP Christian Svensson, the company can no longer sell physical or digital copies of Wii fighter Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

Capcom published the Eighting-developed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on the Wii back in 2010. Svensson also seems to imply "slim" chances for a Wii U version, unless Capcom and Tatsunoko strike up a new deal.

Capcom taking pre-orders for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick bundles

No, not bundles of actual sticks, but bundles of the Wii fighter Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and its special edition FightStick. Should you desire a copy of the game and the artwork laden stick, the bundle will set you back $124.95 at the Capcom Store. Taking the individual prices of each product -- $49.99 for the game, $79.99 for the stick -- the bundle will save you a whopping five dollars. So yeah, it's not exactly the most amazing deal in the world, though we suppose it does save you the hassle of dealing with two boxes.

Capcom reveals GamesCom 2009 lineup, safety hazard

Capcom has dropped word on the titles it plans to feature at the GamesCom Conference in Cologne later this month, and (for the most part) the games feature a hearty scoop of violence. Kicking things off with the oft-delayed Dark Void, Capcom will feature Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All Stars, Monster Hunter Tri and Spyborgs for the Wii, along with Lost Planet 2 and MotoGP 09/10 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

To promote the Rocketeer/alien battle simulator Dark Void, Capcom is hosting an event in which attendees can take flight in the Dark Void Body Flying Machine, a rigged, vertically-oriented airstream shooting gamers into the air at speeds of up to 180km/h. Luckily, Capcom is also sponsoring taxis throughout Cologne, so if something goes wrong during its "sounds like a tremendous idea on paper" gamer cannon event, attendees can make their way safely to the emergency room. GamesCom runs from August 19-23 in Cologne, Germany.

Uncharted 2 crowned Best of E3 in Game Critics Awards

The winners of the annual Best of E3 Game Critics Awards have been announced, with Uncharted 2 taking home the gold as "Best of Show." Not only that, but the game was also awarded "Best Console Game" and "Best Action/Adventure Game," taking the lead with three wins. Check out the trailer above (yes, again) for a good indication of why Uncharted 2 was handed the grand prize.

Meanwhile, Scribblenauts also got the recognition it deserved, coming in second with two awards for "Best Original Game" and "Best Handheld Game." No other games received multiple awards, though Valve recaptured the "Best Online Multiplayer" award with Left 4 Dead 2 a year after its predecessor did the same in 2008. While EA's Brütal Legend is nowhere to be seen in the list of winners, EA did take home more wins than any other publisher (three, if you're curious). And while the PS3-exclusive Uncharted 2 took top honors, from a console perspective the Xbox 360 edged out the PS3 by a single win, at eight versus seven.
