Speaking to Digital Spy, producer Glenn Gamble confirmed the game is headed onto Nintendo's new platform, along with the European release date. A North American arrival remains limited to a '2013' window. We've reached out to publisher Activision for more details.

Gamble said developer Terminal Reality wanted to "augment" the game on Wii U rather than alter it. That augmentation comes via "more streamlined" inventory management on the GamePad.

"We didn't want to change the game," said Gamble, "because the game had already been established, so we tried to say 'What can we augment with the Wii U version?' That's where it's basically a more elegant inventory management system. With the Wii U you have access to your backpack at all times, so you can tag what weapons you want, you can drop stuff. It's a lot more streamlined."
Walking Dead FPS shambling onto Wii U, gnaws on Europe March 29 [update: NA Mar. 26] originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 10 Jan 2013 09:00:00 EST. It's the first new-media extrapolation to be based on something based on The Walking Dead, rather than on the graphic novel itself, which is probably a smart move when a game directly from the comic has already proven extremely successful.

All that said, Survival Instinct integrates AMC's TV show directly, grabbing Norman Reedus, the actor who plays Daryl Dixon, to voice the main protagonist.

"Norman is super-cool, generous, and a real joy to work with," writes Terminal Reality Creative Director Drew Haworth. "And man, does that guy deliver! He gets the scene, the line, and what you're going for instantly and then doubles down on it, effortlessly 'Darylizing' lines for maximum punch. He's the kind of actor that really makes writers look good."

From our own experience with the TV show, we have to agree with that last statement. No one on The Walking Dead nails "looking dramatically at another cast member, in silence, for five whole minutes" quite like Reedus.
The Walking Dead TV show's Norman Reedus is Daryl in the FPS originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 02 Dec 2012 16:30:00 EST. Rather than drawing from the source material of Robert Kirkman's graphic novels, Activision wants Terminal Reality to create a game from the AMC television series based on the comic, separating it from Telltale Games' episodic, action point-and-click installment of The Walking Dead.

"When Activision approached us to help them make The Walking Dead game based off the AMC's TV series, the whole team went crazy," Terminal Reality creative lead Angel Gonzalez writes on the PlayStation Blog. "We are all fans of the show and couldn't wait to get our hands on it. Immediately the team knew that an FPS game based on The Walking Dead was something we wanted to help bring the fans." We assume he means fans of the television series only, since fans of the comic aren't necessarily the same people who enjoy the TV show.

The Walking Dead FPS will focus on the zombies as "walkers," as they're called in the show, and will require players to be specifically aware of the sounds they produce, whether when firing weapons or traveling through an area.

"In the game, you'll need to carefully sneak into and out of some dangerous situations and you may meet a few Walkers along the way," Gonzalez says. "If you show up with guns blazing, you'll quickly find yourself dealing with a much larger crowd and you could easily become overwhelmed."

Walkers will also track humans by their scent. The longer a player stands still, the larger his scent radius becomes, eventually traveling outside of buildings and down streets to lure in masses of the undead. Just like McDonald's does.
The Walking Dead FPS has zombies sniff, sound you out originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 09 Jul 2012 16:00:00 EST. As in, "Here's a necklace of zombie ears," which might be a bit less disgusting if it weren't a necklace of human ears. San Diego Comic-Con attendees can snag the gruesome jewelry by rushing over to Activision's booth and (ugh) pre-ordering the upcoming Terminal Reality-developed Walking Dead FPS.

Only the first 100 on-site pre-orders get the "extremely limited edition version of Daryl's 'walker ears' necklace," so, uh, don't rush if you don't want the super creepy necklace. Activision announced its own game based on the franchise (the TV show, specifically), which will be a first-person shooter developed by Terminal Reality. It's due next year for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Players take the role of Daryl Dixon, traveling with his brother Merle toward Atlanta, attempting not to get zombitten on the way. An IGN post about the game suggests players will have the option of using stealth to avoid the zombies, and will have to manage scarce resources. In addition, other characters will appear, and you'll have the choice to have them travel with you or not. Our tip: if they're zombies, don't invite them along.
The Walking Dead becoming an FPS from Terminal Reality originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 13:25:00 EST. EMI is looking for compensation on 54 songs from Def Jam Rapstar's total tracklist, and with EMI looking for upwards of $150,000 for each "infringement" that total tab is looking mighty steep. In the worst case, that brings us to total of $8.1 million.

The karaoke aspect of Def Jam Rapstar, and its online video-sharing capabilities, also make this dispute trickier, since EMI owns the rights to display, publicly perform and distribute these songs. Please excuse us while we try to get Richard a good lawyer in case EMI targets us next.
EMI sues Def Jam Rapstar creators originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 31 Mar 2012 01:30:00 EST. Remember when you used to play Star Wars with your friends in the schoolyard, pretending to choke people with your mind? Well Star Wars Kinect doesn't quite allow for that (at least that we've seen), but it does allow for some bit of arm waving verisimilitude. See how silly you'll look, just after the break.
Continue reading Kinect Star Wars trailer is exactly what you'd think

Kinect Star Wars trailer is exactly what you'd think originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 06 Jun 2011 23:40:00 EST. Don't you want a Kinect game in which you use your hands to do that Jedi mind trick thing? Well ... we don't know if that's in Kinect Star Wars. But at least we know some of the other Star Warsy things you do with hand motion thanks to Entertainment Weekly, who just took the wraps off of the new Xbox 360 game (which was first announced during E3 last year).

In several different gameplay modes, up to two players use gestures to lift objects with the Force, swing a lightsaber, drive a podracer, fly an X-Wing, and, according to the video on EW, defend themselves against the lasers that are flying out of the TV. The game also includes some unspecified "voice component," which we're going to pretend is an expansive C-3P0 minigame about saying "Oh my!" to things.

In addition to these experiences, there's a "Jedi Destiny" mode, being shown at E3, which sounds more story-driven. You play one of a selection of new characters made for the game, through sequences set in movie environments from both trilogies.
'Kinect Star Wars' details Forced out into the open originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 05 Jun 2011 21:45:00 EST. We've heard some horror stories about the arduous nature of the Xbox Live certification process, but whoa man, this is a little excessive. Do you guys remember back when they made a video game interpretation of the Ghostbusters franchise like, a hundred years ago? Well, the 360 version of that game had some niggling issues preventing users from unlocking four of the game's multiplayer Achievements -- issues that were fixed in a patch which went live earlier this week, some eighteen months after the game's initial release.

Of course, we're only assuming the certification process is to blame for the patch's late arrival. Maybe it just took that long for developer Terminal Reality to fix these problems. Or maybe Slimer was up to his old tricks, delaying the dev team with his incorporeal shenanigans.
Xbox 360 Ghostbusters patch fixes broken Achievements originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 03 Dec 2010 14:30:00 EST. Who you gonna call? Your friends, to tell them they'd best hit Amazon straight away if they've shown any interest in Atari's Ghostbusters for PS3, Wii or Xbox 360. But Terminal Reality is going to give Xbox 360 players a reason to start busting ghosts in multiplayer again, with a patch that fixes glitches in the multiplayer Achievements. That means that, following the update, you should be able to get the "Egon's Guinea Pig" Achievement! Tell your mood slime -- it'll be thrilled!

You'll just ... have to wait a little longer. According to the announcement on TR's Facebook page, the patch is "currently awaiting approval for distribution, which is likely to coincide with the Xbox 360 firmware update this Fall."

Essentially everything you need to know about Def Jam Rapstar's gameplay can be seen in the video after the break, in which I square off with Def Jam Enterprises' James Waller. If throwing your dignity out the window and throwing down in a singing contest is your idea of a good time -- and it is for me -- you'll have a lot of fun with Rapstar. Incidentally, the game features more than just rap; pretty much anything in the hip hop / R&B realm is fair game. 4mm Games marketing director Devin Winterbottom told me that Def Jam secured rights for over 200 tracks from various labels -- including Aftermath, Death Row, Sony and Warner -- and the plan is to release weekly DLC after the game launches later this year.
At the risk of being repeatedly pawnched, we think we can accurately describe all of Uwe Boll's video game-based films as "wretched." However, we've got a theory for why that is -- his attempt to adhere to the plot of these games limited his otherwise limitless directing potential. Fortunately, that won't be a problem on his next film project: Bloodrayne 3: Warhammer, a film based on a video game which does not exist.

We'll contact Majesco to find out if this means another Bloodrayne title is secretly in the works -- but let's be honest, now. This sounds a lot like some good ol' fashioned Bollnanigans. Bollshines. Bollduggery.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]
Uwe Boll is adapting everyone's favorite video game, Bloodrayne 3 originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 22 Nov 2009 11:30:00 EST. Wait a minute. Now we're confused. We thought one of the major development incentives for joining the motion revolution was to conserve resources in the production department. When your players are busy flailing and flapping -- surging with euphoric endorphins -- they don't exactly notice that you've scaled back on the fancy schmancy rendering and physics; all that excessive cutting edge tech. Heck, they'd barely notice if you repurposed and resold them a game you'd made 5 years ago.

Motion control, man, it's about getting back to our roots -- a simpler time -- when games were, like, about connecting with our bodies, you know? So when we caught wind of a job opportunity posted by Ghostbusters developer Terminal Reality and calling for experienced Xbox Live programmers to create "an exciting AAA Natal title," we were sorta like, whoa, guys, you're kinda missing the point.

Check this: "If you have a passion to create seriously high-quality action/adventure titles, we're interested in hearing from you!" Really ... passion? That makes it sound like there will be sweat involved -- that's the players' job now. You guys gotta dial it down, maybe dig up some of that old BloodRayne code, put a little "kick-punch-slap" control in there ... Save. Press. Box. Ship. Done.
We had to ration out quotes and references to the Ghostbusters films in our posts, working tirelessly not to exhaust our resources. We made it to the game's release by the skin of our teeth -- but earlier today, Atari did us the great discourtesy of announcing that the title is coming to PSP. It's got a launch window of November, meaning you can look forward to a month of uncreative, reference-free posts from our end. Just make sure you don't ... cross the ... oh, forget it.
Atari announces Ghostbusters for PSP, we're left speechless originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 30 Sep 2009 10:50:00 EST. We were moved -- genuinely moved! -- by Terminal Reality's efforts to improve the lackluster visual quality of the PS3 version of Ghostbusters with a recent patch. However, while the implementation of multi-sampling anti-aliasing and a slight bump of resolution make the PS3 title look prettier than its launch iteration, a recent Digital Foundry comparison came to a startling conclusion. Even post-patch, the game fails to deliver on its promise of 720p resolution or equality with the 360 version of Ghostbusters.

The Eurogamer-hosted blog has a few enormous image comparisons for the pixel-counters among you. We're not experts on visual fidelity (What's an alias? Why must it be anti'ed?) but we do know that we are owed. Does one penny per missing pixel sound fair to you?
Ghostbusters PS3 patch is close to 720p, but no cigar originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 31 Aug 2009 13:20:00 EST. The PS3 version of Ghostbusters was largely criticized for its inferior performance compared to the Xbox 360 version. Developer Terminal Reality told Joystiq, "The PS3 version ... is softer due to the 'quincunx' antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version." 25% fewer pixels? Unacceptable!

Atari is promising to redress the differences between the two platforms with a new patch for the PS3 version which is supposedly available right now. According to the Atari press release, the patch will offer an "increase in resolution to match that of Xbox 360" while offering "numerous other localization fixes."

Additionally, the Trophies for the game have been fixed. A glitch - caused when players from Europe and America played with each other - prevented the "Pay Day" and "Capture All Most Wanted Ghosts" Trophies (and subsequently, the game's mandatory Platinum) from unlocking properly. If bustin' ghosts with your international pals makes you feel good, it might be time to fire up Ghostbusters again.
More pixels being patched into PS3 version of Ghostbusters originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 26 Aug 2009 10:45:00 EST. Four of the five - UFC 2009 Undisputed, Prototype, Fight Night Round 4, and NCAA Football 2010 - are safe bets; however, the last game on that list is a surprise: Ghostbusters.

Atari's movie adaptation was successful, but its no-show on the last two month's NPD charts suggested it wasn't selling that well. In fact, the NPD tells us that across all six platforms, it has sold just 560,000 copies in North America. The best-selling version, in case you were curious, was the Xbox 360 release, at 225,000. We're contacting Atari about the discrepancy between the NPD numbers and Atari's announced one million sales, but its inclusion on GameStop's top seller list seems to imply that Atari's number is closer to the truth. Which would mean that Ghostbusters is something of a stealth hit!
Ghostbusters among GameStop's top five games this quarter originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 20 Aug 2009 17:20:00 EST. Talk about your long-term commitments. The Conduit developer High Voltage Software has just entered into a lifetime agreement with Terminal Reality to use the company's Infernal Engine (right, that's the one that makes Ghostbusters run). High Voltage hasn't really been a force on PS3 or 360 yet, so we're wondering if the move was prompted by slow sales on its last Wii outing (which, you may remember, ran on its own Quantum3 engine).

"By incorporating some of the best PS3/360 technology, we are able to really push the envelope with our next wave of titles," Kerry J. Ganofsky, founder of High Voltage, said in the release. In related news, isn't Infernal Engine the best name for an engine ever? We're pretty sure it is.
High Voltage licenses Infernal Engine for-ev-er originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 13 Aug 2009 00:00:00 EST. Since its June 16 release, Ghostbusters: The Video Game has managed to sell over one million copies in North America across all platforms. That's a pretty big deal, doubly so for Atari, a company in dire need of some success. We can't imagine what kind of hot water the company would be in if it couldn't recoup some of that $15 - $20 million it cost to develop the game.
Over one million new Ghostbusters recruits in North America originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 28 Jul 2009 18:00:00 EST. Namco Bandai partners has announced that Ghostbusters will officially arrive on European Wii, DS and Xbox 360 consoles (and PCs) on October 23, according to VideoGamer.com. Thus far, the game has only been officially available for the PS3 and PS2 thanks to its initial European publisher, Sony. That said, the North American Xbox 360 version is reportedly not region-locked, allowing European gamers to import the title.
Still, for Nintendo and Xbox players longing for what Play Magazine calls the "best damn Ghostbusters game [they've] ever seen" (as opposed to the vastly superior version we were hoping for), the wait is going to be just a bit longer.
Non-Sony Ghostbusters releases dated in Europe originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 10:30:00 EST. Ghostbusters: The Video Game has allegedly sold over one million copies -- after costing $15-20 million to produce. The figures were revealed in a feature about developer Terminal Reality in the Star-Telegram of Texas. Although the price tag may seem high, it's not unusual for next-gen development. Remember, Ken Levine revealed BioShock cost about $15 million in fancy 2007 dollars.

Terminal Reality's co-founder, Mark Randel, says he's heard the game's success has sparked interest in a third movie and, if that happens, he'd love for the company to handle development of the obligatory tie-in game. Let's see if we got this straight: the next game would be based on the third Ghostbusters movie, spawned by the success of the video game, created to tie in with the 25th anniversary of the first movie and, of course, the game was written as if it were the third movie. We got that right?
Powering up the old 360 earlier today, we discovered that a Ghostbusters demo is available now on Xbox Live Marketplace. 360 owners can snag it right here. A few more checks with our super-top-secret UK contact confirmed that it's currently up on the European Playstation Store as well, meaning it's probably going to be available in North America after the weekly update later today.

Go grab it and see if bustin' makes you feel good (or not).
Ghostbusters demo busts out on XBLM, PSN originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 09 Jul 2009 12:45:00 EST. Judaism has wised up, though. Those who follow its teachings in regards to keeping kosher - specifically by blasting a ham at a bar mitzvah in Ghostbusters - will be rewarded with an Achievement (and a Trophy, we presume) called "Kosher." It's only 10 points, but still, it's substantial.
Man, why does all the best stuff happen to Jews?
According to Chart Track's UK software sales figures from last week, we know the Barry Pepper-voiced free-roamer, Prototype, has managed to secure the top spot. It wasn't an easy battle, as Radical Entertainment's title had some stiff competition in Terminal Reality's Ghostbusters, which made its debut in the UK last week.

The ghost bustin' reunion was not enough to topple the "go anywhere, kill everything" game, and managed to secure the bronze with a third place showing. It should be noted that this is the all-format charts, and with it being a PS3 exclusive in the territory (Xbox 360 owners do have options, though), third is pretty impressive for a game on just one platform (excluding Wii Fit). As for second place, The Sims 3 dropped down from its cushy throne last week thanks to a 49% decline in sales. Don't feel too bad for the game, though -- it did have the best PC launch in EA's history, you know.
UK chart get: Prototype on top, Ghostbusters debuts at third originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 22 Jun 2009 15:15:00 EST. We suppose it's a little ironic that the multiplayer for the PC version of Ghostbusters is little more than a phantom. That is to say that the PC version doesn't actually have multiplayer at all, a fact our compatriots at Big Download reported earlier this week. Naturally, PC gamers probably have a few questions about this, chief among them being, "What gives?"

When asked by Big Download for a response, Atari sent along comments from Dan Irish, CEO of Threewave, the game's multiplayer developer. According to Irish, Threewave had intended to create multiplayer for both consoles and the PC, but eventually decided to focus on the console versions in order to keep the quality bar as high as possible. According to Irish, if the company had attempted to develop both the PC and console versions simultaneously, "something would have to suffer."

Probably not the answer PC players were hoping for. Another question that has yet to be answered, according to Big Download, is whether Atari and Threewave have any plans to add multiplayer in the future.
Atari responds to missing multiplayer in Ghostbusters PC originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 17 Jun 2009 19:00:00 EST. Richard Leadbetter - Director of HD consultancy Digital Foundry and author of Eurogamer's multiplatform comparison Face-off features - tweeted that playing Ghostbusters on the PS3 was like "time-warping back to the dawn of PS3 development." Ouch! That's especially painful to read considering the high hopes Terminal Reality - developers of the just-released Ghostbusters game - have for their multiplatform Infernal Engine.

Internet reports of a less-than-stellar PS3 version of the title originated at Lens of Truth on Monday, were later corroborated by Gamezine.co.uk and, following tomorrow's publication of Leadbetter's most recent Face-off feature, will be further corroborated by Eurogamer. Confusing the issue even further is the following quote from Terminal Reality's Mark Randel, who told VG247 last year, "We're one of the few developers who love the PS3 and have a great time with it. We have great technology for the PS3 and we want to show it off."

Instead of leaving it up to internet Matlocks, we asked Terminal Reality to comment on the controversy. A spokesperson for the developer told us, "For the record, the PS3 version [of Ghostbusters] is softer due to the 'quincunx' antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version. So you cannot directly compare a screen shot of one to the other unless you scale them properly. The PS3 does have less available RAM than the 360 - but we managed to squeeze 3 out of 4 textures as full size on the PS3."

So: is the PS3 "maxed out"? Or is Terminal Reality's engine - despite comments to the contrary - just not up to snuff on the PS3? With most recent multiplatform titles performing comparably, if not identically, on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles, we'd be inclined to agree with Mr. Leadbetter: it's like "time-warping back to the dawn of PS3 development" when PS3 games were routinely outperformed by their Xbox 360 counterparts. Let's hope the irony of the situation is lost on Ghostbusters' exclusive European publisher ... Sony. As well as the franchise's owner ... Sony Pictures.
Listen ... do you smell something? Stripped of its license, Ghostbusters is a passable, if largely forgettable game. The entire experience is held together on the merits of its source material alone, with occasionally witty dialog and story draped like a sheet across what amounts to inconsistent gameplay and level design that would make most amateur modders cringe.

Still, given Ghostbusters' rocky road to retail, I suppose we should be grateful that there's a game to complain about at all.
According to a number of reports from North American purchasers of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the highly anticipated film-to-game adaptation is more than capable of crossing the stream known as the Atlantic Ocean. Yes, players are claiming that the Xbox 360 version of the title isn't region-locked, and can be played on consoles worldwide -- even in Europe, where Sony recently scored the publishing rights for the title, turning it into a PS3 exclusive.

In other words, for Europe's import-savvy 360 owners, the chance to digitally don a proton pack is just one transatlantic cargo plane journey away.
Xbox 360 Ghostbusters not region-locked, Europe doesn't need to wait originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 16 Jun 2009 10:40:00 EST. Then we remembered that it was impossible to get tired of that song.

As for the game, the multiplayer component features flagrant stream-crossing, on-the-fly revival of fellow Busters, and multiple instances of the same character. If someone else is Winston and you wanted to be Winston, no problem! What a relief. This trailer also briefly highlights the game's "Protection" mode, in which players battle ghosts in order to keep them from destroying vulnerable technology.
We realize it's a surprise, but apparently Terminal Reality believes that constantly changing publishers isn't all that great. The Ghostbusters game has traveled a very rocky publishing road, starting with Sierra, then sitting in limbo following the Activision / Vivendi merger, then moving to Atari and then moving to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for the European market. Adding to the mess, SCEE will initially release the game only on PS3 and PS2 in Europe, leaving the 360, Wii and DS versions for later this year.

Speaking to GI.biz, Terminal Reality executive producer Brendon Goss said that the situation is not "ideal" as the developer prefers to create "a collaborative relationship" with publishers. He adds that all versions of the game are complete and he hopes that European release schedule won't cause confusion, which he said could harm sales of the game. In the face of the publishing decisions, which Goss said Terminal Reality had no say in, the team decided to focus on improving the game.

We'll find out if that work paid off when the game releases this June.
Ghostbusters dev: Publisher changes not 'ideal' originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 08 May 2009 22:00:00 EST. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that it will be publishing Ghostbusters in Europe this June, meaning that the game is now a PS3 and PS2 exclusive in the region. Not only that, but the rumored and debunked PSP version has also been confirmed for release later this autumn. The PS3 and PS2 versions are currently set for a June 19 debut.

Eurogamer has confirmed with Atari that the deal is for timed exclusivity on Sony platforms, with all other versions being released "later in the year." It's certainly a strange move on Atari's part, especially when limiting their potential consumer base is being called "maximizing the launch of the Ghostbusters videogame across Europe" by Atari's VP of Worldwide Marketing. Pushing non-Sony versions further towards or, even worse, into Q4 won't do the 360, Wii and DS versions any favors.

Update: Atari US has clarified its publishing plans for the North American region. The 360, PS3, Wii and DS versions will all be released in the US on June 16, as previously announced. The PSP version will be released worldwide in Autumn.
Sony publishing Ghostbusters in Europe, PSP version resurrected [update] originally appeared on Joystiq on Wed, 06 May 2009 07:50:00 EST. We're ain't afraid to tell you that rumors of a demo for Ghostbusters being packaged with the upcoming Blu-ray version of the film can be safely locked away in an Ecto-Containment Unit (or the nearest parallel dimension). A recent listing by online retailer ShopTo.Net excited some by listing a demo among the movie's features. However, Atari reps busted our hearts, saying simply "there will be no demo for Ghostbusters: The Video Game on the Blu-ray disc."

It's worth mentioning, however, that the retailer in question is rooted in the UK while the PR person we spoke with was US-based. So there is a slim possibility that differences exist in how the movie will be packaged in the different regions, or perhaps ShopTo.Net is bundling the demo itself as part of some special promotion. Again, unlikely, though the store tells Joystiq that based on our inquiry it is checking with its suppliers and will "update the website accordingly if it's not going to be included."
Rumorong: No Ghostbusters demo crossing streams with Blu-ray movie originally appeared on Joystiq on Tue, 05 May 2009 10:15:00 EST. On the one hand, it is a definite mistake to be interested in licensed movie games based on how closely they resemble the movies, rather than on their own merits as games.

But on the other hand, wow, that is totally Ghostbusters. From the awkward mundanity of the self-produced advertising, to the Gozer/Shandor references, to the off-screen museum scare, this intro just gets it right. There's something weird, and it does look good. Good thing the game itself looks like a winner as well.

Gallery: Ghostbusters (360/PS3/PC)

Continue reading We're ready to believe this Ghostbusters intro movie

We're ready to believe this Ghostbusters intro movie originally appeared on Joystiq on Fri, 24 Apr 2009 13:25:00 EST. Which is a bit weird, since the actual movies are ... comedies. Of course, the game is based more heavily on the shooting wiggly beams at ghosts and blowin' stuff up parts of the series than on the "being kind of a sleaze to Sigourney Weaver" parts.

Along with the trailer, Atari has released new screens. You can call 'em up in the gallery below.
Dan Aykroyd really likes the 2004 film, The Incredibles. So much so, in fact, that he believes himself to look like an Incredibles-esque superhero in the upcoming Ghostbusters game for Wii, telling Newsweek, "I love the way we look in the Wii platform ... anybody who looks like an Incredible is automatically a superhero." Though we're not sure if there's a direct correlation between the two, Aykroyd firmly believes so, continuing, "I was so pleased that they shaved off at least 60 pounds from my current bulk."

Apparently Aykroyd's current poundage isn't all that was shaved in translation from movie to game, as the romantic elements between Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver have been omitted from the forthcoming title. Aykroyd says "the format of ghostbusting lends itself to a video game beautifully," while apparently the finesse required in convincing Sigourney Weaver to fornicate with Bill Murray doesn't so much. Not even a minigame, folks? We kid! It probably didn't help that Ms. Weaver declined to be part of the game, huh?
